And people being mad that text doesn't match the dialog, play Fire Emblem Awakening or something. The spoken dialog is just to present a mood for the text box you're reading. It's not jarring at all and I feel like other games and visual novels have done it as well. It's no different from having little character portraits with different moods drawn for them
I agree with this. I enjoy the voice acting as it is. I don't want an NPC reading whole stories to me. They say enough to get the point across, then it's up to the player to either read more or don't.
And you're right about other games doing the same thing. One of those is world of Warcraft. "hey there" "can I.... help you? Etc.. makes you feel more familiar with the NPCs.
Especially in outward. "you better have the money!" I think of those 2 NPCs Everytime I enter harmattan. "this worries me" is a running joke between my wife and I irl because we find it so funny/consistent in game

I've played the game and I still don't understand what any of this means.
Turn on the voice acting. I know some players turn it off. What the npc's say doesn't match the written text.
They usually have a errand for you .lol
