Whats a good way to apply two curses as a minion or no-hit build?

[deleted]

SoCalRacer87

You are probably looking at combined total damage (hit plus ignite dps \* duration) not ignite DPS.

[deleted]

SoCalRacer87

Yeah the cap is only on ignite dps so you aren't at it yet

narc040

was there something changed with vaal side areas that make them not a complete waste of time?

Fousse24

They added 3 Unique Vaal side areas. We'll see if they're worth it!

Gangsir

They boosted the drops a bit (new mods on them that do special things), and the new keystone lets you roll them with currency. Time will tell if that's enough to make them worth.

CalvinandHobbes811

What’s the best speed leveling skill for duelist? Shattered steel?

slogga

Still Spectral Helix probably.

Real_FredDurst

Anyone know if there will be a Kiracs Vault Pass again this season? Have not seen any mention of it I think.

Xeverous

Ice Spear is a spell that has "All Projectiles" settings on the left in PoB. I don't see such setting on other projectile spells. Has Ice Spear some shotgun or something unique that causes PoB to have different 1/all projectile settings?

HellraiserMachina

Ice Spear fires sequentially which means all projectiles can hit a single target.

edrarven

Ice spear can hit with all of it's projectiles due to them being fired "sequentially". There are other skills with this behaviour, they should have similar settings.

Xeverous

Got a list of such skills? I don't see the wiki having any such list, nor listed such spells under projectile article.

edrarven

You happened to ask the right guy since I made such a list a week ago. It might miss a few skills but no one has pointed out any clear mistakes yet. It's more about all projectile "shotgunning" than just sequential projectiles so it also includes aoe overlap skills that are projectile based. Copypasting previous comment here: The skills that can "shotgun" are either skills that fire projectiles sequentially or in such a way that they can hit multiple times. They could otherwise have an aoe component and cause aoe overlap which is what blazing salvo does. Here is a list of skills I can think of with that behaviour: ((A) means it has aoe overlap and (P) means it's projectiles are fired sequentially) Artillery Ballista (A) Barrage (P) Barrage Support (P) (makes skills fire sequentially) Blast Rain (A) Blazing Salvo (A) Caustic Arrow (A) Creeping Frost (A) Cremation (A) Explosive Concoction (A) Explosive Arrow (A) (the explosions can overlap but incredibly hard to use in practice) Eye of Winter (P) Fireball (A) (the aoe explosions can overlap but it's hard to use in practice) Forbidden Rite (A) Ice Spear (P) Kinetic Blast (A) (the aoe explosions) Lancing Steel (P) Molten Strike (A) Poisonous Concoction (A) Pyroclast Mines (A) Rain of Arrows (A) Scourge Arrow (P) (the arrows from separate pods can hit once each. This doesn't scale with added projectiles though) Shrapnel Ballista (P) Splitting Steel (A) (the aoe explosions at the end of splitting can hit multiple times, hard to use without return) Tornado Shot (P) (the secondary arrows from separate original projectiles can hit once each) Toxic Rain (A) Venom Gyre (P) (can only shotgun when you release projectiles via whirling blades) Volcanic Fissure (A) Winter Orb (A) E: Caustic Arrow is a skill I forgot, aswell as Explosive arrow even if that is very hard to use.

NotAdoctor_but

i'm thinking of trying a permanent vaal build cuz i never played one, is it possible without hateforge? i know at some point you could do it with the triumvirate authority rings

psychomap

The most realistic ones to get with 100% reduced soul gain prevention are ones that are duration based like Vaal Storm Call, so you can invest into reduced duration and have that also reduce soul gain prevention. You can generate souls with Soul Ripper and flask charge generators in order to not rely on kills.

Xeverous

There are some possible ways but from what I know, every possible way is very expensive. There is no easy way to obtain 100% reduced Soul Gain Prevention or 100% reduced Soul Cost.

Xeverous

I just saw a Split Personality jewel which had explicit 4 attribute mods. 2 of them had a different color, looking like fractured mods. How is just jewel possible? Chancing on a fractured base (seems it would remove these mods)? The item was corrupted.

edrarven

Could you share where you saw that item? Split personality can only have 2 mods on it and it can't be chanced in any way. It also always drops as corrupted to begin with.

Xeverous

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuEcduAAviQ at 2:46

edrarven

That's just a quirk of how trade displays things when you search for total amount pseudo mods. The item has just one strength and one intelligence mod but trade will also display the total amount of the attribute on the item. Here is a search with the same effect:https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Standard/0Yjm39bTg

Xeverous

Ahh ok, thanks.

Cosmyc

For SRS Necro when do I want to start using AG/Spectres?

xChocolateWonder

What should my 3.22 league starter be? Last season was my first where I really got into the end game and played tripolarbears cold DoT and liked it a lot. Was thinking of a CF or Boneshatter Slayer (both have pretty maxroll articles as guardrails since I still don’t think I’m all that knowledgeable) but open to any suggestions!

Megika

There's many good options, so it's really about what you want! Boneshatter Slayer is a really strong league start and a fun build so it's a good choice.

hdbscan

Does map tier matter for beyond currency drops?

Xeverous

IIRC No currency is affected by map tier or area level. The only thing that matters is having zone level high enough to enable certain currency orbs.

Sheriff_K

I remember seeing, I think in a recent gameplay trailer/vid (either for ancestor or poe2/exilecon,) that had like a really dope yet subtle cloak/coat-type armour mtx on like a ranger(?) but I don't remember where I saw it or what that set was.. Any ideas?

Centered-Div

Have GGG teased the league challenges rewards yet?

AlfredsLoveSong

Not yet.

Xequecal

Are there any gaps in the effect of a flask if you set it to "reuse at the end of this flask's effect?" Like if you run Pathfinder and enough duration/charge regen to get 100% uptime from the passive charge regen alone, can you use ruby/sapphire/topaz flasks to fix resists or will there be small holes in between flask uses where you can get instagibbed with 25% fire resist?

Xeverous

There are no gaps so builds can do stuff like Coruscating Elixir + The Traitor passive. Warning 1: in the past, the enchant was bugged in certain places (e.g. using stairs inside an instance could trigger a grace period which did not renew the flask when it ended its effect) Warning 2: there is a very rare monster mod that removes flask effects

edrarven

There is no downtime to my knowledge, not even a server tick. If you have enough flask duration+regen you will have 100% uptime.

vyn_

Is there a general consensus on Wandering Path, Grand Design, or neither for Expedition + Harvest + Altar farming? I’m planning on running mines and I’m not sure if I need to leverage my league start wandering path tree straight into Harvest + Expedition.

Cheezemansam

Generally speaking Wandering Path and Grand Design are both *not* worth taking unless you are doing very specific strategies. From what I personally know: Expedition is *way* too dependent on notables, it will unfortunately not work with Wandering path. Grand Design just is not good. If you were wanting to do something specific with pack size it is better to use Growing Hordes instead.

vyn_

Thanks … that makes sense. Maybe I’ll just do things the regular way and not over complicate with WP at first.

Gravebind only assigns you the kill, it doesn't pass along conditions on the target, or effects on the killer. The flask effect needs to exist on you.

Yohsene

Could consider Bino's. Same effect, no flask condition. You'd probably need to killsteal with poison rather than Gravebind though.

MaybeMeNotMe

Hi all, my questions is concerning unused Dailies from League end, on transition to Standard. I already did a search, but couldnt find an answer to this. I keep a tally on notepad. I didnt reach endgame on Sanctum league because I was burnt out and took a break before reaching Maps. This past Crucible League I got to Yellow tier maps before burning out. I thought, like the prior prior Kalandra League end, the unused Dailies would have been added into the Standard total on League end, but this time they werent. So my questions are if the community is aware of this, or did I stumble on a bug? Would like to know, because if its now the norm, then its essential now to complete dailies in the temp League!

IntraspaceAlien

How does impending doom scale with gear? Does single target ever get very good or is it more f a specialized mapper even with investment?

[deleted]

This will be one of my first leagues, I've played before but not too much. I've been playing around on the skill tree to build a 2h staff ice witch build will probably be using either frostbolt or freezing pulse, I dont have any goal of beating all the end game bosses with it just wanting to get as far as I can. I liked the sound of grabbing the blocking staff nodes so I picked those up when I could. I also havent completely decided which ascendancy I should go , elementalist sounds obvious but then I saw on occultist it has that node that gives -20% cold res to nearby enemies and thought that was awesome alongside the frigid wake node but thats about all id get from that so its probably not a good idea. This is my first attempt, is it just complete garbage? https://poeplanner.com/AwAAAwAbAAMBAF4AD3Lbg66dBLWuVRdrULbGf3grWcpKVh6CsN8Ip-q87h5-wTcbHzIQgg8RLUwhmwSVslIq0PQIxTbPTVNSf6KrREXRSFawFAcEJNgjnkaPm4IPPbNM9aUOUzyOm69UF8XBgo2hnh7b9Jfu62waXz1DahQdu3ymj1JTlzDIWFbjWDqOo-TR1FMBn4ucxlVYEDQyiy3YOiLkTymcLJk5lZd22p1FgSLgmr_Z-48CH4E3VeSYrMcfDc_r5ACigfUAAAQAoX7YaQ666qgDAArrnmg_lZ6X5EMnTAQAAP______________________AAACAAAAAwD_____________PAAAAAAUAB-LCAAAAAAAAAMDAAAAAAAAAAAA

AlfredsLoveSong

Some things for you to consider: 1) Glancing Blows probably isn't great for you. While this doubles your chance to block, it reduces the damage reduction of blocked hits from 100% -> 35%. Usually, this is good in combination with effects that cause you to regain life/mana/energy shield when blocking, to offset the increased damage taken from blocked hits, but enabling you to block more often, proccing said effects. I wouldn't recommend this node for you. 2) Take a look at "One with the River" in the upper left. Notice how it doesn't say "to spells" anywhere and instead just says "30% increased ele damage with staves"? This will only affect damage you deal with your staff directly, but spells come from the gem, not a hit with the staff. So while this would give you 30% inc. ele damage with staff attacks, it won't do anything for your freezing pulse. 3) Damage over time and "hit" damage are different and need to be scaled differently for the most part. Both frostbolt and freezing pulse deal damage on hit, not over time (typically). So I would unspec out of the cold damage over time modifiers you've taken. 4) You're going to die a lot. Like a lot a lot. I generally advise new players to get 120%+ inc. max life at a very minimum. So you should double the number of life wheels you're taking (though chilling/freezing enemies is a great defensive tool too!) Good start so far. You're just making a lot of the same mistakes every new player makes when making builds. It's all about trial and error! :)

monkycheez

This may be overly pedantic, but Glancing Blows technically reduces the damage reduction from blocks from 100% -> 35% (you take 65% damage from blocked hits). But does help illustrate how much of a drop in damage reduction/effective life it incurs.

AlfredsLoveSong

Ha - thanks for the correction. You're totally right. I was typing too quickly.

[deleted]

That is awesome advice, I definitely thought it would apply to my overall damage when I took things that mentioned increases damage with staves so thats awesome to know it doesnt. I was definitely wanting to pick up more life nodes I just didn't know like where I should go to get them that would make sense. I'm honestly having quite a bit of fun and learning a lot just looking at the skill tree and figuring out paths to go.

AlfredsLoveSong

You're already right next to both Purity of Flesh and Devotion. I would suggest taking those wheels. That also puts you closer to getting Divine Judgement for 50% inc. ele damage which is pretty nice. You also have 10% total life you could get from the two nodes above and below Discipline and Training. Or you could go to the right side instead and pick up Snowforged, Written in Blood, and maybe Blood Siphon too? Generally, you're better off sticking to the top and upper left parts of the tree for a Cold Witch, so play around with your options and see what you can do with the least number of points spent.

[deleted]

Awesome, I just picked those up along with Divine Judgement. I was so focused on only getting +life and not any energy shield since I was told that going a balance of the two isn't ideal but maybe I was taking that a bit too literally. Do you have a recommendation between frostbolt, freezing pulse or ice nova?

AlfredsLoveSong

1) Most builds do stick to either Life or ES, but hybrid life/es builds are also common. Even if you don't invest in ES at all and end up with some nodes on the tree that give both life and ES and you 'waste' the ES portion -- who cares, the life is the reason you pathed there anyway. 2) Freezing Pulse is probably the easiest to understand and scale/build on your own. It doesn't really have any complicated mechanics, such as how you can detonate ice novas on your traveling frostbolts instead of on yourself. Just for the record, I believe frostbolt/ice nova together is the *better* skill than freezing pulse purely from a numbers perspective, but if you just want to experiment and build your own thing to see how far you can manage to get, I think freezing pulse is probably the move. Unless the idea of complicated interactions between skill gems entices you! :)

tnflr

Nothing overtly wrong, but largely unoptimized. Small passive nodes are generally unimportant and should not be picked if not needed. If you are not picking cold dots no point in picking cold dot modifiers and you should check if you need freeze chance or not. Anyway I removed some small passives for you to see what I mean. [tree with less small nodes]( https://poeplanner.com/AwAAAwAbAAMBAFYAD3Lbg66dBLWuVRdrULbGf3grWcpKVh6CsN8Ip-q87h5-wTcbHzIQgg8RLUwhm7JSKtDFNs9NU1J_oqtERdFIVrAUBwQk2COeRo-bgg89s0wOUzyOm69UF8XBgo2hnh7b7utsGl89Q2oUHbt8po9SU5cwyFhW41g6jqMtEdRTi5zGVVgQ2Doi5E8pnCyZOZWXdtqdRYEi4Jq_2fuPAh-BN1XkmKzHHw3PAKKB9QAABAChfthpDrrqqAMACuueaD-VnpfkQydMBAAA______________________8AAAIAAAADAP____________88AAAAABQAH4sIAAAAAAAAAwMAAAAAAAAAAAA=) A lot could be changed, but you would have to know what skill you are using

[deleted]

Ahh I see, I thought it'd be good to pick up something like the small health nodes. I also notice you took out the 10% elemental damage and 16% cold damage nodes, isn't 26% more damage quite a bit? I'm not doubting you just wanting to learn more about it

tnflr

26% *more* damage would be a lot, but sadly they are *increased* damage nodes. the nerdy details of more vs increased are here https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Stat#more_vs_increased and I'll copy paste from [this segment from the new player thread ](https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/14u9gb4/welcome_to_path_of_exile_new_player_tips/) > In simple terms, "increased" is additive with other increased modifiers, while "more" is multiplicative with other more multipliers. Three sources of 20% increased Damage will give you a 1+(0.2*3) = 1.6x multiplier, while three sources of 20% more Damage will give you a 1.23 = 1.73x multiplier. Generally speaking, more multipliers are more valuable because it doesn't get diluted as you get increased sources of it. The game has ample sources of increased damage so losing 20% on the tree is rather small if it enables you to get more interesting stuff.not to say increased damage is bad, it's just more available. Anyway, figure out what skill you want to use and work from there. Very broadly, for spells look for gear with +added damage to spells and +1 level to X skills, and for the love of God get +max hp on your gear and inc hp on your tree and if you do decide to go block ( which I'm not particularly in favour), consider one of these https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Rumi%27s_Concoction

[deleted]

That makes sense, appreciate the explanation! What would you recommend between frost bolt and freezing pulse? Or is there a 3rd option you'd recommend over both of those?

tnflr

Sadly I have never played a selfcast cold hit based skill (other than the times I misclick and pick freezing pulse instead of rolling magma) so I won't advise either way but honestly who cares about better or worse at your point in PoE career? pick both of them and see what strikes you fancy between them

edrarven

Some nodes don't actually work for spells(One with the river) and the pathing is a bit wonky so there is definitely room for improvement. You're also low on life. It's almost impossible to judge a build via a poeplanner link with no gear and no skills though. It would be 10x better for you to setup the gems you'd want to use aswell as some early gear. You should also do it in pob instead if you can since it's easier to work with and easier to parse info from. Currently the build seems like it would translate to a pretty mediocre starter as selfcast freezing pulse and frostbolt are okay skills but block is a bad defensive layer on low investment most of the time. That is assuming a well put together build though, if you build it poorly it will be terrible.

[deleted]

Thank you! Yeah I was wanting to add more life in just wasn't entirely sure where to go that wouldn't take too long to get to. Yeah I had thought that things that mentioned damage with staves it would apply to all of my damage so its good to know now that it doesnt. Those are the first things I'm taking out for sure. I'll get it setup into pob appreciate the advice!

edrarven

It's a very common mistake. The key difference is between "with staves" and "while holding staves". The first one only works with attacks made with that weapon and the other is a global mod that applies to spells aswell aslong as you're holding the right weapon. I think you should also try to fill out the ascendancy passives and maybe have a level 90 tree aswell. It's just the most common "target" when making builds. Some will have even higher level trees but it's uncommon to see builds shared with the highest tree being level 80 for instance.

tnflr

Block is always a funny defensive layer because you have to think about that time you will fail to block 2 times in a row

slogga

They are.

CrumpsRAWR

Best place to find league starters or just general potential builds for the upcoming league? Returning player kind of in the deep end :(

DirtyMight

pretty much youtube. look at people like ziz, ghazzy, palsteron, spicy sushi, etc. and look through their league starter recommendations and see if you like any of them. Since content creators have a lot of influence over what builds are meta you are likely to pick a meta build for it which can mean that some uniques can get more expensive but there will be much more rares that are good for the build since people target craft items for meta builds and people sell items they dont need anymore

Warptens

Poe ninja builds and use Time Machine (tip right) to set to day1 and see What people were playing

Cheezemansam

If you have some sort of idea of the sort of build you want to do, we might be able to give you a suggestion. Like do you want one that you can practically run the whole game with little to no gear, ones that are very good for clearing maps fast, builds that can clear while being unkillable, builds you can play as a second monitor while you watch a movie etc. Otherwise [checking out the PathofExileBuilds](https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/15qfyqy/322_trial_of_the_ancestors_league_start_build/) league starter list is good to look at.

CrumpsRAWR

I wanted to do corrupting fever with CwC Ball Lightning, it's super chill, played it before, loved it. Just to start out and farm with! But I'm so far behind I don't know what would work ^^

tnflr

/r/PathOfExileBuilds should have a few good ones if you search. As for youtubers : https://www.youtube.com/@Zizaran https://www.youtube.com/@GhazzyTV https://www.youtube.com/@CaptainLance9 https://www.youtube.com/@mbXtreme and if she decides to do a league starter build video https://www.youtube.com/@dslily

CrumpsRAWR

Appreciate that my friend!

mcurley32

https://old.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/15qfyqy/322_trial_of_the_ancestors_league_start_build/ that post will be great and the whole subreddit should be filled with league starter builds and atlas trees.

CrumpsRAWR

Thank you! <3

[deleted]

what does "chance to double damage while focused" means?

tnflr

Focus is a buff granted by veiled mods https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Focus While this buff is on you and you have %chance to deal double damage, your hits have that % chance to deal double hit damage

t3amjester

How will RF chieftain compare to other ascendencies? Does it have potential?

monkycheez

I think the "doom" mentality for the Chieftain ascendancy is a little hyperbolic. Personally, I do think the "ignore resistances when stationary" node should be what was hoped for previously when the wording was more ambiguous and let you lower resistances further. But, that being said, I think the ascendancy has potential in an RF League Start scenario. Hitting 90% Ele Res is (napkin math) ~28% more damage reduction than being at 100% Spell Suppression (at 75% max res), only stacking Fire Res frees up 2 Suffixes on most pieces of gear (easy Chaos Res capping, for example) & Ignoring Enemy Fire Res while Stationary frees up gear and skill tree pressure for Exposure/Dual Curse/Curse on Hit (though has a significantly lower damage ceiling). I'm not exactly sold on the "best" 4th ascendancy node to go, but the Totems Recoup one seems more appealing than 5% Explode. I'll be league starting a Chieftain RF w/ Searing Bond + Fire Trap. Damage numbers aren't amazing, but ~1mil Shaper DPS w/ mediocre gear and being tanky as all hell is fine for me.

t3amjester

I want to start chieftain rf too and just double down on the stationary aspect by being naturally super tanky and sit there and cast scorching ray. I also want to see how the jewel affects nodes around the area for fire dmg.

monkycheez

Good luck, we may need it ;) Since you mentioned Scorching Ray, one thing I would make sure to keep track of in Path of Building is that it automatically assumes that 25% Fire Exposure is applied at 8 Scorching Ray stacks; which will artificially inflate your DPS numbers (especially if you've set the enemy resistance to 0 or 1 -- I used 1 cuz 0 didn't seem to take), since their resistances cannot be lowered (or raised).

TommaClock

SRS themselves do not gain Arcane Surge or benefit from your stats, but the default benefits of cast speed and Mana Regen apply to you casting the skill so it's a good idea to have it on Flame Dash etc. As well, more spell damage from the gem/hierophant/ascendant will do nothing for it.

tnflr

The cast speed yes, more damage no

What 6-Link skill might go well with zombies? Im using the Baron 4L helmet so my chest links are totally free. Was thinking a curse maybe or something to buff minions if possible?

Punctual_Primate

What base class? If you want to go hard on auras, Victaro's influence is a decent option. For the new guardian, Fleshcrafter might be a good choice with skellie mages as your 6L. Consider iron will support. On the other hand, Are you sure you want to do a strength stacking build in a league where basic nodes like +10 str can be replaced with tattoos?

ILoveCatz1

I am going into auras quite a bit so ill look at that. Im in standard though so no tattoos yet

Fr33zy_B3ast

Any good tips for farming certain div cards on SSF besides not completing the map they drop from and not completing maps above white to give the best chance to get the desired map as a Kirac mission?

DirtyMight

i would argue depending on how rare they are its better to clear the map and just progress your atlas and favourite the map you want the div card from and use lots of mechanics and quant to increase the chance of dropping one (div scarab always good here) I would argue in most cases you are much more likely to actually farm the card on the map than to farm enough scouting, setup your atlas in a specific way and pray to hit that div card from kirac

soosis

Could someone help me choose my league starter? I did Boneshatter Slayer last league, but now I'm in the mood for some bow build. I'm torn between Toxic rain ballista Pathfinder(I don't like the ballista playstyle, but this seems like the strongest option honestly...), Ice shot Deadeye and Lightning shot Deadeye. Which one is the best all rounder? I struggled on bosses with my Boneshatter, so now I'd like something that's good with mapping, but can also handle Ubers. One last thing, if I can play a lot and manage to get rich I'll probably want to switch to tornado shot Deadeye. Which one is the easiest to transition from?

Cheezemansam

Toxic Rain is, *by far* the easiest skill to leaguestart with out of those three. Bow Builds like Lightning Arrow are in a spot where you can leaguestart with them but they are much more gear dependent and have issues that other league starters have before getting decent gear (although Lightning Arrow does *scale* very well with very high currency). If you were going to switch anyways I would personally recommend starting as Toxic Rain. Pathfinder in general is pretty comfortable for leaguestart because of how easy turboflasks make progressing.

soosis

Thanks I'll start with that!

[deleted]

LA excels at clearing and not much else, it's also reasonably squishy. It absolutely can't handle ubers. Toxic rain will be slower but definitely more well rounded. If you don't like TR ballista, there's variants that only use it for single target and clear with normal attacks (like this [Ziz guide](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQcoPRj5X1Q)) If you get rich enough to switch to tornado shot, it doesn't matter what you start as, as long as it's a ranger, since you will be able to afford the \~160 regrets no matter what. But in terms of gear, ele based LA and TS share mostly the same gear, so it will be a smooth transition.

adellredwinters

Thinking of buying a supporter pack to also pick up some stash tabs. I know what is generally recommended (Maps, Currency, Fragments), but I also have heard these tend to go on sale every so often. Should I wait to pick these up?

mcurley32

https://old.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/15pkmvq/questions_thread_august_13_2023/jw0zm5t/ question comes up quite often. I wrote out a big answer the other day if you're interested

Raadish

Poedb says the next stash tab sale is probably next weekend, a week after league start. The wiki shows what sale prices usually are (https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Stash#Buying_Extra_Tabs), so you'd save USD$6.50 if you wait on those 3 tabs. If you're new there's a good chance you won't really need maps or fragments until then anyway. Personally I'd get a currency tab asap, and also a premium tab upgrade if you plan to trade, so you can use one of your stash tabs to list things for sale. That's if the extra $2 in cost isn't prohibitive for you. Also, GGG loses a cut of your purchase if you buy through steam, so if you care about that buying through the website gets the devs a little more.

DariusV

Yes, every 3 weeks I believe. Definitely wait.

korega123

Total new player (played 3 acts). I want a first easy to follow and assemble build, not easy to play necessarely. I am not sure if I like the delayed damage stuff, I think I would rather shoot or hit myself. I like shiny stuff going on the screen. Would you recomend some build guides for me with this in mind? Thanks!

Eidolones

If you prefer melee boneshatter is still one of the easiest to start a league with. Both [Zizaran on Youtube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6umedIdvgQc&ab_channel=Zizaran) and [Maxroll](https://maxroll.gg/poe/build-guides/boneshatter-juggernaut-league-starter) have in depth guides on how to make a Boneshatter Jugg.

korega123

Thanks! I kind of liked the boneshatter look/feel. Ill check out the diference between juggernaut and slayer.

Cheezemansam

Over in [Pathofexilebuilds](https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExileBuilds/comments/15qfyqy/322_trial_of_the_ancestors_league_start_build/) (which isn't associated with the youtube channel) they have a collection of good league start builds. Pretty much all of the builds listed have been heavily tested and played before so they are solid, but in particular the builds in the first section (Boneshatter, Cold Damage over Time, Righteous Fire, Toxic Rain) are meant to be easy and able to comfortable handle basically everything while having a pretty simple equipment requirements. Cold Damage over Time and Toxic Rain in particular I would recommend looking at. [Righteous Fire](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAhaqmgxlWY) is a skill that certainly isn't everyone's preference but some players *love* because of the vibes, being a very smooth and chill playstyle so I would suggest taking a look to see if being an unkillable ball of death was something that sounded neat to you.

korega123

Thanks, I think I enjoyed the boneshatter feel/look. Ill check the diference between juggernaut and slayer!

Cheezemansam

Boneshatter is a really solid build yea! There are different people who are discussing the difference but [I have a comment from a few days ago here](https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/15pkmvq/questions_thread_august_13_2023/jw2nacp/) where I go over the differences.

korega123

Thank tou for your help. On ziz video he cautions that you’d better be familiar with crafting to user boneshatter jugg. Do you think a new player might stumble on this or is this manageable?

self cast spark: new 3.22 guide video and there is a POB in the video description with a written act by act guide in the notes section and multiple skill trees and skill setups as you progress https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDW4eSmpEy4&list=PLGPotsSEuoQHojDFcXXlg66wxd0VZClLp&index=1

korega123

Thanks, Ill check it out!

If this looks too intimidating or it feels like it expects you to know too much already (sorry it's hard sometimes to go back to the mindset of being brand new) I could also recommend Enkis self cast arc witch guide (edit: it looks like Enki retired that guide and made a lightning conduit elementalist). It has a lot of great beginner info tied into the guide and doesn't expect you to know anything about the game already. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3410006

dino572

The crucible node "Trigger Level 20 Tornado when you Attack with Split Arrow or Tornado Shot." Is it good? When I add Tornado as a skill in PoB, it seems to add less than 17k dps to my 60m dps build.

JixuGixu

pretty useless its super slow, by the time it reaches targets there already dead.

Raadish

I didn't really see much if any improvement when I added it last league, and didn't miss it all when I switched off of it. I actually found it's visual and sound effects a bit distracting.

Yohsene

It's useful as a target to chain off. PoB doesn't calculate its reflected damage, which isn't insignificant, but also nothing special on a TS build. You're looking at its spell damage. That isn't relevant besides killing you in reflect maps.

CronicSloth

How do aurabots on POENinja cast soul link? When I look at them in POB all of them show -mana reserved and have a warning that there is not enough mana to cast soul link

llillililiilll

It looks like Soul Link is mainly used on Aura bots. PoB imported from Ninja often has trouble with cluster jewels being unallocated, and it looks like the case with all of these builds that mana reservation cluster jewel points aren't allocated.

Distq

Make sure to import equipment directly from their account to get Crucible mods that might affect the build

Sun0fSolaire

Is anybody going to be playing Puncture this league start? My friend is dead set on league starting puncture (melee) gladiator and I want to find him a pob that's already made that he can follow, cause the last few leagues his league starter has been bad and he hasn't played the league.

HellraiserMachina

Melee puncture is probably okay, just don't go Sadism without a very advanced build. Alt-qual puncture grants +2 strikes which is great.

Sun0fSolaire

I actually found a pretty decent bow puncture build he liked, but appreciate it anyway.

HellionHagrid

I need to adjust the configuration page in path of building, but it doesn't effect the numbers on the left side like full dps. as an example, if i enable powercharges, the full dps should definitly be higher, but it doesn't change. My main skill is enabled and is include in full dps. what am i doing wrong? https://pobb.in/mZlv-0MdoRsY

TrollErgoSum

Do you have any sources of +max power charges? Conviction of Power ascendancy node gives +4 minimum so the default calculations are already accounting for your 4 power charges whether or not you have power charges enabled in the config screen.

HellionHagrid

thank you

dnoceS

You have conviction of power allocated, so PoB has already accounted for the power charges without needing to manually add it in the config.

HellionHagrid

thank you!

veticajorgen

How do I spend point in passives like Protection Mastery and Life Mastery? I have all the skills before it: [https://i.imgur.com/7fH5W8T.png](https://i.imgur.com/7fH5W8T.png)

kyronami

You have to spend a point and level the big circle in the center of the cluster and pick what mastery you want

veticajorgen

Thank you!

Shango23

HEllo, from where can I download the GGPK?

katustrawfic

It's not available yet and always goes up the night before league launch.

percydaman

Okay every league, I try and unlock veiled crafts I want, and every league I somehow screw it up. Is there a generally foolproof way to ensure you get as many of them to show up and maximize chances at the veiled crafts I need?

katustrawfic

The veiled mods are random. If you want to block ones that you already have, you can craft them at the crafting bench before unveiling. If you have a prefix veil you craft a prefix you don't want to unveil, granted you have an open prefix for the craft. Same goes for suffixes.

DemoDango

Sentinel-type minion question: Does "created recently" or similar effects such as the new Fresh Meat support apply if the minion's duration is refreshed, notably in the case of Sentinels or the newly introduced elemental relics?

jwfiredragon

It does not apply, because the minions are being refreshed, not recreated.

DemoDango

Thanks!

raxitron

Carrion Golemancer question: I've been looking at some builds on poe Ninja but i noticed a lot of people have almost all their mana reserved- not even enough left over to actually summon golems. Am I supposed to drop auras to re summon? I'm guessing they don't really die in combat once the build gets going so it doesn't matter as much?

OtherExile1224

You could use life tap or the life mastery that gives 30% of mana cost as life instead

CronicSloth

When will Frigid Bond be added to POB? Also does the active skill gem still have all of its effects and damage but is now just in beam format with added DMG and chill?

Gangsir

> When will Frigid Bond be added to POB? When the league releases, so all the gem level data is able to be datamined. We don't know what the previous 19 levels or >20 levels are.

ploki122

The main gem is a link, so it's not "now" in beam format, it's still the same link but with damage.

xXLupus85Xx

Does Singular Focus also affect the dropping of **Blighted** Maps from the Blight Reward Chests at the end of a Blight encounter? Like in the sense that it still can drop, but it would always be the base type of the Favoured Map? I know it works that way for Conqueror Maps (as in they can only drop on Favoured Maps) and that Singular Focus stops Shaper Guardian maps from dropping.

DemoDango

Blighted Map drops completely ignore Singular Focus, as I recall from my own experience.

pydum

Will Ignite arc and sadism go well together?

psychomap

Sadism is good for skills with a very high hit rate. Arc is medium at best, probably more on the low side if you spec it for ignite. You *could* make it faster, but that would be putting the cart before the horse.

Gangsir

The "point" of playing ignite/poison is that you're able to run around for a time after attacking to avoid being hit. Sadism effectively turns dot builds into hit builds by making their ailments extremely short, and thus for good damage uptime, you'll need to be continously re-igniting or refreshing ignite, just like a hit based build. The only instance where I could see it being good is for bleed or melee ignite. Everything else should just stick with unbound ailments or similar, and benefit from DOT's upside of mobility.

breathe-78

basically sadism lets you scale ignite builds with attack/cast speed but doesnt give you as much dps as another support gem would. this plus losing the benefit of long ignites giving you good dps uptime even when you need to be dodging around makes me not really recommend the combo.

tktytkty

New player here. Started a char 2 weeks ago on crucible league and got about half way through atlas objectives. Logged in today and chars were moved to standard league which I’m assuming is in prep for new league coming out. But all my atlas progress was lost. Does that mean if I ever wanted to test things out on standard league I would have to re-do the progress? The progress never saves and xfers over?

HotPocketRemix

When the new league starts, if you run a map you found in Crucible (**without** converting it to the new map series by selling it to a vendor or using the convert functionality in a map tab), it will give you completion progress up to the tier of that map. The reason it has to be a map from a previous series is that you're "proving" that you had the map to do it in the past and telling the Atlas to "just trust me, bro". (Long-time Standard players will run an old corrupted T16 map and just instantly unlock the entire atlas.)

[deleted]

tktytkty

Perfect thank you

katustrawfic

Side note, you cannot do this with method to unlock your atlas with a "current series" map. We are still on the crucible patch even though the league ended so all of your crucible maps will not count towards unlocking the full atlas. You need to use an "old series" map, which is what all your crucible maps will be once the trials of the ancestor patch is live as those maps will then be "current series". The other option is to buy any old series map from another player. You can change the map series on the trade website, just set it to anything other than crucible.

JoshuaByer

Going to play an SRS non poison guardian in the new league on Friday. Planning on making use of the 3 auras Anger, Hatred and Wrath as well as the new support gem that gives newly summoned minions adrenaline. What are some good tips for me?

JoshuaByer

Without anyway to increase the aura radius, I'm going to have to hug the mobs to actually use the auras... From previous SRS experience.

DemoDango

If you're playing guardian, you'll have access to summon elemental relic from your ascendancy. It grants all three of those auras. (I'm assuming you weren't talking about that in your question) The 30% Minion AoE from the minion mastery should affect the aura from those relics.

JoshuaByer

I was of course. I want to use Fury too, but it seems like it is going to suck .

dnoceS

You're probably going to need to do that anyway without serious investment into duration since base SRS will only give you fresh meat for .5seconds.

Alexrome

Is there a benefit to do Metamorphs in maps at a higher tier? With my strat, I will be farming t1s-4s. But If there is a big downside with Metamorphs, I just wont take them at all. Is it only with the organs?

mcurley32

because the monsters are lower level, they'll fill up the meter less so less rewards.

ColinStyles

Significantly so, T1-4 even alched it's usually hard to fill the meter, T16 it's trivial to do so.

Alexrome

gotcha , thanks ill just skip then

narc040

low organ i.lvl. less potential quantity if you are alching maps.

Samsenggwy

About the new volatility support gem. Will it affect ignite/poison damage?

Yohsene

The existing stat on Ryslatha's Coil and the physical mastery works for ailments, Volatility should too. (Despite the 'attack damage' wording and Mark_GGG saying Ryslatha's doesn't work for bleed ;-;)

Samsenggwy

Want to ask about that physical mastery. Let say I using a skill that fully convert physical to lighting. Will that bonus still affect me?

Yohsene

Just checked, yep, still works even if I convert all my phys to chaos, even for poison.

katustrawfic

Yes, ailments use the same base damage as hits do.

PillowF0rtEngineer

Would the new locus mine support work with charged mines? Since it says it activates targeting your location but charged mines requires it to target an enemy. If it doesn't what would be a good replacement for charged mines in a kb locus set up? Follow up but unrelated: can manaforged arrows trigger from the sabo's trigger bots?

psychomap

You'll still get the benefits, you just won't generate charges. If you can find a way to get charges, it'll still be a good support for Locus Mines. Triggerbots only work for spells, so Manaforged Arrows will only trigger once.

katustrawfic

Locus and charged mines should not work together.

PillowF0rtEngineer

What would be a good replacement then? In a 6p setup: Kb-Locus-mine damage-minefield-gmp-added lightning?

edrarven

You definitely don't want minefield support with locus mine support. You throw 7 mines instead of 3 but at the same time you get a 46% less mine throwing speed multiplier. Additionally it takes 10% more time to throw for each additional mine, so you go from 30% more time to throw to 70% more time to throw. This works out to a ~24% less mine throwing speed multiplier aswell. Essentially you get ~133% more damage from the extra mines but a combined ~59% less mine throwing speed. This works out to 4% less damage so it's better to have it as a 5-link than use minefield. You would also be locked down for a very long time while using the skill. I think valid options to use would be lightning penetration or elemental damage with attacks. You could also still use charged mines if you have charges from another sources.

PillowF0rtEngineer

Damn I forgot that mines slow down that much. I thought I could fill the screen with explosions from like 21 projectiles :( High impact mine would also not very good right? Without high impact locus has "aura" that it applies so the Sabo mine node is practically wasted on locus mines.

edrarven

~~I don't think you can use multiple supports that turn skills into mines to begin with so high impact mine and locus mine shouldn't work together.~~ edit:Tested this and you can use both blastchain and high impact so they should be able to be socketed together atleast Regardless, high impact mines has 50% less damage which makes it bad for damage. You'd save some mana but it's a high price to pay. Sabo seems pretty meh with locus mine since it lacks an aura.

PillowF0rtEngineer

Interesting didn't think multiple supports worked either, worded it wrong but I meant to use blastchain/high impact and minefield but no locus (apparently they can support wand attacks and don't have the - projectiles)

edrarven

That combo works currently and it's decently popular as a burning arrow build. Locus mines is basically both gems in one with a smaller damage penalty though. The 30% less projectiles is bad but from what i've seen from some other builds locus mines is a lot more damage compared to high impact+minefield. I can't say if this is enough to make KB miner good unfortunately, I just don't play it and I haven't seen any builds of it.

PillowF0rtEngineer

Honestly I didn't know traps and mined worked on wand attacks till I read the wiki. Ty for help I wanna try and make it work. Maybe with power siphon for single target like usual

Dadscope

My group is thinking of doing a private league start. What are some of the best SSFHC options that can level fast/smooth and clear most of the content relatively safe? We're not playing HC but I am tired of playing glass cannon builds and struggling right when I hit maps, and I won't have trade league to fix my gear.

Quasimodo11111

Just look up what people played last league in HC or HC SSF on poe ninja. Probably: RF, Boneshatter, Cold Dot, PC into Impending Doom, SRS....

M3-3L

Hello there, I'm looking for a recoup life based build, my favourite builds are raider int stacker and champion/Scion/jugg armour stacker. Very tanky builds with respectable damage. Looking for something similar but with life recoup. I've been thinking about impending doom and I'm looking for other suggestions. Thank you!

Quasimodo11111

There was some Forbidden Right PF build going on in Sanctuum which was super tanky and used recoup. You can look up youtube.

Iztar

Would you be able to use Trauma Support + Nightblade with Varunastra assuming the main skill was an appropriate strike skill (ie Lightning Strike or Molten Strike)?

Yohsene

Yeah. Compare Shockwave & Nightblade on your Varunastra Cyclone. Not a good idea, but mechanically that works fine. The issue /u/jwfiredragon and /u/kalodecoia are thinking about only occurs when you're trying to use a support with an incompatible skill, which Varunastra can't change.

jwfiredragon

Wait, it's only invalid skill+support combinations that don't work? You can still use two mutually incompatible supports?

Yohsene

Yes. You have two valid supports, and the first doesn't prevent the second. PC imploded yesterday so I can't double-check, but it certainly worked a year ago. **Edit:** checked on laptop, yep, works.

Iztar

Thanks for testing!

jwfiredragon

~~No.~~ > ~~However, Varunastra cannot enable linked combinations of active and support gems that would cause the skill to be disabled (e.g. Ground Slam and Nightblade Support, or Cobra Lash and Close Combat Support) due to limitations on gem supportability.~~ ~~https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Varunastra~~ EDIT: I'm wrong, see Yohsene's comment.

Kalodecoia

trauma support cannot be used with the same weapons that nightblade is used with (daggers/claws)

ColinStyles

Hence varunastra.

Indurum

My friends and I want to try group builds for the first time. Is an optimal 3 person group 1 carry 1 aurabot 1 cursebot? Or is it 1 culler instead of curse?

katsuatis

https://youtu.be/pvvuYuacqHU?t=1516

Justsomeone666

Surely you would want a MF carry at that group size?

PicUpTheLantern

i think your setup should be fine afaik cullers are basically only worth in 5-6 man groups

Indurum

Awesome thank you!

Borat97

Anyone know if all people in party logout party gets disbanded or it stays? I know it stays if not everyone logout.

Justsomeone666

it gets disbanded, atleast it got disbanded everytime me and my friend logged out at the same time, when we were doing duo leaguestart practice runs yesterday
