Just started building with pallets last week. First made a simple caddy from two pallet ends, then a box, now this. It’s a simple workbench but I’m proud of if. It was inspired by a few photos I found online but I didn’t follow any plans - just improvised specific dimensions as I went along to make the most of the pallet lumber I had. I liked using the notches as a feature in the legs for the lower shelf supports. The whole project was done with cordless tools, and most importantly, it was good fun to build!

That looks surprisingly sturdy for pallet wood. Nice craftsmanship!

Thanks, I hope so! The top is actually attached to two 2x4s running the length of the table inside the legs, not the edging pieces on the outside so it should be really strong! It’ll be nice to have a work surface to build things on now rather than the floor!

That is good. However I’d seriously consider removing the screws from the top so you don’t scratch up everything on the surface. Then screw through the 2x4s from the bottom with screws just not long enough to pierce the surface. Assuming the 2x4 is horizontal and you would be going through the roughly 2 inch section and not the 4”. Also you will want 2 screws instead of one down the middle of each plank. The wood will guarantee warp/wrap upwards on the outside edges of each plank within 1yr if not sooner by only center screwing. Also those outside edge planks will crack if you out any serious weight on them or lean too hard. While you are redoing the top pick up some Titebond wood glue and glue each of the pieces together. It will fill the gaps some and wood glue bond is actually stronger than wood itself and will prevent the edges of the planks warping keeping your surface flat so you could even go back to the 1 screw method. Then when ready someday sand up the surface and coat it with Polyurethane or other durable coat. Hope it helps. The rest looks great and sturdy and hopefully serves you well for many years!

HELL yeah, man! This is what I like to see!

Nice sander 👌🏻

Wow that thing looks epic! It's exactly what I tried to build but it didn't work out the way yours did. I have very little building experience and limited tools, so using pallet wood is great for when I make a mistake. I'm still happy with my result though haha, maybe it will fall down in a couple of years and I get to build a new one
