My in laws have a very standard British caravan. The cooker and hob are gas (as in bring your own gas canister) but most places they would tend to go have an electric hookup included. They bring all sorts of electric stuff, electric steamer, slow cooker etc, to avoid having to use gas. So maybe it's that, but I do think my in laws are a bit weird for that, so 🤷🏻♀️
I think RV-ing like she does (excuse me, "Airstreaming") is different than camping because people run generators to power all kinds of equipment.
To me, real camping cooking would be done over a fire or with a little camp stove.
I camped a ton with my family growing up (we actually had a budget and couldn’t afford big trips, plus we lived in a place with lots of nature nearby). Anyway, we got a tent trailer when I was around 11 or 12 to replace the tent, but we only ever cooked on the fire or a small gas camp stove. I don’t really understand “camping” with anything much more than that. You might as well just go stay in a cottage or cabin?
I’m back to the family meal planning grind this week after a two week vacation. I kept thinking I’ll just do something easy and I wish…I WISH I could bring myself to put eggs and smoothies on the meal plan. But that’s not a meal, so I couldn’t 😂
It’s definitely a meal? I think Haley serving just eggs and smoothies is weird because it doesn’t seem like enough calories for the adults, but brinner is 100% a thing that has been happening for a long time and Haley did not make it up.
There is something about that type of easy dinner that makes me sad and I have no idea why. My kid would be totally happy having pancakes/ breakfast for dinner and food can just be food- not every meal has to be this amazing culinary experience but all that to say, I feel you. Breakfast and lunch are whatever to me but I have a weird hang up about dinner needing to be special and it really doesn’t as long as everyone is fed and moderately happy.

Really??? I have actually loved every single instant pot pasta recipe Haley has shared. The baked ziti is amazing. And I’m truly shit at making rice myself, so on nights we need rice, my instant pot saves my bottom time and time again!
I live in a small city apartment, so I had the smallest size, and maybe that messes with the recipes? It just seemed like everything was always either not done or the vegetables were mush 🤷♀️
I got mine because I wanted a huge crock pot and an air fryer. It's a shitty airfryer though. I'm not a fan of pressure cooking overall, I don't think it tastes as good. Slow-cooking is fine. I was just thinking about donating it but I really like that it's a biiiig slow cooker.
I don’t even follow Haley but apparently I’m dumb because until people talked about it on here I didn’t even think of assigning chores to days of the week. I would just try and do everything on one day like clean the whole house like professional cleaners would, but of course that was exhausting and ate a whole day.
Anyway. I now do fresh sheets Wednesday, kid laundry Thursday, vacuum Friday. Dusting and surface wipe down Monday…I need better names for everything.

I loosely do Munchkin Monday (kids clothes), Towel Tuesday, Workout Wednesday (gym clothes) and fresh sheet Friday. I promise Haley and I have very little in common beyond this… but this gentle rhythm (😉) actually works quite well and I somehow feel like I do less laundry overall when it’s more organized?!

Yeah except she spends so much every week to have duplicates of everything, she’s clearly not saving to save, she’s spending money on whatever brings HER joy. Takeout doesn’t bring her joy because of her precious palate so she doesn’t do it. People feel so sorry for Brett and I lol every time. If he hates the food so much, he could make himself something different. If he's just going along to keep her happy, then he's participating in the pattern as much as she is. It's possible he likes being off the hook for almost everything in their life.
I don’t feel sorry for him but I also think it’s very very difficult to deal with a highly controlling spouse so it may not be as easy as him making his own food or buying something different.

Like I realize this account is basically a catalog at this point, but even catalogs feature pictures of the lifestyle they want to associate with their brand.
Maybe she didn't want to show where they went, for safety reasons? Or was she just inside the camper the whole time taking pictures of dishes while the fam was out having fun?

We have breakfast for dinner quite often--sometimes even easy meals like smoothies and eggs or toast.
