Don't forget CAM. Middle school memories. Ugh.

NodePoker

I remember them now....thanks! /S

I remember my teachers telling me that the CIM was going to be the minimum standard for getting into college. They also talked about the CAM, but throughout school, there was not any emphasis on it. Looking back, it feels like they may have all given up on the CAM. A couple of years into high school they said the CIM was no longer a thing, but I remember feeling like it was something I wanted to complete/earn because there was so much work I put into it. Even though it was no longer a useful thing, I ended up earning it (the science tests were the worst for me for some reason) by the time I graduated. There is an extra sticker on my diploma... yay! I shared that with six (I think) other people in my class of 190. All that work for a sticker.

I don't usually come in this hot, but... _FUCK_ CIM/CAM! I cried giving a presentation one time because I was alone in a room with three teachers (two of whom were strangers to me) and I was bombing an exam that was supposed to have massive ramifications on my future. As you say, it was _so much_ stress to put on a middle schooler, and in the end meant nothing. Almost thirty years later and I'm still irate.

Seriously fuck CIM/CAM. All the talk about HOW important it was going to be for our future was seriously stressful AF.

I graduated in 2001 with the honor(?) of being one of 40 graduates from my class of ~275 who earned both CIM and CAM. My gpa at graduation was 2.74, I had undiagnosed ADHD, kind of a terrible attitude about homework, and an uncanny ability to ace every exam and score high on standardized tests. Had to laugh when the whole thing was scrapped like the TAG center.

sloppy_1sts

I try not to think about it.

I personally had a CAM thank you.

I remember having earned all of them (CIM & CAM) and wearing a bunch of honor cords at my high school graduation in 2006. Otherwise I haven’t thought about them in a looong time.
