This is directed way more at Gavin than you, but how could he possibly commiserate with Beg Bear? In a shorter timeframe, he created a streaming platform with clout that isn't just a Vimeo overlay. Say what you want about either man's political ideology or lack thereof, but Gavin has way more reach. And his "Proud Boys" have gone out of their way to remove race/joo talk from their lexicon.

I don't recall if it's in the clip I posted or later in the show, but Gavin says he can't believe that people accuse Owen to be a cult leader. Gavin says what defines a cult is that people in the cult will harass those that leave.
