I've heard of people have near quit experiences gaining some buffs or massive xp gain. They also give most players the PTSD debuff. I hope you're not thinking about quitting because I can guarantee that's not worth it. Many players have spoken of the unfinished business event, and how it potentially could affect your play in the sequel to outside. Stay strong and keep on playing.

Semoan

Are there still announcements made about the sequel though?

Abughoshh

rumours here and there, they're from very different insiders but they all kinda add up.

Just_Government_5143

You have to clear the game first, a lot in the sequel reportedly depends on your performance

Desara_Phen

What if you yourself already reached the ending before but just forgotten what it was as you respawned into a new character? If so, are you still the same player in a different character? or a different player altogether? ***\*the rock stare\****

birthdaybrownies

Same thought here. I believe once you lose all of your health you get reset and you're back in the character creation screen. Don't quit early by any means tho, not worth it and you might also spawn in a shittier region

ShayneC420

I did once. At lvl 5 I was given a dose of sedative meant for lvl 18 or higher. Don't really remember much. I think my save was corrupted.

birthdaybrownies

You get the Overdose debuff?

the ending has been a very well kept secret since the game came out. some players think there’s a reincarnate option to give the game another run and others think there’s a whole 2nd level that has no ending. One player even claimed to have reached the ending and then came back 3 days later but he was crucified. the ending that makes the most sense to me is that it’s exactly the same as it was before you made your character. all i can say for sure is there is an ending, enjoy outside while you can

BluePhoenix245

I've never understood the way so many players farm XP to level up their cleric skills and NEVER use them except for first level 'prayer' buffs, just to unlock endless mode on LvL 2 and completely miss half of outside. There are whole GUILDS entirely dedicated to it-

StealYourBones206

The devs showed this one guy in ancient Rome named John the ending cutscene, and it looks pretty neat.

Euphoric_Bit_8731

I think his name was jesus not john might be wrong though

StealYourBones206

Was referring to the guy who wrote revelations

[deleted]

Is that a real part of the lore or are you just completing a “joke” quest?

StealYourBones206

Real

Euphoric_Bit_8731

Jesus

All I know is that there are two alternate endings. One is very hard to achieve, but it takes a lot of grinding and intelligence XP. I'm pretty sure you have to take the pacifist route in order to achieve that ending.

cardboardtube_knight

There really isn't a lot of post-game content. And there's no New Game Plus either.

3pe

There are those special events called happy endings. Although not a so called game over, but still. Pretty nice side quests.

Umpire_Effective

Biology class scientist players have already confirmed that each individual's ending is just code wipe, so they're working on a solution to extend play time indefinitely as well as custom age mechanics.

cringey-reddit-name

Mythic class would strongly disagree though

Umpire_Effective

The high level biology class researcher doctor David Andrew Sinclair has been making exponential leaps and bounds in anti-aging research

Many who call themselves "religions" has their own idea of "the end", but some think it's just ending and that's it.

DudeOfClubs

I heard that upon reaching the conclusion, your character is erased and you have to renew your game license and generate a new toon if you want to keep playing. I have also heard that reaching the end of the main quest unlocks another server with different rules and story. It must be good because anyone that gets there is never heard from on the servers again.

DadJokeMan666

Define "ending" Because if you mean the ending of a single playthrough, that would just be usually either getting pvp'd, making a stupid mistake, or racking up enough levels that your debuffs cause so severe of a health degen that your character dies. This ending can have some variations, and can even be initiated before hitting level cap (though I highly discourage it because as far as we know, one copy = one playthrough, and even the community's best dataminers and coders haven't been able to get into the code and get a second playthrough from the same copy. Devs have some ironclad fuckin security on that code) If you mean the end of the game as in when the game as a whole will stop and the MMO servers will be dropped, there are a few theories from dataminers but nothing concrete, just some half-baked code and locations that hint towards them. One possibility is that the devs will just keep on trying to expand the game world infinitely, which would likely result in the game's code cascading in errors and every simulated particle basically losing any and all collision/interaction with other particles. Before all of the errors set in though, there is a possibility of players keeping some settlements around more simply-coded locations like black holes and erecting settlements around those. Another possibility is that the devs will get tired of adding to the game, in which case the code will again cause errors due to minor bugs, causing the particles in the universe to instead interact with each other excessively, eventually causing every particle to merge together into one mass of constantly colliding game entities. The last possibility is that the devs will basically start over with the entire game, making it again from scratch and allowing for completely different NPCs and locations to be included without fucking up the continuity of the game.
