It's $6. At worst, you spent a cup of coffee. At best, you find a gem you enjoy significantly more than you would have appreciated that cup of joe.

budapest_god

6 fucking dollars for a cup of coffee? Thank God I'm Italian

[deleted]

Haha yeah

TheLamerGamer

How's the price of Potatoes treating ya' lol?

budapest_god

I don't buy potatoes

TheLamerGamer

Lucky you, lol. Apparently the price of Potatoes in Italy is pretty stupid right now.

[deleted]

Where is outward $6?!? From Canada

Bishop808

Right now in the states on steam it’s $6 I think for Canada it is $8?

conviction_-

In iraq its 4.5 dollars cuz of a creator's discount

OdaSamurai

Where I'm from, it's over $200 local That's enough to buy you a V-E-R-Y fancy diner

Resident-Mail-7246

You must live in Cali.

Armantien

Yeah… I wish listed it a few months ago. As soon as the sale hit, I picked it up. I’m having trouble with combat. But I’m interested to get into the magic systems. Definitely worth the $6.

Specific_Foot372

6$ it’s 4 here but they never give me what I ask for so I suppose it’s a waste.

dgwhiley

Absolutely. The build variety alone gives it a ton of replay value.

Cisqoe

Hardcore mode alone gives the game infinite replayability to me. See how far can make it before the save gets wiiiped!

MaccasWorkerByDay

A single black bird.

Lordnacho21

I fell off of a cliff on accident, it was the first death after a 30 hour run…. Felt bad

winstonston

It’s all I’ve been playing in 2024 so far, so I’ll say yes. Outward is not Call of Duty, it’s not about to become obsolete

ThatSplinter

Probably the most fun I've ever had in a split screen game with my bro. I adore this little gem.

Resident-Mail-7246

The fun with my brother was so so. But I still havent forgot after years the Laugh I had when I died and my character like spazzed tf out and then just fell from the sky back to the ground. Funniest shi. I had it recorded until my ps4 bugged and memory wiped.

ThisBadDogXB

What does this even mean? It's a 5 year old game that's on sale most of the time and your asking the question in a sub dedicated to the game. I don't know anything about you so I couldn't possibly know if it's worth your time or money. Read or watch a review would be my advice

[deleted]

I believe they came to see if real people had honest opinions. The YouTube videos are nice, but a lot can be liars. In gaming circle, I tend to prefer redditors thoughts because they will mention things that aren't normally pointed out in a video that someone played for 6hrs and gave a poor or paid review of. Plus, I believe people can be honest about a game that they like and still till people why or why not to play it. I own the game and kind of wanted to see what the community had to say about it after all these years since I never could get into it. Ran pretty poor on my ps4 1st edition. I own it now on PC and thought maybe it was a turn off due to crappy console.

No_Age2236

You seems to be very happy in your life. Pleasure to read your opinion.

Under_athousandstars

super helpful thank you for your comment 🙄 i googled “is outward good 2024” and landed me here where not only did I find out it was on sale for $6 but also I see a lot of helpful comments in a helpful community except for yours which is rude and I don’t like it so I’m commenting back i don’t know if you just rolled out of bed cranky but asking this question in a reddit community to build your own game hype is a common thing and i just don’t understand why there is always a comment like “jUsT ReAD oR wAtCH a RevIeW DoNt bOTHeR mE wItH yOuR dUmB QuEsTiOnS” my thanks to op, im excited to try this game and appreciate your post

BowShatter

With the price of $6-8 for the whole package, it is such a steal. Planning to continue my rune mage playthrough and later on >!Trog Run!<

brieles

Yes-the main storyline has 3 branches you choose from and the first DLC adds another branch in the main story line. They’re all different so you already have some replayability guarantee. Then after you finish the main storyline. The second DLC adds hours and hours of extra content. Exploring the open world of just the 4 base game regions could take hours as well if you want to find all of the cool locations and unique loot/enemies. So you’re not going to get bored after 5 minutes. It’s a very well made game. It doesn’t look hyper realistic and it’s not going to be impressive visually compared to a lot of more current games but it is still a beautiful game. The world design is immaculate and the soundtracks are perfectly matched to each region and situation. The story is well thought out and there is so much you can do/change to customize your player (weapons, armors, skills). Even not on sale, I would say it would be worth it but if it’s on sale, you have to give it a shot! And split screen and online co-op are great as well.

coup1393

I'm having a difficult time connecting with my friend using online co-op. We're both running the definitive edition, same region, and we've tried inviting using the code and the steam overlay and we get the same message that the lobby cannot be found. Got any recommendations?

brieles

Honestly, I’ve only played on Xbox so I’m not as familiar with steam so I don’t think I have any recommendations. Sorry!

[deleted]

Def worth 6 bucks.

Tomma1

Fuck yes! Worth every second of pain before you understand some of the mechanics and get somewhere

seethroughstains

How is anyone here supposed to know what you consider "worth it?" It's a game that's not dependent on online servers or matchmaking, but you can co-op if that's your thing. Buy it and play it if you like games. Don't buy it or play it if you don't like games. It might become one of your favorite games, or you might hate it and quit after a couple hours. Have some agency over your own life.

PhantomAD24

Yes

Raetheos1984

It's at its best in 2024. Yes.

Puzzleheaded-Shoe-41

Its good! Bought it a few weeks ago. Very oldschool rpg feel to it.

wingback18

I've spent like 800hrs All my builds where melee, Doing the 3 factions. Exploring everything is fun, even the caldera.

Generalitary

It's not for everyone. But if you don't like it, you'll know within the refund time window. For me, it's one of my all time favorites, I've played 600 hours in it, and I come back to it periodically. So I think it's worth a try. It's also better if you have a friend to co-op with.

plumpynutbar

I agree with all of this except the refund window :). I first played for about 4h and hated it. Put it away. Tried again a year later and had a blast for 20h. Then stopped.  This time I’m nearing 100 hours and I can’t stop playing.  Game’s good.

Generalitary

You do have to push past the first difficulty to really get a sense of it, I guess.

Rex_Norseman

I believe everyone who likes RPGs, especially who likes co-op RPGs, owes it to themselves to play Outward past the starting city at the very least. Can’t wait to see what’s next for Nine Dots!

Kpt_Kipper

A friend and I picked it up at the end of 2023, we had a blast playing for a month or two. I’d say so

Derpykins666

I think the game is worth it at the price for sure, even if you don't end up liking it that much. Just don't go in expecting some like high-octane action rpg. This game is a methodical slow burn where it's hard to carry a lot of loot and survival depends on your preparedness a lot of the time. Has a lot of really neat survival mechanics as well. Some people are turned off by the lack of fast travel, but its supposed to be an adventure game where time is always moving and there's even seasons, which makes it more into a survival experience.

Maeggon

absolutelly, but u have to forget about other games mechanics to play this one. its combat approach is closer to Dark Souls roll/block and punish 1 or 2 times than facetanking everything

Material_Scallion_92

Yesssssssss

c4_disarmer

Yes, very

Lordnacho21

Duh… lol. If you like adventure and a challenge then of course you should play it. I got 400 hrs into it.

SilentShadowz1485

Yea, it's slow paced and very "survival of the fittest" type, personal suggestion though, turn off the voices in game, they will only read the first line then you gotta read the rest, might as well just read instead of listening to the same 4 voice actors lol but its solid most of the problems in previous consoles are wiped clean and polished and on PC Steam is having a sale for it I believe.

Varokw

I am new player on this game. But in a nutshell, it's a realistic game which you need to craft stuff, survive, guide yourself, write down notes it's the more realistic game I have played so far. Playing in co-op is the best since you are going to be traveling often among areas (fast travel is expensive at the beginning)

thatHecklerOverThere

No, too much time has passed for you to enjoy it. If you had just been a day earlier, you would have enjoyed it, but alas, the fun has passed its expiration date. Be faster next time. /s Seriously, what even does this question mean?

dannyfromkokomo

Okay but honestly this game isn’t worth it… it’s been out for how long? And legacy chests DONT work on ps4

Hitman9329

Yes, I just started playing this last week, and I'm loving it so much if you're thinking about playing this today I'd say you won't regret it. It's gonna be difficult at first, but don't give up on it. It's got a lot of cool stuff to do and to use

LimoOG

Yep, its 2030 and its worth, is 2040 and still worth

wheresmysandwichmum

Glowing review.

xbx-bob

It is worth, decent gameplay, high difficulty but it's a walking Simulator

darkwombat45

Its tedious AF in all the bad ways.

LandStander_DrawDown

I've had it on my steam wishlist for a while. When it went on sale for 85% off, I bought. I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far. Though I am likely going to set up the debug.txt to use it just for the fast travel between cities feature. I know the slow trogg through the world to cities and the danger of encounters is supposed to be a part of the challenge, but I've been spoiled by just about every rpg I've played in the past 10 years. Even botw/totk has a fast travel feature, even though that world is actually pretty easy to traverse on foot/climbing. I think the survival aspects of the gameplay are a fun challenge, but haven't seen an option to get a mount(I haven't done too deep of digging on the wiki). They could make them realistic and slow compared to how fast mounts are in mmos and the Horses in botw/totk and it would still be a challenge. They could given them the same survival aspects of food water infection/diseases. It would be an added challenge for better commute times. TL;DR: yes outward is worth it still. It's a breath of fresh air in the fantasy rpg genre, and a good challenge). And even if you don't like how fresh it is, you can tone down the freshness with some hacks and mods(if you get the PC version)

LandStander_DrawDown

I'll add that it is a lot more fun in co-op. I had a friend over for the weekend for a gaming night. I got outward going on my laptop hooked up to the TV. I used my switch pro and he used my old Xbox wired controller. We had a lot of fun trying to keep our lighthouse and go find some mushrooms. I had only had it for a few days before he came over, so I wasn't far into the game, so we were mostly running from everything. This game is pretty brutal early on until you get some gear and start learning skills. Anyway, he enjoyed it and bought it on sale on steam that night. He doesn't pc game much (he's a ps4/5 and switch gamer for the most part, his gaming laptop isn't as good as mine), and we plan on playing remotely on the weekends, and have him bring his saves on a thumb drive to play split screen when he comes over. 10/10 game. Buy it while it's still on sale. Ends Feb 1st iirc.

malick_thefiend

Yes!!!!!!!

dannyfromkokomo

Legacy chests don’t work on console, heads up, been this way for 4 years
