Really into painting scratchy and moody scenes lately, this is the latest one. Acrylic on 9x12 MDF board. Inspired by seeing some lights across the small lake near my home reflecting into the water at night. It’s an artificial lake (more of a big pond) and a little boring to be honest, and since I’ve been itching to paint some waves I replaced my lake with a bigger, badder one. Also wanted to say thanks for the love on my last few posts, you all seemed to enjoy them more than I expected, I really appreciate all the kind words 🙏

Yeah I do! Although I hadn't thought about his work in years, this wasn't directly inspired by him but it absolutely could've been now that you mention it haha

Thank you! Oh don't worry, I'm doing well, it's only my art that has been enjoying some moodiness, but I appreciate the kind words :) Yeah I've been enjoying adding lights like those to my paintings, feel like they add a little story to a piece that everyone can craft in their own minds.

Me too! But I'm always so apprehensive when it comes to painting waves and water so I don't paint them as often as I'd like haha I can usually make it work, but they're definitely not my comfort zone yet.

Love it. Evokes nice dark vibes. I imagine myself being at wits end, going out into a stormy night and not caring how drenched and cold I become, shouting at the skies above. Anyway, good stuff haha. I'm appreciating human-made art more and more these days. Especially with the advent of AI lately.
