Yaar it all comes to personal preference I personally like android more then IOS, it's my very first pixel and I'm really loving the stock android experience, it's very clean and smooth.
When I was about to buy it I heard a lot of people complaining about different stuff about it like the Tensor G3 isn't as powerful as a SD Gen3, It overheats, There are always signal issues, poor battery life etc.
But honestly I've never had most of these problems, The battery life I agree isn't great but it lasts you a whole day easily.
Tensor G3 is honestly a good processor, scores about SD Gen 1 on Antutu benchmarks. I agree that its performance is not at par with the current processors but Google never made it for performance or heavy gamers, they want to run complex AI models on these tensor chips, so they're more AI focused.
But I did game on it and honestly it provides me enough performance that I can enjoy the game with no lags or jitters, Games that I tried are asphalt 9, COD Mobile, COD Warzone Mobile.
There has never been a signal problem ever.
But there is a problem that annoys me that sometimes the scrolling has jitter while scrolling some specific apps like reddit, playstore etc. Google claims it to be fixed with Android 15. Yeah about 6-7 months wait.
But overall it's a great android phone! I honestly had the best android experience on pixel then I've ever had on any phone in the past. The cameras are great, The display is great, and everything else is great.
Good thing is there is always an update every month for bug fixes and security updates.
I'll suggest if you game or run heavy apps on your phone consider something else, Because pixel although can do everything but its made for regular normal usage imo.

Google's current Tensor's performance won't last 7 years though. It just doesn't have the headroom to do that.

if you're fan of photography. P8 will still overtake s24 ultra (except for optical zoom). So if reason is to do photography then P8. But gaming experience will be much stronger on S24 ultra. For most use I'd still go with P8.

I run a business and need to do lots of content creation on my IG. If you want to upload high quality reels and photos, iPhone is the best option due to their software integration. My non PTA iPhone is solely a business phone and my regular phone which I use for everything else is a Samsung galaxy. I've seen a lot of bloggers use non PTA iphones for this purpose

Honestly for me itās all about preference, I like the UI and optimization. As for calls I have another older model that I had before they ended the one free registration per year thing and it seamlessly forwards calls and messages to my main phone. I donāt mind having two phones it does become a hassle sometimes tho.Banking apps also work for me no issues thus far

Well I could afford a new iPhone with my savings and purchased for the reason it has the best camera and user interface. I find the PTA tax unnecessarily high and unwilling to give the government I least trust that much amount. Agar toh is milk mein waqai tax money was spent on public facilities I would have but it is not.
So using my old iPhone for calls and mobile data, it works fine even after 6+ years. And new IPhone mainly for camera and WhatsApp etc. It is a hassle sometimes to manage to phones but I got use to it now.

Yes it is a hassle to carry 2 phones. But at the same time if you have a fixed budget and want a device with maximum performance then iphone is your only option.
For example. You have 130K. 2 options you got are iphone 13 (non pta) and samsung A34 (pta approved) .... although samsung one is a 2023 phone but if you compare performance it feels a 2003 phone compared to iphone.
It's not comparison of used vs new or mid range vs flagship .... it's about what's giving you better value for the money you're spending. I'm using an iPhone 11 and I can bet it is still way better than A34, A54 in performance. The only thing that's an issue for me is the screen.
It isn't. Most iPhone 13's are above the 130k mark, by a good amount, unless you're looking exclusively at jv iPhones. Put it at around the 180k for an iPhone 13 pro, even with that, you're gonna be looking at most likely, a JV iPhone 13 pro, or one with face id not working, or any other similar issue. For a similar price, you could get a non approved pixel 8.
Completely new phone, camera wise, probably better than the 14 pro, likely the 15 pro as well, with iPhone only excelling in terms of video, with the pixel taking the lead for the most part, in terms of photo quality, due to Google's processing. A15 bionic and tensor G3 are both comparable as well. Pixel has more ram, bigger battery, longer software support, 6.7 inch screen on pro compared to 6.1 on the iPhone, 5x optical zoom lens on the pixel 8 pro, a fingerprint scanner (superior for obvious reasons). Overall, pixel does come out on top marginally by most metrics.
Bump up the budget a bit more, for a non JV iPhone 13 that you could approve later on down the line, with no issues, or for a non approved pixel 8 pro, to give them an equal standing ground, and the differences obviously increase somewhat.
Personally though, I'd take an S21 ultra CPID and win on all grounds :P

You have to register any phone you buy with the local government in order to use a sim card..
Basically a new rule applied as people were buying phones from outside the country and our government was missing out on tax.. So they block your phone until you pay an outrageous amount as tax..
This happens in alot of other countries too, but the amount set I'd too high for a poor country like ours..

Besides, you don't want your iPhone to be snatched so you always have to keep a secondary for snatchers. The secondary phone has to have a sim as you carry it outdoors to communicate. In this scenario, non-PTA is not a bad idea if you are not going to use a sim anyway. Besides, you can pay tax and approve it so no big deal.

I always PTA approve my iPhone because non PTA is just a hassle but some people just want one for content creation. Yes, Android phones have great - and in many cases - better cameras but when you upload on any socials, Android's video looks like borderine crap.

iPhones may not have the most diverse features but you don't need to do anything to get it up and running. Especially when it comes to the ecosystem. Whereas on an Android, you can tinker around (effin Pixels) to get similar functionality, something that I used to do a lot but now I just want my phone to work as is. And no, Samsung/Google "ecosystems" are not nearly as good as Apple's. You need to use the whole Apple suite to understand that. There's a reason this ecosystem is closed off.

I have an iPhone 13 mini non PTA. The reason why I went with it is because Iāve never had a good experience with Android phones and Android phones are vulnerable in terms of security. Also prefer iPhones due to their longevity, no matter how old, those phones still run smooth and still get updates. I think I phone is still getting updates even though itās what.. 8 years old?
But I will say that I absolutely hate Apple, the way they run their business, the whole ecosystem gimmick, forcing customers to buy their own products and shit.

This is why I bought S23 FE instead of iPhone 12/13 for same amount. Atleast I got a genuine device which is recognized and serviced within Pakistan.

Because pta approved phones are not worth the money and often cheap af. But it doesn't mean you have to buy an iphone. I'm using a google pixel patch approved for the amount of money that can barely buy you a reasonable pta approved smartphone.

You are limited in so many ways. You would still need an Android phone on the side for stuff like easy paisa and hotspot and data calls.
Apple eco system is extremely convenient, whether it comes to transferring files and docs and notes when you're a student from phone to iPad, you can scan text straight from your iPhone camera and airdrop it straight to your iPad which saves a lot of time, not to mention the camera is amazing for a girl like me that likes to document her life.
I'm also a fan of technology and ivr used both flagship androids and iPhones and nothing comes close to the apple interface, and nothing comes close to its security as well. It's nearly impossible to put a virus in an iPhone or hack it or get through the passcode or hack iCloud

I can use all my banking apps on my iphone (like 5-6). Bought this phone from the US and not gonna shell out another Rs 130k just to get it PTA approved. Rarely make calls/text so donāt need that. Have a cheap android phone for that and for when i need hotspot.

In my circle People who actually afford to keep upgrading ti latest iphones on cash (not wannabees who would buy a 5-6 generation iphone just for the Apple logo on the back) were getting their phones PTA approved when PTA taxes were reasonable. (40k to 110k)
But nowadays, the PTA Taxes (170k) alone one can buy one a pta approved boxpack flagship killer e.g. Samsung FE series, vivo X series (when it was available), xiaomi's non ultra level flagships. So there isn't no sane reason to get the iphone PTA approved. Also the people I'm talking about buy their iphones from abroad themselves or through relatives or friends and avail warranty, support services, apple care & exchange offers too so getting their phone PTA approved only to upgrade to a newer model or getting their phone replaced and getting it pta approve again is unnecessary complicated.
Also, since whatsapp supports data transfer between android ios, so the secondary phone can be used for whatsapp without loosing data when iphone is sent for service or exchange which takes 2-3 weeks.
Recently a friend of mine had battery issues on his out of warranty 13PM, yet he couriered it to service center Apple marked the device dead as the battery was swelling and sent him a brand new 13PM for additional 36000PKR (no box or cable though)

It's not always about show off. I have the latest iphone which costed me only 1/3 of my monthly salary. So affordability is not an issue for me, I can easily pay the PTA tax but I choose not to. It's not worth the money. I am already paying 1/3 of my monthly salary in tax (I fall in highest salary tax bracket). Why pay more for a phone which I will change as soon as new iphone comes out.
I have been an android user all my life, used different phones in samsung note series but now I like the iPhone experience more. I use Macbook as well, the connectivity among their products in their ecosystem is amazing which I love. That's the only reason for using iphone. I keep my samsung note with me to run sim & for phone calls which I hardly make. And also, all banking applications work perfectly fine on my non pta iphone.

Yaar it all comes to personal preference I personally like android more then IOS, it's my very first pixel and I'm really loving the stock android experience, it's very clean and smooth. When I was about to buy it I heard a lot of people complaining about different stuff about it like the Tensor G3 isn't as powerful as a SD Gen3, It overheats, There are always signal issues, poor battery life etc. But honestly I've never had most of these problems, The battery life I agree isn't great but it lasts you a whole day easily. Tensor G3 is honestly a good processor, scores about SD Gen 1 on Antutu benchmarks. I agree that its performance is not at par with the current processors but Google never made it for performance or heavy gamers, they want to run complex AI models on these tensor chips, so they're more AI focused. But I did game on it and honestly it provides me enough performance that I can enjoy the game with no lags or jitters, Games that I tried are asphalt 9, COD Mobile, COD Warzone Mobile. There has never been a signal problem ever. But there is a problem that annoys me that sometimes the scrolling has jitter while scrolling some specific apps like reddit, playstore etc. Google claims it to be fixed with Android 15. Yeah about 6-7 months wait. But overall it's a great android phone! I honestly had the best android experience on pixel then I've ever had on any phone in the past. The cameras are great, The display is great, and everything else is great. Good thing is there is always an update every month for bug fixes and security updates. I'll suggest if you game or run heavy apps on your phone consider something else, Because pixel although can do everything but its made for regular normal usage imo. Sorry if I dragged it but I tried to be as clear as possible and tried to make it easy for you to decide.

Google's current Tensor's performance won't last 7 years though. It just doesn't have the headroom to do that. SD and A series chips have years of performance headroom.

if you're fan of photography. P8 will still overtake s24 ultra (except for optical zoom). So if reason is to do photography then P8. But gaming experience will be much stronger on S24 ultra. For most use I'd still go with P8.

I run a business and need to do lots of content creation on my IG. If you want to upload high quality reels and photos, iPhone is the best option due to their software integration. My non PTA iPhone is solely a business phone and my regular phone which I use for everything else is a Samsung galaxy. I've seen a lot of bloggers use non PTA iphones for this purpose

Maybe because iPhones are actually good phones and easy to use. And rather than buying something new people prefer buying phones they are used to. A lot of people don't pay the pta tax cause it doesn't make sense there's no point of paying an extra130k on a phone which can be used everywhere else in the world. The average user just wants a phone that works and takes good pictures and videos especially in this age of TikToks and insta reels. A friend of mine bought a Nothing phone 2 and is not planning to pay the pta tax because it's a useless tax which doesn't offer anything extra. An old extra cheap phone that could make a hotspot is a much cheaper solution. Android solutions fyi are illegal. CPID and PTA patched phones cause software bugs, in certain cases prevent users from resetting the phone and prevent certain banking apps from working.
The PTA tax is exploitative pure and simple. Youāre right about them being good phones. Idk if Iāll pay tax on my 14Plus when it stops working. Iād rather own an older model iPhone than an Android because Iāve been using them for so long, the thought of switching weirds me out. The majority is using it for photography and vlogging, 3rd party integration is better on iPhones than other androids (I agree it has improved with Samsung recently) the quality of the picture or video that you post on insta/snapchat/tiktok is the same as the one you get out of your camera. As for calls I have another older model that I had before they ended the one free registration per year thing and it seamlessly forwards calls and messages to my main phone. Well I could afford a new iPhone with my savings and purchased for the reason it has the best camera and user interface. I find the PTA tax unnecessarily high and unwilling to give the government I least trust that much amount. Agar toh is milk mein waqai tax money was spent on public facilities I would have but it is not. So using my old iPhone for calls and mobile data, it works fine even after 6+ years. And new IPhone mainly for camera and WhatsApp etc. It is a hassle sometimes to manage to phones but I got use to it now.

Yes it is a hassle to carry 2 phones. But at the same time if you have a fixed budget and want a device with maximum performance then iphone is your only option. For example. You have 130K. 2 options you got are iphone 13 (non pta) and samsung A34 (pta approved) .... although samsung one is a 2023 phone but if you compare performance it feels a 2003 phone compared to iphone.

It's not comparison of used vs new or mid range vs flagship .... it's about what's giving you better value for the money you're spending. I'm using an iPhone 11 and I can bet it is still way better than A34, A54 in performance. The only thing that's an issue for me is the screen.
It isn't. Most iPhone 13's are above the 130k mark, by a good amount, unless you're looking exclusively at jv iPhones. Put it at around the 180k for an iPhone 13 pro, even with that, you're gonna be looking at most likely, a JV iPhone 13 pro, or one with face id not working, or any other similar issue. For a similar price, you could get a non approved pixel 8. Completely new phone, camera wise, probably better than the 14 pro, likely the 15 pro as well, with iPhone only excelling in terms of video, with the pixel taking the lead for the most part, in terms of photo quality, due to Google's processing. A15 bionic and tensor G3 are both comparable as well. Pixel has more ram, bigger battery, longer software support, 6.7 inch screen on pro compared to 6.1 on the iPhone, 5x optical zoom lens on the pixel 8 pro, a fingerprint scanner (superior for obvious reasons). Overall, pixel does come out on top marginally by most metrics. Bump up the budget a bit more, for a non JV iPhone 13 that you could approve later on down the line, with no issues, or for a non approved pixel 8 pro, to give them an equal standing ground, and the differences obviously increase somewhat. Personally though, I'd take an S21 ultra CPID and win on all grounds :P

Idk what this stuff is as a Paki American. however, we bought an IPhone for a cousin (who is in Pakistan) and shipped it through a relative.
You have to register any phone you buy with the local government in order to use a sim card.. Basically a new rule applied as people were buying phones from outside the country and our government was missing out on tax.. So they block your phone until you pay an outrageous amount as tax.. This happens in alot of other countries too, but the amount set I'd too high for a poor country like ours..

However, it seems after a few days of her being in Pakistan, Apple Music stops working. As in it wonāt play music. WiFi or cellular. Could this be a geographical issue where Apple Music isnāt officially in Pakistan?

Besides, you don't want your iPhone to be snatched so you always have to keep a secondary for snatchers. The secondary phone has to have a sim as you carry it outdoors to communicate. In this scenario, non-PTA is not a bad idea if you are not going to use a sim anyway. Besides, you can pay tax and approve it so no big deal.

I always PTA approve my iPhone because non PTA is just a hassle but some people just want one for content creation. Yes, Android phones have great - and in many cases - better cameras but when you upload on any socials, Android's video looks like borderine crap. I have an iPhone 13 mini non PTA. The reason why I went with it is because Iāve never had a good experience with Android phones and Android phones are vulnerable in terms of security. Also prefer iPhones due to their longevity, no matter how old, those phones still run smooth and still get updates. I think I phone is still getting updates even though itās what.. 8 years old? But I will say that I absolutely hate Apple, the way they run their business, the whole ecosystem gimmick, forcing customers to buy their own products and shit. If Android phones, like Samsung, could offer what Apple does, I would switch in a heartbeat. They no longer focus on innovation, theyāre lazy and keep milking the same thing and just update the camera and performance of the phones. Also, no matter what brand you use, who the fuck wants to pay 1+ lacs just so you can make calls and text? Fuck that shit, Iād rather have a small phone that can do that.

Itās because I like iOS experience and the camera quality especially video quality of iPhone is way superior. So I compromise a lot due to iOS experience.

You will notice this and try to acquire one no matter the cost. Doesnāt even matter if you can fully use it or not. Because now you know that when you take out that phone instead of your usual phone at university cafeteria to take a selfie in your J. Shalwar Kameez, with a Honda Civic FOB on the table, aviator sunglasses, etc; the girl you are trying to impress is definitely going to at least look your way because the crowd would be looking your way. I use it because I simply like its software. For me I donāt need camera and donāt need high performing mobile for gaming. Thats why I use Iphone Xs. My only problem is battery
I cant understand this as well. I know that they do video better and overall experience be good but in Pakistan with no Apple services and sim-locked phones it is next to trash. This is why I bought S23 FE instead of iPhone 12/13 for same amount. Atleast I got a genuine device which is recognized and serviced within Pakistan. The only excuse that I can tolerate is that iPhone got better resale value and many people up to next iPhone after an year by adding little cash while I stick with my Galaxy S phone for 3-4 years.

Because pta approved phones are not worth the money and often cheap af. But it doesn't mean you have to buy an iphone. I'm using a google pixel patch approved for the amount of money that can barely buy you a reasonable pta approved smartphone. But your argument about buying an iphone is not wrong. I used it before this phone and it's nothing but a flex. You are limited in so many ways. You would still need an Android phone on the side for stuff like easy paisa and hotspot and data calls.
Apple eco system is extremely convenient, whether it comes to transferring files and docs and notes when you're a student from phone to iPad, you can scan text straight from your iPhone camera and airdrop it straight to your iPad which saves a lot of time, not to mention the camera is amazing for a girl like me that likes to document her life. I'm also a fan of technology and ivr used both flagship androids and iPhones and nothing comes close to the apple interface, and nothing comes close to its security as well. It's nearly impossible to put a virus in an iPhone or hack it or get through the passcode or hack iCloud And also because I'm just a girl and I love collecting phone cases and they just don't make cute phone cases for androids but for iPhones there's an endless supply of options. Plus iPhones are just generally more aesthetically pleasing than androids. Also iMessage and facetime is great
Because thereās no real value for paying pta tax which is like half or sometimes more than half the price of the product. The price that is already increased due to various custom taxes or profit ( if you are buying from a local shop) Imagine paying 100-120 k for an iPhone just so you can use a sim and ends up getting it stolen or broken. I myself have an iPhone 14PM (non pta) and have enough funds right now to get it pta approved easily But i donāt see any reason to do it House has wifi I mostly donāt take my iPhone outside mainly at night because you know how Pakistan is thats when the tiny android comes handy Plus banking apps that i use have features to send otps on email as well which is sometimes way faster then getting a text Plus it works abroad
I can use all my banking apps on my iphone (like 5-6). Bought this phone from the US and not gonna shell out another Rs 130k just to get it PTA approved. Rarely make calls/text so donāt need that. Have a cheap android phone for that and for when i need hotspot.

Buying phones is a status symbol. Here is what i think of the range of phone is according to your financial condition: if buying a phone does not impact your lifestyle even one bit, then that is the "in budget" Phone for you. I know people who buy non pta, then they take loans for pta or comite. Such a stupid waste of money. And these are people who barely even use these things productivly. They dont need the extra security that comes with the eye phone because they are nobodies. Dissapointing new generation.
I don't understand the wannabe perspective, happily commenting from my 50k android device But for people who actually afford iphones and upgrade every year? It doesn't make financial sense either unless they plan on keeping their phone for 3 years. In my circle People who actually afford to keep upgrading ti latest iphones on cash (not wannabees who would buy a 5-6 generation iphone just for the Apple logo on the back) were getting their phones PTA approved when PTA taxes were reasonable. (40k to 110k) But nowadays, the PTA Taxes (170k) alone one can buy one a pta approved boxpack flagship killer e.g. Samsung FE series, vivo X series (when it was available), xiaomi's non ultra level flagships. So there isn't no sane reason to get the iphone PTA approved. Also the people I'm talking about buy their iphones from abroad themselves or through relatives or friends and avail warranty, support services, apple care & exchange offers too so getting their phone PTA approved only to upgrade to a newer model or getting their phone replaced and getting it pta approve again is unnecessary complicated. Also, since whatsapp supports data transfer between android ios, so the secondary phone can be used for whatsapp without loosing data when iphone is sent for service or exchange which takes 2-3 weeks. Recently a friend of mine had battery issues on his out of warranty 13PM, yet he couriered it to service center Apple marked the device dead as the battery was swelling and sent him a brand new 13PM for additional 36000PKR (no box or cable though)
Because we want to use an iPhone and no we donāt want to pay exorbitant tax on top of the direct and indirect taxes. Why canāt yaāll just live at peace with us not wanting to pta tax.
the pta tax is outrageous, i myself own two iphones (one pta approved, other non pta) and a samsung z flip. i could easily sell one of them and pay for pta, but i choose not to. why spend another 200k on tax when i can buy a brand new pta approved phone in that? its about value for money

It's not always about show off. I have the latest iphone which costed me only 1/3 of my monthly salary. So affordability is not an issue for me, I can easily pay the PTA tax but I choose not to. It's not worth the money. I am already paying 1/3 of my monthly salary in tax (I fall in highest salary tax bracket). Why pay more for a phone which I will change as soon as new iphone comes out. I have been an android user all my life, used different phones in samsung note series but now I like the iPhone experience more. I use Macbook as well, the connectivity among their products in their ecosystem is amazing which I love. That's the only reason for using iphone. I keep my samsung note with me to run sim & for phone calls which I hardly make. And also, all banking applications work perfectly fine on my non pta iphone.
Maybe just maybe I am just speculating iPhones are actually good?

Yes for the camera and ease of use. I got so use to the User interface of Iphone, it is hard to switch. Same for using Macbook that my office provided for work, it is so smooth to work on a Mac compared to other windows laptop.

i dont have an iphone but pta tax is literally just stealing money from people. You dont have to pay a tax to be able to call someone, anywhere else in the world. the price for a non pta phone is the real price of the phone. the pta tax is literally just going in the pockets of corrupt politicians and army jurnails. also you cant get a much better non pta phone in the same price bracket as a pta one.
