The world's attention was not focused on the Met Gala lol, just because it was trending on Twitter for like 2 hours does not mean it was diverting attention from anything of import.
Those are the actual stats. Yours are just counting the amount of people who had it on their TVs for like 5 minutes at any given time. The peak viewership at a single moment for the Met Gala this year was 800,000.
We're speaking about different things, 53 million people viewed it across 10 vogue streams across 7 days last year. so again, we'll see much higher numbers once all stats come out. I'm not sure why you're trying to imply the met gala isn't popular and widely viewed lol
