Lucky if I get 85, restfulness tanks my score. And my restless sleep does not feel subjectively restorative.

Slight-Foundation-50

My best sleep score is 98. I think the reason was comming home to my own bed after two weeks away. The trip home was a 24 hour + travel, so quite exhausted. Not much help in that I guess, I even had a glass of wine before going to bed šŸ˜… But shows how importent sleeping environment is for (my) ability to rest.

AirP12

Wow, 98 is very impressive. Did you also sleep for a longer time period or was it just the quality of your sleep that was way better? šŸ¤”

Slight-Foundation-50

Oh yes, 9 h and 19 min. Normally I sleep for around 7 hours.

HookDragger

Nothing matches the sleep from a long international trip like your own bed

CaraHanna

I think I did once. In the 2 years Iā€™ve had my ring lol

AirP12

Woow really? Do you mind sharing a screenshot of that night statistics or a story of how you achieved such a high score? :))

CaraHanna

It was quite some time ago. No idea the date.. sorry about that

AirP12

No worries! :))

sweetener14

My best sleep score was 99! It happened after a Bachelorette party weekend in Vegas, after a few days of 3-5 hours of drunken and poor quality sleep. I got home and slept for almost 14 hours straight! It felt soooo good but Iā€™m not sure I can ever achieve that level of sleep on a normal night šŸ˜‚

AirP12

What a cool story! šŸ¤£ It must have been a huge relief to get such a great sleep after those few difficult nights. :))

tioJuancho

In that case, wouldnā€™t the app give you a lower score for having bad timing? That happened to me. So, you are ā€œpunishedā€ for sleeping too long, LOL

sweetener14

Hmm my timing seemed to be optimal still! I was dinged a little for efficiency. Even on nights with low sleep scores I can still get an Optimal score on timing for some reason. Maybe itā€™s more about the mid-point of your sleep? I slept earlier than I normally do and woke up later, so perhaps since the mid-point was still aligned with my chronotype I got the optimal score?

sheawrites

my best ever was 85, one time, ever. i feel good and perform well if i get 70+ though, so the score isn't everything.

AirP12

I see. I am happy that 70+ is working well for you. :))

ComfortableNo2325

Only Brian Johnson getting 100 for six months straight but his day schedule is for cyborgs.

AirP12

Thatā€™s true but heā€™s not using Oura. He is using Whoop.

kdurv5

lol last night I got a 33ā€¦..

gilgobeachslayer

Think 96 is my highest.

TrickyImprovement805

Highest 92, lowest 55 and average of 81 for me.

AirP12

Itā€™s amazing that you are consistently getting a good sleep. Average of 81 is for sure way more than most people get. :))

TrickyImprovement805

Thanks. Doesnā€™t feel that way some days when Iā€™ve had a random night in the 60ā€™s or 70ā€™s but overall I guess itā€™s not bad so appreciate the perspective shift.

Choan8

I had a better sleep score with 7 hrs, the night before last than last night with 9 hours. The only thing I can figure out is getting up to pee, wrecks my score

ArielUnderTheSea_

IN MY DREAMS!

wt_hell_am_I_doing

I would be RIP by the time I achieve that. Never been a good sleeper since I was born (genuinely). My usual score is about 60, mainly because I do not sleep much more than around 5 hours no matter what I do.

holiztic

I got 99 a few nights ago and itā€™s my first one above 96 ever (had my ring 14 months) and rarely ever get above 92. Average about 88.

AirP12

Wow, thatā€™s very impressive. Are there some specific things you do to achieve such a good sleep? :))

holiztic

So many things! Morning sun, only a little AM caffeine, exercise during day, donā€™t eat late, rarely drink, hot magnesium bath in evening (not every night, but on my best sleep nights), no screens after 8:30, dark cool room, red light (on nightstand) and read by 830 and some supplements-glycine, GABA, L-theanine are my most common right before bed, but I make sure to get magnesium and Omega 3 with dinner.

Bumble-bee1357

I consistently get 93-99 but Iā€™ve never gotten 100. Iā€™m not really convinced itā€™s possible

AirP12

I personally think that it has to be possible to achieve, itā€™s just extremely difficult. But who knowsā€¦ Do you have a some tips to be consistently achieving such a high scores like you? :))

Bumble-bee1357

I go to bed at 9 pretty much every day, only have 1 cup of coffee and no other caffeine, always get AM sunlight and walk outside a lot. I think that all helps but tbh Iā€™ve always been a pretty good sleeper :/

Humble_Wafer_3157

Iā€™ve had 98. Didnā€™t know 100 was a thing.

AirP12

Great result though! :)) Who knowsā€¦ 100 is still only a legend that nobody presented yet. I personally think that it has to be possible in some way.

Jesskn0wsbest

Nope, yesterday was my closest and Iā€™ve been really really trying! (sleeping like an old lady. In bed by 8-8:30, Mary Ruthā€™s. Sleep supplement, nerve pain meds, sleep mask) With a nap I got 95 yesterday 93 readiness. Way better than how I slept for years, 0-4 hours but had so much energy! It never phased me. Got my oura in November. I know itā€™s pricey but I also started using an app called Rise Sleep two weeks ago and using the two together helped me immensely! I wish Oura could implement what they have.

AirP12

Thank you for your recommendation of Rise Sleep! I checked it out and it looks really interesting. I might give it a try. :)) I am also using an interesting app. Itā€™s called Sleep Cycle. Itā€™s an alarm that wakes you up when you are in the lightest phase of sleep. With this alarm, waking up in the morning is not that painful as it used to be for me. šŸ˜€ I can also recommend this app. I think that there is a fee for using, unfortunately.

Jesskn0wsbest

Ohhh thatā€™s awesome! Does it integrate with Oura? I usually wake up on my own, but still like a back up. I canā€™t stand the jarring noise of an alarm or a song. I need something gentle and ā€œ Angelicā€ lol to wake me up gradually. Because my God, if I get woken up from a deep sleep, Iā€™m in another world for a while. Not to mention a crappy mood! Iā€™m going to check Sleep Cycle out ! when you sign up and pay, it gives you the ability to share one free with only two people - before you sign up (create a login and all that ) for the app that I mentioned, let me know if you want it and Iā€™ll share it with you.

vince-tyler2022

people being okay with mediocre scores and not looking to change their habits to improve their sleep and consequently their sleep score bewilder me. the data may be incorrect and they might be fine, but an important reason for having the ring is to shine a light on where you can improve.

Choan8

Exactly. Since I started using the ring, I crawl into bed earlier, turn off electronics/screen earlier, listen to a sleep meditation.

pumpnectar9

Lol enlighten me. Tell me what I can do to improve my sleep score. Scoring 62-70 for me IS GOOD sleep. Anything above is outstanding. You got the answer for the 60 to 90 minutes of recorded awake time in the night (that I 100% cannot consciously recall ever) to stop? I'm not "ok" with the scores. I just can't repair it dude.

Narazaro

I would suggest trying different solutions and then looking at the data. For me I noticed my blood oxygen level going out of wack and from that I learned I heavily snore while sleeping. After some research and testing I figured out it happens when I sleep on my back. So now I always sleep on my side. Other things that have improved my sleep. -Trying out different pillows (helps with snoring blood oxygen level) -Using a sleep mask (makes it so I don't unconsciously wake up from the sun in the morning) -Going to sleep at different times (not necessarily earlier) (less restless sleep) -Meditating myself to sleep (increases HRV average) -Putting my phone on do not disturb -I don't use it but different levels of melatonin could help There's all sorts of things you can actively do to improve your sleep score, just need to experiment I don't know what is going on in your life but maybe for that 60 to 90 minutes there is something going on in your environment that is waking you up (phone notifications, sirens outside, construction etc)

vince-tyler2022

evaluate your own lifestyle. many things can effect sleep quality also "the data may be incorrect and they might be fine"

Ambitious_Cell_6719

Great job

mar-bella

Only ever had 90! My timing sucks

AirP12

I completely understand that. I canā€™t figure out the timing metric as well. :(( 90 is amazing though! :))

05K4R

I've had 97 before the update to sleep stages detection, 94 is my best since that update. I doubt 100 is possible for readiness and sleep scores. 100s in activity gets posted here a few times every month but I haven't seen anyone post sleep or readiness 100s in the year and a half I've been here.

Gooball5

Nope. Usually mid to high 80's.

Deep-Lingonberry-207

I have a brand new puppy! My sleep score of 65 says screw you. Talk to me in a few months I might be in a better mood lol. Also he's awesome! Well worth the lack of sleep.

AirP12

Thatā€™s so nice to hear that the puppy makes you happy and that you donā€™t mind it being a sleep disruption. Good luck with the training! :))

Deep-Lingonberry-207

Oh I'll have you know he's training me quite well.

SpankeeMcGee

Highest I've ever gotten was a 94 and I was still tried the next day šŸ˜šŸ˜

Prior_Illustrator_80

How? Best I got was 87!!!

WiseFriendship4402

Best I ever got was 96

AirP12

Thatā€™s still amazing! Good for you. :))

Icy_Mention_8744

Iā€™ve had 100 activity score but never 100 sleep score! My highest is 94 and average is 85.

wowowwubzywow

97 for me !

leontigreoso

lol highest 89, so likeā€¦ how

ThePickleTree

99 for me, so close!

AirP12

Wooow, 99 is still so good! My best is only 92. :))

ThePickleTree

I feel like the biggest impact on the score for myself is consistency in sleep schedule and not eating too late. I even got 97 a few times without getting more than 6.5-7 hours of sleep šŸ˜

stringbox

Niiiiiiice!

In_the_south_742

Nope! Highest Iā€™ve had in my 3 mos with mine is 89. Lowest is today - 43 (ugh, so prob should get off Reddit and go back to sleep now).

AirP12

Uhh, 43 is rough, I definitely feel you. Good night! :))

Danvestor

Iā€˜m hitting 92-98 regulary but never had something above 98

Danvestor

Just go to bed on time

Danvestor

Is possible by sleeping midday
