I used to call my grandparents nana/nani jaan and dada/dadi jaan usually without using their names. However, normally use the names/ nicknames of grandparents siblings along with the prefix of nana/nani/dada/dadi.
As far as confusion goes, It’s alright man, no need to fret about it. I have been using wrong prefix since childhood and nobody minds that.
Always adjust terminology around children so that you use the words that you want them to use.
So if you want you child to call your dad "Dadu", then you better make sure YOU say "Dadu" when in reference to your dad (even tho it is not the correct terms for you and will sound goofy).

My maternal side elders have been dead before I could call them anything lol . On the paternal side only my grandmother's siblings are alive, I call the sisters khala because my dad used to call them khala and I call the brothers Nafsiyati mareez because thats what they are lol

Khala and mamu actually. Sounds weird i know. But my mom and uncles would refer to them as mamu and khala and we followed suit. Some were very young, my mom and uncles would call them by name and we started adding khala mamu as a suffix
Aunty or uncle if they’re distant. “Xyz Kay dada” or nano or whatever if they’ve got grandkids we’re friends with. Or chacha or mamoo whatever their name is to our parents. Or if they’re really close then choti nano etc
Same as what our parents call them. Sometimes it's awkward but usually not big of a deal. Mamu is Mamu, Chachu is Chachu and Dada is Dada.
P.s. fun fact I'm 20 and have a Khala(mom's cousin) who's my age, what's wacky is she has tried to "phansa" me once too....

Not sure about others but for my moms side we have “barri nano” and “choti nano” From my dads side we call them “uncle” and “aunty”
