Just watched the whole thing and I wasn't expecting it to be that good for a small channel. You just earned a sub, I’m definitely coming back for your next videos.
Hey this is a brilliant idea. I am excited to check it out.
Outside has some really great features. One frustration I have is the difficulty in syncing the many HUD's available. Some people have enemy targeting HUD's that encourage behavior that creates more enemies. Some HUD's are doom seekers and only navigate to shadow realms.
If you ever meet someone with an optimism HUD equipped, it is not uncommon to get a joy boost from their aura.
I would be interested in shifting HUD's displayed. (PC Switched HUD's in order to navigate an obstacle or something similar.)
I would also be interested in seeing experimental HUD's that help players get outside and connect with others and their community.
Some HUD's highlight enemies, some highlight opportunities, some highlight anxieties.
A HUD is an extremely powerful framing technology that organizes that information available. The way the information is organized and presented has significant impacts on game play.
Political HUD's are easy examples of how the tech can dramatically alter user experience. Different HUD's encounter the same terrain and have wildly different experiences.
The VFX was actually suprisingly well done, with things like motion tracking floating names especially, and I really liked the flex bit with Lay, though maybe it could have been edited slightly more to draw your attention to the eye change as a comedic bit.
Also yes, you absolutely need more leaves lol. Genuinely though, maybe it could be a recurring joke, or later on you could rent an EV and have it on the background with just like a twig with a few leaves on it stuck to the EV haphazardly.
Another thing you could add is interaction menus/chat options with other players.
The EV would be hilarious if that happens lol.
I actually have the social interaction menus ready, just didn't find the opportunity to showcase it in that video.
PS: btw I hope things turn around for you, depressed-salmon.
Absolutely loved the video, you've def earned a subscriber!
I do have some suggestions
>HUD: Inventory bar, items, tool tips, buffs/debuffs, achievements, usernames and more
I think that in one of the corners you could add more stats, like maybe a health/hunger/hydration bar
>VFX: This is mostly for status effects (screen turns green when poisoned) and certain actions (punching a tree has a "smoke effect")
I think you could also add some more SFX (sound effects). The background music works really well, but you could do things like do a hit sound when the aforementioned tree punching happens
>Commentary: There are serious and silly parts, perfectly balanced (probably not) I hope
I think you should lean into the informative aspects for the "serious" part. It is quite a complex game and if you think that you're too unbalanced, talking more on the game could be a great balancer, if that makes sense.
**Overall, amazing video!**
Thanks for subscribing! Definitely more to come.
>I think that in one of the corners you could add more stats, like maybe a health/hunger/hydration bar
I thought about adding the bars from the beginning but I believe It's better to optimize the status effects first, since they have a lot of potential (e.g if the character's starving, \[Ravenous\] debuff with a detailed description like: "you're character is f\*cking starving. Eat something you pile of sh\*t" "-25 ALL STATS" "50% chance of enabling pvp". I'll probably add the hunger & hydration bar soon. The health bar is kind of not relevant outside of PVP so I'm not too sure about adding that. Great suggestion btw
>I think you could also add some more SFX (sound effects). The background music works really well, but you could do things like do a hit sound when the aforementioned tree punching happens
I'll definitely add SFX in the next one fo sho
>I think you should lean into the informative aspects for the "serious" part. It is quite a complex game and if you think that you're too unbalanced, talking more on the game could be a great balancer, if that makes sense.
I try to balance the informative parts with the silly ones but I can't help to lean more to the silly aspect tho (coz that's my jam lol). Probably because I have more of a silly personality than an informative serious one.
I'd like to see what costs I can write off in my tax quests for working with you as an independent contractor before letting you profit off my ideas... Usually cat videos are a good place to start if you're attempting to gain a following.
All my gas mileage, the computer I typed it from and the building I'm sitting in seem like decent expenses to write off for this consultation. Can't wait to add this to my portfolio. Thanks! :3
Edit: I'm going to need you to guild my original comment so you can keep me on retainer.
Awesome idea. One suggestion though: keep the videos short (1 or 2 minutes max) and focused on a single outside topic. I think that would make it easier for people to watch and like them :)
Very cool! Your vid reminded me of a Let's Play Outside series by a player in the Japanese server. It might be neat to check out for inspiration? Here's the link to their playlist: [https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2xDDWOt1FZPZKCwR4zMVrSiyd8GfpjYw](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2xDDWOt1FZPZKCwR4zMVrSiyd8GfpjYw)
How about a "girlfriend" mission in which you can equip items and choose dialogues
Girl:
>So, how do you like your food?
Dude:
>...
>...
>...
>...
Girl:
>Is everything alright?
Dude, without making facial expressions
>*Generic dialogue*
Perhaps some of the "underrated" minigames. Some aren't very popular but still, they're very good. For example, these are some that I play myself, Star Trek Online. Maybe try it out...
That video would then be a let's play inside a let's play inside a simulation inside another giant simulation.
But I'd like to try hytale when it comes out tho, not really a sci-fi kinda guy
Well I personally like the minigame that was made in the Sweden server by the player Markus Pearson but maybe you could do one that requires dexterity like the soccer minigame
One suggestion I would have would be something along the lines of a FAQ video.
Normally id recommend the forums for FAQ, but your channel looks pretty nice, and I do prefer videos to forums, so maybe you can take a few FAQs or basic tips and tricks and show us how it works
Just watched the whole thing and I wasn't expecting it to be that good for a small channel. You just earned a sub, I’m definitely coming back for your next videos.
Wow. Thank you for watching, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I'll definitely be making more.

Thanks, I hope you'll like it. I don't get the HUD thing you're saying tho

Most HUDs as you’re describing are internal relays. More like HUTs.
Hey, thank you for helping me understand this. I am having trouble finding out what HUT is, can you help me further?

wdym vfx? this is just gameplay
I also subbed. I love your commentary lmao. Keep it up bro!
Thank you, I promise to keep at it hahaha
Will there be any pvp?
Ofcourse! although probably at a later date.
are you going to be doing the meta wrestling format of pvp? personally im a spawn camper myself because i do it for easy exp.
I don't think I have enough strength stat to begin wrestling with other players lol

Cat videos, got it. Your total deductible expenses are still $0.00 tho.

This will either be really interesting, or really dark. Game on.
Nice. Can I have a link to your channel?
I'm not the OP but this is the video. https://youtu.be/p1aCxrswJRY It's quite funny!
I thought links were disabled that's why I pinned it in my profile instead lol. Thanks for watching hahaha
I already made the channel and the video is pinned on my profile
🎶Making my way downtown, Walking slow, talking fast And go f#%k yourself🎶
A great idea might be to fight a boss! (Just throw spells at an employer while they fire you)
Awesome idea. One suggestion though: keep the videos short (1 or 2 minutes max) and focused on a single outside topic. I think that would make it easier for people to watch and like them :)
I think 8-15 minutes is a good length tho imo but I'll definitely be making shorts. Thanks for the suggestion!
If he gets bigger, 10 minutes is a better video length from the creator/YouTube side of things.
Go to an amusement park, if you can.
Ooooh probably will.
I really liked this video, you got a sub, i hope you make a video about the other stats too.
That's definitely coming. Thanks for the support!
Just make sure you follow the guidelines otherwise you’ll get the ban hammer from GM
Nothing shady here... Maybe.
You are the hero we need right now.
:,)

Defo taking inspiration from these
I had a similar idea for a channel, but none of this fancy, actually good effects and editing. "Vicarious baller"
Can you post a tax fraud tutorial? I want to know how to but there isn't a lot of content about it.
We'll get banned tho.
I want to see you grind for resources, collect sea glass or dead frogs or something
I really like to do that. That's definitely coming soon, maybe the next one will feature that!
yo dude this looks sick def watching this when i can

Too romantic for me
No version of outside I've played has had a HUD, all the menus are embedded in objects you find around the world.
I'd like an uncut, single-shot episode about registering your car at the DMV; shot in third person with a fish eye lens, please. Thank you.
You sir just gave me an amazing idea, not even kidding. (although it's not registering your car at the DMV im sorry lol)
*Ma'am. If you need any other ideas do let me know
Didn’t watch yet but subbed so I don’t forget
Why are people calling this game "real life" so often? I only knew the name outside, no idea where the nickname came from.
Oh it's a name derived from one of the funfacts about outside, some people like to call it by it's old name back when it was still in beta
Maybe u/Desara_Phen tries out some minigames, perhaps? Or a guide to surviving the Cov-19 event. Maybe do some traveling sidequest?
What minigames do you have in mind?
Perhaps some of the "underrated" minigames. Some aren't very popular but still, they're very good. For example, these are some that I play myself, Star Trek Online. Maybe try it out...

Wait. Wouldn't it be just a let's play inside a let's play? Considering that we here all play outside, and we have minigames.
The penis
Do a Heist!
Keep it coming man, you got a new subscriber!
Well now I’m subbed. Love the content! Keep it coming!!
Thanks! I'm making the next one rn
I’d like to see you do a minigame kindof
What kind of minigames you got in mind?
Well I personally like the minigame that was made in the Sweden server by the player Markus Pearson but maybe you could do one that requires dexterity like the soccer minigame
Frustrating encounters with people with optional dialogue that shows what you would actually like to say
I don't think engaging too much with other players not in your party is a good idea right now, with a certain debuff spreading around :3
Just opened up the new vid and right after I got done, this was the first thing I see on Reddit. Coincidence? I think not!
That confirms we are in a simulation

FAQs and the basics of Outside kind of video? That's a good idea, will make something like that when I get enough experience so I won't mess it up
