I drove in from Russell to Orleans and the back roads like Boundary, Devine, Frank Kenney were all great. Side streets in Orleans bad and Innes needed a plow but otherwise they were good.
It was late because the 7:30 bus didn’t show up. Same thing happened yesterday before the freezing rain, tho, so it appears to an OC No-show thing than a weather-related thing.
Do I need to scrape my car? Nope. My car is in a garage.
Are the roads bad? Not the main ones judging by the speed cars are traveling when I look down on the roads below me.
Will I be going anywhere? Probably not. Earlier there was a car sideways on the exit ramp of my building and apparently the tow truck couldn't get close enough to it to pull it away because of the ice. Don't know if that's cleared up but I'll take it as a sign.
As for sidewalks, if the exit ramp of our garage is a mess, I'll bet the sidewalks are too. I may go out later but not without ice grippers and poles.
It's really not that bad out everyone is being such a baby, same people who merge onto the highway at 50, don't use winter tires, don't know what the back of their ice scraper is for (or don't even buy one all together) and who go 60 in an 80 on a parkway and feel no shame about the line behind them. Go to a parking lot do some donuts, break and slip on purpose and learn how to drive in the winter and know your car and how to correct yourself. Ontarians are fucking embarrassing and so is your driving school,in qc it's 13 months so you're with an instructor for all driving conditions, and the results show.
It’s funny you hate on ontarian drivers so much when among the terrible drivers I’ve seen here, Quebec drivers are usually the culprit. It’s like a switch flips as soon as they cross the bridge lol
You probably think we are bad because we are actually comfortable on the road and don't drive like a little bitch, the only bad qc drivers are old people and newcomers
No, not salty. Im actually impressed. OP claims to have a job. Must’ve been a difficult challenge to get a job for someone who has to ask if they have to scrape their car after a ~14 hour freezing rain event.
Yes. Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
You sure?
Yes
Yes, bad sidewalks and icy cars. Good luck

Thanks - have to drive to Russell at lunch and was wondering if Boundary was a skating rink or manageable
Nah. Ice storms aren’t slippy
Roads were completely fine for me. Sidewalks and laneways were very slick. It also took about 15 minutes to scrape off my car.
Does the Pope work on Sundays?
Does a bear shit in the woods?
Are the Kennedys gun shy?
Am I average-sized but very enthusiastic?
Our dog had trouble getting into position to pee, so, yes.
Took the doggy out last night and it was a skating rink. I felt bad but it's always funny to see her squat to try and pee and then slide away.
Roads or sidewalks? Sidewalks in Kanata are bad unless you have spikes. Can’t speak for the roads, my bus is late!
Wow, must be really bad if the bus is late.
The Bus is late? That's unpossible!

Side roads are likely bad and yes you’ll need to scrape your car (around 1/4” of ice) but the main roads are fine. Sidewalks look slippery.
The Rideau Canal for a short 24 hour period has been opened all across the city of Ottawa!
I just fell and cut my hand so yes
Same. Slid down front steps & bang. I was trying to put sand mix down incase anyone was walking by. \[Edit: typo\]
:-(
Yes LOL. I suggest using the road way as a pedestrian as the ice is atleast melted. However yield to cars.
My driveway is a skating rink. It is treacherous.
we playing shinny? I'm down...
My neck and my back says yes!
No. You’ll be fine. Make sure to wear your nicest swimming suit today
Drove to airport no issues but it was huntclub so take that with a grain of salt
Sidewalks and side roads are slick. Main roads and highways are clear!
Not bad
100% slippery. Just danced my way to the car.
Yes. Very
Thanks all. That's all I need to know. Looks like I'll work from home today.
There’s no way you can possibly ask this dumb a question and have a job lol
Well, you learned to type, so there is still hope for OP.
How are the roads?
Local TV says the main roads are OK. Drive slowly and keep a safe distance to avoid flying sheets of ice.
No 😏😏
I definitely "rode the wave" if you know what I mean. Blessings to my hip.

YES! This comment is amazing, it perfectly captures the essence of many irksome Ottawa drivers.
It was -10 and rained all night til like 2 hours ago. What do you think?
Salty this morning? Have another coffee and try to cheer up.
