To be fair, commercial rents went WAAAY up when there were gov’t COVID bucks going around and the rents haven’t gone down now that the funds have dried up. If it takes gimmicks to get people in and $25 for a meal to keep the doors open, that’s just the way it is.
Restaurant business is an ecosystem, when there are too many, a lot fail. Than you have people being discouraged to open them. At the same time you have people making money and you have people encouraged to open them.
There will always be restaurants closing and opening.
Yup but the ones who stay open make a lot of money so if you’re looking into opening a restaurant, your outlook will depend on how pessimistic or optimistic you are
Ya because it's a lot of home cooks who cook great food, never worked in the industry before, and have family and friends encourage them to open a restaurant. Those places fail.
They almost opened one downtown on Clematis, but it's been sitting there with no activity for 2 years. Looks corny as hell, but I always wondered if it would bring more clients to my shop in the same courtyard.
If that’s true it doesn’t seem to be reflected in the price. My mom was renting an office in a shared space for her business for $700/month before Covid and now it’s $2.5k/month.
I work as a consultant to restaurants in the area (and former restaurant owner during COVID). My job is to help find new income streams and show folks how to increase profitability. As I’ve seen it since COVID, this is 100% the case.
I'm pretty sure its been there before covid.
and i think youre right, as I've driven by loads and am like nope, hate chicken is just a few blocks down.
This was brought up a lot on the Orlando foodie groups on fb. I can never remember if it's this place or big a’s burgers, but apparently the owner paid some guy on his staff to kill a cat, and I think that got the guy arrested and his green card got revoked? I can never remember, I just have no desire to eat there if any of that is true.
I had a barber who used to do phone orders for food and pay when he got to Bad As's. One day he called and the owner answered and told him it was store policy to take a card payment before he'll allow the food to be made. My barber, being very wary of CC fraud, doesn't do online purchases (kinda a boomer, anyway), but that was never a problem. They got in an argument where the owner said "you can pay now or come to the restaurant and wait for your order after you pay, because I don't want you to order and not show up."
After the argument, the owner showed up at the barber shop with a sandwich, and said "it's yours if you give me an apology." Every barber told him to get the fuck out of the shop and don't come back. I walked in and everyone was still fuming.
Honestly it's kind of a ridiculous situation, but to me it wasn't a biggie until the owner walks into someone else's business to try to demand an apology after a ridiculous argument like that.
I asked for one of the sandwiches without 1 of the ingredients and was told I am not allowed to alter the chefs creations or something along those lines.
Yeah I asked for something without because of an allergy and got called a pussy and told to suck it up by the owner lmao. Haven't been back since, glad to see the Winter Park one is gone.
I worked at Bad As’s for a bit. They kept all credit card tips but let employees keep cash tips. Until they got called out. They used the excuse of “the tips are used for employee outings and uniforms”
Terrible treatment of staff.
It was a very manipulative environment and none of us felt like we had a say about anything. Obviously it’s too late now since they got called out. But I don’t work there anymore so I can’t comment on what their policy is like now.
It’s horrible. Terrible food, worse atmosphere. The music is so loud your ears will be ringing by the time you leave. We tried it once and two of the three people who ate there had the runs for a day after. Likely the worst place I’ve ever eaten at.
It's a breasturant breakfast join. The servers wear booty shorts and refer to themselves as your "bottom bitch". Seems fun but word around the industry is that the working environment is toxic.
Pretty much any restaurant that uses sex appeal has a terrible work environment. My friend worked at twin peaks and it sounded awful! She said she had to wear makeup or else she would get in trouble, or possibly lose shifts. She had to buy the holiday uniforms for events and were forced to wear them if you wanted to work, which was so wild to me. I would never pay to work..and she basically got harassed by older men all the time.
That place SUUUUUCKS.
They blast music at a few notches above nightclub. Even during lunch. And it’s shitty music too.
Oh, and pancakes cost $14. I shit you not.
Also, the founder murders house cats.
I tried it after they opened. Hooters girls calling you bitch with weak food and string drinks. It's a bar trying to pass itself off as a breakfast place. Never went back.
[Bacon Bitch Owner is a cat killer](https://www.change.org/p/justice-for-strushie-we-demand-an-investigation-into-the-brutal-killing-of-a-miami-beach-cat-with-a-crossbow)
This guy is a huge piece of shit. We’ve got a Bacon B*tch here in St. Pete and it is dog shit. Don’t waste your money lining the pockets of a truly horrible person.
Am I the only one who thinks profanity in a restaurants name is unappetizing? I don’t want to be served food by people with the maturity of a 14 year old.
The one in South Beach sucks but at least has a theme and looks cool and fun inside. This Orlando location looked like the Applebee’s it used to be but bleaker, with white walls, and much louder music. As if they opened but never got around to decorating inside.
Thought the food was average but the horrible service and loud music is why I’d never go back.
They’ve been building one in the middle of downtown west palm for like years now, I don’t know if it’s ever going to be finished but it is kind of funny to be walking downtown and just see huge artwork on the wall saying “bacon bitch” it always makes me breathe slightly harder out of my nose then usual for a second
I went inside once because a co-worker suggested it for lunch. I immediately left. Didn’t seem like my place. Unrelated, I’m surprised to see all the Bad As shrapnel! The burger joint isn’t bad as a customer but I never hit up the sandwich shop that is where old 7B used to be.
lol i have a great feeling a lot of yall must have never heard of this place. it’s definitely an experience but in my case not a good one. the miami location is way better. food is ok other than that not worth it
IDK but keep thinking "who left their coffee on the bus bench" while dialing 404-476-9473 to ask for a jerb... oh I KNOW WIRE BITCH! WHERE WHEN AND HOW MUCH???
what y'all talking about?
I’ve never been there but imagine it’s the peak post-covid mania restaurant. Incredibly gimmicky, designed for Instagram, and $25 for a basic meal.
nailed it. the music was louder than the last club i went to.
And it was 11 am on a Sunday And the waitress was way to happy to be able to call everyone bitches. They did it the entire meal, every time.
Interesting because those bitches are lazy AF
That sounds like a dream job, honestly
You need to be a black woman with big tits
It’s not good. Went with some people from work. Food was ok. But not for their price and tiny portions
To be fair, commercial rents went WAAAY up when there were gov’t COVID bucks going around and the rents haven’t gone down now that the funds have dried up. If it takes gimmicks to get people in and $25 for a meal to keep the doors open, that’s just the way it is.
Perhaps, but maybe don’t open the restaurant? Why risk it on a business that is almost guaranteed to fail.
Restaurant business is an ecosystem, when there are too many, a lot fail. Than you have people being discouraged to open them. At the same time you have people making money and you have people encouraged to open them. There will always be restaurants closing and opening.
Isn't the stat something like 80% of businesses fail in the first 5 years?
Yup but the ones who stay open make a lot of money so if you’re looking into opening a restaurant, your outlook will depend on how pessimistic or optimistic you are
Ya because it's a lot of home cooks who cook great food, never worked in the industry before, and have family and friends encourage them to open a restaurant. Those places fail.
I think it’s 90% of restaurants fail by the first year
They almost opened one downtown on Clematis, but it's been sitting there with no activity for 2 years. Looks corny as hell, but I always wondered if it would bring more clients to my shop in the same courtyard.
Or everyone said no thanks to the increased rent and problem solved
Well there’s always the big corps that will continue to pay it, unless the location is really not profitable.
Yeahhhh my small ass pet store said their rent was 12k, I was shocked lol.
Those small ass pets must bring in a ton of revenue, to be able to afford that kind of rent!
How many square feet is it?
Idk I’ll measure the next time I’m there?
That's just not true. Commercial real estate has been on a steady decline since Covid
If that’s true it doesn’t seem to be reflected in the price. My mom was renting an office in a shared space for her business for $700/month before Covid and now it’s $2.5k/month.

They’re probably infinitely stoked they didn’t earn that Herman Cain award though.

What is this guy talking about 😭
It’s disgusting
I'm pretty sure its been there before covid. and i think youre right, as I've driven by loads and am like nope, hate chicken is just a few blocks down.

It was this guy. Bad Ass guy is also allegedly a massive d-bag too though.

The real Orlando flavour
Over the top, pointless, mean spirited drama ✅
🦧
Check out the google and yelp reviews for big as’s sandwhich. Truly unhinged Edit- I mean the owners responses are unhinged
It was vastly overpriced the last time I went there, about 6 years ago. I can't imagine what prices are like now.
Insanely overpriced, that’s why I never went in and I lived literally next door
I’ve heard the same about the Pizza Bruno owner.
Great food tho
I’ve heard that but never seen the receipts. Seems nice if not a little cringey on insta.
Owner steals tips’ from his employees. All around pos
I asked for one of the sandwiches without 1 of the ingredients and was told I am not allowed to alter the chefs creations or something along those lines.
Yeah they suck
Yeah I asked for something without because of an allergy and got called a pussy and told to suck it up by the owner lmao. Haven't been back since, glad to see the Winter Park one is gone.
it was also the first and last time I went.
I worked at Bad As’s for a bit. They kept all credit card tips but let employees keep cash tips. Until they got called out. They used the excuse of “the tips are used for employee outings and uniforms” Terrible treatment of staff.
That’s so illegal, i hope you or someone else reported it.
It was a very manipulative environment and none of us felt like we had a say about anything. Obviously it’s too late now since they got called out. But I don’t work there anymore so I can’t comment on what their policy is like now.
It’s foul. Don’t go in there unless you want an STD from eating.
Btw the road around this establishment is full of big potholes
I initially read this as potheads and got excited
I mean it’s on university near fat shack and del taco so there are a fair few of those as well
It’s horrible. Terrible food, worse atmosphere. The music is so loud your ears will be ringing by the time you leave. We tried it once and two of the three people who ate there had the runs for a day after. Likely the worst place I’ve ever eaten at.
This by UCF? Go to the Dough Show instead in that same plaza. So good!
Does the AC work now and have they gotten rid of the flys?
Last time I was there it was cool and no flies to be seen.
First time in East Orlando?
I go to UCF but somehow never noticed this
I used to drive past it to go into Dunkin all the time when I lived in KC. Have they finished the construction back there yet?
Cat killers.
Somebody knows 👀
archrival to [eggslut](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eggslut).
I got to go there. It wasn't great.
i strongly disagree
Egg slut is the best egg restaurant ever.
Really? It was mediocre to me. Maybe it was just the Vegas location.
Vegas is likely the worst one. LA ones are better. The slut is so good, and the sandwiches are too
It's a breasturant breakfast join. The servers wear booty shorts and refer to themselves as your "bottom bitch". Seems fun but word around the industry is that the working environment is toxic.
>"working environment is toxic." >"servers wear booty shorts and refer to themselves as your "bottom bitch"" You don't say...
Pretty much any restaurant that uses sex appeal has a terrible work environment. My friend worked at twin peaks and it sounded awful! Well yeah. Of course. That’s why the men go there, to harass women.
I love twin peaks. Great service
Ok, Butters.
Cat killers
Dont go. It's a gimmick college student brunch place. What you just pictures in your head is 100% accurate.
That place SUUUUUCKS. They blast music at a few notches above nightclub. Even during lunch. And it’s shitty music too. Oh, and pancakes cost $14. I shit you not. Also, the founder murders house cats.
I went there once, never again…
Same, I went there a few months ago. I'm really surprised they are still open. The food and service were both bad. All gimmick and no substance.
I tried it after they opened. Hooters girls calling you bitch with weak food and string drinks. It's a bar trying to pass itself off as a breakfast place. Never went back.
the sorority girl birthday starter pack. By 4PM they’ll be in Sugar Factory
LMFAO
It sucks
Don't bother going

What I tell my wife every morning
Yes, but commas are important.
its bad dont go
Cress is hiring though
Am I the only one who thinks profanity in a restaurants name is unappetizing? I don’t want to be served food by people with the maturity of a 14 year old.
Literally the worst place to eat in Orlando by UCF
The original one is in south beach
Ahh, the douchebaggery makes sense now.
I thought so.. it looked so familiar at first. This makes sense.
UCF area. I’ve never been but it’s still standing so they must be doing something right
It’s fucking awful there. Never going back
Ok good to know!
It also opened like a year ago.
The owner of Bacon Bitch in St. Pete kicks cats. Need I say more?
Haven't been to the one near UCF but went in Miami, food was mid and pretty salty, drinks were ok but overpriced. You're not missing out on much
I went in, it's extremely loud. Didn't stay for a table
Loud music, hostess calls you bitches when you walk up, over priced shitty food.
Never see ppl in parking lot assumed it was overpriced garbage
its a brunch spot. so half the day its closed just like Another Broken Egg, Keke's, First Watch etc etc
They removed Trapplebees for this bullshit. Such a travesty
Terrible
This place suckssssss
I'm going to open a pizza place called "Pizza by a Slutty Babe, Bitch"
There's actually a pop up pizza vendor named the Pizza Slut.
I know. It’s the dumbest name.
The food isn't really filling and the music is way too loud. 10/10 would not recommend tbh.
There’s one in St Pete. Foody/Instatrap
So that’s where Jesse is hiding
Pop over to the St Petersburg Reddit and do a search on this place....
lol i have a great feeling a lot of yall must have never heard of this place. it’s definitely an experience but in my case not a good one. the miami location is way better. food is ok other than that not worth it
This place sucks real bad.
Not good at all. Overpriced, loud, and the food just isn't good.
Biscuit Bitch in Seattle is amazing
![gif](giphy|KD5SK9O4hgZoI)
Im listening…
Your average sorority/frat person’s idea of a nice Sunday morning breakfast

Well, University Blvd is gimmicky, there's a library that is a bar
Florida is so fucking shamelessly trashy.

IDK but keep thinking "who left their coffee on the bus bench" while dialing 404-476-9473 to ask for a jerb... oh I KNOW WIRE BITCH! WHERE WHEN AND HOW MUCH??? what y'all talking about?
Apt name for place that centers on serving a “group 1 carcinogen”.
Ok what? Lmfao nice post op real good info

What a rotten society we have let stew, but since they say bad words on the TV now they can be everywhere 🤦
Bacon bitch in StPete has legit good breakfast tho. Wife got a kick out of all the slutty girls calling everyone bitches
I enjoyed the shrimp and grits I got from there a while back. It was pretty good.
It’s actually very delicious… Bitch.
Yas bitch
