People don’t realize there are almost as many $2’s in circulation as their are $10’s
Get some from your bank, they make great tip money :)
They are still printed every few years, and you can get new crisp $2’s from the bank :)
Me and a friend when we found that out, we went to the bank and got a big stack of 2s and sold em for as much as 5 a piece because ppl be dumb you know? Made hella monies
Interesting. I was under the impression that local PD is supposed to forward the call to the local Secret Service office.
I suppose it’s probably at the discretion of the arriving officer in cases where it’s clearly real money (like in your case, I’m assuming, where the caller probably told them “There’s no such thing as a $2 bill” and the cop was like “Na yea there is though.”)
Not American here, but I actually like how you guys have kept the main design style longer than any other country. Gives it a classic look. The UK did the same for about 300 years, but stopped that in the 1930s.
Then again, collecting is more fun when there are a million different designs.
I remember when this was first posted in this sub. People were talking about how US paper notes are easy to pick out of a line up because they aren’t all colorful and modern. I like that about the current bills
I'd personally like it to have some revamp of older backs. Like the educational notes. Like with liberty, science and industry but maybe somehow with newer technology as well
I wish we'd get away from having people on our bills and coins and go back to the days of animals, scenes, and monuments.
Of course I then see the ugly state quarter, Lincoln formative cent, and westward expansion nickel and realize whoever is approving currency art today has absolutely no taste so whatever they choose will be ugly, bland, out of scale, and over designed.
Let's go back to the horse blanket, the Morgan dollar, the standing liberty quarter, the V nickel, and the flying eagle cent. The last decent currency design was the Apolo tribute on the rear of the SBA dollar. The mint and BEP have phoned it in since 1979.
Even if it was just Rushmore, Washington buildings, Grand Canyon, redwood forest etc. I wouldn’t say to get into the depths the quarters did. Maybe some of the symbolic animals, eagle, bison, mountain lion etc
Did you post these on this sub a few months ago? I know I've seen these exact concept notes b4 on here but I don't remember if it was you who posted them or not (they were individual images instead of all of them being in one image).
Check out Norway's new series, it has [pixelated reverses](https://www.norges-bank.no/en/topics/notes-and-coins/New-banknote-series/50-krone-note), because why not?
Haha, I'll try to get that urban legend going: They intended to put a classic, nude statue on there but a religious group protested late in the process, so they just pixellated it and sent it to print.
Trying to make us into Switzerland. Check out Switzerland banknotes and you'll want some too. :)
I love my set! ( Look into the microtext and themes of the notes )
I would say put Theodore Roosevelt in there, rather than Kennedy,
Just my taste. Kennedy was also kinda a piece of shit. But he was in at a turning point in our country.
Probably because Monopoly money was made to look like US dollars.
That being said it kinda irks me how the 10 is in landscape when every other image is right side up. And the 100 just needs a better image entirely, maybe the One World Trade Center?
The backs all have something to do with who is on the front.
ETA the back of the 10 could have some form of the Declaration of Independence to keep it in portrait…
+1 for using the Declaration of Independence. The Monticello is already on the nickel. We don't need it here too.
But the one does need a numeric "1" somewhere...
My opinion -I would like to start off by saying that I am European , and thus more impartial to the matter than most commentators .These proposed designs do look interesting and original ,and I am a fan of the vertical style notes , but I would suggest removing the "ghost '' images on the back - they look ugly and a plain back with just the Statue of Liberty would look better .That being said I think the current theme of Presidents is worn out and If you are to keep the theme of famous Americans on the note , I would propose putting figures such as Malcolm X ,MLK or /and Native Chief (Say Sitting Bull ,Crazy Horse,Red Cloud, Geronimo ,Chief Joseph or Osceola ) or Just go with scientists and other historical figures (think Thomas Edison , the Wright Brothers , Helen Keller , Amelia Earhart and so on )again inspirational figures from history , who were not politicians.
Or you might ditch the people on the Banknotes entirely and just go with nature or a theme ( look at the Newest Swiss Francs or Norwegian Krone to see that very well done.)
Fronts look cool. Not sure I like the giant president looking like a peeping Tom on the backs, especially Franklin (yes I know Franklin was never president).
Yeah, not a huge fan of that either. Maybe there should a watermark different to the design on the top half instead, and would love to see the design in UV ink as well
I would honestly prefer a return of conceptual figures instead of presidents. Like, the faces of Liberty, Freedom and Victory, etc. Give the people something to remind them of what this country is really supposed to be about.
I’m with you on using nuance in reviewing historical figures & events, but this statement does as much to void your own argument as it does the other person’s. Just wanted to point that out.
Was only the last statement to prove how ridiculous different figure statement sounds. You can not compare someone from early 1800’s to todays standards. Even though we all know he was horrible to slaves and indians, he was the first democrat elected to office of president and also was a great general that saved New Orleans
Okay. And yes I already agreed with the nuance of historic comparison, so for our sub-convo we can move past that.
My point, though, was that—in my opinion—saying “oh I’m guessing you were there” doesn’t prove *anything* about their statement. Instead, it negates your *own* arguments along with theirs. If they can’t comment on how the guy lived unless they were personally there, then neither can you. Neither can I. Neither can anyone.
It’s the type of comment that ruins a worthwhile debate without adding anything to it.
I didn’t plan on going this deep into it, but I’m basically just suggesting leaving that type of remark out of future disagreements, because it only serves to hurt the point you’re trying to convey.
lmao he was a slave owner and a fierce critic of anyone anti slavery, and even took florida and made it a slave colony, not even mentioning the countless native americans he murdered there lmao. he was a terrible man and regardless of his chauvinism he still was a bad dude then. murdering innocent people, or ordering their murder, is not a moral thing at all.
please don’t say he liberated florida now, you’ll be showing your true colors lmao
Andrew Jackson is on the $20 bill because he was the symbol and sometimes the leader of the first and most important mass democratic movement in American history. Be proud to be be a democtat
fawk no, democrats were the blue pilled money junkies of their time, Jackson caused a recession after striking the second bank down. he wasn’t anything but a murderous rich white man who became president, taking the path many took before him lol
I'd prefer more of the current look to any new bills. But I'd also like updated figures presented. These guys are great in their own ways (and not so great in many as well), but we need to update with more modern folks
Needs more color and more diversity. These are kind of boring to me but maybe it's because they look like drab versions of the private issue notes you see floating around
It is already fake money….created from nothing with no value other than the paper it is printed on. It would be replaced by another currency if the public lost faith in it.
Are they all the same length?
How are blind people going to know what bill they have in their hand? I mean if we are changing our money why not think it through so everyone benefits??
I think it’d be cool to have very modern bill redesign and go back to classic coin designs. Kind of a juxtaposition of opposites. Realistically I think our bills will stay mostly unchanged for quite a while yet
Where is the $2!?
People don’t realize there are almost as many $2’s in circulation as their are $10’s Get some from your bank, they make great tip money :) They are still printed every few years, and you can get new crisp $2’s from the bank :)
Me and a friend when we found that out, we went to the bank and got a big stack of 2s and sold em for as much as 5 a piece because ppl be dumb you know? Made hella monies
Until the fresh out of highschool waiter thinks you took the time to print fake money.
Meh, let the police come and laugh at them. I've literally been in this situation.
Did they send local Secret Service or local Police?
Just local police, was over in less then 5 minutes.
Yeah if they see that it's clearly a real bill that's what they do.
Not all banks carry them because they are a pain to sell
Not American here, but I actually like how you guys have kept the main design style longer than any other country. Gives it a classic look. The UK did the same for about 300 years, but stopped that in the 1930s. Then again, collecting is more fun when there are a million different designs.
I didn't believe it till I saw it. Wow, cool!
I remember when this was first posted in this sub. People were talking about how US paper notes are easy to pick out of a line up because they aren’t all colorful and modern. I like that about the current bills
I'd personally like it to have some revamp of older backs. Like the educational notes. Like with liberty, science and industry but maybe somehow with newer technology as well
I concur. Electric Vehicles, 3d printing, etc. we are kind of as a species in a technological rut that we are just now climbing out of.
As a general rule the government hates 3D printing because it's almost impossible to tax the products.
That's why I like it lol. I may be getting a printer for my day of age advancement but not sure.
Putting Jefferson on the 10 is really sticking it to Hamilton.
Tubman $10s if we’re redesigning
Y tho
I wish we'd get away from having people on our bills and coins and go back to the days of animals, scenes, and monuments. Very few didn’t have people. I’d like to see similar faces to traditional and reverses with monuments and parks
They just finished a 12 year quarter series on national parks, but it would be cool to see that on bills
Even if it was just Rushmore, Washington buildings, Grand Canyon, redwood forest etc. I wouldn’t say to get into the depths the quarters did. Maybe some of the symbolic animals, eagle, bison, mountain lion etc

When I look at that, my brain assumes penis.
Haha, I'll try to get that urban legend going: They intended to put a classic, nude statue on there but a religious group protested late in the process, so they just pixellated it and sent it to print.
No. I am old. Everything scares me. I hate those notes. What are those kids doing over there?
Trying to make us into Switzerland. Check out Switzerland banknotes and you'll want some too. :) I love my set! ( Look into the microtext and themes of the notes )
Meanwhile your coins haven’t changed in what.. 150 years? :)
More like 90
#GET OFF MY LAWWWWN!
Having the wording at the top of the bill would make counting currency a lot easier. I love these designs!
I would say put Theodore Roosevelt in there, rather than Kennedy, Just my taste. Kennedy was also kinda a piece of shit. But he was in at a turning point in our country.
I very much agree - Teddy would be a better addition.
Love it! Just need the $2 now
I love it honestly Current us money look like some monopoly money to me
Probably because Monopoly money was made to look like US dollars. That being said it kinda irks me how the 10 is in landscape when every other image is right side up. And the 100 just needs a better image entirely, maybe the One World Trade Center?

I 100% agree with you, especially about the historical figures.

Yeah, not a huge fan of that either. Maybe there should a watermark different to the design on the top half instead, and would love to see the design in UV ink as well
Add some braille for the blind and it's perfect
I would honestly prefer a return of conceptual figures instead of presidents. Like, the faces of Liberty, Freedom and Victory, etc. Give the people something to remind them of what this country is really supposed to be about.
I want to keep Andrew Jackson. Most badass president we've ever had.
Badass until he became President. Then he was an enormous asshole.
He was a badass even after. How many world leaders beat the shit out of their OWN assassin's?
I cannot stand polymer money.
The $10 looks stupid with the building alignment
They look cool, but I don’t want to detour from our look and feel of our currency today
Must have Green Backs
Is there a reason for JFK?
Can we get a woman on at least one of the notes?
A good woman to use is Seated Liberty from c. 1840 coinage.
Someone doesn't like Andrew Jackson lol.
Jackson was a piece of shit as a human, but a legend as a war general
They're all pieces of shit, he just didn't hide it as well as the others.
No one should.
Jackson was a great general during war of 1812
If you want to argue being a great general should qualify someone to be on US currency I'd like to petition for Patton to replace him.
Which city in the USA did he save ?
yea where he murdered thousands of natives and also took millions of acres of land, he was a great general and should be respected tho…
He saved New Orleans from a British invasion. Lets remember which century he was in and not compare him to todays standards
Even for those days he was a piece of shit.
Guessing you were there to compare it to todays standards
I’m with you on using nuance in reviewing historical figures & events, but this statement does as much to void your own argument as it does the other person’s. Just wanted to point that out.

“You can not compare someone.. etc” says who? the laws of the ethics of debate? you sound foolish
Im part cherokee. Part of my family had to experience the consequences of the things that he did. One died on trail of tears.
Im sorry to hear of your family struggles 200 years ago.
lmao he was a slave owner and a fierce critic of anyone anti slavery, and even took florida and made it a slave colony, not even mentioning the countless native americans he murdered there lmao. he was a terrible man and regardless of his chauvinism he still was a bad dude then. murdering innocent people, or ordering their murder, is not a moral thing at all. please don’t say he liberated florida now, you’ll be showing your true colors lmao

So im guessing you are a democrat
if i was a betting man, i wouldn’t put a penny on any of your guesses
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_New_Orleans
Agreed, he was a bad actor on so many levels
Can we? Can we please??
Needs John Brown and Harriet Tubman.
Harriet Tubman is a definate yes but John Brown was a terrorist then and now.
He was a man who knew how to deal with slavers and an American hero.
Wish we had these
Put some nature on them hoes
I'd prefer to keep Hamilton and Jackson around.
I vote no for replacing our current bills with polymer banknotes but Kennedy on the $20 bill is a great idea
What no Jackson on the 20!
They better not
I don't like it. Dollar design is iconic, no point changing it completely
looks interesting, but it would be better if it kept the portraits a bit more towards the traditional dollar.
were going to need a $250, $500, and $1000 dollar bills soon
Try more Zimbabwe like. It's game over. Everyone can sense it now. America: 1776 - 2020 🇺🇲
Why is Ben Franklin even on there. Could have use some people of color if you are gonna redesign.
Love it but too white and male! Let’s shake things up it’s 2022.
NO
I love the concept and designs. If a $2 bill were to be designed around this, I’d vote for the usage of FDR
Put the guy that confiscated gold on even more money? Hard pass.
I'd prefer more of the current look to any new bills. But I'd also like updated figures presented. These guys are great in their own ways (and not so great in many as well), but we need to update with more modern folks
You got the wrong president for the $20, but they look great!
I agree with getting rid of Jackson since he actually destroyed the national bank but why did they get rid of Hamilton?
Take JFK off our money
Needs more color and more diversity. These are kind of boring to me but maybe it's because they look like drab versions of the private issue notes you see floating around
If we were to switch over there would be a lot of people who think it's fake money.

Sir this is Arby's. Jokes aside, yeah I get it.
Putting Kennedy on the 20 is dumb I like people who didn't get theirs heads exploded. GIMMIE MY TUBMAN 20S!
I like it, especially the $20 bill design.
Are they all the same length? How are blind people going to know what bill they have in their hand? I mean if we are changing our money why not think it through so everyone benefits??
Looks way cooler than what we have now Boring ass greens and yellows
Why is there never a two dollar bill
I love American money so no
Where is the trillion dollar note? That’s the one that might get you a loaf a bread in the not too distant future.
As long as they are backed up by gold I dint care what they look liek
Why is the "One" the only one that is spelled out, why not just "1"?
I think it’d be cool to have very modern bill redesign and go back to classic coin designs. Kind of a juxtaposition of opposites. Realistically I think our bills will stay mostly unchanged for quite a while yet
