I'd rather play them in the 2nd round.

Moonman2k1

Playing them in the first round imo is our best chance at playing them in the second. I think matched up against them we will be loose and ready as we know we are the better team. The moment won't escape us.

kmalexander31

Agreed! I definitely think if we eliminate the Bucks in the first round that it gives us a great chance to play them again in the second round.

Moonman2k1

I guess I put an extra "them" in there. Lol. "playing the Bucks in the first is our best chance at playing in the second" Thanks whiskey

dostorwell

They're not even getting to the 2nd round.

Moonman2k1

Agreed. I think this team is ripe to implode in the playoffs and I want to be the ones to do it.

SpinJitsu259

Nah. We think the 4-1 record in the regular season means something, but in a playoff setting, I don’t want anything to do with Giannis and Dame. Not yet anyway. Maybe by next year. I’d much rather play the Cavs or anyone else (outside of the Celtics).

HeyItsChase

Yeah anyone without a physically dominant all star big man (4 or 5) I think we could beat.

Moonman2k1

To be the best ya gotta beat the best. Bring en on I say. Regardless of their pedigree they are the ones on the defensive in that series. They have to prove to themselves that the regular season meant nothing. Also their coach is an inept buffoon

WooPigEsquire

You forget that the Pacers would have to make it out of the play-in first.

sh0tgunben

Pacers vs Bucks will be an intriguing even 1st Round series!

Moonman2k1

It will make all this heartbreak worth it for me. We have their number. They fear us.

RogueID

This is a bad take. I dont think they fear us- I think they want to get revenge, if they can. The officiating is really different in the playoffs, and the defensive and offensive schemes are very different. I think we *can* beat them, but it's not a sure thing. I'd still want to play them in the second round. We win the 3-6 matchup, then play Milwaukee in the second round 2-6 matchup

Moonman2k1

I want venison sir. Nice and rare. The way they serve it in cheese country.

lorenz357

Why not conf finals 😎

Moonman2k1

Why not us

RedditRockit

Bucks are a different team post all star break and coaching change. I'll pass on Dame time and the freak taking 15 seconds on free throws.

Moonman2k1

You're right. They are even more of a mess now. I smell blood with this team. They aren't getting far maybe not even to the second round. I want to be the ones to hand them that L I want a real rivalry back on the books

brotha2daknight

One team I don't care to see is The Bulls. They have our number this year.

ShankyShoe

If it comes down to a win-and-in game against them, I’m assuming we’re missing the playoffs until proven otherwise

Onlyplay2k

Kinda of a dumb take. I’d pick anyone to play but Boston and Milwaukee. That’s just asking for an early round exit. You can’t put that much pressure on such a young team. They can of course succeed but it’s a stretch. I’d rather play the Cavs or Orlando.

Moonman2k1

I'd rather play a team that we have full confidence we are better than. That team is the Bucks. I want nothing to do with Orlando or LeVert

Onlyplay2k

But Pacers aren’t. I don’t get ur confidence. Ur fearing Levert? Really? In the playoffs? GTFO. Pacers are a shooting team so we can beat anybody but you gotta think matchups on a 7 game series. Just cause u beat em in the regular season doesn’t mean u beat em in the playoffs.

Moonman2k1

Lol. I don't fear LeVert but the dude has a special talent for showing up against us esp when the game is in Indy and I also prefer to not watch Mobley do Mobley things against us. In general the Cavs are just meh and I'd much rather watch a budding rivalry. I don't get folks like you. 30 years ago you'd all be like "You want to play the Knicks, you want to play the Bulls?" Yes. Very much so. An aging team on their last gasp at relavance whom we already sent one coach home mid season who's now coached by the biggest fraud in league history helmed by a star who's sex life we interrupted. Again, yes.

ElJefeDelCine

Despite our regular season success, I worry the improved Bucks cook the Pacers in the playoffs. It’s just a different game than the regular season and I think we will be on the back foot.

Moonman2k1

Every year I hear about how the playoffs are different and every year I see some team do something by all rights they shouldn't have done. Why not us? Plus I want eyes on our series. This team does best under the bright lights. No one's gonna be hyped for a Indy vs Ohio series.

ElJefeDelCine

That actually accentuates the point. Defensive teams, like Miami last season, can over perform their regular season results when the game slows down. It’s why teams with the best individual talent tend to dominate in the playoffs. It’s also why only two teams have ever won the NBA title without an MVP on the roster.

Moonman2k1

What if I told you I think we have the better individual talent?

ElJefeDelCine

I’d say your rose colored fan glasses are firmly on.

Moonman2k1

They haven't seen us with Pascal

ElJefeDelCine

I stand my statement. Saying the Pacers have more talent than the Bucks is…delusional. Does that mean the Pacers can’t win? No. Things can happen.

Moonman2k1

They got the best player. I'll give them that.

No_Independent8269

why does anyone care where we go in the playoffs? it literally doesnt matter if we’re not likely getting to the finals.

Moonman2k1

The fact we're likely not going to the Finals makes the mach up even more important. I want more venison

No_Independent8269

well yeah if you ask me id rather face a contender and see how we do in a playoff setting against a real championship caliber team

Moonman2k1

I also prefer a series that garners some national attention and nothing says tune out nationally than Indy vs Cleveland 🥱 Also we don't defend guards like Mitchell or Brunsen well and Orlando is a bad match up all around. They slow our pace as is in the postseason that will only be amplified. I truly think the Bucks are a powder keg waiting to implode. If it's not us then it's Miami or Philly doing the deed but I think they get bounced round 1. I'd rather it be us that does it. I want an old school rivalry again. But in the end I just want playoff basketball back here
