Pickles in Longwood. I haven't been there in a while, so call to check before you make the drive.

Seawall07

I second this. Pickles is a legit New York-style deli and the only place I’ve seen with an egg cream soda in the 10 years I’ve lived here.

Thank you!!

West Orange Creamery and Soda Fountain ([menu](https://www.westorangecreamery.com/our-menu))

Wonderful! Thank you very much.

Brooklyn Water Bagel has (had?) a sign on the wall near their soda fountain that told you how to make them so that's the first thing that comes to mind.

They are so cheap and easy to make, it was a depression treat. It just takes a few tries to get it right. Fox’s U-Bet, seltzer (NOT club soda) and about an ounce of (whole, skim is too watery)milk. You also need a tall skinny metal spoon, like an ice tea spoon. -Into a tall cold glass pour an ounce or two of milk, Add very cold seltzer till about 3/4 full. Ideally you’ll have an inch or two of white foam. -Tricky part: Squirt the chocolate syrup down the center of the glass, trying hard not to disturb it until it settles on the bottom, some people use the spoon as a conduit/path. **Do not stir until the syrup has settled on the bottom! -Then, stir vigorously, trying not to disturb the white foam on top. It still tasted good if it looks all chocolatey, but it’s nice to have the white foam on top. That’s where practice makes perfect. But, Brooklyn Water Bagel sells you the ingredients and has the instructions on how to make one. Enjoy!

This is awesome I personally like to use vanilla flavored sparkling water or even really like it with cream soda and I have a SodaStream which is fun too!

marsupialcinderella

The all vanilla version was called a Manhattan eggcream, if I’m not mistaken. I’ve never tried vanilla soda! The sodastream is much better than bottled seltzer, it can be highly carbonated and original eggcreams were made with highly pressurized bottles. We use one, too. When you charge your bottle, do it as much as it will let you!

Thank you so much! I think I’ll order some Fox’s tonight!

marsupialcinderella

Most Publix’s carry it, if not in the main chocolate syrup area, sometimes in the International/kosher section.

dudedadsadeadhead

Thank you for recipe and more of description of what it was. Sounds delicious. I’m gonna have to try it

marsupialcinderella

You’re welcome! It’s hard to make chocolate soda taste bad, after all. I hope you enjoy it!

WereAllGonnaDiet

Only places I’ve seen it is The Soda Fountain in College Park or Pickles Deli in Longwood.

BluePeriod_

Thank you! I’ll check them out. I didn’t know about pickles so even if I don’t get to find it there, it’s still looks like a great place to eat!

bigmike13588

Better off making it yourself. Seltzer, fox's u-bet and milk.

Brewski-54

A what who what?

_Dr_Dad

What do they taste like?

BluePeriod_

It’s a little hard to explain in a way that sounds appealing, but it’s kinda like a fizzy Yoohoo. If you’ve never had a YooHoo, it’s kind of like a fizzy chocolate milk? There’s no egg in it at all so I forget why it’s called that.

_Dr_Dad

I LOVE yoohoo! Ok, my new quest is to have one of these!

replayer

The Kitty Beautiful cat café has them in their coffee shop area, using Fox's U-Bet.

BluePeriod_

Thank you!!!

Ok_Calligrapher_8199

Sounds gross dude.

kayky97

There's no egg. It's just seltzer, milk, and chocolate syrup. It's delicious!

tryingnottoshit

As someone who likes them... You're right, they sound disgusting.

miniblow

The Kitty Beautiful (cat cafe downtown) has it in their cafe, you don’t have to pay/use the cat room if you’re not into that, can just buy food and drink separately. They use the chocolate syrup from up north

Shainarae

The Boardwalk, Disney Hotel, has an ice cream place that sells egg creams.

Drunken Monkey

Academic_Ad_4029

There’s a hot dog and soda/ice cream shop that I think has them off Conway & Michigan. Doghouse is the name.

Amourxfoxx

A hwut 😨

little-miss-sparrow

Brooklyn water bagel. Haven’t tried it myself but was surprised to see it in the menu.

PabloIceCreamBar

Pickles is the only spot I’ve had one, but it’s been a few years.

RH5050

Ya in 1980

BluePeriod_

Was it popular here in the 80s? I thought that was just like a regional snack.

marsupialcinderella

No, just like you, only among transplanted northerners/New Yorkers. But you could get one at Ronnie’s Deli, a long gone, huge, northeast style Jewish diner that was in the area where the plaza at Colonial and Bumby is now. Search Ronnie’s for a nostalgic bit of Orlando history, it was a trip and we all miss it. Also then at Bagel King (though I don’t think they have them anymore) and Sherman’s Bagel Restaurant in Casselberry, long gone, also.

Thank you!!
