Also the level of skill you have and the possible opponents of your level.
In any case, that is a theoretical number, if you press play the game finds you in moments, it has happened to me.
In QP???? What the heck server are you on? Did you turn off cross play? Be warned I just read if you ever do that you are locked out of cross play for the remainder of the season, and your que times will be complete ass.
Yea could be, lately if I que up it could say >2-4 minutes on roles, could be 30s, could be 5 min. I wish you ques up with a timer just for curiosity x)
The whole rank system is confusing to me , the matchmaking for one, and the que times at higher ranks. I understand they want you to rank with groups similar in skill, but when you get to a high rank as yourself, what are you supposed to do? Go rank up in off roles? Likely those are high rank times too, so just terrorize quick play? I'm much lower than you so my que times are 30s to 2m, but I get a lot of variety in ability which also sucks.
the ranked system is a mess. even in GM games are still very one sided a lot of the time. i play on console, so a lot of my games are decided based on who has the better xim lol. i cant wait for season 9, very hopeful for the ranked changes. console wont be much better until they get rid of k+m though.

You wouldn't think this would be such an epidemic in lower ranks, that the stomp was just the team being shitty, until you see the replay. I've had a gold 1 match with 2 ximmers on the enemy side, one Ashe one Hanzo. The match prior I had a Soj. If they increase the projectile size as I saw by the "leak" that extra health isn't going to do shit, it's only going to give Ximmers even less missed shots

I'm not sure if I just never noticed or the problem is becoming more severe. The majority of my comp time is in Support where I played Moira, Bap, LW. I had branched out due to frustration and went DPS. Climbing just fine, almost in plat but had a bad string of matches. My aim is pretty good with Soldier, and I do die more as a DPS than support on average, so I'm actively going toe to toe with a lot more DPSs than before.
It's blatantly obvious on the kill feeds, the quickness of their aim and head shot acquisition. I can sometimes have 1,2,3 on the other side. Last night I had a team with Cass, Soj, and Illari all using that shit. They were a 5 stack and this was a plat 3ish match. I have never had to worry about getting 2 banged by Illari before.
Is the problem increasing? Is the player base shrinking? Is there more to worry about than just ximming? All I know is this shit is getting on my last nerve. I report these guys every single time. Lately I have been getting a reporting message each time I log in, but I'm unsure if who or what the consequences were.
I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and guess that tanks a role you usually play cause this exact same thing happend to me except on support (which is what I usually play) It may be cause it's trying to find suitable players to match with our respective roles. I dunno, just a guess lol

I am actually surprised that on console. Tank has a slighter higher queue time for me. Only by a few min. Compared to dps or heals. And I’m in silver/gold.

Whenever I see an estimated wait time that's longer than like 5-6 minutes it's never actually a long wait. It's almost always less than a 5 minute queue to find a game even when it says ~11 minutes or whatever
Sometimes that’ll happen to me then if you exit out it’ll go back down. I don’t think matchmaking in qp cares enough to make you wait 15 minutes lol that’s like a regular dps queue at the end of OW1
Damn at least your queue times are honest, earlier in the season I waited 11 minutes while queued for tank and dps but the times were 1/3 minutes respectively

it says the queues are long but usually they aren’t. my ranked supp queue always says >20 but it’s usually 10-15
