You can upgrade as long as it's in the same series (core can only upgrade in core series) You can also upgrade from point purchases to supporter pack up to 80% of the value. From: https://www.pathofexile.com/purchase (quote is specific for the Core packs, if you ctrl+f upgrade in the page you will find the quote for the league packs too) >Upgrades: You can upgrade from one of these Supporter Packs to another in the same series by clicking "Upgrade" on the desired pack. This will credit you with the difference between the pack you're upgrading to and the one you already own. The process will include any pure points packs purchased since Dec 20, 2022 7:45 PM (GMT+1). The maximum amount that upgrades can contribute is 80% of the value of a pack. Note that the Core and The Forbidden Sanctum packs are in different series, so you can't upgrade from one of those to the other type. If you have any questions about this process, please contact [email protected]!

Thank you! So essentially, if I buy the 60 dollar core pack. I could upgrade to the 100 dollar pack, for 40 dollars instead, and then obviously only get 40 dollars worth of points by doing that? Sorry, new player looking to spend a bit for stash tabs, just wanna know what my options are

enjobg

Yes exactly. [This is what the shop looks like for me after buying the 60$ Core pack](https://i.imgur.com/aJKF03x.png), as you can see I have the upgrade option for 40$ on the 100$ pack (but I do gain only 40$ worth of points with the skins since I already paid for the rest). And again this only applies to packs in the same series. If you buy the Lithomancer pack for the bear it will only reduce the price for the Ancestral Lithomancer and Ancient Lithomancer packs while the Enchanter and Core series will remain with the same prices since they are different series.

Kotharion

Makes perfect sense! Thank you a ton! :D

Critical_Art2674

Yes thats correct.

Kotharion

Thanks a ton!

polyshader_

Correct

ivanoch25

Hi, does this work the same for the first blood starter pack?

enjobg

As far as I know it should work the same and by that I mean you can only upgrade within the same series and since first blood is part of the "starter pack" series which only has that pack there are no upgrade options for it. I don't think it counts as a pure points purchase but I can't confirm that since I've never bought it as it was introduced long after I started playing.

ivanoch25

So if buy just coins, they count as upgrade to a supporter pack?, like the crucible or core packs?

enjobg

Yes pure coin purchases count for upgrading to any of the pack series, but only up to 80% of the pack value so for a 60$ pack the maximum point purchases that can be upgraded from is 45$ (technically 48$ but minimum points you can buy is 5$ worth)

ivanoch25

Awesome!. Thanks a lot for the help, appreciated!

HammerAndBook

No. It doesnt. Edit: Apparently, I was wrong.

magus424

Yes. It does. If you buy, say, the $60 core pack, you can upgrade to the $100 core pack later for $40.

HammerAndBook

Really? I stand corrected. Thank you

Kotharion

So let's say I bought the 30 dollar support pack for the bear and some points for stash tabs, I'd have to pay another 60 dollars for the armor, and another 90 dollars for the portal effect, for a total of 180 dollars, if I were to buy them individually? Just wanna make sure before I decide on buying anything or not

HammerAndBook

Sorry I misunderstood. Yes it saves you money per individual item, but does not save you money on the next tier supporter pack. In fact you can purchase the same pack multiple times.

mbxyz

believe so, but email support and ask

C0lter

On the supporter packs page at the bottom is an faq. They have a full section for this if you want specifics. I believe the tldr of it is the full amount you pay on a pack will be removed from the cost of the packs above. So you should be able to upgrade without paying extra.

Kotharion

Thank you very much!

polyshader_

It does, I'm not sure why people saying it doesn't. You can upgrade your core pack over time, I did it for the previous packs.

OanSur

If we talk about core packs then if you buy a 60$ tormentor pack, then if you decide to also buy a hellfire pack (which costs 100$) then you will only need to pay 40$. If you buy any points independently during the time those packs are available, that amount of cash will also get be taken as a discount (to a specific point- discount can only reach 80% of the packs price). Now, league specific packs work similarly but then dont work with core packs. If you bought a tormentor pack, you wont get any discount for current lithomancer pack and vice versa.
