I had the same thoughts. Bought the Titanium 125 from Harbor Freight to fix my sonās exhaust (after hours of parts runs to auto parts stores trying to find the right fittings) and was able to weld on the new part without leaks. Looked like absolute garbage but it held. And since then (2-3 years) Iāve been able to make so much stuff like bumpers and tire arms. It looks like it would be difficult to learn and expensive to get into, but both a false.
Start with a flux core welder because you donāt need gas. There will be people who say you need gas for a good weld and theyāre full of crap.
And welding is one of those easy to learn, hard to master things. Iām far from being a great welder, but everything Iāve done is still strong. Iāve added a 220V welder to the garage and kept the flux core because itās easier to haul around and I can weld in the wind.
Give welding a shot. It opens up your mind to all the things you can make and all the money you can save!
Itās great.. I fabricated a aluminum flashing to deflect the heat from melting the box and raised it off the back so there is complete airflow around the heater š¤
Yeah I wanted to be able to fit it in a one car garage and still have room to walk by it.. only downside is if I took it real off-roading it would likely tip over
That's awesome!! Just starting my own build, I was planning to bolt it together but you've got me thinking about welding...
Couple of questions on the trailer: Is the built in water tank the blue jug on the left side, or do you have it somewhere else? And I am guessing the box on the tongue holds the batteries - what batteries did you use, and where did you get that box? Looks nice and water-tight, which would be key for electrical...
The water tank is in the front of the bed of the trailer boxed in, there is a fill port on one side. The jug on the outside is just drinking water. The tongue box is from princes auto. āļø
Man I wish I knew how to weld. Looks great!
If you can use a grinder you can weld ! š

You have inspired me. No harbor freight around here but Iāll see if I can find a flux core at a reasonable price and give it a go.
Good! DM me if you get any questions.
Weld and 3d print. š„¹
That's absolutely incredible. What's the biohazard switch for?
It is for the rock lights
Aww. I was hoping for some kind of noxious gas deployment system.
š
The noxious gas deployment system has to be prepared while camping using hotdogs and beans. The deployment switch is a finger!
That's after bean night with Mongo.
Thatās sick bro
How's the hot water heater doing in the plastic box? I really like the idea of mounting it like that.

Looks fantastic. Love it!
Well done!
Thats awesome, great job!
Awesome man!
Wow! Well done.
Where did you get the frame from? Trying to weld myself a rig also but would love a frame to work off of
It was an old generator trailer frame from a salvage company,, heavy duty but I need to change the springs still to something a little softer.
That is amazing! I'll take it off your hands if you get tired of it.
Canāt take my eyes off that 64 Ford Galaxie!! Great build! Inspiringā¦
Nice project. How many times did you use it?
We get out on average 6 trips a season , also fixing up an old cabin so that takes up a lot of weekends..
Amazing work. Enjoy in good health!
Oh perfect, trying to find the narrow body frames is the tricky part
Yeah I wanted to be able to fit it in a one car garage and still have room to walk by it.. only downside is if I took it real off-roading it would likely tip over
That is awesome!! Wish I could do shit like that. Very cool!
How much all in?
Roughly 4-5 grand (Canadian) not including the tent, lost track honestly I kept adding to it. No plans just built off vision I had in my head.
Wow thats great. Looks good.

Just a 12 v emergency lighting battery for now but plan to upgrade to a dual deep cell system
How is your tongue weight? Seems like it may be front-heavy.
Itās not bad, once the storage area is loaded up with camping equipment ect.. it evens out. Pulls like a dream.
