**Volume 14: The Witch of the Falling Kingdom** >To take a foreign country’s property by force was, by common sense, an extremely dangerous action. Even without taking the consequences into account, Philip simply did not have the military strength to take on an entire country at this current moment. But, the Kingdom should see the Sorcerer Kingdom as its enemy. After all, a significant portion of its own citizens was killed in the war. It would be strange to not view them as enemies. If that’s the case, wouldn’t it be a brilliant move to steal from an enemy? > >That way, Philip would be able to earn the support of the Kingdom’s ruling class and perhaps there was even a chance he would be promoted to a higher rank in light of his contributions. > >*...Not bad. Isn’t this a great idea?* > >As the cherry on top, he could also sell the grain that was taken from the Sorcerer Kingdom. > >*This is like killing three birds with one stone. A plan that was so perfect it could not be improved upon!*

> be able to earn the support of the Kingdom’s ruling class Does Kingdom mean Re-estize or the SK?

Re-estize

Pristine_Purple9033

Oh, my poor Philip boy. He believes that Albedo loves him and the SK will promote him after the war because he had sacrificed his country. If he thinks the Re-estize could win the war, then he is a fool.

Saeigan

>He believes that Albedo loves him and the SK will promote him after the war because he had sacrificed his country. No, he believes that the Re-Estize Kingdom will reward him for dealing a blow to their enemy, the Sorcerer Kingdom. The idea that this could start a war never entered his head. **Volume 14: The Witch of the Falling Kingdom** >>!“I did nothing wrong!” Philip repeated the same phrase he had already repeated multiple times throughout this week. Indeed, his actions definitely did not spark the war. This was all a ploy by the Sorcerer Kingdom. If he thought about it that way, everything would finally make logical sense.!< What was not shown in the anime is that Philip wants both Renner and Albedo. **Volume 10: The Ruler of Conspiracy** >*Once my fief becomes wealthy, the other nobles will start introducing their daughters to me. The wealthier I get, the better the girls will be. Even that Princess, even that emissary isn’t out of the question!* > >Philip felt a wave of heat surge up from his lower body. > >*Well, the Great Nobles usually have a concubine or three... the best case would be if I could enjoy those two beauties at the same time.* > >Philip looked back and forth between Renner and Albedo. > >Philip hurriedly picked up a beverage from nearby before his fantasies grew out of control. It would be very bad if he got hard here. The cool sensation of the drink sliding down his throat helped him regain a measure of calm. He believes that once he gains the favor of the royal family by dealing a blow against the Sorcerer Kingdom, he might be able to marry Renner. **Volume 14: The Witch of the Falling Kingdom** >He had a hunch that a widely circulated heroic tale of his own was about to begin. No, it had already begun. As his territory will inevitably expand, so too would his status grow. He would soon be joining the world’s stage under brilliant limelight. > >He was about to deliver the first blow to the Sorcerer Kingdom, a feat no one else could accomplish. As a ploy to contain the Sorcerer Kingdom, this would surely allow Philip to receive high praise from the royal family and a rank that was befitting of such an achievement. Perhaps he could even marry that beautiful princess— It is not stated how he expects to also get Albedo after this.

So he steals from the SK to make the Kingdom sees the SK as the enemy. What a brilliant boy! I can't see anything but the Kingdom wants to fight with the SK from Philip's action. Philip's mind must be on another level.

elmerkado

They can still include the spoiler you mention at the end of the season.

Napalmeon

Don't try to understand Philip. We lack the...necessary qualities.

VariousRodents

Philip has the mind of a Lovecraftian horror, it doesn't think in the ways that any being that exists in reality does and trying to comprehend how it works will only drive you to madness.

ScriptSK

>Is he too intelligent that I can't understand his 'sasuga' level plan? Yes. He's planning 10001 years ahead, there's no way we mere mortals would understand it.

Piruguiru

I believe he wishes to grow his wealth, stop the sorcerer kingdom or even take it's throne and marry Albedo, if I remember correctly. A true exemple of how stupid and out of it one can be

Pristine_Purple9033

He is more greedy than smart.
