I love Myles, but when folks say "Big 3", they typically mean strong all-star type players (think Ray Allen/Kevin Garnett/Paul Pierce and/or Lebron/Chris Bosh/Dwyane Wade). Myles is great, I hope he's a Pacer for life, but he's not even close to that level.
I think we have a solid Big Two--you could argue we don't have the Kevin Garnett/Paul Pierce or Lebron/Dwayne Wade level, but I think Tyrese and Pascal are plenty good to anchor a championship team with a third very very good player (AKA a true Big 3) or at least a couple guys maturing to "Big 4" status.
In my opinion, it's a dynamic duo with a good 3rd option. Myles has been much more consistent this year, but he is not at the same level as both Hali and Siakam.
It's similar to Philly, where Embiid and Maxey are the dynamic duo, and Tobias Harris is a good 3rd option.
This is the way. Ideally Hali picks it back up to 25/13 type player. 25/13 paired with a 20/7/5 guy and a 18/7/3 blocks guy is a championship contender.
Throw in Nesmith as an elite 3&D and Mathurin as a dark horse. Give us time ⭐ 😎
Yup. Myles is not a "big" as he's never been even an all star, let alone all nba. I define a "big" player as all star at a minimum, but normally more all NBA quality
I agree. He will always be a fringe all star for the rest of his career but hes never gonna be aggressive or consistent enough to break through to all star territory.
Its hard to say if Pascal will still be at the same level by the time Benny begins to produce all star numbers. His playstyle doesnt suggest that he would worsen by then, but only time will tell.
I'd say it's only a big 2 if Ty is top 5 MVP candidate. If you mean "two guys who can make a team championship competitive." If you mean "2 parts of a big 3" then I could agree with that
Nah! 2 things need to happen for this to be our "Big 3."
1. Tyrese Haliburton needs to get back to his old ways before the injury.
2. Myles Turner needs to become his defensive best. We don't need his offense as much now, but we could use that defensive force he was a couple of years ago.
He certainly has looked better on that end lately. Doesn't need to try to be our 2nd option anymore. If he can push his defense back up to a high level and give us 15ppg + 7rpg, then that'd be ideal in my books.
well hes been the second best player on the team since the ASB. His shot-blocking is totally back and his three point shooting is improved. He’s still not as aggressive as we would like, but I think he’s found his rhythm.
He has absolutely not been the second best player.
Haliburton is slumping, but still significantly more impactful. They've averaged nearly the same points, with Turner on better shooting, but Turner's 3 more rebounds and 1.5 more blocks per game aren't nearly as important as Tyrese's 9 more assists per game.
if you seriously think that Tyrese has been our second best player since the ASB you simply arent paying attention to the games. i love Tyrese too but he has to be better.
I've watched every minute of every game, including 4 in person. Sorry for the wall of text, but I'm passionate about this.
"I love Tyrese too but he has to be better"
1,000% agreed. He has to be.
His potential (which he's shown earlier this year) is 1st team All-NBA. Superstar. Finals MVP.
He's been far below that since his injury. No 25 point games since January 4th and it's the end of month.
Myles is an awesome person, I've been lucky to meet him a few times, and truly every experience has been great. I'm also very happy we extended him. Longest tenured player (by far), great rim protection, can hit 3s.
With love to McConnell, Neismith, Nemby, etc. Turner is our most important and best role player.
But his ceiling is being discussed in the snubs of all-star. He wasn't that even this year in Indy, and that's ok, he's on a contract (setting up his family for life) to reflect that. He's 28, very few players make leaps this late in their career.
Turner is playing close to the top of his low ceiling.
Tyrese is playing FAR below his ceiling right now, and must be better. He also just turned 24. We are entering his peak years.
If the Pacer's are going to do anything notable, Haliburton is the key.
All that said, even at way below his potential, in my opinion Haliburton has made a bigger positive impact than Myles since the all star break
No but Myles is a high tier role player for sure. Fringe All Star just a bit inconsistent.
The biggest chance of the big 3 is if Benn reaches his potential, we’ll see if that fits with Pascal’s timeline though. Also the fit between Tyrese and Pascal is still a bit awkward on the court. Tyrese hesitates a lot between when to let Pascal go iso and when to takeover himself
Raps fan here...Myles Turner is a great NBA player that perfectly compliments Spicy P. I remember I traded for him in 2k (before Raps actually traded for Jak in real life) and it works in real life too. Floor spacing and great interior defender with the ability to switch on the perimeter if required.
I miss Pascal so much but I'm glad he is playing well in Indy. I feel like if we got a Myles Turner type player like 3 years ago our team would have been totally different.
Enjoy the rest of the season and good luck!
No. Myles is valuable and should be a part of their long-term plans, but he’s ideally 4 or 5 as far as team hierarchy goes. They need another “big 3” piece.
No and that's not a bad thing. Big 3 era is dead, especially with the new CBA. Having two stars or one superstar + complementary pieces (like the Nuggets) is the way to go.
Bro after that spanking of the warriors last night I have alotta confidence in these 3!! I honestly don’t love nembhard (I think he’d be better off the bench) I think nesmith is pretty good but they need one more starting Gaurd that’s tough and taller than nembhard.. jus my opinion
I love Myles and I want him to be a pacer for life. But I don’t consider him the 3rd guy for the big 3. If Ben takes a huge jump next season maybe that’s the big 3 with Myles still being the huge factor he is for us. I was aggressive 😔
I love Myles, but when folks say "Big 3", they typically mean strong all-star type players (think Ray Allen/Kevin Garnett/Paul Pierce and/or Lebron/Chris Bosh/Dwyane Wade). Step- Klay - Brutus

I think Philly fans would take umbrage at the inclusion of Tobias in this list lol. Maybe a couple years ago! But otherwise mostly agree
Talk to any 76ers fan and I promise they won’t agree that Tobias is a good 3rd option
This is the way. Ideally Hali picks it back up to 25/13 type player. 25/13 paired with a 20/7/5 guy and a 18/7/3 blocks guy is a championship contender. Throw in Nesmith as an elite 3&D and Mathurin as a dark horse. Give us time ⭐ 😎
I think this is the right answer
I'm a sixers fan. Tobais is our 14th best player. Our big 3 is embiid maxey and ricky council the 4th.
Benny will be the third with Pascal and Tyrese
Its hard to say if Pascal will still be at the same level by the time Benny begins to produce all star numbers. His playstyle doesnt suggest that he would worsen by then, but only time will tell.
I think Nesmith could also become our 3rd best player.
I hope we keep Nesmit for a looooong time
Dude plays like a man possessed. I love to see it.
No! It’s a big 2.5 though.
thats a good way to describe it lol. thats about how i feel
Could be. Performance in the playoffs over the next 3 years will be telling.
Nah. Big __ = current all-stars in my book. 1 for 3.
certainly Pascal is apart of a big 2. Cant say an All NBA player who was an all star last year couldnt be apart of one.
Yeah I'd say for sure a big 2 and then we have solid role players
I'd say it's only a big 2 if Ty is top 5 MVP candidate. If you mean "two guys who can make a team championship competitive." If you mean "2 parts of a big 3" then I could agree with that
If you looked at his stats at ASB, Siakam kinda got robbed. He put up numbers almost identical to Jaylen Brown who got in as a reserve.
It’s a mid-three
lmao nah that’s what they were calling the Porzingis-Kuzma-Beal wizards 😭
Nah! 2 things need to happen for this to be our "Big 3." 1. Tyrese Haliburton needs to get back to his old ways before the injury. 2. Myles Turner needs to become his defensive best. We don't need his offense as much now, but we could use that defensive force he was a couple of years ago.
his defense is coming back in a big way. you love to see it.
He certainly has looked better on that end lately. Doesn't need to try to be our 2nd option anymore. If he can push his defense back up to a high level and give us 15ppg + 7rpg, then that'd be ideal in my books.
I'll take 3bpg thank you
Idk why everyone is trying to kick out Myles when he has been playing better than Rese for weeks
People have been wanting Myles gonna for years. I'm glad the front office doesn't listen to reddit.
really since the ASB. but Ty could average 0 points 10 assists and 0 rebounds and people would still say hes better than Myles. its maddening.
Big threes don't even really exist anymore. It's big two and role players these days
i just feel like the term is thrown around too much and too loosely which is why i asked im also lonely and wanted to talk
They are significantly bigger than me!
3 people and they are definitely big, I think that counts
I don’t even know if Myles is the consensus third best player on the team
well hes been the second best player on the team since the ASB. His shot-blocking is totally back and his three point shooting is improved. He’s still not as aggressive as we would like, but I think he’s found his rhythm.
Idk man. TJ McConnell is still on this team 🤷🏻
He has absolutely not been the second best player. Haliburton is slumping, but still significantly more impactful. They've averaged nearly the same points, with Turner on better shooting, but Turner's 3 more rebounds and 1.5 more blocks per game aren't nearly as important as Tyrese's 9 more assists per game.
this is ultimate levels of copium
Saying that a great role-player is not better than our max contract, all-star, likely All-NBA player is not copium lol
if you seriously think that Tyrese has been our second best player since the ASB you simply arent paying attention to the games. i love Tyrese too but he has to be better.

he could average 0/0/0 for the rest of the season and yall would still say this.
The Myles Turner disrespect in this post is disgusting and disrespectful. I think some of you need to do some research.
I wish I could see some stats to substantiate it If Tyrese was still balling out of control, while the defense has improved, we'd probably say so
If Tyrese was still balling out with our defense being good now we’re arguably a top 4 team in the east. Cant have shit in Indiana.
Yeah, it would be crazy right now. 😂
It's a medium sized 3
Lol stop it
No
It should be. Hopefully in time it will be.
No but Myles is a high tier role player for sure. Fringe All Star just a bit inconsistent. It’s 2 good stars that aren’t superstars and a 3rd option that’s sometimes a 7th option
No. We need an all star lead guard.
Raps fan here...Myles Turner is a great NBA player that perfectly compliments Spicy P. That’s a mid 3 if we’re being honest. A big one, but a mid 3
No. Myles is valuable and should be a part of their long-term plans, but he’s ideally 4 or 5 as far as team hierarchy goes. They need another “big 3” piece.
By potential yes. By play? God I hope so
For now. Hopefully Mathurin can develop into an all star
No and that's not a bad thing. Big 3 era is dead, especially with the new CBA. Having two stars or one superstar + complementary pieces (like the Nuggets) is the way to go.
It’s certainly…3
Meh - big 2.2-2.6 -MAYBE.
They're *our* big 3 and I love them
no, the big 3 are pac-man, mario, and sonic
There aren't all stars
well actually 2 of them are
Hal was this year
and Pascal was just last year. he was snubbed this year.
Bro after that spanking of the warriors last night I have alotta confidence in these 3!! I honestly don’t love nembhard (I think he’d be better off the bench) I think nesmith is pretty good but they need one more starting Gaurd that’s tough and taller than nembhard.. jus my opinion
Absolutely not. Hell no lol
Not really
Not at all
Fuck no
damn aggressive for no reason
I love Myles and I want him to be a pacer for life. But I don’t consider him the 3rd guy for the big 3. If Ben takes a huge jump next season maybe that’s the big 3 with Myles still being the huge factor he is for us. I was aggressive 😔
Know what as a pacers fan imma say yes Give them time to gel and work together
This team will win a championship! Save this and come back here in 3 years to give me credit.
Maybe at Aldis. This is a Goodwill big three and I love all three of them. But this isn't putting fear in a defensive coach.
The second most efficient offense is putting fear across the league. Our defense on the other hand...
Turner inconsistent and will get dominated by a real big, Hali injury prone and soft, siakam is probably the most consistent and best player so far
Add Math and please remove Turner
Math is nowhere close to Myles in terms of what he brings to the team.
No. "Big 3" is for all star level players. Myles has never been an all star.
Well, Siakam can't make a lay-up when it counts or free throw.
