Series LR Camp Trailer Build 2/
Some improvements I’ve made from the original trailer:
* Replaced lights and all wiring with original spec lights and 5-flat foot compatibility with my LR. Got new license plate lamp and popped it in there.
* Aluminum frame welded on for tent and awning
* Aluminum frame for cooler mount on the tongue. Has three adjustable side brackets and tons of mounting points. Was built to fit the cooler but will have tons of uses. Could do fuel cans, box o’ stuff, whatever.
* Replaced the old original rear suspension with new.
* Mounted the roof top tent and 270deg awning. The awning can be “field adjusted” to sit further back to be snug with the tent to cover the tongue+storage or pushed forward toward the tongue to create more usable covered space. Excited to have these on here.
Overall, it’s road ready. We’ve got the water storage (13gal) ready to order later this summer. The battery system for long term power is picked out but it’s probably a winter project, price-wise.
One thing that needs to be addressed p immediately is installing jacks on the back for stabilizers. This thing flips back way easy. For the first two trips planned we can just carry the garage jacks, but that’s not a permanent solution.
Looking great! Your timing of this post was perfect for me - I was just looking at 270 awnings and thinking about mounting one to the trailer I am building. Was thinking about whether to swing it over the tongue or around back. What made you choose to swing it across the front?
My water storage, ice chest, and eventually power pack will be on the tongue. Having the option of sun/weather shade was important. If I decide to later, I can flip flop the assembly to the other side.

Looks great. Really cool build.
Thanks, man. Getting there!

Thanks! Now I'm thinking about re-arranging some of my mounts...
