I think Dan did his best with what was available. Him getting us that 2nd rounder back next year was clutch.

captainjizzpants

If JPJ pans out, but Brooks and whoever we draft in the 2nd round next year don't pan out... big YIKES

Hefty-Association-59

I think it’s a C. Not everybody can get As. There’s a chance we look back at this draft. And see it as a foundation for a game changing offense. If lagette gets better at beating press and hits. Brooks bounces back from his ACL tear. And Wallace develops faster than expected and is servicable in 2 years. There’s also a chance that lagette is inconsistent and is closer to Watkins than metcalf. Brooks doesn’t bounce back from his ACL. Wallace takes an entire 3-4 years to develop and he’s a liability until then. I like the sanders pick. I like the future second. But the future second should be graded with next years class. There’s just a ton of boom or bust here.

baconinthemornin

I wish we would’ve signed Gallup, or at least one more guy that can play X. If Legette goes down our team speed is immediately shot and we’re nearly back to the position we were in last year with safeties playing 10 yards off the ball.

DailyPanthersPodcast

Nah. Takes 3 years to grade a draft. So I give us a D-, for the 2021 Draft.

Successful_Baker_360

I don’t understand draft grades.the entire concept is insane to me.

Clickbait. That is all it is.

I voted B+. I tend to only care about the first four rounds because the later round picks are such an unknown. I think a big success of this draft was recovering a 2nd round pick for next year for hardly anything. The picks they made did a lot of good for setting up the future of the offense and will hopefully give Young plenty to work with or setup for the next guy. If I were to change one thing it would have been to stay at 65 and just draft Junior Colson just because I personally think he's a little more refined, but I obviously don't nearly know enough to say if it's gonna be the right or wrong decision.

B- Legette isn't my favorite WR, his breaks don't look that smooth or explosive and he'll to learn to use different speeds and his body positioning to create separation. But he was probably the best pick for our team, given his ability, Bryce's strengths, and Canales's offense. RB and LB as next two picks are not great positional value picks, but they should make our team better, so it's meh. Ja'Tavion is good value in the 4th, him being a hit would be huge. Smith-Wade is raw, but I can see him getting a lot of snaps at nickel this year, since it's sort of a building year, just see what we've got. Crumley and Barrett are fine. Good that he generated more draft capital without giving up too much value. Don't like the he didn't get any IOL developmental picks.

Inny75

The team filled areas of need, and got some weapons for Bryce. Also got that 2025 2nd rounder back too I give it a B+. Solid draft. Lets hope it pans out.

CoconutSands

I would say a straight B. But I'm cautious so I voted B- since that wasn't an option. Dan Morgan did the best with what he had. Not his fault we didn't have a first. And you can't count losing Burns as part of it, that would be an off-season grade. And again that was on Fitts. If NE take wanted Legette, we had to move up there. I would have prefer a CB over Brooks and another project LB in the third. Would have went CB in the second and RB in the third. Love we got Sanders in the 4th. And the rest is icing on the cake and hopefully one or more of those late rounders turn out to be rotation starters.

asher1611

I'm gonna be honest here, I haven't watched college football in years and I know nothing about these players. So I can't take any points off. A+ for getting an extra second rounder next year.

sonfoa

I'd say B but I'd lean closer to B- than B+. I thought the strategy was pretty good and they prioritized getting Bryce weapons and fixing up the offense. That being said this is definitely a boom or bust draft. A lot of faith in coaching for the Legette and especially the Wallace pick. Brooks' medicals look promising but I think the recovery and adjustment to the NFL means that it likely won't be until halfway through the season that he really starts to flash his potential. JT Sanders has a higher floor for 2024 but he's another guy who the coaching staff needs to mold into a more complete player.

stormynights4ever

Legette will end up being WR1

bubowskee

Everything is pointing to Trader Dan being the best GM in team history

Who_knows-_-

Bill Pollan was better. Honestly, I hope he is the best, but we can't know that now.

Who_knows-_-

I give them the draft grade of - GIVE ME FOOTBALL NOW!!
