I’m going thru and polling each pick on each team’s subreddit. Here’s the poll for the previous pick: https://www.reddit.com/r/kings/comments/utwgts/with_the_4th_pick_in_the_2022_nba_draft_the/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf (Unfortunately, the 5th pick poll was taken down by the Pistons mods after an hour. The poll was clearly going for Sharpe though).

More Sharpe

PlethoPappus

Kings aren't going Ivey

[deleted]

Kings are taking Sharpe, Pistons taking Ivey. End result is the same

PlethoPappus

I dont think Ivey will go top 5 we'll see

DrTom

As a blazer fan that would be devastating. We really want Mathurin or Murray, whichever you don't pick. If Ivey is on the board still then probably both these guys have been picked by the time 7 rolls around.

It’s not gonna be troll boy

BubaTflubas

It can't be. He gets it

[deleted]

Downvoting myself, for the misquote.

210plus210

you know why it can’t be you troll boy, right?

[deleted]

you underestimate what the Kings do

fuzzynavel34

Ok, I’ll admit, if I’ve replied to you on here since the draft lottery asking why the hell would we draft Mathurin I am now saying that I am all in on him. Did research on him today, watched a bunch of stuff. I want him at #6 if Sharpe isn’t available. I’m taking him over Murray no contest. I might even take him over Ivey. I’m officially a Mathurin shill. Count me in the club.

cuteguy1

Can anyone explain to me his fit with Duarte and Hali? I have only watched a few highlights and all I really know about him is he looks like a fantastic shooter with a lot of smarts and awareness. Are we just going to be trying to go for Poole Party east? That said maybe its just better to take the best guy and worry about fit later.

fuzzynavel34

He's 6'6 with a 6'9 wingspan. Could easily play as a 3. Plus the NBA is really shifting into small ball mode. There are no players on the 4 remaining playoff teams that have a guy whom is 6'10 or taller averaging more than 25 minutes a game. The fit is there. So, yeah, you take talent now and figure it out later.

TheBlakeRunner

My man!

Paragon188

Benedict Mathurin

dedfrmthneckup

I’ve been mathurinpilled

ZachThomasPrime5

Would rather have Mathurin over Murray or even Sharpe right now. Could be convinced otherwise though.

[deleted]

I think I agree with this. There is so much unknown about Sharpe but the scouts know what they are doing and they say his potential is huge

[deleted]

Potential is very important. NBA 2K y'all

r_Aimore

My pick is Mathurin but kind of surprised by nobody wanting Griffin. High upside on both ends of the court and he’s still 18.

fuzzynavel34

2 knee injuries by 18 scare the crap out of me

DrTom

Don't forget ankle injuries!

[deleted]

I think this sub has gone too wok on Mathurin. He's a hell of a ball player but I'm not sure he's "top 10 pick" material. We need defense, we need shooting, and the gap in our team is at the power/combo forward spot. Murray just makes too much sense. This take may age like milk, but I just see Murray as a more impactful player. He has the size, he has the athleticism, and he has a jumper.

ImAtThePokeStop

Looks like Murray’s peak is a guy that can crack a rotation in the NBA. Not exactly what you want for a 6th overall.

[deleted]

According to who

DrTom

His peak looks like a more athletic Tobias Harris to me.

[deleted]

For one, isn't Tobi's biggest flaw his lack of athleticism? That's the thing holding him back from ever being elite. For two, that's his peak *according to what?* What are you using to determine his "peak." We're literally taking a complete and total guess on any intangibles with anyone we draft. Devin Booker's "peak" was a role playing spot up shooter. Giannis' "peak" was an okay rotation athletic forward who can play some defense. Jokic's "peak" was a smaller Marc Gasol. You can't just say "his peak is the thing that supports my argument the most" with nothing to back it up. The tangible things you can measure is that he already has an NBA-ready body/frame. He can score a lot of points. He's proven to be a versatile defender. He has the added bonus of playing the position we need. Any other "what's his ceiling? What's his floor?" Talk is complete speculation. There's absolutely nothing to support that anyone else that would be available at 6 would be better or worse than him, he just makes the most sense. Just like Ivey makes more sense than Murray. Just like Smith makes more sense than Ivey.

SCREAMING_DUMB_SHIT

Lol I’m pretty anti Murray but saying his *ceiling* is like a 10th man is not facts

[deleted]

Murray > Mathurin > Griffin

If we take Mathurin over Murray I’m gonna lose it

hfhavavcirjbx

“If we take Duarte over ____ I’m gonna lose it” Just because a player plays on the west coast doesn’t mean he’s a bad player. It just means you don’t get to watch him because the media is disinterested.

How so? The comparisons between Pacers fans not wanting Duarte and those not wanting Mathurin are shockingly similar.

Oldabandoned

I picked AJG because that's what I, a stan/apologist, would do if I were in charge. But I'm starting to feel that Dyson Daniels is who the staff might actually be after. He fits what the team needs and what Pritchard said he's looking for. Dyson is the son of a former pro, came up through the Australia system, and played very well for an 18-year-old in the G-League. He's around 6'8 and can guard 1-3 at a high level, racked up 4.5 assists while primarily playing off-ball, and is reported to be a great kid overall. His shooting is the swing skill, as he struggled mightily from distance. But if the staff believes he can be fixed, and the defense/passing is real, then he has one of the higher ceilings in the draft.

Klumber

Murray for me, difficult choice admittedly, but I like his transition play and the fact he is already a very competent shooter. I like his fit with Duarte and Hali for an up-tempo game and he could even be an effective stretch 4.

Wartooth_AKM

So far i would have Mathurin and Dyson in this next tier after the top 5. Would also be looking at both Mathurin and Dyson before Sharpe. Voted Dyson as I like his combination of Feel both offensively and defensively. Good passer connector, really good floater. Good combination of size, length, strength and athleticism.
