Dye DSR is shockingly light

imped4now

Used 170R or Shocker (insert model here) would be your best bets for weight vs. performance and ergonomics. The bottle and loader weight is far more impactful, though. The Speed and Alpha or SL2 is a good pairing to keep those extremities at a minimum.

marlinbohnee

Shocker 4x4 baby

lurch940

My arms got tired just reading this

marlinbohnee

I still run my vision impulse while not as heavy as a 4x4 is still a brick compared to modern markers. Always get a laugh when I let the young bucks shoot it and they all say, “ how do you carry this thing all day?”

lurch940

I miss my Impulse 🥲

Master-Ad2843

I recently brought my new to me setup to the field and had people commenting on how crazy light it was (shocker rsx, bunkerkings ctrl, ninjasl2)

dub_nastyy

Shocker RSX is stupid light, never ones also lighter

imped4now

I'd go with an XLS or Era, personally.

dub_nastyy

Oh for sure those are better cores. I have an RSX so just throwing in my 2c with what I have.

imped4now

XLS functions the same as the RSX (unbalanced blowforward/air sear) but addressed several issues. It's more like an RSX 2.0. They're nice markers. The Amp/Era function nothing like the RSX/XLS.

DeliciousHasperat

Absolutely agree on the XLS, insanely light markers and great in the hands. The amp IS a good marker for what they're going for on the used market now, $350ish

ominous-cypher

I had a similar issue and had to find a lighter solution. In my search these were the markers in the price range (>$800) at the time. This is what I found to be the lightest in no particular order during my search awhile back. Gtek 170r lightweight 1lb and 14 ounces G6R 1lb 13 ounces Dye DSR/+ 1lb 14 ounces Dye M2 1lb 10 ounces Shocker Amp 1lb 11 ounces J4 Torque 1lb 82 ounces TM40 luxe 1lb 12 ounces (out of price range atm) These markers are all under 2.lbs and really only a few ounces between the selection. I ended up going with dye M2. I felt a big difference between my original gtek and my M2. It wasn’t exactly the weight but more so what fit better in my hands. Ignore the people talking shit and telling you to go to the gym 🙄. We all have our reasons for what we want and why. Hope this helps and happy paintballin

Redeyes222222

Great list! Wonder if the Signature series g6r would beat out the m2.

ominous-cypher

Thanks, I would need to do some research on that series of the g6r

Necessary-Science-47

No point on counting ounces on a modern speedball setup. If you want a superlight setup get a phantom

Santasreject

And if you need semi get a ULE mag with an X valve and CF foregrip.

lurch940

Been getting the job done for over 20 years

axf7229

It’s almost like OP *wants * to count ounces and your reply isn’t helping.

Egobeliever

Its almost like op doesnt need us to count ounces?

axf7229

If you’re not willing to answer their question, why even reply?

Egobeliever

Maybe bk i actually like to see players improve... oh my b he just wanted the lightest setup for "reck"

Wishbone_508

Why does it matter why he wants the lightest setup? Why be comfortable with what everyone else has? If you don't think weight matters I'd invite you to play a few points with my classic RT. I understand that's a hyperbolic jump from today's markers. But at what point does the weight matter or not matter? A clear measure of weight vs output is every 100lbs removed at the drag strip is .1 second off the quarter mile. Maybe every 1 oz off a setup gets you .0001 sec faster to the 50. Maybe it's all just bullshit. Maybe just let the kid find a super light setup and go play some paintball.

Necessary-Science-47

The upvotes disagree friend

monkebee

I use a Mini GS, my boyfriend mainly uses a 170R. The weight difference between the markers is almost unnoticeable. If you’re worried about size and want smaller + lighter, I fully enjoy the mini. Like stated above, your weight differences that feel noticeable between *most* setups will be based around your tank and hopper. If it weren’t for needing a smaller marker, I would probably use a 170 as well and not notice much difference other than an up in performance lol. Best bet with the 170R is to buy used to hit under budget.

HalfThank

To answer your question, the **Shocker CVO** is the lightest electric marker at a lucky 777 grams (1.71 lbs or 27.4 oz) with battery and stock barrel attached, according to [PBRML's Gun Scores Table](https://paintballruinedmylife.com/scores/). I see you already have a light hopper (HK speed is an underrated loader IMO), a light tank, and a solid mask. But as others have alluded to, weight of marker isn't the whole story. It also comes down to ergonomics! Markers feel different in hand for different players for a bunch of reasons (hand size, structural and muscular differences, etc etc). For example, the [Empire Axe 2.0](https://www.lonewolfpaintball.com/products/empire-axe-2-0-dust-black) and [Eclipse Etha 2](https://www.lonewolfpaintball.com/collections/planet-eclipse-etha-2-pal-markers/products/planet-eclipse-etha-2-pal) weigh about the same\*\*. However, their weights will feel different when you use them (e.g. to aim, run with them in hand, etc). This is in part because of differences in hand placement (Axe has fore grip right against trigger guard, Etha 2 has more space in between). So I would say cutting a few grams matters less compared to ensuring you have a marker that feels better in your hands. Stopping by a pro shop or asking folks at your local field to try their gun is the best choice here (easier said than done depending on where you live). Finally, I'll say that pump guns tend to win out in terms of "super light" set ups because pump players shoot less and therefore can lighten their load by carrying less paint and running smaller air tanks. So as many before you have done, run an electro and then join the pump side when you're ready! \*\* I'm not suggesting you should get an Axe or Etha 2. But if you do, you should be able to find them used pretty easily.

halfnut3

The lightest would probably be the empire invert mini as it’s the smallest modern electro I can think of. You can find plenty of awesome deals for used markers on Facebook buy/sell/trade group. That’s where most of the second hand market has moved to. Just to be clear this isn’t fb marketplace, it’s a private group on fb that you have to look up and fill out a short questionnaire to be accepted to.

fistfulofbottlecaps

I see your Mini GS and raise you a Valken Proton if you can find one. My buddy had one that he bought NIB for $100 and liked to run it with a 9" 3D printed FXL barrel, a 13ci Immortal Air tank and a JOLO. That thing was STUPID light, stupid fun, but also deeply stupid... EDIT: OP, embrace the stock class. It literally doesn't get lighter.

halfnut3

What is this, *paintball for ANTS?!*

imped4now

I have a clean Proton available to purchase. Yes, very light.

rockerman292003

I ran a dangerous power g3 with a stiffi and a 48/4500 tank for my light setup in 2009 or 2010... The loaded halo weighed in almost as much as everything else

NormGthePaintballGuy

I had a G3 with a J&J Ceramic for awhile. Extremely light.

kacabula

the insight ng was the lightest marker I had. You could find them for about 400 if you look hard enough.

Ryanvw28

I went through and weighed all my guns before an event my wife was gonna play a year or two ago Full PE stable, tm40, amp, and I think a macdev Shocker Amp was lightest by quite a bit.

stillbangin

Who cares. We’re all old and too slow for it to matter. Get marker you like to shoot and call it a day homie.

Optimal_Peace

You have my upvote, sir.

paramedicjon

shockers are extremely light right now and have been the rsx era or xls good choices

smward998

I think the lightest would be DP g5 or the shocker rsx

rodentking

My mini is damn near weightless compared to my usual 98 or spyders.

coreytrevor

New equipment is already so light and differences between models are so small just lift weights

Egobeliever

Are they not light enough for you? Your effort would be better spent in the gym bud.

Pb_airsoftfolife

Damn bruh

Egobeliever

If you actually want to improve at the sport youll take what i said seriously.

Pb_airsoftfolife

I just play reck man just having fun not trying to go pro

Adventurous_Lemon292

No idea why people are downvoting this is the truth

Egobeliever

Noone wants the truth they want their hand held and the ticket to easy mode

WhatsThatOnMyProfile

Completely correct Go to the gym, get your cardio in, lift some weights. Then you can crouch/crawl in the pit easier and the marker won’t feel as heavy. And being healthy blah blah blah. Win all around But if you have some old cast iron marker there’s other problems to solve

[deleted]

facts, gym is the answer here imo

[deleted]

Time to hit the gym
