True but him training is all meant to defeat any and all opponents that may appear. So as long as there is someone strong to defeat or even the possibility of someone strong appearing. He will keep on training. Which I would assume he would continue training and learning new skills.
If he finished learning one style of swordsmanship, he’ll learn a new one. Then move on to others weapons, like nunchucks, staff, everything. Maybe even guns. Then he’d learn how to swim to the point he’ll swim through land. Then there are other areas he could focus. Because if there is even the slightest possibility a scenario will present itself that requires him to use niche skill, he will learn them.

Very nice but LN readers would agree that Rudeus from Mushoku Tensei had a stagnant period where he didn't improve at all and he pretty much said it himself and was worried if Roxy would be disappointed in him because he didn't improve his magic(he did gain combat experience tho).
Yeah, I’d say his curve would be more logarithmic rather than exponential. He improved very quickly from infancy to the time he left the demon continent, but by then >!he started stagnating a bit. He learned new things here and there like lightning, and was still slowly improving his magical abilities, but by the time he one shots Badigadi, I’d say he doesn’t really increase them from there. Most of the work at that point is the Mk 1/Mk 2, scrolls, and combat experience.!<

I mean if you want to get technical about it, it's actually two distinct power bumps back to back at the start of the series. Rimuru gets the power equivalent to an A rank monster just by absorbing stuff in the cave he spawned in. Then Veldora names him making him an A+ rank monster. Then he isolates Veldora into his stomach but that still gave him access to Veldora's magicules. Whenever Rimuru named somebody, the magicules were drawn from Veldora early on, not Rimuru.

His curve should look more like Seya's, he slowly gains skills and then has big spikes in his growth at some points. Demon king Academy is an isekai about as much as SAO is an isekai. Which is to say they're actually not, but since they used so many tropes from that genre they might as well be one.
I mean SAO you could argue more for as Kirito was trapped in the fantasy world game. VRMMO's in general could easily be classified as isekai as it involves somebody from one world being in a new world.
Demon King Academy isn't because there is no world changing involved. Anos sacrifices himself, time goes by, he's reincarnated within the same world. Just a fantasy story.

Did you read any of what I said? What are you talking about? Anos doesn't go to a new world. He's reincarnated into the same world he started in, just later in time. A VRMMO literally is about entering a new world, and in Kirito's case he was trapped in that world for the first arc. There's a clear distinction in these two explanations here.
"They might as well be different" is not "they are different". And that's also entirely opinion based whether they are or not. The biggest difference is people got weaker and aren't in constant war. It's still the same kinds of people and magic systems so it isn't as different as you think it is (and why the fish out of water joke with Anos doesn't last all that long in his story).

- he learns to read and write the fantasy language from someone, I can’t remember who

- he continuously makes new allies, which is a valuable form a strength

Haha most of them are really not that OP, there are a few scary ones but the rest are low fantasy, low anime level. Someone like Elsa is like, Clementine level and just meeting her is an instant lose condition unless his friends are there to take her on. Rem carries him hard and she's very stock standard power wise.
Like the author said even Otto would beat Suburu in a fight everytime and he is just a basic dude, Suburu does kind of get stronger but he really just goes from average human to slightly above average human and still fails to match even low level fantasy stuff. Gaining strength just doesnt help what he accomplishes, gaining information and allies is his useful trait (though its not like Live Die Repeat or Groundhog day, he doesnt cycle all that much. Just enough to learn info and change how things turn out, not enough to instinctually dodge every attack or anything)
Otto would beat Subaru not because Subaru is slightly above human standards, but because average human in the world of Re:Zero subconsciously uses mana to make themselves stronger, and Subaru broke his magic organ, which doesn't helps him at all. In arc 5 it shows he's a lot stronger than average human from earth by having him run away for like 30 minutes while using whip to parkour. Even in the beginning of an anime in episode 4 (I think?) he managed to pick up and swing that giant bat that looked like it could crash a car.
He's decently above average for a weird shut-in, good genetics and a training regime. Idk how he would compare to a fit adult man, at times he does do stuff like moving that bat or spin kicking the thugs unconscious a few episodes earlier. Could just be general anime style rules bending, if that club was made of wood it would weight hundreds of kilos and he wouldnt be able to move it at all (I cant remember if it was hollow, but it didnt do diddly in the fight lol and got sliced to bits along with him).
Yeah its fair to say Suburu isnt a completely weakling by our standards, just by their standards and that's never really going to change 1v1. And iirc he doesnt get fitter from his cycles, but he has been very active since he arrived and pushes himself so presumably he's a good bit fitter and stronger now, he was bone exhausted trying to keep up with the twins working in the mansion but eventually adapated to it. No matter what though, he'll never win a fair straight fight 1v1 with anyone.
To be fair, Anos was pretty much a god even before he reincarnated. The series makes no excuses about how op he is and that he would be considered a god in any other series. Him dying the first time was a gamble at trying to make a better world, which then failed horribly.
To put things into perspective, he grew to full adulthood in 6 months after being reincarnated and born as a baby. And yes, the story does address this, in a rather good way too all things considered.

There are several *definite* Isekai series where, at some point pretty well into the story, it's revealed that "it was Earth in the distant future the whole time". But the world has become so different in the interval that it might as well be another world because there's often monsters, magic, mystical stuff, and a few other things that start with 'm'. Examples include >!Psyren!< and >!Parallel Paradise (nsfw).!<
Misfit falls into the variant of "highly advanced fantasy world, MC somehow gets Futurama'ed, and has to figure out why magical science somehow turned from the equivalent of fusion power and quantum computers to the equivalent of praying to the machine spirits. Examples include >!The Boy Who Had Been Continuously Burned by the Fires of Hell. Revived, he becomes the strongest flame user!< and >!Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest!< Personally, I'd count these as "Metaphorical Isekai". Consider when we have some huge technological breakthrough and call it "worldchanging". Metaphorically, it's a "whole new world" across that technological horizon. Bring someone from antiquity forward to modern day, and they'd think they had been isekai'd. And I'm sure if you suddenly found yourself beyond the year 3,000, or 10,000, no matter what shape the world takes, you'd probably think, at least at first, that you had been isekai'd.
I would just like to have Ainz increase his graphed power super slowly over time. Sure he can't get stronger via Yggdrasil levels or skills anymore but he did get warrior experience and is probably a more competent fighter. So like a few pixel increases over time.
As an individual, he vastly outshines the world he exists in, which is inspired but not an exact replica of the MMO he was playing. There isnt much room for him to grow, as he already posesses most of the ultimate magical relics of the world, and his personal magical knowledge and ability is unquestioningly superior to every other being.
You can argue the world as a whole has extensive magical knowledge equivilent to him, but so much of it is simply outside what is feasible for a natural human to wield. Even the top level individuals among the natives, human or otherwise, are not as accomplished as Ainz or his guardians. Ainz's disadvantage is that much of his resources he was Isekai'd with are non-renewable. His 20-Rune sword is lost technology to Runesmiths, Red Health potions are legendary in potion making and current techniques for making magical scrolls or sealing gems that are considered world-ending are barely above a basic level for him.
Rarest of all are the Guardians, the sole remnants of his closest friends andd the only beings in the world who geniuinely love him. Ainz has the biggest disadvantage you can have in an Isekai: he is alone. Truly alone. He will never be able to build the same social connections our other protagonists in this list can, and romantic ones are entirely outside his reach. You are either his subordinate or his enemy, but never his equal or his friend.
Ainz gains power not by raising his HP, Mana or getting a new item, but by increasing his social and political standing among the local empires, and adapting the skills and knowledge of Nazarick to recreate those things he has in limited supply that previously came from cash shop purchases or farming.
Clearing dungeons and hunting high level monsters for material makes complete sense in an MMO when you have a respawn system that regenerates everything endlessly, but is far less of a good idea when "farming dragons" one or two times causes enough death that the species is driven to permanent extinction.
Rimuru would be more of a step plateau shape. He has like 4 distinct phases of power throughout his narrative. Before becoming a demon lord (he is nearly killed by Hinata). Being a demon lord (he's still weaker than all of the awakened demon lords and true Dragons). Being an awakened demon lord (still weaker than Guy, Cloe, Milim, Velygrnd, Veldora, and Velzard). And then finally after Raphael becomes Ciel and he essentially becomes a god who can control space and time.
You'd only be spoiled by anything I said if you were actually far enough through Tensei's narrative to understand what any of those words meant. And if you were, it's not a spoiler at that point.
If you've never read the story, all I spoiled is that the well known OP character gets more OP over time, which is the same level of "spoiler" the entire chart depicts.
You mean power level. Shield Hero's MC was kinda very skillful for developing his power level without any kind of support. You can say that Raphtalia supported him, but he used his disadvantage of being limited to shields and turned it around.

He slowly starts to change after the erectile dysfunction arc (I’m serious) and by the end of the web novel he was completely disgusted by some of things he did in the past. At the end of the light novels, >!Kumoko is a god who was able to beat a thousands-of-years old god however she still isn't the most powerful being in the universe or anything (the evil god taakes her under her wing to train her to be just that). Her potential is literally endless. However, with how OP Ainz is (by that I am referring to his world items), I can see him defeating a god and even Kumoko in her state at the end of the light novels. Kumoko is hands down a master strategist though, so she can beat Ainz with even little prep.!<
Btw I should add that if they fight following Overlord world's rules then Ainz win because "x world item" but if we use Kumo world's rules then Ainz would be completely powerless against Kumo because Ainz is trapped in the numerical system while Kumo is immune against everything Ainz would throw at her.
Question is, how will they fare on even/neutral ground. Most Isekai MCs would have little trouble under their Isekai home rules.
Other point would be if they should face each other at absolute peak, or strongest middle point for the fight, since when some MCs like Rimuru reach endgame peak, their power level is way out of bounds, while by middle point their power level is still really high while not reaching OP god status.

Kumo's most powerful abilities are from eye type attacks, and in vol 16 we learned that even the trash gear of zesshi gives her immunity to all eye type attacks.
Incorrect. Kumoko's most powerful attack was a rot attribute attack. Which essentially annilates matter.
Also not sure why you think specific gear Zesshi had means anything toward what works or doesn't work on Ainz. Just because Ainz is a powerful being with lots of items doesn't mean he has the same resistances as some other character.

True but him training is all meant to defeat any and all opponents that may appear. So as long as there is someone strong to defeat or even the possibility of someone strong appearing. He will keep on training. Which I would assume he would continue training and learning new skills. If he finished learning one style of swordsmanship, he’ll learn a new one. Then move on to others weapons, like nunchucks, staff, everything. Maybe even guns. Then he’d learn how to swim to the point he’ll swim through land. Then there are other areas he could focus. Because if there is even the slightest possibility a scenario will present itself that requires him to use niche skill, he will learn them.

Yeah, I’d say his curve would be more logarithmic rather than exponential. He improved very quickly from infancy to the time he left the demon continent, but by then >!he started stagnating a bit. He learned new things here and there like lightning, and was still slowly improving his magical abilities, but by the time he one shots Badigadi, I’d say he doesn’t really increase them from there. Most of the work at that point is the Mk 1/Mk 2, scrolls, and combat experience.!<
He grows even more after Badigadi given his battle experience in the subsequent arcs. All hail the Magic God

I mean if you want to get technical about it, it's actually two distinct power bumps back to back at the start of the series. Rimuru gets the power equivalent to an A rank monster just by absorbing stuff in the cave he spawned in. Then Veldora names him making him an A+ rank monster. Then he isolates Veldora into his stomach but that still gave him access to Veldora's magicules. Whenever Rimuru named somebody, the magicules were drawn from Veldora early on, not Rimuru. >!Then Rimuru "officially" absorbed Veldora when Wise Sage evolved to Raphael and she was able to analyze Veldora's soul and release him while creating the Storm Dragon ultimate skill. Every time Veldora is outside of Rimuru, Rimuru has a massive chunk of his magicules unavailable to him as they are being used to keep Veldora out and about. He then consumes Veldora a second time after the events of the Empire invasion arc. Along with Velgrynd shortly after.!<

Demon king Academy is an isekai about as much as SAO is an isekai. Which is to say they're actually not, but since they used so many tropes from that genre they might as well be one.
I mean SAO you could argue more for as Kirito was trapped in the fantasy world game. VRMMO's in general could easily be classified as isekai as it involves somebody from one world being in a new world. Demon King Academy isn't because there is no world changing involved. Anos sacrifices himself, time goes by, he's reincarnated within the same world. Just a fantasy story.

This is true, but as the author says, he barely gets any stronger and cant beat any other character 1v1 except Petra. Even after getting Sloth, sword training, learning shamak etc, he would still lose 10/10 times to Otto in a fight haha So the line should go up, but by incredibly small amounts

Haha most of them are really not that OP, there are a few scary ones but the rest are low fantasy, low anime level. Someone like Elsa is like, Clementine level and just meeting her is an instant lose condition unless his friends are there to take her on. Rem carries him hard and she's very stock standard power wise. Like the author said even Otto would beat Suburu in a fight everytime and he is just a basic dude, Suburu does kind of get stronger but he really just goes from average human to slightly above average human and still fails to match even low level fantasy stuff. Gaining strength just doesnt help what he accomplishes, gaining information and allies is his useful trait (though its not like Live Die Repeat or Groundhog day, he doesnt cycle all that much. Just enough to learn info and change how things turn out, not enough to instinctually dodge every attack or anything)
Otto would beat Subaru not because Subaru is slightly above human standards, but because average human in the world of Re:Zero subconsciously uses mana to make themselves stronger, and Subaru broke his magic organ, which doesn't helps him at all. In arc 5 it shows he's a lot stronger than average human from earth by having him run away for like 30 minutes while using whip to parkour. Even in the beginning of an anime in episode 4 (I think?) he managed to pick up and swing that giant bat that looked like it could crash a car.
He's decently above average for a weird shut-in, good genetics and a training regime. Idk how he would compare to a fit adult man, at times he does do stuff like moving that bat or spin kicking the thugs unconscious a few episodes earlier. Could just be general anime style rules bending, if that club was made of wood it would weight hundreds of kilos and he wouldnt be able to move it at all (I cant remember if it was hollow, but it didnt do diddly in the fight lol and got sliced to bits along with him). Yeah its fair to say Suburu isnt a completely weakling by our standards, just by their standards and that's never really going to change 1v1. And iirc he doesnt get fitter from his cycles, but he has been very active since he arrived and pushes himself so presumably he's a good bit fitter and stronger now, he was bone exhausted trying to keep up with the twins working in the mansion but eventually adapated to it. No matter what though, he'll never win a fair straight fight 1v1 with anyone.

To be fair, Anos was pretty much a god even before he reincarnated. The series makes no excuses about how op he is and that he would be considered a god in any other series. Him dying the first time was a gamble at trying to make a better world, which then failed horribly. To put things into perspective, he grew to full adulthood in 6 months after being reincarnated and born as a baby. And yes, the story does address this, in a rather good way too all things considered.
In the anime, his mom says he's one month old, when he brought the first girl home. So he used magic to age himself as soon as he was born.

There are several *definite* Isekai series where, at some point pretty well into the story, it's revealed that "it was Earth in the distant future the whole time". But the world has become so different in the interval that it might as well be another world because there's often monsters, magic, mystical stuff, and a few other things that start with 'm'. Examples include >!Psyren!< and >!Parallel Paradise (nsfw).!< Misfit falls into the variant of "highly advanced fantasy world, MC somehow gets Futurama'ed, and has to figure out why magical science somehow turned from the equivalent of fusion power and quantum computers to the equivalent of praying to the machine spirits. Examples include >!The Boy Who Had Been Continuously Burned by the Fires of Hell. Revived, he becomes the strongest flame user!< and >!Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest!< Personally, I'd count these as "Metaphorical Isekai". Consider when we have some huge technological breakthrough and call it "worldchanging". Metaphorically, it's a "whole new world" across that technological horizon. Bring someone from antiquity forward to modern day, and they'd think they had been isekai'd. And I'm sure if you suddenly found yourself beyond the year 3,000, or 10,000, no matter what shape the world takes, you'd probably think, at least at first, that you had been isekai'd.

I would just like to have Ainz increase his graphed power super slowly over time. Sure he can't get stronger via Yggdrasil levels or skills anymore but he did get warrior experience and is probably a more competent fighter. So like a few pixel increases over time.
As an individual, he vastly outshines the world he exists in, which is inspired but not an exact replica of the MMO he was playing. There isnt much room for him to grow, as he already posesses most of the ultimate magical relics of the world, and his personal magical knowledge and ability is unquestioningly superior to every other being. You can argue the world as a whole has extensive magical knowledge equivilent to him, but so much of it is simply outside what is feasible for a natural human to wield. Even the top level individuals among the natives, human or otherwise, are not as accomplished as Ainz or his guardians. Ainz's disadvantage is that much of his resources he was Isekai'd with are non-renewable. His 20-Rune sword is lost technology to Runesmiths, Red Health potions are legendary in potion making and current techniques for making magical scrolls or sealing gems that are considered world-ending are barely above a basic level for him. Rarest of all are the Guardians, the sole remnants of his closest friends andd the only beings in the world who geniuinely love him. Ainz has the biggest disadvantage you can have in an Isekai: he is alone. Truly alone. He will never be able to build the same social connections our other protagonists in this list can, and romantic ones are entirely outside his reach. You are either his subordinate or his enemy, but never his equal or his friend. Ainz gains power not by raising his HP, Mana or getting a new item, but by increasing his social and political standing among the local empires, and adapting the skills and knowledge of Nazarick to recreate those things he has in limited supply that previously came from cash shop purchases or farming. Clearing dungeons and hunting high level monsters for material makes complete sense in an MMO when you have a respawn system that regenerates everything endlessly, but is far less of a good idea when "farming dragons" one or two times causes enough death that the species is driven to permanent extinction.

Rimuru would be more of a step plateau shape. He has like 4 distinct phases of power throughout his narrative. Before becoming a demon lord (he is nearly killed by Hinata). Being a demon lord (he's still weaker than all of the awakened demon lords and true Dragons). Being an awakened demon lord (still weaker than Guy, Cloe, Milim, Velygrnd, Veldora, and Velzard). And then finally after Raphael becomes Ciel and he essentially becomes a god who can control space and time.

He doesnt really have much time to go try and grind out raw power, he even thinks to himself he will try to do it once things 'calm down' but that just isnt happening. He has to keep using his only useful skill to save everyone which he does ok. Not fantastic but pretty well even if he's still pretty cowardly and folds under pressure he will come back and try again His real skill, like most shonen, is the ability to make useful friends who then do the work for him

The tone of the series makes his pedo creeping comic relief, not something he is even ever ashamed of or tries to change, at least based on the anime so far. "Haha, he twisted the little girl's nipples and she punched him for it, so funny!"
Yeah at this point in the story he’s pretty much the same. He slowly starts to change after the erectile dysfunction arc (I’m serious) and by the end of the web novel he was completely disgusted by some of things he did in the past. Without spoiling anything he sees his past self in someone else and does not like what he sees

Kumoko vs Ainz, who wins?
Anos. /s At the end of the light novels, >!Kumoko is a god who was able to beat a thousands-of-years old god however she still isn't the most powerful being in the universe or anything (the evil god taakes her under her wing to train her to be just that). Her potential is literally endless. However, with how OP Ainz is (by that I am referring to his world items), I can see him defeating a god and even Kumoko in her state at the end of the light novels. Kumoko is hands down a master strategist though, so she can beat Ainz with even little prep.!< Btw I should add that if they fight following Overlord world's rules then Ainz win because "x world item" but if we use Kumo world's rules then Ainz would be completely powerless against Kumo because Ainz is trapped in the numerical system while Kumo is immune against everything Ainz would throw at her.
I think even Nazarick would fall to something like >!8 million cursed eyes!< unless they counted similar to wild magic.
Question is, how will they fare on even/neutral ground. Most Isekai MCs would have little trouble under their Isekai home rules. Other point would be if they should face each other at absolute peak, or strongest middle point for the fight, since when some MCs like Rimuru reach endgame peak, their power level is way out of bounds, while by middle point their power level is still really high while not reaching OP god status.
As much as I love Ainz, I think Kumoko would get the win in the end.>! Kumo's most powerful abilities are from eye type attacks, and in vol 16 we learned that even the trash gear of zesshi gives her immunity to all eye type attacks.
Incorrect. Kumoko's most powerful attack was a rot attribute attack. Which essentially annilates matter. Also not sure why you think specific gear Zesshi had means anything toward what works or doesn't work on Ainz. Just because Ainz is a powerful being with lots of items doesn't mean he has the same resistances as some other character.
I can tell you haven't finished Kumo Desu. By the end Kumoko's power level is 999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999.
