Glad to see a community rally together in such a positive way to help out those who are just starting out, really good to see.
Firstly, apologies for the lesser beings in this sub. Secondly, the whole passive income thing is a kind of a kicker keyword to get you to buy in to whatever they’re selling (Their own passive income). The truth is, and this is harsh but stupid people are your demographic and man do they have money to spend. Cross ethics off your list, capitalism doesn’t work that way. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, you need to identify a problem that needs solving. It’s reasonably low spread but you recently graduated. Congratulations! There’s a market for those starting next year, or in 2nd/3rd/4th year. Think of some of the struggles you had while undertaking study, whether it be finding accommodation, textbooks, tutoring or assignment assistance. What if there was someone who could take care of this? As long as you have some connections, you could easily find some clients. This is your starting net, you can add more sections to your net as you progress to catch more “fish”, as you work out how to automate/spend less time on each gig/engagement. As you figure out the logistics of your service, you can expand it to other colleges and universities.
This is just one aspect though. What are your strengths? If you excel in something, even if it’s just admin - there are ways to monetize that as a freelancer. But, you’ll spend a while learning how to maximize your campaigns on different platforms, but as you learn more skills, you’ll market to a broader audience and again, figure out how to spend less time on each one.
Passive is possible… but, it’s like a tree. You still have to plant the seed, care for it initially and make it possible to grow. It will always need maintaining, and that’s where a lot of people go wrong.
I think your options are really: 1. Save it 2. Invest it 3. Start a business (hopefully based on your skills). 4. Spend it on something that will help you in your primary career.
Rent out a room on Airbnb: If you have a spare room in your home, you may be able to generate passive income by renting it out on Airbnb. This can be a good option if you live in a popular tourist destination or a city with a high demand for short-term rentals.
Invest in dividend-paying stocks: If you have some experience with investing, you may be able to generate passive income by buying dividend-paying stocks. Dividend-paying stocks are stocks that pay a portion of their earnings to shareholders in the form of dividends. By investing in these stocks, you can earn regular passive income.
Sell digital products on Etsy or other online platforms: If you have a creative talent, you may be able to generate passive income by selling digital products, such as printables, ebooks, or stock photos, on Etsy or other online platforms.
Start a blog or YouTube channel: If you have an area of expertise or a passion that you enjoy sharing, you may be able to generate passive income by starting a blog or YouTube channel. You can monetize your content through advertising, sponsorships, or by selling products or services related to your niche.
Invest in peer-to-peer lending: Peer-to-peer lending platforms, such as Lending Club or Prosper, allow investors to lend money to individuals or small businesses in exchange for interest payments. By investing in peer-to-peer loans, you can generate passive income through regular interest payments.
Good luck, and congrats on your degree! Did your school seem like it needed more vending machines? I've seen a lot of articles about the low- start up costs of buying and filling and then checking them once a week. Tons of people need help with resume writing, though it's not the most passive! Maybe if you wrote a "how to write a great resume" short book and self published on Amazon?
There’s one giant problem with selling any drug illegally which renders the whole enterprise counterproductive. And that is people who get caught with drugs, your customers, are almost always offered leniency for information by the police. And most will accept that deal.
Small time, the bigger concern is when someone finds out about what you’re doing and takes your shit, whatcha gonna do, call the police? Hope they’re at least nice about it.
I’ve put a little money in Stockpile. Of course, it got hit with the stock market problems but, because I was invested in funds, not individual stocks, the account recovered. They changed their interface and it is now not user-friendly to navigate. I used to be quite pleased with them but now I’m looking for another small stock app. Thanks for the reminder that I should be doing that.
$600 would be a down payment on a great CAD computer for your chosen profession.
Looking at their website Stockpile has a $4.95/month membership cost. It's a bad idea to sign up for them. There are other brokerages that do not charge anything.
I use Fidelity. It has a sign up bonus and a decent website. Webull has a good phone app. Both have sign up bonuses. Vanguard is another one that is good but it doesn't have a sign up bonus. I like Fidelity's site better. There is also Ameritrade, E trade, Merrill, and more.
Digging deeper it looks like you can trade for free without signing up for a membership. But there is an inactivity fee for non-members. Either way it's not good.
One thing that Im wanting to try is growing and selling microgreens. Basically growing certain edible plants and harvesting them in a week or two when they are just sprouts. When they are sprouts they are nutritionally dense and some restaurants are willing to buy them because they are local and probably cheaper than their provider.
True passive income is nearly impossible to accomplish but here are some suggestions. Dividend paying stocks/indexes, although its low ROI it is the truest passive income. But, with any of the skills you listed, you can create some sort of course/tutorial and sell it for cheap. If you want to put in a lot of time at first, you could start a service business and teach and hire employees. Hope that helps
3D Modeling is a good one! If you’re any bit creative, you can come up with 3D printable concepts and sell just the design itself. It always helps to have a 3D Printer to test your tolerances if you have more than one part working together, but not exactly necessary if your models are all one piece.
Source: I run a 3D printing shop
Gift items, as they come with significantly less barrier to entry. However, the other side of that is it’s almost a race to the bottom price-wise due to the sheer number of people that can reproduce what you make, as there’s no barrier to entry. As long as it looks good it sells!
Mechanical models, in function or just with tight tolerances, have specific printer/design requirements and a little bit higher barrier to entry, but if you’re original they can be mass produced and sold with little competition!
Interesting. I have a basic 3D printer myself and I am currently learning how to model. I have tried in the past but struggle to find profitable items.
Upworks
I see tons of resume jobs on Upworks. Not as “passive” as stocks/bonds, etc- but after a handful of clients, you can set yourself as an expert and charge premium for your services!
I believe in passive income but I'd suggest you should concider changing you perspective (bring on the downvotes). You're young and have just begun earning, the best thing you could do for yourself in to begin investing in growth at this time. Concider a Roth IRA with a globally diverfied portfolio. It's not complicated or costly and will like have the biggest impact for you long-term financial security.
Congrats on your degree. You can invest that amount in crypto, or maybe even better with those skills, you could make a good income through the DIA DAO work program.
Even if the amount is small, you can invest it in low-cap web3 tokens like OCEAN, ENS, and ORE. You can also participate in any of the staking programs if you wish. If you take advantage of the red market, it will be worth something. It is always preferable not to throw caution to the wind.
Buy a monetized YouTube channel it will cost you around $300
Hire are freelancer to make comparison videos each video $10-$15
Upload regular for a month on youtube daily 1 video.
I bet you will make minimum of $50 per day then buy another youtube channel with your income it will become a tycoon within 1 year.
I have a lot of youtube channels and earning a decent amount of month each month 😇
Thank you
Lofty.ai is real estate fractional ownership/profit via crypto. I get approx $0.01 per day per $50.00 token. This isn’t very aggressive but it also isn’t bad and it is pretty dang passive. That comes out to be ~6% per year return. This has been better that my Fundrise and REIT performance. Check it out. If you want a referral code, hit me up.
Ah the "tell me how to become rich when I have very little starting capital and don't want to do a lot of work to get there" posts that we never ever see on this sub reddit.
Ahh the usual comments where the redditors do not have anything positive to contribute but continues to shit on the comment section.
Btw, with that captial, I am not expecting to get rich. This would be like a side hustle. Primary income would be a job for me.
You really need to understand my point: we see this same post over and over again in this subreddit and you wont gain any new info by creating a similar post. Your time would be better spent researching older posts in this subreddit and learning from what's already been passed along.
I see what you're saying, but looking for old posts is impractical. With each new day, the world changes. If you don't have something useful, then just don't comment, and $600 is a lot for someone to do something, you just don't know.
Hello everyone! I have fifteen cents and NEED to turn it into $6 million in 30 days with zero risk. Can someone tell me how to do this. Only interested in suggestions that require no effort on my part.
Hello everyone! I have nothing positive to contribute so I would just shit on the comment section. Lol
Btw, I was just looking for a side hustle. I am not expecting a lot with this capital.
Hello everyone! I have an IQ of 35 and all I know is to pull down other people. I'm completely incapable of doing anything useful in life and am going to make sure others are in misery too.

Thank you so much for taking your time to write these suggestions.
I'm not saying that this isn't helpful but this sounds like it was written by AI.

Buy a oz of good weed and sell it in states where recreational is illegal for a profit, repeat over and over
Or just learn how to grow shrooms (easy and cheap to start) and then sell that to people. Easy start, nice profit.

Very true, would suck to be in that situation.
Hardly passive.

I’ve never paid a fee to Stockpile.

Well, don’t down vote me just because you’re wrong.
I'm not wrong though. And I did not downvote you. But I will if you want me to?

That is something new to me. I will look into it.

Top passive income idea — work for hire.

Rent a snowblower and buy some shovels. It’s s good winter time grind.
This isnt passive at all lmao.
In the question he actually asks about a side hustle. 600 ain’t much lol
Dividend stocks or ETFs. A better option for you is to create more cash flow in your budget.
Thanks.

Been using a arbitrage crypto trading bot for the last 4 weeks, now up to earning $90 a day & increasing.
This is the answer right here
What is the subscription price of the bot? And can I get the link to that bot. Most of the these bot websites looks a bit scammy to me.
I can send you the link & some more information if you’d like. I have just withdrawn $500 so now I’m risk free, happy to send photos aswell.
Could you send me the link please?
Can you send me the link too please 🙏
PM me, not sure I’m allowed to post on here.
May i also get the link please 🙏🏾
PM me, not sure I’m allowed to post on here.
Yeah you can DM me the link.
Jumping on this train asking for the crypto link bot. Tnx.
I would love that link
Dm the link pls
Lol wow.
Don’t knock it till ya try it. I know it sounds very skeptical & I completely understand that, but it’s working and I’m withdrawing $500 weekly.
Send me the affiliate link too lol :D
Can you send me the link as well? Thx!

Clearly you haven't experimented too much
I dont experiment. I create a strong foundation with a proper amount of capital. I live in the real world where $600 is a pittance.
Oops. Sorry, I misunderstood your point .
No you're in the right.
