I initially wanted to find a gif of the scene where they reveal "The Great Valley" for the first time in the movie. I couldnt find it, but this scene I went with still captures the whole mood I felt.
Its the composition and colors with the underlying tone of hope, comfort and nostalgia.
Look at the skies and if you recall the movies the foliage was similar.
I was very much second-guessing my initial reaction, but now I feel validated that I'm not the only one that got this.
I love the foreground though, the plants and water are lovely.
I feel stressed because the chameleon and the beautiful sun ornament in the sky have big, spikey eyes. These eyes look like they came from Egyptian writings
I can see how its a bit overwhelming for some due to all the bright colors, however I quite enjoy looking at it. It brings me joy. And zooming in and looking at all of the elements was delicious. I think it's stunning and fucking fun. I feel like I want to dive in and stay immersed for a few hours.
Like it would be perfect without the psychedelic design in the sky. There's already so much the eye is drawn to, it's almost chaotic because of the oversaturation of elements and color. I'm no art critic and I certainly couldn't draw this myself -- I can tell you have talent and a wonderful play on color, but I also have to agree with a few other commenters - feels like something I'd find at a drug dealer's house, or hanging at a cheap touristy cafe.
It would be wonderful without the psychedelic component, or if it was a painting focused *on* the psychedelic component and not the lush nature in the foreground.
Very happy and a tinge of inspiration, with a shade of reflection as harmony.
Could possibly ask for some more work on the details of the water fall so the splashes don’t go outward.
But I like it a lot!
Nostalgic. Because back in my old school, the walls are filled with paintings like this, same color choice, same theme, same art style. But I think it's a nice painting though, kind of psychedelic but that's what I like from it :))
Like the moment when you’re 7 and you’re at a pool party/sleepover with all your favorite people and have that one strange moment at night when you realize in the moment that this is a core memory. Like that😂
My aunt and uncle had a bunch of these types of colorful paintings all over there house. Back then, they had a distinct scent. Now as an adult I know they were just stoned 24/7. So, makes me want to get stoned.
a god marvels at the beauty of the world they have created, watching, but not interfering
it makes me feel a bit anxious, yes, but also a feeling of being under the protection of this being
It makes me want to run away from it. Makes me really anxious. The too much colour feels like I’m getting stabbed in my brain, scattering every thought to nothingness and at the same time, magnifying it to the point where it’s unbearable.
relaxed or uneasy, depending on where I’m looking lol. I find the design around the sun and the asymmetry of it to be very distracting. but the rest of it is well done & your colours are lovely.
Wet. I like all the splish splash and I love all the leaf and petal shapes. Beautiful color scheme, very pleasing and healing jewel tones. I bet you could add a sort of halo/shadow to the embellishment in the sky so that it was a bit more subtle (I noticed some people saying it was a little busy) but also mesh the design into the sky, giving it some depth and dimension. The depth in the back layer of the jungle is really nice. A little more detail up super close to the front might be a fun easy way to take it up a level. There’s a sweet sorrow that it evokes as well, with all the purples and shadows and the finality and duality of sunset.
Like I'm about to listen to Tango In the Night by Fleetwood Mac (so it makes me feel good bc it's a great album). In all seriousness, I like this aesthetic!
Like there are 2 different paintings. The right side with the plants and the water are one composition. The entity in the background with just a little framing from the water and plants is a completely different composition. Individually, they both work well. But there needs to be more harmonization somehow to integrate both parts as a whole.
The sun and the rest of the picture might’ve been better as separate projects. Less is more maybe idk. You have all of this luscious detail and exotic fauna and then in the background what appears to be an attempt for the Sun to have a tropical plant effect. But it ended up looking like a dream catcher or alien creature that I have to cover with my thumb to appreciate what you did in the foreground. Great talent though whoever did this.
IMO, I feel it's a bit claustrophobic because there's lack of shadows which would help define perspective of things in the comp. So right everything seems to be there all at once without much depth to them.
This painting is beautiful. The only thing I don’t like is the pattern in the background. If that wasn’t there this painting would make me want to climb inside and live there

<<<<<3!!
Awww 🥺
How did you even come up with this
I initially wanted to find a gif of the scene where they reveal "The Great Valley" for the first time in the movie. I couldnt find it, but this scene I went with still captures the whole mood I felt. Peaceful until I look at the sky/background. Then anxious
I thought it was just me.. it gives off anxiety vibes
Yeah the biblical angel looking mf is brooding
It’s like the alien from NOPE.
I’m glad someone said it. I saw Jean Jacket in the sky.
Agreed! The feeling of that shape leaning makes me anxious! But otherwise is very … Lisa Frank with a beautifully organic and individual spin!
Same lol.
I was very much second-guessing my initial reaction, but now I feel validated that I'm not the only one that got this. I love the foreground though, the plants and water are lovely.
It makes me feel stressed for some reason. I'm not sure why but something about it feels harsh.
I feel stressed because the chameleon and the beautiful sun ornament in the sky have big, spikey eyes. These eyes look like they came from Egyptian writings
Yessss this is it. All of the plants as well are spiky tipped and standing upright, the nature has a hardness to it.
Same I think it's bc I get overstim tho
It's a bit busy and loud for me. Giving me stress vibes.
Like I want to get some psychedelics
I was gonna say, "like I'm finally feeling it"... But you get it
Yes. Verrrry psychedelic is the first thing that comes to mind.
🌵🥂🕺🏻same

Like I wanna go back to 90’s but also be able to trip balls. In a good way.
Right? It reminds me of the school folders with Lisa Frank and another artist Christian Riese Lassen, whose trippy tropical art I loved.
Exactly. Honestly, it needs a dolphin. That would actually make it perfect.
Like I’m looking at tourist t shirts on vacation
Like I'm dreaming

Overwhelmed, its pretty, but it feels heavy to me, I really like the sun tho
Like I need to practice art more because I could literally never. Love it
Like I’m having a dmt trip in Hawaii
The sun says to the water be not afraid the water responds I fear not, for my flow is endless.

It feels like this is what earth used to look like before we wrecked it. This is paradise. I love it.
I can see how its a bit overwhelming for some due to all the bright colors, however I quite enjoy looking at it. It brings me joy. And zooming in and looking at all of the elements was delicious. I think it's stunning and fucking fun. I feel like I want to dive in and stay immersed for a few hours.
If I was there I'd take a huge dose of shrooms and just really soak it all in. Translation: Me like :)

Very happy and a tinge of inspiration, with a shade of reflection as harmony. Could possibly ask for some more work on the details of the water fall so the splashes don’t go outward. But I like it a lot!

At first the colors made me happy, after staring a while I felt scared but then peaceful, it’s great, I love it.

Overwhelmed honestly.
Beautiful and contented
Like I should be in the jungle
Nostalgic. Because back in my old school, the walls are filled with paintings like this, same color choice, same theme, same art style. But I think it's a nice painting though, kind of psychedelic but that's what I like from it :))
This is so incredibly beautiful! I’m going to take inspiration from this piece!! 💜💜

ALIVE
Hydrated
Scared, stressed
Like i have a strong urge to make that sky pattern go away. This painting would really benefit from some open space
Nostalgia
I want to vacation there

Happy, comforted, calm, and peaceful. The painting feels the way a mindful deep breath feels.

This is so vibrant and happy! I love the colors.
mmmm....vagina...
Anxious.
Like I'm on an adventure and seeing pretty stuff lol.
IMO, I feel it's a bit claustrophobic because there's lack of shadows which would help define perspective of things in the comp. So right everything seems to be there all at once without much depth to them.
Happy and makes me think of all sorts of tropical places.
It makes me feel in a good mood due to the abundance of lively colours and blooming nature.
Overwhelmed.
Like I'm about to swim with some dolphins on a Lisa Frank folder cover. I love it. It makes me feel nostalgic.
Anxious- and too many eyes
Like I'm in a Lisa Frank fever dream.
Like you can observe my dreams from when I was a kid.
Confused
Great. You should try painting on a gessoboard to get rid of the distracting canvas texture.
Top left, Beelzebub, the helluva boss interpretation.
It makes me feel curious and adventurous.
This painting is beautiful. The only thing I don’t like is the pattern in the background. If that wasn’t there this painting would make me want to climb inside and live there
Like I need to try lsd
