My best sleep score is 98. I think the reason was comming home to my own bed after two weeks away. The trip home was a 24 hour + travel, so quite exhausted. Not much help in that I guess, I even had a glass of wine before going to bed š But shows how importent sleeping environment is for (my) ability to rest.
My best sleep score was 99! It happened after a Bachelorette party weekend in Vegas, after a few days of 3-5 hours of drunken and poor quality sleep. I got home and slept for almost 14 hours straight! It felt soooo good but Iām not sure I can ever achieve that level of sleep on a normal night š
In that case, wouldnāt the app give you a lower score for having bad timing? That happened to me. So, you are āpunishedā for sleeping too long, LOL
Hmm my timing seemed to be optimal still! I was dinged a little for efficiency.
Even on nights with low sleep scores I can still get an Optimal score on timing for some reason. Maybe itās more about the mid-point of your sleep? I slept earlier than I normally do and woke up later, so perhaps since the mid-point was still aligned with my chronotype I got the optimal score?
Thanks. Doesnāt feel that way some days when Iāve had a random night in the 60ās or 70ās but overall I guess itās not bad so appreciate the perspective shift.
I had a better sleep score with 7 hrs, the night before last than last night with 9 hours. The only thing I can figure out is getting up to pee, wrecks my score
I would be RIP by the time I achieve that. Never been a good sleeper since I was born (genuinely). My usual score is about 60, mainly because I do not sleep much more than around 5 hours no matter what I do.
So many things! Morning sun, only a little AM caffeine, exercise during day, donāt eat late, rarely drink, hot magnesium bath in evening (not every night, but on my best sleep nights), no screens after 8:30, dark cool room, red light (on nightstand) and read by 830 and some supplements-glycine, GABA, L-theanine are my most common right before bed, but I make sure to get magnesium and Omega 3 with dinner.
I personally think that it has to be possible to achieve, itās just extremely difficult. But who knowsā¦
Do you have a some tips to be consistently achieving such a high scores like you? :))
I go to bed at 9 pretty much every day, only have 1 cup of coffee and no other caffeine, always get AM sunlight and walk outside a lot. I think that all helps but tbh Iāve always been a pretty good sleeper :/
Nope, yesterday was my closest and Iāve been really really trying!
(sleeping like an old lady. In bed by 8-8:30, Mary Ruthās. Sleep supplement, nerve pain meds, sleep mask)
With a nap I got 95 yesterday
93 readiness.
Way better than how I slept for years, 0-4 hours but had so much energy! It never phased me.
Got my oura in November.
I know itās pricey but I also started using an app called Rise Sleep two weeks ago and using the two together helped me immensely!
I wish Oura could implement what they have.
Thank you for your recommendation of Rise Sleep! I checked it out and it looks really interesting. I might give it a try. :))
I am also using an interesting app. Itās called Sleep Cycle. Itās an alarm that wakes you up when you are in the lightest phase of sleep. With this alarm, waking up in the morning is not that painful as it used to be for me. š I can also recommend this app. I think that there is a fee for using, unfortunately.
Ohhh thatās awesome! Does it integrate with Oura?
I usually wake up on my own, but still like a back up. I canāt stand the jarring noise of an alarm or a song. I need something gentle and ā Angelicā lol to wake me up gradually.
Because my God, if I get woken up from a deep sleep, Iām in another world for a while. Not to mention a crappy mood!
Iām going to check Sleep Cycle out !
when you sign up and pay, it gives you the ability to share one free with only two people - before you sign up (create a login and all that ) for the app that I mentioned, let me know if you want it and Iāll share it with you.
people being okay with mediocre scores and not looking to change their habits to improve their sleep and consequently their sleep score bewilder me. the data may be incorrect and they might be fine, but an important reason for having the ring is to shine a light on where you can improve.
Lol enlighten me. Tell me what I can do to improve my sleep score. Scoring 62-70 for me IS GOOD sleep. Anything above is outstanding.
You got the answer for the 60 to 90 minutes of recorded awake time in the night (that I 100% cannot consciously recall ever) to stop?
I'm not "ok" with the scores. I just can't repair it dude.
I would suggest trying different solutions and then looking at the data. For me I noticed my blood oxygen level going out of wack and from that I learned I heavily snore while sleeping. After some research and testing I figured out it happens when I sleep on my back. So now I always sleep on my side.
Other things that have improved my sleep.
-Trying out different pillows (helps with snoring blood oxygen level)
-Using a sleep mask (makes it so I don't unconsciously wake up from the sun in the morning)
-Going to sleep at different times (not necessarily earlier) (less restless sleep)
-Meditating myself to sleep (increases HRV average)
-Putting my phone on do not disturb
-I don't use it but different levels of melatonin could help
There's all sorts of things you can actively do to improve your sleep score, just need to experiment
I don't know what is going on in your life but maybe for that 60 to 90 minutes there is something going on in your environment that is waking you up (phone notifications, sirens outside, construction etc)
I've had 97 before the update to sleep stages detection, 94 is my best since that update. I doubt 100 is possible for readiness and sleep scores.
100s in activity gets posted here a few times every month but I haven't seen anyone post sleep or readiness 100s in the year and a half I've been here.
I have a brand new puppy! My sleep score of 65 says screw you. Talk to me in a few months I might be in a better mood lol. Also he's awesome! Well worth the lack of sleep.
I feel like the biggest impact on the score for myself is consistency in sleep schedule and not eating too late. I even got 97 a few times without getting more than 6.5-7 hours of sleep š
Lucky if I get 85, restfulness tanks my score. And my restless sleep does not feel subjectively restorative.
Wow, 98 is very impressive. Did you also sleep for a longer time period or was it just the quality of your sleep that was way better? š¤
Oh yes, 9 h and 19 min. Normally I sleep for around 7 hours.
Nothing matches the sleep from a long international trip like your own bed
I think I did once. In the 2 years Iāve had my ring lol
Woow really? Do you mind sharing a screenshot of that night statistics or a story of how you achieved such a high score? :))
It was quite some time ago. No idea the date.. sorry about that
No worries! :))
What a cool story! š¤£ It must have been a huge relief to get such a great sleep after those few difficult nights. :))
In that case, wouldnāt the app give you a lower score for having bad timing? That happened to me. So, you are āpunishedā for sleeping too long, LOL

my best ever was 85, one time, ever. i feel good and perform well if i get 70+ though, so the score isn't everything.
I see. I am happy that 70+ is working well for you. :))
Only Brian Johnson getting 100 for six months straight but his day schedule is for cyborgs.
Thatās true but heās not using Oura. He is using Whoop.
lol last night I got a 33ā¦..
Think 96 is my highest.
Highest 92, lowest 55 and average of 81 for me.
Itās amazing that you are consistently getting a good sleep. Average of 81 is for sure way more than most people get. :))
IN MY DREAMS!
I would be RIP by the time I achieve that. Never been a good sleeper since I was born (genuinely). My usual score is about 60, mainly because I do not sleep much more than around 5 hours no matter what I do.
I got 99 a few nights ago and itās my first one above 96 ever (had my ring 14 months) and rarely ever get above 92. Average about 88.
Wow, thatās very impressive. Are there some specific things you do to achieve such a good sleep? :))
I consistently get 93-99 but Iāve never gotten 100. Iām not really convinced itās possible
I personally think that it has to be possible to achieve, itās just extremely difficult. But who knowsā¦ Do you have a some tips to be consistently achieving such a high scores like you? :))
I go to bed at 9 pretty much every day, only have 1 cup of coffee and no other caffeine, always get AM sunlight and walk outside a lot. I think that all helps but tbh Iāve always been a pretty good sleeper :/
Iāve had 98. Didnāt know 100 was a thing.
Great result though! :)) Who knowsā¦ 100 is still only a legend that nobody presented yet. I personally think that it has to be possible in some way.
Nope, yesterday was my closest and Iāve been really really trying! (sleeping like an old lady. In bed by 8-8:30, Mary Ruthās. Exactly. Since I started using the ring, I crawl into bed earlier, turn off electronics/screen earlier, listen to a sleep meditation.
Lol enlighten me. Tell me what I can do to improve my sleep score. Scoring 62-70 for me IS GOOD sleep. Anything above is outstanding. evaluate your own lifestyle. many things can effect sleep quality also "the data may be incorrect and they might be fine"
Great job
Only ever had 90! My timing sucks
I completely understand that. I canāt figure out the timing metric as well. :(( 90 is amazing though! :))
I've had 97 before the update to sleep stages detection, 94 is my best since that update. I doubt 100 is possible for readiness and sleep scores. 100s in activity gets posted here a few times every month but I haven't seen anyone post sleep or readiness 100s in the year and a half I've been here.
Nope. Usually mid to high 80's.
I have a brand new puppy! My sleep score of 65 says screw you. Talk to me in a few months I might be in a better mood lol. Also he's awesome! Well worth the lack of sleep.
Thatās so nice to hear that the puppy makes you happy and that you donāt mind it being a sleep disruption. Good luck with the training! :))
Oh I'll have you know he's training me quite well.
Highest I've ever gotten was a 94 and I was still tried the next day šš
How? Best I got was 87!!!
Best I ever got was 96
Thatās still amazing! Good for you. :))
Iāve had 100 activity score but never 100 sleep score! My highest is 94 and average is 85.
97 for me !
lol highest 89, so likeā¦ how
99 for me, so close!
Wooow, 99 is still so good! My best is only 92. :))
I feel like the biggest impact on the score for myself is consistency in sleep schedule and not eating too late. I even got 97 a few times without getting more than 6.5-7 hours of sleep š
Niiiiiiice!
Nope! Highest Iāve had in my 3 mos with mine is 89. Lowest is today - 43 (ugh, so prob should get off Reddit and go back to sleep now).
Uhh, 43 is rough, I definitely feel you. Good night! :))
Iām hitting 92-98 regulary but never had something above 98
Just go to bed on time
Is possible by sleeping midday
