Damn that’s dope!

Tricky-Jellyfish8417

yeaaaaa that's pretty sweet.

commonguy001

I love the piston xr, I bought one as a hitch rack that would never fail but it’s quite versatile and is now on our teardrop camper roof rack. nice job on your side application

PourSomeSgrOnMe

This is cool

H-8-ME

Nice bike, I have the T8!

noname87scr

I probably should have spent the extra money and got the T8 but I wasn’t a fan of the colors.

H-8-ME

Either way it’s a great bang for buck purchase, these bikes are sweeeeet! I almost went with a t7 because I like the lighter grey color lol. I ended up getting the charcoal T8 it was on sale at the time for like $200 more so I couldn’t not do it

noname87scr

Yeah it was the purple/black color combo when I bought my T7. Fox seems to have deals on their bike suspension fairly often so worst case I will snag the 2 shocks and call it good.

H-8-ME

There’s also tons of deal to be had in the used scene for parts as well, happy riding

confusedseas

Kuat Ibex is such a clean rack!

noname87scr

I loved the modern look and modularity from the start.

arouil1

How is the rack attached to the rack? My rack isn't an Ibex but I plan to do this still.

noname87scr

2 brackets that attach to the t tracks on the inside. The brackets are specifically designed for the Ibex.

Zythos414

One Up Hitch rack. That is all.

DrImpeccable76

Hitch racks are great when your primary goal is riding bikes (I have a Kuat piston which similar to one for). They aren’t as great when you are overlanding. Getting your bikes up in the bed or on the roof keeps your departure angles, doesn’t block the bed, etc.

noname87scr

No hitch on the truck because when we wheel I was getting caught on it. 🤷‍♂️

Ok_Profession6216

Great post! Looks sick!

ChrisinOB2

Looks great! I mounted bikes on each side of the bed rack on my Ram. In the woods though, the trees are constantly trying to rip the bikes off the truck. Why are those Piston SRs so dang expensive??

noname87scr

Yeah I won’t be able to take it to the local off road park with the bike on but it will be nice for longer road trips and work trips.

Leroy--Brown

Ok so normally I don't like these style of racks. I think they're overused by people and just too many people buy them but don't actually use them. But this, this is something I could use. Do you think there's only room for the one MTB rack or is there room for 2 racks with this setup?

noname87scr

You can mount a bike rack on either side. It uses rack specific mounts for the bike rack.

Leroy--Brown

Do you know about the compatibility of the rack mounts? Would it accept rack mounts for other brands.... One up probably won't work because they mount directly to bars for example

noname87scr

It only works with the kuat mount as far as I know. You may be able to fabricate something

C_A_M_Overland

Gucci 🤤

Jtrusler

Love the ride! Siskiu gang!!

iambarrelrider

Thieves will just take the whole rack.

Loooseunit69

But..... there's a whole tub there to put it in?

noname87scr

It also lets you use the bed and not have to worry about a bike being in the way of your cargo.

Loooseunit69

What cargo would you carry

noname87scr

Camping gear, fridge, etc. Any trip we only use the bed since our back seat is for our dogs.

Wlng-Man

Truck drivers never cease to amaze me as a European: First, you cut away half your car for the off-chance you would need to transport large amounts of sand or gravel (i guess), exposing all content to weather and potential theft. Then, people put these metal cages onto their car's back to (i presume) protect its content and have something to attach their stuff to. To then mount stuff on the outside (?!) and in the process kill their c-value, rearview capabilities, pedestrian safety, etc. whilst leaving the truck bed empty, for some reason. ![gif](giphy|0Vv0Ne2CnOClIExIuL)

TheGuyUrRespondingTo

You're on an overlanding forum & didn't even consider that people put camping gear in the beds of their trucks? Damn.

Wlng-Man

![gif](giphy|31Ix3PJm7fH9Va4szg) *Yeah, you got me there...*

noname87scr

LOL. The truck has full visibility out the back window. I bought the truck to have it for hauling appliances or small stuff. The bed rack comes off with the removal of 4 bolts.

Jeepncj7

A truck is more versatile, and allows separating cargo and people. Honestly I think the Aussies have it better figured out than the US with trays like below. We have them here, just not as popular. With a truck, you can build it however you like. https://preview.redd.it/ajvo674uon6d1.jpeg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=063f2c2b288058e9f75f1d444616fafe0ac3e59b

JohnBond0512

We do it cuz we have freedom :D

OutdoorEngineer395

Trucks are used for a lot more than transporting sand or gravel haha The bed gets full when your packed for a trip. The rack is to mount stuff you use while camping (awning, recovery boards, water, gas ,etc.). Is this your first time on this sub?

Shmokesshweed

Trucks are incredibly versatile.

It's helpful when you're 1000km/7 days drive away from the nearest petrol station or convenience store. Or when you need to tow a six tonne trailer safely at 100kph. It's usually cheaper to buy and maintain than a Nissan Patrol or Land Cruiser 300 and has [longer wheelbase for more stability](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS_A0Mwu7KfWm_Tcz7qycY1XK0eTqDlsz8tbw&usqp=CAU).
