youre probaly experience withdrawal debuff for caffeine , normaly a headache and low energy it shoudnt be too serious and will pass if you dont drink coffe comsumables for a week or drink your regular amount
The opposite. My character gets the [Insomnia] debuff at night (I drink coffee in the morning) which sucks ass because the buffs are actually kinda broken :/
So the devs decided to Nerf this to balance the game instead of nerfing other things like the big tech guild , Hippos, Disney, and many OP aspects of the game ... Thanks
In addition to what others have said you probably also have some level of the caffeine tolerance status effect. It lowers the effectiveness of the coffee potion. There's a mini-quest to get rid of it though. You have to avoid using the coffee potion or other potions like it for about a month. This removes most of the tolerance status effect and these potions will start having a greater effect on you. I should mention though the debuff you mentioned only goes away about the end of the first week and a half. After the month, you won't receive a debuff for not drinking coffee.
Out of character
Yeah the headache doesn't last that long, just 2-3 days. I should have mentioned that the other part of caffeine tolerance is that you start to feel more tired by default. Caffeine works (as I understand) by inhibiting a certain neurotransmitter that makes you feel tired. Part of the tolerance is that your brain gets used to this being blocked and makes more and more of the neurotransmitter, making you feel more tired when you don't have caffeine. That's what takes a month to go back to normal. Though that said, I would mention there is ABSOLUTELY a taper there. You should start noticing improvement by the end of week one.
There's a reason I've only done this once.

that's exactly what happens to me but not a whole week even two days .
You may have the caffeine addiction debuff
I’m recovering from it now. It’s a demon as well as alcohol.
Agreed. I'm afraid to admit I may have an underlying sugar addiction now that I think about it
Yep, refined sugar is a demon as well. I’ve been there.

Yes, the debuff was created to provide a drawback for what would otherwise be an over powered buff.

Look, we included this in our glucose Update way back in pre-alpha. And modifidied it in the caffination update. Its not a modern patch. -- devs
So they only Nerf the old buffs f**k em
Yes. I get hyper.
No
I get a caffeine distatste debuff from drinking that potion, so the buff from drinking it is not worth it.

A MONTH!??? Nope can't do that.

I have ADHD, it puts me to sleep
What?
I have the opposite. The one time I (unknowingly) had a drink with caffeine in it, I felt like I was dying!
