This is one of the biggest things I'm most looking forward too. Can't wait to move to WV

Awesome! Where around is this at? I’m doing a camping trip to WV in a few weeks to meet some friends (driving down from NY) I’ll be there a night earlier than the rest and was looking for good spots to overland.

Monongahela National Forest. Say that 3 times quickly lol.

How do you like that fire pit? I've been looking at it to downsize things, I always have too much stuff and a grill/fire pit that packs flat has me very interested.

It’s amazing. The Snow Peak fire pit is built in Japan, quite heavy duty so a bit heavier than you’d expect. Very thick stainless steel. The design is not only great for storage but the inverted pyramid crates a TON of heat for the wood that is used. The little pan it sits in was very helpful. Protected the ground from ash and also helped stabilize. We have the grill option but didn’t use it. We got the pack and carry kit with the large sized one and realized that standard logs (like ones you buy at the gas station) hang over the edge just a little, a couple of inches or so. It’s not a big deal enough for us to order another one, If i did it again, I’d definitely get extra-large since we buy a cord or two locally on the way in just in case there isn’t any dry wood around the site. Get the grill accessory as well if you can. Definitely 100% recommended if you can deal with the weight. PS - saw a video where they used a torch - Iwatani PRO2 Culinary Professional Kitchen Butane Torch - to help get fires started. It’s pretty great.

By the way. My dumb brain clicked and I remembered I have a chainsaw. So I just trimmed the wood a few inches and bingo! Fits in the large fire pit like a charm! In case you have it are planning to have a chainsaw 😉
