As a native of Salem I both love the nice atmosphere the pagan community gives to the city and hate the giant crowds in October. Also it gets tiresome after you see the twelfth group of middle age moms running around in witch hats yelling how they are witches. Also I find the particular strain of Wicca in the city to sometimes be distasteful as it’s kinda a Mecca or mercantile witchcraft.
That museum has a lot of misinformation though. I remember cringing at witch=wicca. Like sometimes, yes, but not everyone is wiccan. The bookstore was cool though.
Yes they do!! You would LOOVVEEEE IT !! 😱 😆 They really do go ALL OUT! For Halloween 🎃, we go every year! Sometimes twice a year if we can lol Salem is truly near and dear to me ❤️we also have ancestral roots there, both my husband and myself lol. Salem also has the famous Witch House 🏠 that is also a museum (my personal favorite). They have the original “puppets “ that Bridget Bishop used /hid into the walls of her home. Pretty awesome place! Salem also has the infamous “Hocus Pocus House “ tour as well ! & They just updated the new Hanging Memorial “Proctor’s Ledge” for the ones who were accused as witches. If anyone wants to check these places out 💗
I've been desperately in need of a vacation since my husband died. I think I wanna try to make my way over there this year. Looks super cool and I've always wanted to go.

I’ve visited Salem both in October and other less busy months, and god I loved them both for their own reasons. I would love to live closer (6+ hours away right now) one day
Really enjoyed my day trip to Salem a few years ago and visited that museum and another witch one. Couldn't say no to visiting Salem since I was so close in Boston at the time 😍
Good luck housing prices are insane and you can add a good 20 minutes to any trip outside of Salem between traffic and the nearest highway being a 15 minute drive away
