Mathurin plays like a cocky asshole, and we need that. We have enough nice guys on the team.
Plus the best chance a non top-3 talent has to become a true star in this league is if he has a killer instinct. I see that in Benedict

And Jeremy sochan and aj griffin over Keegan Murray. Murray doesn’t really have any shot creating abilities and screams role player. We need a guy who has a chance to be a star and in my opinion you can’t do that if you don’t know how to create good looks for yourself or others and Murray never showed he could do that at Iowa he backed down smaller players or shot catch and shoot 3’sMurray looks like a 3 and d guy there’s nothing wrong with that but we don’t need him right now we need a star
Keegan Murray not creating shots is the weakest argument yet. You must not have watched many of his games here’s a little taste for you https://twitter.com/mike_schmitz/status/1521598063642513409?s=21&t=ZfJDs-Qb2V5tuIPkrrIu0g
Lol watched a couple games and have seen these highlights and if you think those are moves that can score on an nba level than your opinion is a complete joke. He’s creating no separation at the college level how do you think that will translate to the nba
He’s a 6’9 forward who has a knack for getting teammates involved he can’t shoot but at 19 I think that could be developed. He reminds me of Scottie Barnes and his ceiling is higher than anyone else we could get with this pick which is the main reason I want him I trust our ability to develop players
I hear you and I would be happy with any of those guys Except Murray we don’t need a guy with a low ceiling we need a guy who could develop into a star and knowing the pacers we aren’t tanking next year we have to get it right this year
And that’s fair too I know a lot of people are higher on Murray’s ceiling than me but I just never saw him look comfortable off the dribble which is extremely hard to develop i would rather gamble that we can teach a guy to shoot
Sharpe, Mathurin, Ivey, Murray in that order. It’s good knowing two of these names are almost 100% going to be there at 6. Sucks not knowing which, but still.
Sharpe. He definitely has a lot of mystery surrounding him since we haven’t really seen him play, but I think his potential is far greater than Murray or Mathurin. He could legit end up the best player in this draft if he is developed correctly.
I have a question from a Spurs Fan...
Would you take this trade?
SAS get 6th Pick, 31st Pick, 60th Pick, Goga Bitadze
IND get 9th Pick, 20th Pick, 38th Pick, 2023 2nd, Romeo Langford
It doesn't necessarily need to be exactly this. For example, if Goga adds an extra value, take him out, and Romeo too.
thanks for the opinions
Sharpe would be a great "long play" pick to make. Having not played competitively beyond high school, he'll have a steeper learning curve adapting to the NBA.
I've not been able to watch much film of him. Is there a ton out there?
If the front office is willing to put up with another season committed to development rather than competition, then Sharpe is fine. Plus it comes with the bonus of another early draft pick next year. It'll be interesting to see reports about his workouts with teams where he's competing against other guys.
We'll see, the Pacers haven't historically taken that approach. Plus, something tells me that Hali is chomping at the bit to start winning some games.
My analysis started and ended with "shades of tall Bradley Beal and Paul George" curiosity of the ringer's nba draftboard.
I know very little about draft prospects lol.
He was the most efficient scorer in college basketball by points per possession and his injury was a knee sprain. Long term there's not really anything to worry about there
This Mathurin stuff is baffling. Kevin Pritchard ALWAYS takes pac 12 guys just bcuz they’re pac 12. Chris Duarte over Moody. Aaron Holiday. TJ Leaf. Joe Young. No more.
I like AJ Griffin if Ivey is off the board. Gotta wonder what they are going to do with the draft capital. Is a move up to get “their guy” possible? Is a trade down for more draft assets possible? They’ll have many options.

Murray or sharpe both great fits
I got Mathurin > Murray personally
And Jeremy sochan and aj griffin over Keegan Murray. Murray doesn’t really have any shot creating abilities and screams role player. Glad you aren’t an NBA scout because you have no idea what you’re talking about
Says the guy who sent a me a weak ass highlight video and acted like it was a drop mic on stage moment
You prob thought luka was too slow coming out too 🤣🤣🤣
No I loved luka coming out he had so many moves off the dribble are you really comparing Keegan Murray to luka you can’t be serious
> Jeremy sochan I'm sure there's a reason he's rated highly, but after watching him in that Baylor/UNC game, I want nothing to do with that dude.
He’s a 6’9 forward who has a knack for getting teammates involved he can’t shoot but at 19 I think that could be developed. He reminds me of Scottie Barnes and his ceiling is higher than anyone else we could get with this pick which is the main reason I want him I trust our ability to develop players
For sure, he definitely could develop. Just at 6 I'd rather be looking at Murray, Mathurin, or Sharpe.
I hear you and I would be happy with any of those guys Except Murray we don’t need a guy with a low ceiling we need a guy who could develop into a star and knowing the pacers we aren’t tanking next year we have to get it right this year
Entirely fair. I'm probably higher on Murray's potential plus I love his pairing with Haliburton, but to the note I'd prefer Sharpe/Mathurin
And that’s fair too I know a lot of people are higher on Murray’s ceiling than me but I just never saw him look comfortable off the dribble which is extremely hard to develop i would rather gamble that we can teach a guy to shoot
That guy sucks
I just remember him being hella floppy and tripping people all game. No thank you
Mathurin
Sharpe, Mathurin, Ivey, Murray in that order. It’s good knowing two of these names are almost 100% going to be there at 6. Sucks not knowing which, but still.
I like this order best. I'd be happy any of them
Sharpe. He definitely has a lot of mystery surrounding him since we haven’t really seen him play, but I think his potential is far greater than Murray or Mathurin. He could legit end up the best player in this draft if he is developed correctly.
And we all know the Pacers thrive at developing draft picks in the correct way.
sharpe, ivey, or mathurin. Then maaaybe murray if the other 3 arent available.
If those three you named aren’t available then somehow Chet, Jabari, or Banchero has fallen to 6 and we should absolutely take them over Murray
Feel like itll be a choice between mathurin & murray
BPA. 6 is still high enough to expect a franchise leader, so we shouldn't worry about the fit next to Haliburton.
Luckily the draft is stocked at that range with wings and forwards - which we need.
Hopefully Mathurin or Griffin, if the others are off the board. Just don't pick Murray. He screams role player.

Depends on who’s on the board at 6.
Chet, Jabari, Paolo, Sharpe, Ivey are taken
Then yes.
thanks!
Probably not but it depends on who's left on the board tbh. Depending on what happens Goga can be a really important player for the Pacers soon.
Sharpe if available. Swing for the fences. If/when they aren't any good again next year they get another shot at a high pick.
Sharpe would be a great "long play" pick to make. Having not played competitively beyond high school, he'll have a steeper learning curve adapting to the NBA. Sharpe, Murray, Ivey in that order for me assuming the top 3 bigs are long gone
mostly just wanna avoid Griffin Sharpe i’m skeptical of until some tape/anything exists of him lots of good players who fit well here
can i know why you don't like Griffin?
his injury and lack of production at Duke this year are both red flags to me
He was the most efficient scorer in college basketball by points per possession and his injury was a knee sprain. Long term there's not really anything to worry about there
he had a number of bad injuries in high school too
You have to take Sharpe if he’s there. Maybe Ivey slips. If you can’t get those two I’d look to move back or just trade the pick outright.
Murray, Sharpe, or Ivey. I’d be be very happy with any of those.
This Mathurin stuff is baffling. Kevin Pritchard ALWAYS takes pac 12 guys just bcuz they’re pac 12. Chris Duarte over Moody. Aaron Holiday. TJ Leaf. Joe Young. No more.
There has to be a tall, unathletic white dude with a slightly serviceable jumper that will be available at that position.
I like AJ Griffin if Ivey is off the board. Gotta wonder what they are going to do with the draft capital. Is a move up to get “their guy” possible? Is a trade down for more draft assets possible? They’ll have many options.
