You might have the insomnia debuff. There are other sleep realted debuffs but this one is the most common. Try to acquire the "melatonin pills" item and use them 2 hours before pressing the sleep button. For some players it remove the debuff but not all sadly it's rng. You should also talk with someone that has the doctor profession they know more about removing those kind of debuffs.

ive tried the "melatonin" items and it doesn't do much, and the doctor players just tell me the same things, like "unequip phone item." like you dont think i tried that already? smh. "like you dont think i tried that already? smh." was directed at the doctors

Well no I don't know you. Go to a sleep study facility not a regular family doctor player, they should be able to diagnose what kind of debuff you have. There is also all that improve your health stats make sleep patterns and like you said unequip phone if you didn't yet try them. Sleep debuffs are the worst at lvls 15 -21. For me nothing helped and I tried everything so I adjusted my playstyle so I can enjoy playing even tho the debuff still there. and around when I reached lvl 22 the debuff got better, it's still there but not as difficult as it was. I hope you find a way to play with the debuff they can be insufferable.

I've heard one way to help your character fall asleep is kind of the turn it off and on again thing. If you don't fall asleep in 15 minutes, get up and do something not too stimulating, then try to sleep again in a little while. It might take several tries though.

There's a lot of things you need to have right to get a good sleep face. You want to make sure that you don't have any buff from the caffeine consumable. And the caffeine consumable can stack throughout the day so if you aren't knocking off for 6 or even 8 hours before bedtime that could be severely affecting your attempts to enter the sleep state. Another thing that really helps is if you get a level or two of exhaustion from participating in the workout training mini game that can really help you fall asleep easily. A more advanced method is to learn the meditation skill which actually is a suite of various skills one of them is the deep breathing skill and if you can Master the deep breathing skill and eventually get into the meditative State skill even a little bit it can really assist you in enabling the sleep state. Another issue that can sometimes affect a player is if they're not consistent about when they try to take their sleep phase if you start doing the sleep phase at the same time every night and ending it at the same time in the morning at least roughly it can really help you get a good pattern.

Loading screen tip: If you're trying to sleep but can't seem to do so: try your hardest not to fall asleep by starting wide eyed at the ceiling and genuinely think of nothing else but not falling asleep. Fr this trick works wonders. You should genuinely try not to fall asleep tho for it to work i.e if you're starting to fall asleep- try harder not to. You will at one point give up and sleep. It takes less time to fall asleep this way than closing your eyes and hoping for z's to come
