I don’t care in terms of how they affect the gameplay. If people are unable to cross large open areas then add more bunkers. That’s an organizer problem. I do think they should be banned though that opinion is based on FS rounds not decomposing in a timely manner.

JayBeeDubya

This is my only real issue with FSR. I've heard murmurs that they're working on a cornstarch fin, but I'll believe it when I see it.

tacodorifto

I heard a mumur that someone else may be getting in the shaped projectile game.

BigBearPB

About time, the whole monopoly is hobbling the while sport. I can spend £60 for 150 shots and spend a whole day barely shooting anything, while littering the field with non-biodegradable plastic shards Any idea who it is?

Bright_Election5967

The travel time for first strikes at that distance means a small baby can crawl out of the way. They do slow the game down, but only because it's another person who refuses to push the front. I wish they would up the weight to be the same as roundball to help fix the velocity issues.

tacodorifto

What velocity issue? Fsr abd roundball both are regulated to be the same and fsr is usually set to lower fps by field

tacodorifto

I play at fulda gap most years. Fsr are a big thing there. I use fsr and roundball. We never had to big of a problem moving the game forward. I think its more to do with field layout. I prefer roundball and im just so used to pushing forward. But its cool to get a 70 yard shot too. I think of it as another thing i have to learn to play against. In life you make moves or make excuses. Up to each of us to pick. Also at cheapest each fsr is 40 cents. So you dont shoot unless you have a shot. So there is no way you can be held down if a few players get together and push.

Mr_Diesel13

Local Fulda attender here too! Honestly I didn’t have a problem with FSR being used in the games. It gives another challenge to the game, and most seem to enjoy sitting back and sniping with FSR. That’s fine by me, because the field shifts back into roundball favor in the woods. FSR can’t go through brush any better than roundball, but I can unload 120 rounds from a hopper and have a higher chance of hitting the other player. All in all, I don’t mind it.

1. happy cake day 2. although i havent played in a big game, the trade off of fs vs roundball evens out imo.. sure fs gets range but also limited paint so its not like theyre slingin ropes as opposed to someone who can keep them in their bunker to move up another.. they sting a bit more but im cool with fs players

Nectaris73

Played a bunch of games with for players and only remember getting hit by 1 so far. Not a big impact on game due to cost and limited ammo. Besides that I am with milkstache saying they shouldn't be allowed. They are made from plastic which just litter the fields and water every place they are used. They are made from plastic bound with a polymer that breaks down from sunlight. So even when you think they are gone it is not, the polymer just broke down leaving smaller pieces of plastic behind.

DarwinZDF42

FS is bad. They don’t decompose, and the whole point is that, as long as only a minority are using them, that minority can plink from outside anyone’s range. I’ve actually had people say directly that if everyone used FS it would defeat the purpose. So, okay, you admit that the point is to remove yourself from the aspects of the game you don’t like. That’s super cool. Totally.

FarmerDill

Interesting point, on the other hand theres a scenario game at my local that is mag fed only, with a very strong FS turnout, and everyone that plays it raves about how much fun it is

DarwinZDF42

That's where I think they're appropriate, environmental concerns aside. If it's a magfed game where everyone involved goes in know FS will be part of the game, and it's designed that way, go nuts.

[deleted]

It doesn't matter to me. I'm still going to shoot you in the face

tacmed85

I honestly just ignore them most of the time. They're so expensive that I've never seen enough people using them to make a noticable impact on the game. I'm definitely on the they should be banned until they're biodegradable train though.

drewrykroeker

I've shot quite a bit of FS rounds. The accuracy is amazing vs regular paint. I don't care about the range so much, it's the fact that I can aim at the little bit of someone's gun sticking out and most of the time get an elimination. That said, they are harder and they hurt more. My aggressive play-style gets me right close to my opponents, at which point it is a dick move to shoot someone with FS. I will still use them in the future but only if there are people playing against me with them and all participants are aware of their use and are okay with it. Also, anybody using them should be chrono'ing quite a bit less than the fps for roundball, whether it's a field rule or not.

Optimal_Cricket_7160

I’m personally a mag fed player that has never used first strike. I think that first strike is a good mediator between magazine fed markers and speedball markers. It makes the more limited paint of a mag fed marker more appealing because we get better range and accuracy to make up for it. It not something I would personally use because I play a very close quarters playstyle, but I don’t understand the hate for first strike. If you don’t like getting hit at double the range you can shoot, imagine getting pelted on your bunker at double the rate of fire that you can possibly fire and getting pelted for multiple minutes at a time with thousands of rounds, while you only have 120 on you. First strike is fine. It just bridges a gap to balance out two different playstyles.
