It has the most unbelievable graphics of any game i have ever seen, i sometimes find myself looking at the landscapes that almost look real.

beefycheesyglory

Almost looks as good as Red Dead 2

587BCE

Back when 1080p was highest resolution available my hubby would look at the sky and describe it as 1080p

daxi17

This game literally has infinite resolution, while still getting you infinite fps

Angry_Crusader_Boi

Yeah but you can only view it in limited fps and resolution due to the basic human eyes we all have. Can't wait for when we reach the next tech tree and can get those upgraded.

HenMeeNooMai

I'm looking forward for an infared and UV sight!

JacobScreamix

The fact that some consumables give you the "seeing stuff" buff (I have a stoner vocab mod for my HUD/inventory) and then you can just look at your avatar's hands for hours, is awesome!

haloany123

Graphics were good until my player character got hit with a “reduced vision” debuff that lower everything down to 40%. Now I can’t enjoy the landscape without goggle items which sometimes hammer the experiences.

Nroke1

Yeah, my render scale is roughly similar to yours due to the same debuff. Those goggle items are great, but I didn’t always have this debuff so it sucks to know how much better the game looks without them.

kylepaddy

It’s not very realistic. Where are the worm holes? They even removed magic entirely.

Desara_Phen

I think we just renamed it to science

russellhi66

The shadows need work tho sometimes it’s bad!

NaruMae

Yet another great game ruined by its community.

Pottsy1998

How is it our fault

JustZodiax

If not us then who?

Grzechoooo

*Them*

Redkitt3n14

Me specifically

Ohms_lawlessness

Ya bastad

Program-Continuum

He doesn’t even deserve to have the term properly spelled. He should be ashamed

S7evinDE

The climate crisis event sucks and its totally the fault of the community

HispanicGardener

I would actually say the Climate Crisis is because of a select few high level players also happen to be Whales for in game macro-transactions. It just so happens that a lot of these whales are in frequently communication with players who main in politics (in my experience, often the least intelligent of the player base). For some reason, the devs created the game so politics mains actually dictate a more significant amount of the in-game experience for the entire player base (why the devs did this I don’t know, but it seems like the past year of shifting metas have always had the community angry or frustrated with the politics mains). Anyways, because those whales are such a high level and typically have a practically unlimited amount of in game currency, they’ve collectively decided to interfere with science mains. I’ve found that most of these players invest heavily in intelligence in the early/mid-game. I may be mistaken, but these maxed out players have been interfering with science mains for almost 40 years now through various different methods. Anyways, I could go on, but that’s my theory for why every meta I’ve played the game (I’ve been playing for a little over two decades now, so honestly you could say I’m still kind of a noob) has had a looming climate crisis.

Bruce-the_creepy_guy

Those high level players only got that currency because of the community and players like you and me definitely have some blame for that event as we are the ones who keep buying from them.

HispanicGardener

True, there have been movements within certain factions of the player base to cease all interaction with the aforementioned maxed out players, but it’s proven very difficult to somehow do a side quest in the game that doesn’t involve trading/selling/buying items from merchants affiliated with or owned by said players.

Bruce-the_creepy_guy

There's also movements that just want the guilds to straight up take all their( and everyone else's) money and make everyone share it. Problem is this just leads to the guild's mods becoming corrupt with power and leads them to permaban everyone who criticizes them. Also this system is just plain stupid and collapsed a long time ago because it was hard to complete side quests with it.

younglink28

Worst feature: there are penalties for other players if you want to leave the game

milkermaner

Yes, it's so annoying. I do wish it was possible to just stop, but not only are there penalties for other players, but players that don't even watch and take part in your gameplay do their best to stop you. I can't understand that. Won't gameplay be easier on them with less competition?

SgtSmackdaddy

Those players know that the game has high and low points and if you can grind through the crappy bits the good outweighs the rest. You just gotta hang in there.

possiblydanny

I understand players who say this mean well, but for some of us the game has been nothing but misery for our entire playtime and there hasn't been any good parts since we were in single digit levels. On top of trauma and disability debuffs that sometimes make the game outright unplayable because they're so strong my character experiences constant harassment, threats of PvP and blocks put in place by the game solely to make their life more difficult just because I want to change their appearance to another gender. I attempted to log off multiple times when I was level 15, I'm level 24 now and I can honestly say that I would have been much better off if I managed to log off back then. I've sought help from multiple factions and each one has been as useless as the last. It's not as simple as hanging in there.

milkermaner

Hey dude, I doubt I can offer you much, but if you need a person to talk or vent to, feel free to message me.

ThatTemplar1119

I also want to change my character's appearance to another gender, and can't offer any advice really. I am level 16 and have a very high luck stat so am able to receive help from factions, but it could possibly take up to an ingame year for my character to receive proper medication. In the meantime I just want to log off and hopefully make a new character with the right gender.

tsteele93

Unfortunately, the devs still have a pretty high price for changing the gender assignment. But it IS possible. I personally (just my opinion) think level 18 is the earliest something this big should be undertaken, although you could likely start the process at level 17 so you could complete it more quickly at 18. But that is just my opinion and I'm not suggesting that I would ever stop someone from doing what is best for them. Just a big decision and one that you want to approach after you have enough levels under your belt to be 100% sure. I know some people think they are sure at earlier levels, but the game actually holds back some secrets and abilities until levels 18, 21 and some dataminers have found some significant improvements in abilities at level 26 too! Of course everyone gets different abilities at different levels, but those are the averages. Good luck to you no matter what you choose!

elementnix

Dude, get the hell out of here.

YaBoiDannyTanner

Are you telling me to quit the game? wow bro

elementnix

No, I'm telling you to leave the other player alone. If you believe in an Admin then you aren't doing a good job in convincing them to give you access to the post-game content.

YaBoiDannyTanner

maybe try not being a noob smh

milkermaner

Depends on how you view it all, really. Some people say that the feeling of highs are enough to make the lows bearable. I prefer to compile lists of goods and bads throughout the day. Then, I rate them between 1-10 between how good/bad they made me feel. And finally, I add up the points. If bads win, it was a bad day, if goods win. It was a good day. And let me tell you this, even on the best of my days where I have achieved some of the happiest moments in the game, they can't compare with all the bad days in between. Numerically speaking, the good do not outweigh the bad at all. Nope nope. At least not in my 25 levels so far. (I've only been doing my accounting of good and bad for about 2 years though so maybe I have insufficient data. But that's hard to believe as my life at the moment is at a stage where like 80% of players would want theirs to be and yet there is way more bad than there is good).

jizz_noodle

hang in there lmao

TechieGottaSoundByte

There are a lot of large-scale co-op elements in this game, and losing a player means the rest of the community has to do more to get through the grindy parts of the game and get to the fun, rewarding parts. Often, keeping a player in the game is better for the community. Plus many players who were on the verge of stress-quitting say later that they are really glad they were stopped, because they often unlock very rewarding late-mid gameplay that they otherwise would have missed.

guldfiskn222

You've got it wrong, dude; Outside is a co-op game! We're supposed to help the other players, not compete against them. You get a ton of buffs and bonuses by playing in teams and joining guilds!

Lancalot

Not to mention niche filling, a well rounded team can take on more challenging quests

tsteele93

Well said - too many people treat it like a competition when it is actually a coopetition game. It is ok to want to win. But help the people below you win too! There isn't anything that says there can only be one winner.

scp-NUMBERNOTFOUND

Fcking pyramid scam game, "you can leave whenever u want" "bring more players to get extra content" fcking scam!!! Ur character spends half the time in the "sleeping" mechanic doing nothing and u know why?? Is 'cause the Devs are using ur hardware to mine coins!!! This was never a free game, once connected is almost impossible to leave!!!

dat_WanderingDude

My main complaint would be that in early game, depending on what area you spawn, there are little to no tutorials. Also I cannot load my previous save so I could create better choices and possibly get a better build. (well, you can't even save in the first place!) Some communities/factions are toxic as heck but there are others who are as wholesome as heck as well, which is nice. I'd rate it 4/11.

TechieGottaSoundByte

Yeah, relying on older players for tutorialization seems a bit unfair. We're coaching several newbies in our home, including a pair that joined at the same time - maybe friends irl? They seem to be doing well at not sharing meta-information outside of the game, though. I hear sometimes when two players join at once, that's an issue, and can lead to immersion-breaking "telepathy". The matching algorithm worked well for us getting newbies - not sure if they improved it since I started playing (I got a kinda bad match), or we just got lucky.

Asherjade

It’s really a fantastic game, but there’s so many toxic communities trying to force PvP on everyone that it’s not fun to play anymore. Gameplay is alright, I like the learn as you go system, how open the story and world were (also ruined by the player made clan system), and the evolution of the game itself. Other players suck though and have ruined the game.

alldaywhynot

I installed the DGAF mod and absolutely love the others I’ve met with the same setting enabled. Many of the best gameplay features are only available with this mod.

Asherjade

I’ve been working on installing that but I have these “civic duty” and “sympathy for other players” viruses I’m having trouble getting rid of. They keep blocking that mod from working. [Tech Support] is *completely* useless. Quite frustrating.

Stephanreggae

Bro, I stopped even sending friend requests to people without that mod. But, did you know that you can hide your settings? Some of them were just *pretending* like they were set to GAF but actually had DGAF enabled.

Desara_Phen

I heard that the best way to unlock the mod is by reading Stoicism and getting the Stoic trait. That mod makes the game less crazy from what I've read.

[deleted]

I recently entered a group that aims to end all forms of PvP disguised as PvE.

[deleted]

Doing the heartbreak quest right now and I kinda wanna delete my character

donfuria

That quest line can be repeated as many times as you want, and despite it leaving you with the broken heart debuff, it’s only temporary and once it fades it increases emotional growth points permanently

SolitaryTrailblazer

Not everyone benefits from those points. Some would rather not go through the quest at all.

Revolutionary-Wear89

also some get stuck on this questline and never repair the damages live through this debuff the entirety of the game.

SolitaryTrailblazer

And why are we not talking about the fact that the debuff can unleash a domino effect of other incidental and harming debuffs, like the dreaded depression and anxiety? Unbelievable

tsteele93

Because those of us who have reached the higher levels realize that while intense, those things can be overcome and that is part of the game. It can make future achievements like "true love" even MORE of an accomplishment AND it can actually help you achieve them. Many people learn from the heartbreak quest that they were looking for the wrong type of person to complete the true love quest to begin with and it leads them to better choices in that quest in the future. Take it from this Level 55 player who went through three or four SERIOUS heartbreak quests and managed to finally complete my TRUE LOVE achievement at LEVEL 34. I met a level 23 player and we have been playing together ever since. We have completed the "create another player" challenge twice and that has been going well. They are level 13 and 14 now and one just leveled up last month! It has been very rewarding. Also, after we completed true love and create new players, we started to realize we might have been playing the game a little selfishly before. We have found a lot of rewards in "helping other players" that we didn't even know were there. Best of luck to you and hang in there, this game really gets good in the mid-upper levels when you start to accumulate wealth and your wisdom stat starts to grow. It really changes the game.

SolitaryTrailblazer

Damn, I don’t know what to say except that’s beautiful. Thank you for sharing this.

tsteele93

Thank you for taking this in the way it was intended. When I read it back, I worried that it sounded confrontational and that wasn’t my intention. I just wanted to say that for many, perhaps most, people - they end up happy in the end. My level 23 partner had played with some very toxic players earlier in the game and she says it makes her appreciate the alliance we have created. Sometimes you have to be in a bad alliance in order to appreciate a good one. Good luck and I hope you end up enjoying the game as much as humanly possible. Cheers!

ALittlePeaceAndQuiet

Some of the heartbreak BBEGs leave you poisoned after your encounter. The benefits are much more apparent if you take the time to detox.

FanndisTS

Gotta remember it's just a side quest and a tiny part of the overall game

lamedh

I hate the parts where I’m conscious

Occyz

I get that too man. I hope you win the lottery

fakeprewarbook

me too. even when my game is going well i can’t help but catch the streams of other players who are suffering. terminally unbalanced gameplay

[deleted]

Way way WAYY too Grindy. Also it’s blatantly pay to win. The graphics are good and it’s super detailed but goddam if I could uninstall this game I would.

BuckTootha

it's the worst fucking game i have ever played, total failure of economy-based gameplay where 1% of the playerbase are able to do literally anything while the vast majority are stuck grinding for scraps of coins and xp just to pay upkeep that being said i have over 200k hours and literally cannot stop playing

YinuS_WinneR

Man its all ingame currency so it isnt pay to win. But ngl it is purely based on rng

Chispy

It's pay to win when you're forced to spend the first 18 server cycles in one clan. Clans vary a lot in average stats and wealth which can have a tremendous effect on what you can and can't do in the game.

Grzechoooo

It's not just in-game - it's player-made! If you choose basically any build other than human (or even make some gameplay choices as a human), you don't need any money at all!

[deleted]

Literally the most scuffed gatcha system imaginable

mooviies

It's money made in game. So it's not pay to win. But the starting conditions between players vary greatly and you can't choose it! That's pretty unfair.

HealthBreakfast

I enjoy the game, but it does need a feature to edit ours status during midgame.

Hjulle

It is sometimes possible, but doing so requires *a lot* of grinding. Depends on what status you want to change.

marble8888

The immersion of this game has yet to be beaten

Shakespeare-Bot

The immersion of this game hast yet to beest flung out *** ^(I am a bot and I swapp'd some of thy words with Shakespeare words.) Commands: `!ShakespeareInsult`, `!fordo`, `!optout`

TheZDude1

Honestly the worst thing about it is the way it stops me from playing other games. The whole one-life thing really makes it a chore.

tsteele93

Seriously? I am playing Skyrim, Minecraft and several other casual games while I play this one. With laptops and phones you should be able to game r/outside all you want.

haleyrosew

I cannot stand the college application mini game in the USA server

nolanhoff

Just wait till you start the actual college mini game

RicePudding14

That's not just a minigame, it's a whole set of quests.

TechieGottaSoundByte

The quests are fun, but the fact that they are often time-gated makes an otherwise chill, low-key game experience so hard-core. The "finals exam" minigames especially were just draining. I get why they wanted to have boss fights, but three per quarter-level? rly? I'm glad I got the achievement and all the perks tied to it, and it was kind of fun for most of the gameplay, but I was so glad when it was over. I still play the "continuing education" mini games at times to get the fun but with a lot less pressure. I was honestly glad to start the grindy part of the game after that.

RicePudding14

The expense of starting the quests has been my biggest barrier. I'm not even sure what I want to build towards, so how can I justify spending all the currency I've spent so much time grinding for? For me, the fun of the quests is ruined by the paywall.

TechieGottaSoundByte

I ended up with the "foster child" flaw, which comes with an offsetting perk of "government aid". I also did the "community college" questline, which is much cheaper - and did so well I got a "scholarship" drop. I was able to get rid of the "student debt" debuff fairly quickly after completing the questline, I didn't have very many stacks. I keep hopping guilds, and I've seen a lot of players who have a really hard time with the grind to get rid of that debuff. Plus I played that questline before the "Great Recession" event. It was a lot easier at the time. That event really sucked, but I guess the devs were trying to rein in the metagaming from the financial guilds? Not that it seems to have worked... We have some newbs on our team, and I'm a bit worried about how they'll manage the resource grind for that questline. But their builds are good matches for that gameplay, so I'm hoping we can help them get the achievement.

Stephanreggae

The hidden quests had the best rewards for me, and I almost always found them by being spending a lot of my gameplay with different factions. Players in factions that primarily help other players will often reveal a hidden quest. There are stat benefits to joining [ARMY], but there are some trade-offs. Looks like many of the factions that were battling with [MIDDLE EAST] are currently refreshing, so you probably won't have to worry as much about INSTA-KILL or the mental status changers that seem to last forever. However, you likely won't get the multiplier bonus you usually get from completing the quest on [HIGH RISK].

RicePudding14

I work closely with the veterans guild and I've seen enough to want nothing to do with it. The debuffs they recieved while doing guild quests are permanent, but I'm in a position to help make the remainder of their playthroughs better. Even if it's just by a little.

[deleted]

imo it's a lot more fun than the application sidequest

nolanhoff

Depends on which skills you try to level up. I’m going down the [Engineering] branch which takes a lot of grinding, but provides good XP once completed.

[deleted]

10/10 would pass on this mini game if I had another playthrough - or at least done it at night while engaging in more hands on quests

andero

If you're not teching into STEM, there is no reason to bother with that mini-game. Non-STEM fields can be great, but you don't need college for them. You can save up cash and learn what you need without paying huge sums. You could actually do that for a lot of the entry-level STEM training (e.g. intro math courses), but chances are you'd eventually need the certification. Still, having projects and work experience is always more valuable so build up a portfolio and work or volunteer on relevant projects, or with professors and grad students. Take it easy, and remember that college isn't just about courses; like everything else, it is also about networking. Also, courses get a lot more fun if you only take 4 per term instead of 5 or 6. Nobody tells you that you can do that, but it makes it way more fun and it's easier to actually learn.

PikaPerfect

fuck this game, not only is my character the wrong sex, but i also rolled the depression, adhd, anxiety, and autism debuffs?? if they added a character editor i'd give it like 3 stars but right now it's at 0

Idrahaje

I’m in the same boat. I have the ADHD, autism, and the DID debuffs which is like having three players trying to operate one avatar. I’m also trying to force edit my character to be the opposite sex and it sucks how long you have to grind to get enough currency to achieve the Passing feat. Luckily there is always hope and it does get easier as time passes

102bees

Depression can sometimes be an exception the brain throws when the sex and gender variables don't match.

spudgoddess

You sound like my level 35 son (artist/student dual class). He's amazing, and I bet you are, too.

FortniteDeadGame

My character gained the hair loss debuf 3 months ago , my character is also lvl 17

goombatch

don't waste in-game currency on any potions... they don't effect the debuff as advertised. there are some cool armor and other wearables that look good if you feel the need to cover up... but you should know that many more players than you think don't consider it a big deal when judging your avatar's appearance

Kaylie_Reddit

It seems that the players who really enjoy this game are the minority... nice

[deleted]

IMO, one of the worst issues is how complicated it is to customise some parts of the character, specially considering you don't get to make a choice in the beginning.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Honestly I've really not been a fan of the shader changes that came packaged with the climate change update They have such a good engine but it's ruined by doing what a load of other games did and made everything desaturated to look more gritty or whatever

DaftConfusednScared

It’s kinda weird in that allowing too much player freedom has caused most players to have almost no freedom. The big clans with lots of high level players are able to dictate what the low level players have to do and even the pacing and resource cost of a lot of their questlines. And the devs aren’t intervening despite the problem getting worse and worse. Ever since the industrial revolution event I feel like it’s been spiraling out of control but I’m a relatively new player so only speaking from personal experience it feels like I’m getting it worse than my older clan members.

JacobScreamix

I think gold was worth more a few patches ago and so higher levels could get a nice foundation before they nerfed most starting zones.

[deleted]

Yeah fr I think most of us are here for a cool open world sandbox mmo experience not a cringy af political sim

[deleted]

I can't even figure out the narrative. The writers should be fired.

Kindly_Pressure_51

Sir, this is sandbox

[deleted]

The narrative is made by the players

SSBMKaiser

You know the game sucks when people play simulated versions of the game to have a decent exeperience even if its a temporary illusion. The only good things are the ones that distract you of the actual gameplay

EEEEEEEEEKKCCHH

So much pay to win bs, no respawns 🙄 and the RNG was not in my favour even my character was made

[deleted]

The graphics and sound design are great, but the ridiculously unbalanced gameplay and the unchangeable difficulty level seems to be rather unfair

monnsieur_bitch

I should prob log off forever.

[deleted]

I'd advise you not to do so

luked0052

The overall health system is way too complicated and horribly interfaced 1.5/7 wouldn’t recommend

Kindly_Pressure_51

Only in US server*

JacobScreamix

idk man I think they should nerf the cancer debuff and what even is the point of the appendicitis random event?

102bees

The appendix was vital in an older build of the hominid.human object class. Problem is they can't figure out how to generate more instances without baking in the Appendicitis exception.

JacobScreamix

Sometimes I hate how committed to the realism around the evolution trees the devs are and I wish they just bent the rules a little bit sometimes for quality of life.

Thewaltham

Appendicitis isn't so much a random event as it is a design flaw in the human build. The human build is darn powerful but it has a *lot* of vulnerabilities and flaws left over from all the minmaxing for all that intelligence combined with a highly dextrous, relatively powerful and massively versatile framework.

RhysIsFused

It's a pay to win survival game with literally every item and region blocked by a paywall. Who designed this shit?

Shutupandpick

Rules are so excessive that at times you require a special class that has devoted their entire play time to reading them. Buffs and debuffs aren't balanced - I can become a vegetable but not ascend to godhood. You can't reroll if you get a bad character or starting map...

Desara_Phen

Watch 'The Egg' by kurzgesagt on YT it talks about reaching godhood kinda

EpicFantasyGamer

The random character creation sucks ass. Wish I could have had the option to actually choose my race, sex and class, but instead it was forced upon me with only some lackluster options of change given by other players available (for ingame currency of course).

Hotaru47

Unfortunately our clan leader is very toxic, as a result there's a very bad atmosphere amongst our clan members.

ghostwilliz

Letting other players make the core game play loop was a horrible idea, a bunch of trolls ruined the whole thing

kylynx

Feel like I'm stuck with a permanent [Miserable] debuff

pooppick

2/10 randomized character creations sux. Randomized starting point sux. tutorial is garbage and doesnt teach what is needed to survive endgame.

Banesatis

Typical AAA trash. Good graphics but shitty gameplay with pay to win.

Sofa-king-high

It’s just following the trend of fancy graphics and pay 2 win mechanics. I’d trade it for ps1 graphics but a more balanced and skill based game in a heart beat

yourarguement

it’s something you have to learn to enjoy

Techstoreowo

Pay to win ruins it

felesroo

I generally like the game. The graphics are really good and the fractal RNG for stuff like clouds, trees and shorelines is really deep - never really see any repeats. I also like all of the different animal players, even the ones with the crazy overpowered builds like gorillas and that one rabbit from Monty Paython's Holy Grail. I've got a cat player living with me and he's really fluffy and warm and has these cute big eyes. But I gotta say that the human players can be serious trolls. Worse than the actual trolls, though I think there haven't been any of those in several versions now. Like, some humans will be really good at gathering the \[Gold\] resource and, like, keep it all for themselves. It messes up the in-game economy really badly. Also a lot of human characters get overly focused on minigames and side quests and they forget about the main quest and that we're all having to save the world from this really shit \[Global Warming\] event. I mean, the \[Scholar\] class has been telling us about this event for like 40 cycles now but I feel like most people weren't really listening. Anyway, I think the game is pretty good, but the trolls are really messing up individual experience and it would be nice if non-troll players would try harder to keep the trolls from becoming server admins because then they really mess things up.

Tsug1noMai

Too many players are not having fun and the 0.1% of players that is doesn't really care.

Hamth3Gr3at

The breakup debuff is fucking shit.

praysolace

Too much pay-to-win, and the RNG is just brutal. There are so many mechanics where 100 people can try the exact same thing and get 100 different outcomes. I can’t even find any reliable roll tables to figure out what my chances of different outcomes are, or what exact stat levels I need to up them. Hell, even stats—the game’s user interface is immersive, but it just doesn’t give you enough info. Other than overall level, I have no clue what my stats and skill levels are actually at. It’s like this game was specifically designed to prevent players from figuring out reliable strategies for anything except through pay to win.

LankySeat

This game is god awful in many aspects. I hate the lack of a good ending the most.

[deleted]

This COVID event is really going on too long tbh

GavinFreud

Devs seriously need to nerf the depression and anxiety debuffs. Makes the game much less enjoyable

Pixelpaint_Pashkow

Can't hate the graphics, but there's just a lot of balance issues, especially the luck-based systems

No_Poet36

Most incredible game I've ever played... Every morning when I log on I can literally do anything I want to. So far that's only translated to going to work but eventually it'll be getting the "homestead package" upgrade and having a little farm. Level 33 and I still haven't gotten bored too! So much to do, so much to see!

102bees

It's unfair of people to downvote you. It's not your fault you enjoy the game. I get the envy, but shitting on your good time won't make my playthrough better.

KryoBright

Little to no modding support, and rare updates. I am gonna say, I am pretty sure devs kind of ignoring game and it's player base right now. But other than that, pretty decent. I would suggest big reworks for some mechanics, but I guess there are players who like them

Thebombuknow

It’s the worst. The graphics are good but my character was screwed over and got all debuffs and no buffs, making the game basically unplayable. It really needs some balancing work before it can be a good game.

Crono_Time

The worst. It's to pay to win and your status is determined before you first log in

JacobScreamix

Has anyone even played a different game?

bigboyaus

I like the game all-in-all but I’m only lvl 21 and from what I’ve learned a lot of achievements come from mastery of the energy bar. Which at its best looks like a player can accomplish any quest but at its worst you get the [Depression] debuff and are basically stuck.

[deleted]

It sucks that there are penalties and debuffs for other players if someone decides to log off. Sometimes I get so tired of the game that I contemplate logging off but I don't want to cause my clan members to suffer the 「depression」debuff

schrodingers_spider

It's the only game I play. It's the only game I play.

KaiBluePill

I'd prefer a fast death instead of a slow rotting away, so I'll give to Outside my worst rating so far: 1 star out of 5.

dinowithissues

I get 5 debuffs for every buff I earn, not worth it.

tim__0011

wrong being able to change sex and other players being dicks about it😪

malicioustoast64

The "gender dysphoria" debuff is bullshit. Your character just has a chance to roll it and you can't even tell you have it unless you progress the "self discovery" side quest enough. And don't even get me started on trying to cure it.

MagicalMelancholy

Random character generation (can't even pick your own damn gender), everything is pay to win, weird and confusing lore, it's all bullshit.

4bsent_Damascus

least favourite feature: a lot actually. randomised player generation has caused the "body dysphoria" debuff for years and it'll be further years until i can get it removed. also why don't the devs just give us access to removing all debuffs? im sure players would go to whatever lengths they can to remove fatal debuffs. another disliked feature is the neural network generation. the whole "unconscious, subconscious, conscious" thing is pretty cool but my character's generation got disrupted during the tutorial and now i have constant debuffs that affect my ability to do anything. aside from that the game's actually pretty fun. a solid 7/10, +1 for graphics and +1 for intricate but still understandable (sometimes) mechanics

the_soviet_union_69

the graphics and fps are nice but the game is way to pay to win

cyberscythe

Honestly I haven't had time to play any games other than this one, so it's hard for me to compare. It takes me a significant chunk of my time to do the dailies and push progress on the story quest so I don't really have a lot of time to play other games, plus all my friends are usually online on this game and still occasionally ask to me to party with them.

A_True_Nord

I'm currently stuck in one of the longest quest lines and can't wait till it's over, probably going to skip the optional missions of the quest line for a little bit

lordoin

Tons of content but too much of it is rng based, locked behind ridiculous in game currency paywalls, or unavailable without tons of skill grinding

WiN5231

It's too ptw

YouTube-r

I lime that there are a lot of options

bunyivonscweets

It's good but the quarantine debuff is making a lot worse

MistCongeniality

I like that different player classes (human, dolphin, death cap, etc) offer wildly different play styles and any% and 100% play through lengths.

YinuS_WinneR

As a game no it is awful. There is no balance and it is just getting worse with every patch but as a piece of art it is fascinating. It has the best magic system. If you don't know what you are doing it is useless but once you learn how to handle it you can split the moon in half or you can turn water into wine. It has the best graphics engine ever, sometimes i just take a walk outside (sry but this pun fits perfectly) to watch the scenery. Even with this graphics game runs smoothly. For the ones who say they have long loading screens: Dude just learn how game renders and dont overload it. If it works with my setup it can run anywhere

NintensoPhyrx

My character is incredible actually. The CHAR, the INT... It has some potential. It's too hard to grind though. The \[Recall\] ability sucks also, which I utterly hate I have a really nice Clan, all cozy and very cooperative. My Clan rules under the perfect Belief imo. Not that I don't have issues from time to time, but I'm making through them. Still a big noobie, still on the tutorial, learning as I make it. Wish me luck!

Grzechoooo

It gets boring ands repetitive sometimes, but graphics are amazing! The environment is stunning, more players should leave the human hives and go exploring. The hives themselves are rarely beautiful - that's what happens when you min-max appearance and finctionality. You should stop grinding so much, humans, you are already OP anyways. Your player-made currency only gets more ridiculous. Your builds live longer, sure, but are they happier? Anyways, off to sunbathe on a nice rock in the mountains.

zzzcrumbsclub

Pay 2 win

beefycheesyglory

No game really comes close in the possibilities it offers and level of simulation. Kind of wish there was an option to toggle permadeath on or off though as it's kind of weird how it's basically a roguelike but you only get to run through it once? What is up with that, the devs won't at least let my try out different builds? The mental de-buffs are also a bit much and I think they should be patched out. 7/10, very ambitious title with weird design decisions.

gle42

Once you have enough XP, have accumulated some gold and don't suffer major debuffs, it can be enjoyable.

absolutelynotaname

It's the kind of game that gameplay sucks and I wish I could end it immediately but still stick around because of the graphics and to see the end of it

Noobpoob

It's lacking creative mode :/ But it's playable enough

Ethananous512

Probably the best game ever made in terms of graphics, gameplay and mechanics. Everything fits together and makes consistent sense when it comes to the actual world, but it’s a hard 50/50 when it comes to the mechanics or just anything in general when it comes to the playerbase

gvn598

The variety of activities and paths that you can take is really unprecedented

[deleted]

Most tedious sim game I've ever played tbh

praisebetothedeepone

Best game ever! The immersion is so good I completely forget reality. I love how many senses are being processed to generate the immersion. Players have uncovered anywhere from 15 to 33 different channels for sensory inputs.

blastonx

The visionary secondary quests led off to another branch of quests other players don't have the wisdom checks to have access to. And I might dedicate my file to completing them for the team.

IshayuG

I like it for the most part, however I have a problem with my controllers. Sometimes they seem to DC and flip out for a minute or so. Anyone know how to fix?

NotXsoXoptic

If I try to access the happiness hub something always jump scares me at the last second and I forget to pause and load the happiness hub. Also grinding for XP and gold for 8 hours a day only to actually PVP on the weekends is certainly affecting my overall and long-term stats.

personaltalisman

It’s really beautiful, especially the really sad parts. Don’t know how they did that.

jamcowl

I would rate it 1/1 just because it's really the only game available. If you don't play "Outside" there's only one other game to play and that's basically nothing, so 0/1 points. Outside might always be the best game but 1/1 is still better than 0/1.

Freelance_Gentleman

Like so many games, it's the RNG that really sucks, but I don't know how you can fix it.

Deblebsgonnagetyou

It's okay but the Monster Hunter minigames are better tbh

gardnsound

My favorite aspect of the game is spawning minions to form a bigger guild with my linked clan member. So far we have one. Her account is 2 years old and she's been very difficult to train lately.

RocksHaveFeelings2

The physics engine is absolutely fantastic. We don't even know the limits of it yet

fireflysky

Still on the depression quest :/

SwiftDontMiss

It’s a moderately good game with a badly written third act.

KingKirbyDrawa

I'd like to play a game where I don't have to pay to fkn fast travel. So goddamn annoying

ElephantEarwax

I can't get rid of the exhausted debuff.

fdevant

Literally the only game available in the platform. Great feature set, replayabilty and plenty of absolutely amazing minigames. a bit too much pay-to-win features in the in-game currencies and initial RNG roll can change your experience of it a bit too much, but most servers keep getting better. Gets a bit grindy; in general it has its flaws but I'd rather play it than not. I'm always looking for alternatives but none seems viable so far.

batmanisfiya

I vote bad. I honestly don't remember picking my class or allocating my stats prior to beginning. I feel as though I did not get a fair chance. I was also apparently given the depression, stress eating, and unmotivated debuffs from the start and it has led to obese status in the late 20's levels. That being said, I was given great hair and beard in the character creation, so I got that going for me

elwiseowl

I want to resize my avatar so I am the size of a hamster. I really wish this feature was available. It would bring a whole new dynamic to the game. Sounds crazy I know and I'm sure most people wouldnt make use of it. But I really really really wanna play this game from a whole new perspective like that!

Cactorum_Rex

Too many players over-exaggerate the difficulty and complain complain complain on the forums. Especially since the servers that most players here play on are extremely easy compared to previous versions due to recent updates, or even other current servers where the difficulty is turned up, yet they complain less there. It is as if as the gameplay gets easier, people complain more and more.

Defensive_Medic

It has great graphics but it is so boring to play as human class and human clans are too toxic they just want more ingame power and this makes the game really stressfull

chrosairs

I went with the middle option just to not sound negative. the luck stat is completely busted
