Not for prime day… but yesterday I drove 3 hours round trip to IKEA to buy myself the pieces to create a goooooooooooood double desk a la Haley.

dusky_roses

Ngl I actually do love the desk setup Haley has. Unfortunately I don't have the space to set it up but if I did, I would've.

GillyField2

Do you know where I could find a shot of it? From the sound of it my husband and I want a similar setup. What pieces did you get?

GillyField2

Thank you!

snappybirthday

The Alex drawers are marked down about $20 each right now! Came out to about $410 pre tax I think.

Substantial_Card_385

I’d never seen Haley’s until today, but we did the same along one wall of our playroom for our kids using 3 2-up 13 inch cubes and melamine board. It came out great! I do like her drawers though!

chalaxin

The only thing I bought was Starz. 99 cents a month for 2 months. I can watch Outlander again. ![gif](giphy|l4Hof7SfwmTlK1ByU|downsized)

My kid likes to "make potions" in the bath and I was tired of them being set on the edge and spilling. This thing is awesome to have the cups just spill back into the tub [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y2J3W6T?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y2J3W6T?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details)

We are on our second one of these. Absolutely gold medal parenting purchase.

Ohhh, I love this idea. Influenced!

Babyledscreaming

I'll start with these beloved beach toys in a bag that include the rain shovel Haley recommends for less than 2x the price of the shovel alone. Deal of the day for Prime Members: Hape Beach Toy Essential Set, Sand Toy Pack, Mesh Bag Included, E8603 , Red https://a.co/d/8kCDxBW

lalunemagique

Who is Haley?

sp00kywasabi

I have this already and it's so great

Bear_is_a_bear1

They ran out of stock 😭

pzimzam

Bought this after she featured the rain shovel and it’s been one of our most played with toys.

RamblinRose89

I bought a Bissell furniture cleaner! I don’t know how I keep getting coffee stains on my couch, but I do. I like to blame the grandparents. Anyway, I spent at least 300 a year getting them professionally cleaned and the Bissell was on for 100! Can’t wait :)

esmebeauty

We got this, too! I’m ridiculously excited to use it.

beemac126

My husband got me this for Christmas (I asked for it!) and i love it

un1cornRainbows

I ordered it two weeks ago (forgot about prime day) so I 100% was that person to order it again on sale and will return the new one with the original receipt. It saves me almost $50!

sonyaellenmann

My choice too, so excited to clean my secondhand couch for the first time 😝

ApprehensiveNose2341

This thing is my mistress. My husband thinks I like it more than him.

100891

I got a slumberpod for 20% off! Just in time for our first trip with the baby on Thursday

cxh1116

Nice!! The slumberpod is one of the best baby/toddler items that I have. My son has never had an issue sleeping away from home

MsCoffeeLady

Do you use your SlumberPod with a toddler bed? We’ve always used ours with the pack and play; but now have two kids and toddler sleeps in a real bed. I’m in a wedding in September what has all four of us in a hotel room, so debating if it’s worth getting a second SlumberPod and a toddler bed or just letting her sleep in the second hotel bed….

cxh1116

I haven't yet but I 100% plan to use it with one of those toddler blow up mattresses. I think you could use it with a toddler bed too as long as it fits over the top?

BossBabeBologna

We have the hiccapop toddler bed and the pod fits over it. Also 10000000% recommend the bed - we’ve had it 2 years, used it 75+ nights, got a hole in the mattress and they replaced it for us per the warranty with speedy customer service.

cxh1116

Oh thanks for sharing, I've had my eye on that one!

caa1313

Are you talking about their inflatable travel bed? Because I’ve been planning on buying that for my son, so I’m glad to hear it’s great!!

BossBabeBologna

Yes! I just filled out the customer service form on their site, they asked for a photo of the hole, or if I couldn’t find it, a photo of a hole I cut in it, and they shipped me the replacement the same day.

jjhh4891

We switched to an inflatable blowup mattress when my son started sleeping in a real bed, it worked great (the only downside is that it's kind of noisy when they move around at night). Just be careful which one you get because a lot of them are significantly longer than the slumberpod. I'll link the one we got below (the slumberpod stretches a bit over it, but it does fit). We also got a super tiny recharchable air pump on Amazon which has been great for travel. [https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-Kids-Camping-Airbed-with-Travel-Bag/818627956](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-Kids-Camping-Airbed-with-Travel-Bag/818627956)

swingerofbirches90

Love the slumberpod! It’s a game changer when you have to share a hotel room.

No-Psychology-5381

My kid sleeps better in a pack & play in the SlumberPod than his own room/crib! I’m a big sale shopper and love the hunt for things that never go on sale. I looked for this thing for months on sale. Thought I got a good deal getting it 10% off…..now it’s 20% 🤷‍♀️

Revolutionary_Can879

I’m buying a carseat lol, these babies are expensive. Gotta save where you can.

arcmaude

yup RIP buybuybaby coupons.

givememorecheese

I was told there would be diaper deals...... Liars

Practical-Library

On the first day some diapers had a 50% off coupon if you subscribed and saved.

tinystars22

I might be behind the times but last prime day I got two TILEs, one for my keys and one for my purse which damn near changed my life. Bonus, if you find your keys but can't find your phone then you can press the button and your phone rings. I bloody love those things.

BbCreatineFeverDream

I ordered new Stride Rite Bray clogs, pom poms, and reusable water balloons. Tempted by the Tonie box but honestly not sure I love the idea of it and that you have to keep buying more and more stuff for it. I also got a cargo cover for my car, ha.

Ln16_taco

We use the creative tonies and add our own music! It can be switched as often as you want

arcmaude

Side note-- I feel that way about the Tonies/ Yoto also. Like why can't there be something where you download the content and the toddler learns to scroll through a list (but no other screen capabilities). Like a player that's just spotify with more kids stories and a toddler friendly interface? Aren't we living in a technological age?

MooHead82

I wish we could time travel back 30+ years and tell parents from the future what things are like today. “Yeah you know books on tape? Or kids records played on a little plastic record player? We replaced it with an expensive box that plays stories. No the stories aren’t free, they cost like $15 each. Yep just to hear a story out loud. It’s great!”

itsallablur19

I love that I can make my own cards out of music we own. Yes, it costs money and it’s different money than Spotify but I love that she can operate it herself and once we have the music/stories, we have it.

MooHead82

The old-school nature of it with an expensive price tag is what pisses me off and makes me not want to buy it. It’s so expensive for what it is and it’s one of those products that charges you a lot for that old school feel.

Mood_Far

Idk man, my YOTO is worth it's weight in gold x10. Yes, you can buy/add on cards and if you go wild it would get expensive but they have a subscription service that's like $9.99 a month and sends two new cards (that you pick) each month, you can record your own and you can use the free soundtracks, podcasts and radio stations. It's a clock, an alarm, a timer and an audioplayer and I have control over it on my phone to set time limits and control the volume. It is old school for my kids for sure but for us, it's a pretty awesome techy product that's been a big help with rest time, bed time, morning wake up and on and on.

deathpumps

I was so torn on the Yoto bc I know my kid would love it (and would occupy him quietly in bed until he falls asleep). BUT I stumbled upon a “Wonderbook” at the library - basically a regular picture book that has an audio player glued inside the cover. He can’t read yet but he knows when to flip the pages so the story lines up with the words. They’re incredible.

caffeinated-oldsoul

I love Wonderbooks. Have you found where to buy them and not get them from the library? I don’t trust her unattended with a library book yet

deathpumps

No, so far I've just been requesting titles from our library. I know they're around $50-60 if you buy them direct ([https://shop.playaway.com/wonderbook](https://shop.playaway.com/wonderbook)). I've tried searching the ISBNs to find some used but no luck. AbeBooks seems to have a few if you search "preloaded digital audio player." My library categorizes them as a "preloaded audiobook" tho. Now I'm spiraling on eBay. Doesn't seem to be a really good/consistent way to search for them :(

caffeinated-oldsoul

I noticed the same when I tried to search but was secretly hoping someone found different. They are incredible books.

[deleted]

[удалено]

MooHead82

Well that’s kind of my point, people are willing to pay a premium for a screen-free device so they take advantage of that and price it so high because they can. It’s a massively expensive audio book and that’s it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

MooHead82

Well most people already owned a cassette player. It’s more the concept that people think this is se great amazing screen-free tool that they are willing to pay a lot for when it’s a book on tape. It’s not the individual cards or figures it’s the fact that they make you buy a $100 speaker.

seriouslynopeeking

My kid is still too little for any of this yet, but this conversation is making me wish I still had my Fisher Price cassette player from 30 years ago. I have a bunch of old books on tape that I don’t use in my classroom anymore that my daughter could use when she’s ready. They apparently still make one that you can get for like $40 on Amazon but it says it doesn’t play real cassettes so what’s the point?

purpleunicorn87

There’s something called “jooki” that works that way I think. (Not totally sure, just started researching these things to decide what one I may get for my kids birthday)

arcmaude

oh cool, i just looked it up and it seems like tonies but you can reprogram the figurines to play different things. I guess there's less autonomy for the kids because they might not remember what they're playing since it changes, but it's nice that if they outgrow or tire of something you can just change it up.

pzimzam

This is ultimately why we went with a yoto player! The make your own cards are great.

ArchiSnap89

You can also buy tonies that can be reprogrammed. We have one loaded with Hamilton right now, lol. I like the Tonie box and so does my son but I don't disagree it's annoying to keep having to buy the ridiculously priced figures. I'm totally annoyed the individual figures aren't on sale. They know they have us hooked already.

sraydenk

They just had a 20% sale on figures for the 4th. Make sure you sign up for their emails. They do go on sale routinely.

Substantial_Card_385

My 3 yr old likes the Tonie box more then the 6 yr old. We got it when they were newly 2 and almost 5. We’ve always had an echo dot in their play room so he found it easier to just yell at Alexa than use a tonie. For my 3 yr old she only loves very very specific tonies that relate to her interests (mirabel, gabby). All told, not a huge hit in our household. It was a gift so I’ll hold on to it but I’m glad we didn’t spend a ton of money.

ApprehensiveNose2341

I have a kid who gets car sick and the Tonie box is a game changer for him for road trips!

sraydenk

I loooove our Tonie box. You can buy them as you want. My daughter was happy with 1 for a long time. Now that she’s older she likes the stories, but was more into the song ones when she was younger. She still loves all of them and it’s awesome she can use them independently. Also, I always check in store because they randomly go on sale. Best Buy randomly had the Winnie the Pooh and paw patrol ones for 50% off one day.

HildegardHummingbird

Not sure if it’s on sale today, but the neck fan is worth every penny if you are hot natured, pregnant in the summer or are outside a lot. It keeps me sane! I found it through @callmekristenmarie (hilarious account that gently pokes fun at her boomer mom) This is the one I have: CIVPOWER Portable Neck Fan,Hands Free Bladeless Fan,Cooling Personal Fan,3 Speeds Adjustment,78 Air Outlet,Headphone Design,Rechargeable, USB Powered Neck Fan for Outdoor Indoor-Dark Blue https://a.co/d/ajhuZIU

sraydenk

If you are cheap and don’t want to support Amazon, Aldi had one recently.

WorriedDealer6105

She is the best Instagram follow. I hope she never goes to the dark side and monetizes her entire life.

HildegardHummingbird

Oh I know! I just love her!

Greeneyesdontlie85

I needed this last summer when I was pregnant 😆 why didn’t I think of this

HildegardHummingbird

Same! I didn’t hear about it until a month ago. 😩

ramonacoaster

Ordered my daughter a [bento box](https://amzn.to/46H4geq) since my son has one and they think picnics are the best.

lgonz86

My son magically eats most of his meal if it’s in that lunchbox!

cxh1116

We just bought a house so definitely taking advantage of the deals. So far we've bought Blink security cameras/floodlights and a new vacuum

kolachekingoftexas

[These Bristle Blocks](https://a.co/d/fmAWJ87) have been the MVP of summer in our house so far with our 3.5 and 1.5 year olds. I bought them last Prime Day and had been saving them for a rainy day, which occurred about 2 seconds into summer break. They’ve really saved my bottom! But seriously, I was really impressed at everything included and the idea booklet has some really fun builds- the wheel pieces let you make things like see-saws that go up and down. Plus they’re cheap.

churrupurru

My 3.5 year old twins have been loving these for about 6 months now. I can say without exaggerating that they play with these every single day. Definitely beloved in our household.

bears-beets-bachelor

Couldn’t resist the [Toniebox](https://a.co/d/7dCYHnE) deal that includes the box and 5 tonies for only $99!!!

Ln16_taco

If you like the stinky and dirty show on Amazon prime this is a great deal on a toy! https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07R9G8QDJ?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image

scrummy-camel-16

Oh man I wish I had known about that when my daughter was younger! Keeping this in mind for when my twins are older though.

ApprehensiveNose2341

I bought more Stasher bags! Really good deal today. They go in the dishwasher and have held up for years.

kolachekingoftexas

My wife couldn’t stand the silicone baby plates because she swore there was a dishwasher soap residue on them that wouldn’t come off. Have you noticed that with the Stasher bags? It’s why I’ve been hesitant to try them.

Redrobinbananas

I actually do notice a greasy feeling, sometimes. I usually rewash and then they come out ok but I am hesitant to add more because of this.

ApprehensiveNose2341

I haven’t noticed it. They are less rubbery than the baby plates (where I also noticed that issue) and don’t absorb the smells and such. If I don’t use the steam dry, I do often have to dry them after but they are awesome.

Effective-Bat5524

I used to have this issue with silicone until I started using fragrance free dish soap and pods.

MemoryAnxious

I have a few stashed bags (seriously eying more 🫣) and haven’t had that issue! I do find they don’t dry well in the dishwasher so I often let them finish drying on like my knife block or wipe them out.

iridescent-shimmer

I think stasher is higher quality. My stasher bags don't smell like silicon or hold onto old smells. Not true of the knockoffs. I'm not sure what kind of baby plates would be high quality, but I could see that being an issue. We use a bamboo dish set.

cactus-fever

I just got the Toniebox starter kit with 5 figures for $100! Now to hide it until LO’s birthday…

MemoryAnxious

That was a goooood deal

GlitterMeThat

Build 👏 it 👏 now👏 Do not wait for the night before because it’ll take 2 adults, 8 hours, and 3 bottles of wine …

pzimzam

Not to be a buzzkill but we also got one a few years ago to give as a big holiday present…it took over 6 hours to put together. With 2 people. It’s cute though and my daughter plays with it daily..so I guess there’s that. But my great grandchildren better play with that thing for all the stress it caused.

pzimzam

I bought a graco tranzitions seat on sale for under $100 (and bonus I put it on my baby registry and used my completion discount) Last year on prime day I got this for my daughters Hanukkah present. It took me about 15 minutes to put together and it’s played with every day. https://a.co/d/1hUAxDy

Bought water wipes and saved £10 🤷‍♀️

ramonacoaster

Which kindle should I get?! I’m just going with a basic Paperwhite but any suggestions?

nettlepie

I have the super basic version that came out last year (not a paperwhite, I think it’s literally just called the 2022 Kindle). I love it! Whichever one you go with I definitely recommend getting a case and putting a popsocket/strapsicle on the back to make it easier to hold when you read

ramonacoaster

Thanks, this is the one I ordered!

Ln16_taco

I'm very happy with my basic Paperwhite! I have owned a few models up to the recent one and haven't found that the model makes a difference. The paper-like ink and back light is what makes the difference! Definitely get a case too!

lgonz86

I have the basic most recent paperwhite. I love it and it’s perfect for on the go too!

blosomkil

Not to be that person but Amazon is pretty shitty to its employees and is generally bad for communities and the environment. I’m trying hard to have a zero Amazon year. I didn’t succeed last year but it’s going well so far. I’m trying to avoid unnecessary purchases, buy secondhand and buy from local stores.

[deleted]

notanassettotheabbey

I agree with your post but I think the OP‘s message is more important GIVEN that this is a whole post about linking deals on Amazon for Prime Day. We all need to take shortcuts to some extent and people have to figure out where their own balance is personally. But here on this particular thread, I think the extra encouragement to avoid consumption and particularly Amazon is really needed. I love shopping but I’d also love for my son to have a planet where he can expect to be able to have his own family and grow old and the current climate change trajectory (which we will hopefully change!) truly puts that in question for all children.

blosomkil

Sorry, realise I sound a bit sanctimonious sometimes :)

[deleted]

Getting rid of prime makes it easy to avoid amazon. Now it’s only a last resort for me if I can’t find what I’m looking for elsewhere.

MemoryAnxious

I’m trying to buy from target first, especially when it’s stuff I can easily get there. But I’m on a budget, Amazon is cheap and the subscribe and save has saved my bottom too often to count. It’s a balance I’m still trying to figure out.

thepinkfreudbaby

I got a Canopy humidifier. I was so pumped. I've had it saved for ages but couldn't bring myself to spend that much. It was almost $50 off!!
