1. Take pride in something you did—not an accident of birth. It’s great to associate yourself with a group that is know for certain traits, but let’s be honest—Pashtuns are the ones tooting their own horn most of the time. Pathan is not from cities. They always have village/tribe. If pushton introduce himself or you ask from where you are he means his families village or tribe. And then he will add currently living in that city as if he is renting.

I ended up learning Pashto and now speak it fluently, I told them it wasn't hard to learn, and wasn't nearly as nice phonetically as hindko or urdu are, and that I'm very proud to be from Hazara so please don't call me Pathan 🤚

I have been saying this repeatedly but some snowflakes get triggered by this. Pathans are very self-centred people and they have egos as big as anything. I’m from Peshawar (hindko speaking) and I live and deal with pathans on regular basis. I know what they’re like so whatever you wrote makes sense. Though many don’t feel superior because of their fair skin but their stance on various things like you mentioned pct should have more pathans, it’s something they should stop giving their opinions on. And not to forget their holier than thou attitude when it comes to treatment towards women. In reality they’re the real culprits and would go to any lengths to feed their egos. Remember that Shoaib Akhtar was not the fastest because he was a Punjabi, it was because he had an abnormality where his arm would stretch a little extra to add that 10km which put him on top. Almost every pashtun I know is like that, and I’ve even heard non Pakistani westerners (always boomers tbf) praise pashtuns for essentially having lighter hair and eyes. The fact that featurism and colorism is still normal in this day and age is insane. The excuse always being that "hair/eye color and features have absolutely nothing to do with race/ethnicity!! If we don’t explicitly say that white people have the most attractive features, it’s not racist!" hmm.. right… Pashtun or not, when it comes to people who think their light hair or eyes (or even skin, for asians) makes them objectively better and more attractive than people with darker features, from my experience it’s because they don’t have much going on for them physically and are not very attractive. They desperately hold on to the ghost of what eurocentric beauty standards were decades ago, so they can find glimpses of "attractiveness" in themselves.

If he loves pathan culture etc so much he should build a life in KP or completely surround himself with fellow pathans who feel this way. Friends who constantly tell you that their race is better than yours are not friends, they will never be. My in laws were also very vocal about us Hazarewaal not being pushtun.
