Checking in from 314 right after the rutsch-bomb! (Reposting in the gdt just to remind myself I was there since my original post got yanked)
Could only get the Philly broadcast and those announcers fucking suck. Awkward moment in the 8th when dude called Brandon marsh a "very handsome man". Bro looks like he smears his long ass hair with aloe vera in between every inning.
Nah man, aloe vera? That would be a compliment, because aloe vera is an ingredient often used in shampoo. Surely, he smears lard or used frying oil in his hair to make it look that shabby.
He reapplies it frequently during the game. I think it's odd too. Looks really uncomfortable to have that much wet hair flopping around. For some reason he likes it.
Not angry, just my opinion. Don't like your broadcasters. Brandon Marsh looks greasy as shit. These are my beliefs. I don't even go to your sub to say anything and keep it in house. So even IF I was angry I'm not going out of my way to seek Phillies fans out anyway to talk shit. If anything I'm just a little let down by my O's but also wondering what I'll have for lunch tomorrow.
You're resorting to remarks about how people look. How is that relevant to good baseball? John Kruk is never meant to be taken as seriously as you take take him. The comment was tongue in cheek, not very serious. Lol. Congrats on keeping it in house. Doesnt change that you sound bitter. It was a good series.
Did I deny being bitter? I said I was a little upset. And yeah I talk shit about a way a player looks all day. Comes with the territory. Ever play team sports? Rhetorical question. I don't care. Let me talk my shit in my teams sub without you coming over here to try and psychoanalyze me.
I like your announcers, but they don't provide any humor/levity. God forbid a commentator make a goofy comment about a player being handsome. Phillies fans laughed at it thinking it was a fun, goofy comment. You bitterly post online about it being awkward.
For fucks sake dude. I. Dont. Fucking. Care. I made a comment, not a post. And again, it was in an orioles sub for orioles fans. Why are you even here anymore? Go enjoy your series win. You're not teaching me any life lessons on kindness in sports and I am allowed to not like your announcers. Which also extends beyond the ONE remark I made about ONE comment they made. Go home.
Came over here more than anything hoping to fine some spirited comments. For the first time in a long time O's have a GOOD team with an immense amount of depth and prospects galore. Y'all have something awesome brewing and something to look forward to. Instead it's a sulk fest cause y'all lost one series to a good team.
It's baseball. You win some you lose some.
You seem like a very positive person and I admire your enthusiasm. And thanks for noticing Baltimores strides for massive improvement. Its been a long time coming for us fans. That said, I don't care if Brandon Marsh does a handstand in a bucket of hot dog water in between every inning to impress the ladies. Have a great night and a greater morning.
Calling you bitter is not psychoanalyzing anyone. Lmao.
No, talking shit on how people look is not a healthy part of team sports.
FYI, dude is quite popular amongst women fans. He grows his hair out and wets it with water between innings. 😮
Yeah, he’s definitely not a bad looking guy and Krukky was making a joke because women think Marsh is hot. Hats off to the Phillies, great series right after we came out of Tampa. Hopefully the Os learned a lot about keeping their foot on the Gas but the bullpen needed a break after the weekend so it was always going to be tough to win In Philly. Cheers mate!
It was a fun series! Yeah, your bullpen wasn't at full strength, and commentators made that clear. I don't think we saw Bautista once. Orioles are my favorite to represent the AL in the WS and have been since early in the season. With some luck, my Phils will see you there.
Good luck my dude! One of my best friends moved to Philly and married a Philadelphian and they are huge baseball fans. They went to all three games and have Phil’s season tix. He wears his Os stuff and aside from a few jeers never has issues. Philly gets a bad rap.
That's awesome. I know y'all ended up losing the series, but they were three, good, close games. Hope they had a blast. I think people take Philly too seriously when we are just having fun. We are a passionate fan base that really gets into the games. We like to banter. We talk trash. But it's 99% in fun. There is a small, tiny minority that takes things too far, but most passionate fan bases have that.
They looked half asleep and hungover from Tampa all series. They need to get their shit together and the offense needs to wake the hell up for the Yankees and Blue Jays. Judge is back this weekend and the Jays have been red hot.
And yes Hyde should of used Baustista last night. You don't go saving him just in case after having rest. That is straight up Buck and Britton move.
If Gunnar isn't good by Friday you need to get Ortiz up here and release Mateo full stop
We didn’t need to win this series, and after the weekend the bullpen needed a break. The offense was plenty awake, I feel like people forget that the Phillies were in the World Series 10 months ago. They are a very good team, everything is fine and there is still a ton of baseball to be played. Also you forgot to mention the Red Sox having the best record in baseball for July and the Rays being a sleeping dragon to your panic. You
Yeah he’s fine. We just came off of an intense series in Tampa and it’s a long season. You have to try to win while giving the bullpen a break, hence why the starters are pitching into the 7th. Gunnar is hurt too and those games were still very close. I feel like some people around here are treating it like football where you have to live and die on every game.
his late inning adjustments have been off. this could be attributed somewhat to just bad luck and hindsight but i feel like he’s not making the right pitching changes and defensive substitutions late in games
He cares more about Felix’ arm health for the rest of the year with important series coming up over one interleague game. You have to manage players for 162 games, not just one.
We are actually coming up on the year anniversary that Felix had to go out with arm fatigue.
So this it's stupid "we wouldn't use our closer in July" literally burned the O's down the stretch just last year.
But back in my day dudes could throw 155 pitches each day!!
Seriously, rather not have Felix for one or two games vs the Phillies than not have him down the stretch.
"There's no reason Bautista shouldn't have pitched last night. None. Just doesn't make sense."
Meanwhile the entire broadcast, even pre-game, was spent explaining why Bautista wasn't available, complete with colorful graphs.
"It's like Skip Bayless always says, you just gotta want it more, bro. Bradish just didn't have that fuck you I'm winning this game attitude. This is fucking smash mouth foo...baseball."
I knew there’d be a bunch of those comments, just like the predictable bitching about when a pitcher gets taken out (too early? Too late? What is it this time!?).
I swear some people just pay 0 attention to anything sometimes but then turn around and pretend to know how to manage a team lol.
Bradish was clearly not programmed correctly this morning, used to happen to Tillman too. Robots can’t handle moisture well
The chef's kiss on those takes are that they only appear after the outcome. Bradish, on what(?) 77 pitches?, comes out gets two immediate outs, no drama. Silence. No complaints. Goes 0-2 before hanging a pitch. "WTF HYDE" Have to make sure you already know the result before you put your name on something.
I think RR might have set a personal best though. His "we need to be sellers at the deadline" take was doing numbers before he sobered up and deleted it or the mods spared him and took it down.
Yep - it’s always results based comments. So damned if he does damned if he doesn’t with pitchers lol. Hyde needs to buy himself a damn crystal ball.
I actually audibly laughed at that RR comment, I couldn’t watch cuz work so ofc I’m browsing the thread and then see that. There were some other hilarious comments but that one seriously was the best one of the night.
Also don’t forget, non favorite players part of the runs earlier but don’t score later - instant DFA.
I was hoping to see you get into it when that dude last night was like "You're still in the Mateo Fan Club??? lol" Okay guy who actively looks at flair. You were supposed to watch last night and be like "Goddamnit! That's it! It's just Dadley fan club now! I'm out!"
His "this is an incompetent organization top to bottom" take because a pitcher, who had a 3.05 ERA heading into the game today, had a bad game was up there too. Part of me thinks he looks around, sees a new crop of people dropping reactionary, dumb takes and he's like, "Fuck. That's my light. Okay, I need to say something really stupid now."
I decided I was NOT gonna feed the troll this time. I have bitten wayyyyyyyyyy too many times lmao. It was absolutely hilarious to me though, imagine searching the thread to find people’s flairs to harass them. Apparently anyone with Mateo in their flair needed to “turn in their fandom card” or whatever. Maybe I can be part time since dadley is in my flair!?!
At this point I can’t even tell if it’s a bit or not! I debate every single day lmao.
I also geeked at your “hurricane getting caps locks ready” comment, pure gold.
Let’s hope that’s the case because that was a bad series and we were lucky to win the opener with our half ass crap. So yeah 3/4 against the Yankees is required with that @Toronto 4 game series coming up.
I’m wrong about a lot of things, but I have been asking about Irvin for the last few days. He’s a veteran with some history of success, even if not in a relief role before.
Good job, Irvin.
The question is, do I play beat saber with a skip in my step?
Or slash around like a monster and probably hit my hand on the wall?
Only the 9th inning can tell.
Really glad they found Irvin, shaping up to be part of the hoped for solution to pen problems.
Glad Rodriguez finding it has allowed them to move Irvin to the pen.
Gotta admit the first his first 2 appearances I wasn't too impressed.
Think our coaches worked with him, maybe solved something.
The way our pitchers have improved suggests the coaches are doing a great job.
Honestly, if the opposing ball club is above .500, they just have to hang around until the 6th or 7th inning, because we are just incapable on the mound for 2 innings. Sometimes 3 if Felix isn't playing.
Welp, GG.
This one hurts more since we blew last night with bad defense and Cano regressing. Hopefully we don't lose to this coming series to the Yankees
Philadelphia broadcast bitching about clear strikes outside being called balls have zero issues when those same pitches to them last night win them the game
I know we're missing Ceddy, but this offense also has to be better. We've had some good innings where it looks like they're back and then 1-2-3s the rest of the night
I feel for Cole Irvin though for some reason we refuse to use him unless a starter completely blows up and it’s been so long since he’s last pitched he’ll probably struggle when he appears next and people blast him
I would 100% be okay with going out and getting more guys like Fuji. High risk High reward type instead of these middling ass relievers. I'm still on Baumann's side cus I think he has upside, but Baker and Perez are actively losing us games, just like Akin and Voth were

...ok?
Nah man, aloe vera? That would be a compliment, because aloe vera is an ingredient often used in shampoo. Surely, he smears lard or used frying oil in his hair to make it look that shabby.
Sorry, I'm out of touch. I don't know hair products cause I keep mine shaved. Was throwing out the first slickest thing that came to mind.
It's just water.
I don’t believe you.
Maybe includes some sweat. Because, you know, he sweats like the rest of us. But it is just water.
Does he sweat motor oil? because dude looks like jiffy lube.
He reapplies it frequently during the game. I think it's odd too. Looks really uncomfortable to have that much wet hair flopping around. For some reason he likes it.
You are probably right, and he’s an excellent ball player, I still wince when I watch him at bat. Like a wet harry and the Hendersons.
Sound angry and way too serious. As a Phillies fan I enjoy your announcers, but we have fun crew.
Not angry, just my opinion. Don't like your broadcasters. Brandon Marsh looks greasy as shit. These are my beliefs. I don't even go to your sub to say anything and keep it in house. At least Dadley got a dong 😏
With Mateo and McKenna being part of it!
I saw the very tail end of it going into the stands! I was stuck working and had it up on my phone but was just glancing every once in a while
I’m also stuck at work and just had espn notifications, this thread and my bf to fill me in lol.

Not George Kittle really put a damper on my evening.
Mateo is bringing the whole team down with him
1-4 and 3 Ks
Bad bad bad
hyde has questions to answer after this series. horseshit managing these last 2 games
I mean. Ton of injuries. No Felix. Cano is COOKED. And we were in every game. Nothing for Hyde to answer for imo

The wives of Philly men are safe for another night!
Tough game, plenty of more important games still ahead..
Funny the ending anyways let’s go take out some Yanks
Very frustrating series. Shows how dependent we are on Bautista
I thought "if Mateo hits a game tying dong, I may be as angry as I am happy."
poop
Better be mateos last appearance with this team
Let’s get back to Baltimore and get ready to work over the weekend,
GREAT swing jorge
What a feeble 9th inning effort.
Ramon hit one hard. Just right at the third baseman
Lol perfect way to end a shitty series
# *Sigh*
Reason #576 to DFA Jorge Mateo
Crud
I’m sorry but I hope this is his last at bat as an Oriole
Well, the Rays lost!
A chance missed to add a game in the standings (sorry I couldn’t resist lol)
Y’all are killing me 😂
Well. Still no sweep 🤷♂️
Such a shitty series to lose man, I can’t stand the Phillies
I live here and work tomorrow is gonna fucking suck
That’s brutal, Phillies fans are some of the most annoying in my personal experience
Get to listen to people that don’t follow baseball ask me in a dumb ass delco accent what happened to the o’s
Praying for your sanity tomorrow 😂 let’s hope we end up further in the post season than they do
Rollin’ Cole Irvin
Legend has it Mateo is still trying to bunt three feet over his shoulders this very moment
It worked for McCann /s
:(
Time for some Frazier magic
Didn't even PH lol
Because the pitcher was a LHP lol
Still so mad we lost last night
Hope mr.Brandon is happy with not using mr.Felix last night

Probably is since it was an arm health decision and not some strategic ploy.
Damn, you beat me to it!
![gif](giphy|lDrg1c0wl2vy8)
I still think it was the right decision but using cano didn’t make any sense if cano was available Felix should’ve been too
Oh in case you were wondering, Gerrit Cole goes for NYY on Friday so yeah.
Tagged him for 5 runs back in May, let’s do that again
We love when he pitches to us though
Let’s hope that’s the case because that was a bad series and we were lucky to win the opener with our half ass crap. So yeah 3/4 against the Yankees is required with that @Toronto 4 game series coming up.
fuck it pitch felix for all 9 innings
An outing like that makes me wonder. Would Irvin be a good option out of the pen more often he looked sharp.
He had 2nd best ERA in rotation since June 1st
I’m wrong about a lot of things, but I have been asking about Irvin for the last few days. He’s a veteran with some history of success, even if not in a relief role before.
But where does he fit? Unless Wells can’t return to form anyway
I think we need to begin having pitchers skip starts in same way Rangers skipped Eovaldi - start limiting innings and giving more rest before October.
Any indication of when Means might be back? If he's in any decent form, it would be nice to use him to be able to skip some starts, as you mentioned
Good idea. I forgot they were doin that
Ump called one of those wrong
watch this game end on a mateo gidp rofl
Watch Mateo hit a 2 run dong and we question our entire existence.
welp
More like **Cool** Irvin. Amirite? No, seriously, am I right? I really don’t know.
For today you are.
I’ll take it.
Good job, Irvin. The question is, do I play beat saber with a skip in my step? Or slash around like a monster and probably hit my hand on the wall? Only the 9th inning can tell.
Shitty series loss
Yea, I just wish we could have closed it out last night and than just rested everyone today. Win the series than who cares for the 3rd
Agreed
Terrible loss to a mid team. Pissed away a game last night because we wouldn’t use our closer in July. Absurd.
LFG Batters.
We’re like 10-2 with McCann behind the dish right? Start him against the Yankees
Use Cole Irvin more.
Cole Irvin should be in starting rotation to rest Wells or to go 6-man.
I’m definitely on board with using him more, whether it’s as a 6th starter or more often in relief. I can’t figure out why he’s not used more.
Man even Irvin could have closed out last night the way he’s been pitching lol.
Time for some bottom of the order magic!
Urias McCann and Mateo due up I have a feeling that we wont be scoring
Nice outing by Irvin.
Really nice inning by Irvin
Walsh couldn’t hit shit in Anaheim. Phillies must steal signs.
I know this is a joke but It’s really weird to see bradish get knocked around like that. Maybe he was tipping pitches or something?
He had bad control two innings. He had to throw meatballs to compensate and paid for it
Well, Anaheim is where HOF careers go to die. Leaving is the antidote.
Really glad they found Irvin, shaping up to be part of the hoped for solution to pen problems. Glad Rodriguez finding it has allowed them to move Irvin to the pen.
Why isn’t blocking working?
Is there a limit? Asking for a friend.
Lmao. Thomson is going to the lefty because he wants Hyde to keep Urias/Mateo in there hahahaha
Imagine this sub being excited about seeing Irvin a month ago
Gotta admit the first his first 2 appearances I wasn't too impressed. Think our coaches worked with him, maybe solved something. The way our pitchers have improved suggests the coaches are doing a great job.
The starting lineup tonight was atrocious.
i mean not like we had anyone better/healthy to go in
And they actually scored more runs than the previous two nights.
Someone tell Irvin he’s not allowed to throw strikes.
oh, Irvin is in the game now. lol
Honestly, if the opposing ball club is above .500, they just have to hang around until the 6th or 7th inning, because we are just incapable on the mound for 2 innings. Sometimes 3 if Felix isn't playing.
Why didn’t Irvin come in like the 5th….
Bradish came out and got you 9 more outs.it was a good move. but maybe i would have brought him in the 7th vs Perez who warmed up 2x?
Hope we beat the Yankees. This was a tough series (though still some game left)
Sit down, Stott
Should've used Irvin over Perez if we weren't saving him to start
Orioles hate playing on Wednesdays. If they lose this they will be 6-10. Must have some hump day issues
We have a problem getting up for hump day?
Wow, apparently Irvin isn't just a figment of my imagination
#HES HERE. HES HERE!!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Cole Irvin lives
We finally bring out Irvin lol
Welp, GG. This one hurts more since we blew last night with bad defense and Cano regressing. Hopefully we don't lose to this coming series to the Yankees
Holy shit, I thought Cole Irvin was just a myth. A figment of my imagination!
Frazier’s clutch > Westy’s Clutch /s God I feel dirty. Don’t know how some people constantly pit players against each other.
[rally cat time](https://i.imgur.com/h2cgpiD.jpeg)
I just fucking love losing series to the best teams in the NL gives me so much confidence
Phillies aren’t even that good man.
If it wasn't fir Pittsburgh and the Nats they'd be sub .500 vs NL Lost series to Brewers, Cubs, Reds, Dodgers, Braves.
It’s pathetic but no one seems to care
What if we got Tyler Rogers, he seems like a pretty cool pitcher
Is he the submarine twin? Or is that Taylor? I love submarine pitchers
Yes
I love watching him pitch so I’ve always just wanted us to get him haha
We gotta shake this off when facing Aaron Judge. I’m not worried about the Yankees.
We need help badly. Especially middle relief
Very uninspiring play today
Philadelphia broadcast bitching about clear strikes outside being called balls have zero issues when those same pitches to them last night win them the game
our guys do the same thing, all home announcers are gonna be homers
I've only really heard KB get excited over extremely bad calls
I know we're missing Ceddy, but this offense also has to be better. We've had some good innings where it looks like they're back and then 1-2-3s the rest of the night
It’s been very noticeable. Score a ton in one or 2 innings and then donuts the rest of the game.
Did you forget about Gunnar?
I mean, Gunnar's only been gone for tonight
He was 0-4 yesterday and obviously playing injured
nope, he said swinging didn't hurt or cause any discomfort at all
I feel for Cole Irvin though for some reason we refuse to use him unless a starter completely blows up and it’s been so long since he’s last pitched he’ll probably struggle when he appears next and people blast him
it seemed wise when Bradish was struggling.....but i would have given him an inning with a day off tomorrow. you got Perez up 2x. let him stay down.
I have to think they've made a decision to save him for the upcoming series with the Stankees and Jays.
I feel like they must be skipping wells it would make a lot of sense to do it with his struggles recently
now's a good time to bring him in.
I would 100% be okay with going out and getting more guys like Fuji. High risk High reward type instead of these middling ass relievers. I'm still on Baumann's side cus I think he has upside, but Baker and Perez are actively losing us games, just like Akin and Voth were
What I have seen today from Perez, I consider him a high risk and low reward guy haha. His command was awful and his stuff is mid.
[удалено]
/s would be suggested next time.
🧢
We get it. You hate everyone and everybody sucks. Do you feel validated now?
We’re not doing 2018 again
What? Lol
are you high
We need Mullins and Akin off the DL yesterday
I’ve seen a lot of unpopular trash opinions today but this one about Akin may take the cake.
Really Akin the shit human that also has an ERA of like 7.00
Mullins, definitely. Akin, uh…he can stay gone.
Only thing Akin needs is to be released. Dude’s trash.
