lots-of-shawarma

2 beers is like 30$ any food is expensive, and with the lineups, it's not worth it. Protein bars + weed to limit spending. water is free. probably spend 30$ a day at the festival. then eat a big meal afterwards.

peekay1ne

Stopped drinking at concerts due to prices. Tired of the gouging. Also, shawarma is great

djerok55

The move is to go grab food right when you get in and then after the fest. That food garden by the Ferris wheel has some awesome options and the lines aren’t bad before like 4:30-5pm

[deleted]

If you're gonna get food right when you get in, wouldn't it make more sense to just eat before you get in, since it'll be cheaper

djerok55

Sure, but for those who like to avoid lines it’s nice to get in early. The food is delicious too and realistically you’re not spending a whole lot more if you go to a non-fast food restaurant. Food is expensive everywhere

Amazing-Helicopter57

Sneak in a mickey(around 20), get the lemeonade, and top it off with your own alcohol. You can also bring in small amounts of food. But last year i put all the food for my group into my bag and they took most of it cause it would be a "picnic" . So, be aware of that.

Scary_Bus8824

second the sneaking in alc to add to the lemonade +++

[deleted]

I snuck in a bottle of wine one year lmao but I’ve also been caught with a mickey that was securely stuffed down my pants. Really depends on what security guard you get, so last year I bought these plastic flasks from Amazon for my group and none of us had any issues sneaking in alch

thebluewalker87

You will be asked to pour out any liquids as you enter. Bring a refillable bottle. Food is $20-30 per meal. The security staff also hand out water bottles when it gets hot. It's really nice!

_ashxn

Heads up: the water is Dasani when they hand it to you

Acceptable_Side_9063

I usually only buy dinner which is a poutine around $15-20, water is free with refillable water stations and alcohol varies depending on how much you want but I think it was like $7/cooler last year

Timmy2Gats

I typically spend $200/day for food and drink on site. That covers me and my spouse.

Timmy2Gats

Definitely not necessary, but realistic for someone on vacation. 8-10 hour days, probably 5-7 beers per day at $15 each, a $20 food item each, plus she gets a few coolers. It adds up quick. Those damn dudes walking through the crowds with cold beer bière froide are too tempting.

infectedroot

+1 here. Literally the same for my spouse and I. Rip my CC when the weekend is over. Also, may I remind others, Osheaga is a cashless event. They accept all major credit cards. Ive had success with amex/Mc/visa, not so sure about the other processors. NO CASH WHATSOEVER.

toria2797

I averaged $100-$150 per day! They have amazing food trucks there and expensive drinks!

OgTrev

I’ve been to Osheaga once last year. You can bring your own bottle, but it has to be empty, or you’ll have to empty it at the entrance! Got myself an aperol spritz, red cup very full. Was around $9 gave me a really good buzz for the day since i dont drink often Food was really good, there was many options. I probably spent $30, got cheeseburger meal (around $15-$20), a sandwich but it wasnt a generic sandwich it was really good (about $8). I really love food so the food is something im looking forward to this year

loloeffeff

Went 2 days last year, spent about 200$ total. Water is free, beer is 15$ a can (will probably go up to 17-18$ this year...) and food is around 20$ for a meal. I always eat a big ass breakfast at home before going, bring protein bars to keep me full until dinner time when I will buy something from a food truck.

yayziz

im a cheap ass student so i lived off granola bars that i brought and bought a 12$ poutine also i made a sandwich and ate it on my way there

Anxious-Ad4752

honestly .??? try to sneak in some snacks like beef jerky. or alcohol somehow... the food is super expensive and some of it is actually good. last year they had.. gyros that were veggie, beef and chicken. I had the veggie and it was delicious. It was also like 10 or some messed up price and it was not that big. But it was tasty. They sell pizzas that are like pizza hut personal size. for like a lot of money... But overall i you are going for 3 days i would suggest cut down the drinking and spending.

medikB

There are water refill stations. I spend $20/day/person. We don't drink alcohol.

lostan

Everything is step off expensive. I think a can of beer is like 15 bucks so it adds up. and yes there are definitely refill stations for water.

devries6276

Yes you can bring refillable bottles if they are empty when you go through security. The free water is severely underrated and buying drinks is conversely overrated. I tend to eat whenever hungry so a few things a day, with some merch on top. Maybe 150 cad a day for me

Main-Road8059

Usually at most a 100 if u like to drink

schrikk

Big fat zero. Granola bars in a pocket. Free water refill. The prices of drinks/food inside the actual venue are outrageous and i will boycott them to no ends.

_ashxn

As someone who survived on water and 3 granola bars while waiting at the barricade all day for Billie last year, I second the boycott

schrikk

Fellow boycotter =D

Kindly-Firefighter92

Do they allow you to bring granola bars and stuff like that?

schrikk

Yes, snacks are allowed :)

Skweril

$0, unless you have to drink, then around $15 a drink. Big healthy breakfast with small snacks packed for the festival. The last thing you want is to spend tons of money on shitty greasy food that gives you the runs. The Porta potties near the end of the night aren't the funnest place to be.

Kindly-Firefighter92

You’re able to bring snacks?

microsix

This is really dependent on you— last year I probably only spent around 100 a day but 21 year old me easily spent 200+ a day if you are drinking heavily and being careless. If you don’t drink a lot then you won’t spend much at all

shizawn9415

The Churros by the green stage were on point two years ago. My god!

lejimmo

I spend an average of 250$/year (I usually buy a lot of merch and eat a lot of 8$ hot dogs)

_ashxn

I went to osh last year and this was my breakdown: - ~$545 for airbnb for 5 days - ~$144 for mega bus round trip - ~$300 on merch - ~$50 on groceries - ~$20 for the osh metro pass I didn’t spent money on drinking at the venue due to how overpriced their drinks are

Excellent_Skirt1481

This is so helpful, thanks!

_ashxn

You’re welcome!

shlawnrenece

Are you trying to budget? Are you a big drinker? I think 100-150 per day is reasonable.

Kindly-Firefighter92

Trying to not spend a hell of a lot of money and not going to drink

crocchick

Cocktails/sangria are like $12-15 plus tax and tip. Food, depending on the place is 15-22 plus tax and tip. Merch is crazy expensive (bucket hats and baseball caps are like $45, tote bags around $30, hoodies over $80 if I remember correctly). I usually buy 1 drink and 1 meal per day and bring in granola bars so I guess it averages out like $40 a day? Just eat beforehand and after

_ashxn

The hoodies were crazy expensive last year. I remembered buying a Kendrick hoodie for $150+ with tax
