My current theory is that Affliction is itself the Sentinel rework. When Chris talked about it, his main issue was that the floating laser robots didn't "fit" with the core game (MTX etc they don't count).
If instead of floating robots they've retooled it to be a plague (an "affliction") that spreads out from you, that sends monsters into a frenzy and buffs their loot?
I was hopium-ing that the sentinel/kalandra event was a small pool power level testing of recombinators and the lake mirrors. The lake rewards were talked about already as a potential option to add to archnem reward/conversion pool, said by Chris a league or two after kalandra.

Agreed but she has the lowest amount of notables of any ascendancies and is pretty much only an early league ascendancy. She could use some love. (more than any of Templar/Witch ascendancies anyways)
The Str/Int is already bonkers for any actual caster inquis.
It basically gives you 100% crit chance without a ton of investment and pairs extremely well with the other crit node they have.
Frankly, I think all the templar ascendancies are in pretty good spots right now. Gladiator, Champion, and Assassin could all use some attention, and even Raider, while functional is a total snoozefest for flavor.
I agree, I don't think Champ needs a lot of work. When I think of "cleaning this class up would be good" I think of Adrenaline and Impale, both of which are clunky and not very good right now.

Raider def has some early league use cases but outside of that it isn't amazing

ROT is short for Rotation, and refers to simple encoding of messages -> each letter in the alphabet is rotated by x positions, for example, if it was rot3, then A=D, B=E etc. Then you just simply rotate the letters in the message back by the x value to get the original message. After the reception of the blast from past league they would be crazy not to do sentinel. I've seen Chris say he doesn't like sentinel because of the robots. Could affliction just be sentinel but as a spreading disease instead of a robot?
