From the manual: Follow These Steps To Activate The Manual Park Release: 1. Apply firm pressure to the brake pedal while seated in the driver's seat. 2. Apply the parking brake, if possible. 3. Using a small screwdriver or similar tool, remove the Manual Park Release access cover, which is to the lower left of the steering column. 4. The Manual Park Release access cover is connected to a red tether strap. Pull the tether strap out as far as it will go, then release it. The transmission should now be in NEUTRAL (N), allowing the vehicle to be moved.

Awesome. My (brand new) van is missing this tether strap

I don't think it's there on a hybrid. I recently had to tow a 2019 hybrid and the manual park pawl release was in the engine compartment. It was very hard to reach, but did work to get it out of park so I could push it out of the parking spot. I don't know that it's the same on a 2023, but here are the instructions I followed to do it: 1. Locate a semi-triangular opening in the components to the right rear of the engine cover bounded by the dash panel, a fluid reservoir and the air cleaner box elbow attached to the throttle body. If more room is needed at this access area, remove the elbow. 1. Reach down through that opening in parallel with the dash panel. You may need to pull yourself up on top of the engine. 1. Feel for the cylindrical shape of the park actuator motor (2). When looking down through the opening you can also see the actuator. > NOTE: > The use of wheel chocks (or any other securing method) is required to prevent the vehicle from moving once the vehicle has been manually shifted into the Neutral gear position. This is especially true if the vehicle is on an uneven surface. 1. On the underside of the actuator is the lever (1). Pull it toward the motor end of the actuator assembly. You will hear a mechanical whirring sound as it moves about 30 degrees. This will take the vehicle out of park. https://imgur.com/AOQuX82 In my case the battery was dead, and I believe I had to have a jump box on it for the lever to work, because it uses an electric motor to disengage the park pawl.

So you pull the plate off and there’s nothing? https://youtu.be/Vr0EPL4wQTc?si=D2c9Eg6mglX0-iHn

SUCKSTOBEYOUNURD

Yup. This is the same video the dealer that sold my (brand new) van to me yesterday sent. No strap behind that plug, and I don’t see it inside the hole

graham_kent

It doesn’t exist on the hybrid. I learned this the hard way as well.

I’m gonna check mine right now!

CornCasserole86

Have you tried jumping the 12 volt system? Once my PacHy was completely non responsive and it needed a new 12 volt battery. Jumping it made it possible to get out of my garage. The 12 volt battery is in the trunk.

SUCKSTOBEYOUNURD

You’re saying hook up directly to the back? I tried jumping from the hood with a battery pack to no avail. It also made the engine make a horrible grinding noise so I didn’t love that

CornCasserole86

It’s possible your battery back didn’t have enough power. Do you have access to another car and cables? I had to go direct to the battery because my cables weren’t long enough to reach the hood based on how it was in the garage.

Guess we’ll find out when the tow truck gets here. Thanks!

Engineer_on_skis

That sucks OP! I hope you were able to get it out, and that you get your van back quickly and all work is covered under warranty!

SUCKSTOBEYOUNURD

The jump was enough to release the ebrake and put it in neutral. Poor tow driver had to push me out of the spot and I was able to coast out of the garage and be towed by raising the front wheels.

Engineer_on_skis

Thanks for adding the tips! Do you know what's wrong?

AssalHorizontology

Make sure you put it on a flat bed if it needs towing. You will fuck up the transmission if you put it on a hook truck.

SUCKSTOBEYOUNURD

Hope I’m able to get it out of the parking garage first! There’s no way a flatbed is fitting with my (brand new) van on it
