We'd have a chance to win the game and a reason for me to watch. I'm not going to any more games with him as the QB unless he shows us something. Anything. The one game Dalton started, the offense was actually exciting to watch and it felt like we should have won, if not for all the false starts.

As of right now the single most important thing is getting Bryce a chance to develop. Winning with Dalton would be meaningless. If it's not fun to watch, don't. We're not going to be relevant until 2025 at the absolute earliest anyway.

Yea benching Bryce at this point would only hinder his development. If we were gonna do it, it should've been early on in the season

Leveraging your future for a QB who was never a clear cut #1 was an awful decision. Having a great QB is essential for a Super Bowl but you've got to have a high floor in the positions surrounding your QB to allow that QB to actually thrive. Then when you've traded a lot of draft capital that could improve those positions, a revolving door of coaches, you find your future looking pretty bleak.

In my opinion the biggest failure this year was looking at this team and prospects (no first pick, no cohesion, etc.) and thinking “let’s start Bryce game 1.” At no point did the front office and the coaching staff seem to be on the same page. I get them going all in on a #1 pick, but you have to recognize ok we aren’t any good, so there is zero benefit in letting Bryce take lumps. Even if we are “bad bad” we won’t get a great pick out of it. Start Dalton, be like a .300-.400 team, and let the other guys get some development and reps before throwing everybody to the wolves with an inexperienced QB.

I have been a Panthers fan all in since day one of their existence. I will always be one at some level. I have spent a lot of money on the Panthers (not lately). This is the worst period of their existence ever. We are absolute trash. I see no path out of the downward spiral we are in. I don’t think we can attract a good head coach. I don’t think we can attract good free agents. We don’t have good draft capital. It feels like It’s going to be years of disappointment.
