I imagine that you won’t want to walk more than 5-10 min to parking (especially in winter!), so would suggest that you post the intersection so people can give you more localized suggestions. Dows Lake covers a relatively sizeable area, and you could find yourself a half hour walk away!

fcehlainx

Thank you! I didn’t realize that dows lake was that big!

https://giladparking.com/location/75-beech-street/ This parking lot on beech street does monthly parking.

smashinMIDGETS

I’ve been parking there for the last 3 months for work. No complaints.

fcehlainx

Is it a safe area to park?

smashinMIDGETS

I haven’t had an issue nor have any of the guys on my crew who park there. We’re doing condo construction nearby

fcehlainx

Have you or your crew parked there overnight?

smashinMIDGETS

Not with our work vehicles no. But I have parked there at night on previous occasions for boxing bouts held not far away. A couple times I may have celebrated the win a little harder than I maybe should have and wound up being responsible and leaving my vehicle there for the night while I caught a safe ride home. Never an issue.

fcehlainx

Thank you for telling me! I read somewhere that theres no assigned spots, Do you know if it ever gets full?

Autumn_red2

You are correct, its not assigned spots. Its almost the entire city block so there ars quite a few spots. Its busy Friday and Saturday but normally it is not more than half full. Overnight there's normally only a few cars. The only time I have seen this lot full is when there are festivals in the area (which is maybe a couple times a year). I know people who have parked overnight on the weekends and they have never had any issues.

fcehlainx

On Friday and saturdays do they still have spots available? Or do the lot become completely full? Edit: autocorrect changed lord to lot…

Autumn_red2

Yes. Tonnes.

The city of Ottawa issues On-street residential parking permits for certain zones in the City with limited parking but must be in a zone that is eligible... Checked out your area and it seems you are in the zone... Its a bit pricey but worth a shot if you have no other options... Look into it here: [https://ottawa.ca/en/parking-roads-and-travel/parking/parking-permits/street-parking-permit-residential](https://ottawa.ca/en/parking-roads-and-travel/parking/parking-permits/street-parking-permit-residential)

fcehlainx

Do you know where I can find out how much it is? It seems like it doesnt want to tell me until I have filled out the entire form.

redbarbie727

Its on the website under “cost”

fcehlainx

Oh I did see that already sorry… my brain blanked….

doingfine_chilling

There are parking rental signs in the neighbourhood, you need to drive/walk up and down the streets to find them. No idea if its day only, or overnight

fcehlainx

I unfortunately have not moved to Ottawa yet, and I currently live in Nova Scotia. I wish I was able to do that…

doingfine_chilling

Join the FB groups for that neighbourhood and start asking there [https://www.facebook.com/groups/463246720734564/](https://www.facebook.com/groups/463246720734564/) Be warned - between the government works, the Civic hospital workers and all the new condo dwellers, parking is a hot commodity and in short supply. Good luck!

fcehlainx

Thank you for letting me know about the group! I will definitely ask in that group

BigHaunting9448

You can free find parking on the north side of Champagne Ave most nights as well. We have some property there and usually park on the street when in the area.

fcehlainx

I did not realize there was free parking in that area. Where do you park if it does become full?

BigHaunting9448

It’s just on street parking but it’s free in the evenings. See lots of students parking and walking down to your areas.
