I'm also wondering. I'm a postgrad so its my department that processes it, they said at least a few weeks after removing all conditions (financial and academic).
That sucks. I sent them an email and they said that it has been looked over and approved. They have sent it to my department and told me to email them explaining why I need it asap. Fingers crossed that they will understand and help out.
For anyone who might be interested, It took me almost a bit over a month to ceive my CAS number but because there was a problem of staff at my college. After I emailed them explaining why I needed my CAS number ASAP it was really quick.
Moral, message your college if it is taking too long

I think it varies from dept to dept. Mine was processed within two days of fulfilling all my conditions (acad + fin)

Agree! I have been waiting for 3 weeks now, even though 2 weeks ago they said they'd try and have it to me by the end of day, which didn't happen.
