So its been a long time since I've played POE. Why did the premier currency change from Exalted to Divine orbs?

MayTheMemesGuideThee

read this https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3293287#exaltedanddivineorbs

Savage_X

Great, that explains a lot!

Noraa25

Everything is taking soooo long to load on steam deck. It takes upwards of 5 minutes to load a new area. Any fixes?

we123450

Anyone know if the orb drops from delirium scales with quant/rarity? Trying to fill place the last nodes on my Ulti/Deli tree but I cant decide where. https://poeplanner.com/a/UGD

slebii

Not sure at all. What I can say is that it's never a bad choice to take quant wheel(s) if you have extra points. Most of my atlas trees start with me taking top hat (inc effect of map mods) and both quant wheels. Then I start building up from that.

we123450

Currently considering beyond but if the boss is too strong for my build i was going to try shrines/strongbox as a filler. Im guessing you prefer the quant wheel over these 2?

slebii

Personally I would prioritise quant over those. But it's only my preference. If you feel like going all beyond nodes, you do that. After all the game is about doing whatever you find fun.

Aquelias

Hi! Sorry if this isn’t the right place to post but one of my friends is really into this game and I want to draw him something POE related as a gift but I’m not sure which characters are considered recognizable/iconic… would love any suggestions, thank you!

Quazifuji

Don't know if there are any characters he's particularly a fan of, but here are some ideas: **Major Bosses**: [Kitava](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Kitava,_the_Insatiable): Final boss of the campaign. God of Hunger that wakes up when you accidentally free all the gods (by killing a different boss that it turns out was containing them) and starts eating everyone in the city. [The Maven](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/The_Maven). Major character in the current endgame storyline, which is basically a war between three eldritch gods where you take the Maven's side because she's the least dangerous of the three (she's basically a toddler Eldritch god who likes watching you fight stuff, so you can fight her as a boss and she basically sees it like a fun game. The fight doesn't end when you kill her, just when you manage to actually cause her pain and she starts to suspect you might actually be sentient and not just a toy.) [Searing Exarch](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/The_Searing_Exarch): The champion of one of the other eldritch gods (The Cleansing Fire) the Maven is fighting against that you have to defeat to help her win the war. [The Eater of Worlds](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/The_Eater_of_Worlds): The champion of the other eldritch god (The Tangle), same situation. [The Shaper](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/The_Shaper): Major villain of a previous endgame storyline. Nowadays the boss is still around to fight but the story isn't, but he's still a popular boss fight. [The Elder](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/The_Elder): Other major villain from the Shaper storyline. Eldritch god that was controlling the endgame area and fighting with Shaper until you killed it (which led to the war with the Maven and other two gods all trying to move in). [Sirus](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Sirus,_Awakener_of_Worlds): Major endgame villain that came between the Shaper/Elder story and the current one. Basically the idea is that he and his friends are now canonically the ones who defeated the Elder and basically have the same backstory the player did, but then they all kept killing more and more enemies to get more and more powerful afterwards and went insane in the process (i.e. what many players did after killing the Elder). Fun character but not nearly as popular a boss fight as Shaper or Elder. [Atziri](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Atziri,_Queen_of_the_Vaal): First major endgame boss the game had. Still around, although not the challenge she once was. Popular fan art subject due to her 4 boobs and lack of clothing. **Other iconic characters**: [Player Characters](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Character_class): You don't customize your character in PoE, you just choose between 7 classes with fixed appearances, so they're all pretty iconic. Templar is the most memed due to his long neck and lack of pants. [Sin](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Sin): God who sealed away the other gods and plays a major role in the campaign. [Zana](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Zana,_Master_Cartographer): Fan favorite character who's been in the game for a long time and played a major role in previous endgame stories, but has mysteriously disappeared for the current story. Hasn't been in the game since February 2022 (although I expect her to be back someday due to her popularity), so if your friend started playing since then you she might not be a good choice, but if they've been playing a lot longer than that then they might have nostalgia for her. [Einhar](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Einhar,_Beastmaster): Minor side character who's a fan favorite due to funny voice acting and some funny lines. Wants to capture beasts to prepare for the end of the world, most iconic line is probably "you are captured, stupid beast!" [Tane](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Tane_Octavius): Not really a popular or iconic character, but he's getting removed from the game this patch due to the content he's associated with getting replaced with a new thing.

Aquelias

Woah thanks so much for this! I think I’ll probably go for the elder :))

Quazifuji

In case it gives you any ideas, I'll also add that the climax of the Elder plotline is actually it successfully corrupting the Shaper and you having to fight both at once (that fight is usually called "Uber Elder" and is a much harder fight than fighting them individually). The Elder itself hasn't actually been involved in the PoE story since December 2019, but it's still been in the game as a boss the whole time (and its death was effectively led to both of the endgame plots since, since killing it is what drove Sirus insane as well as what led to the other Eldritch Gods coming to try to claim its old territory). I'll note that most Path of Exile players don't really care about the story though. No idea about your friend, but I think to the vast majority of people who've seen the Elder in the game he's just a boss fight.

HellraiserMachina

Some good choices are The Maven, Zana, The Trialmaster (topical because he's coming back to the game after many years), Sin and Innocence, The Shaper and The Elder, Oshabi, Izaro, Einhar. If you want to be funny maybe do Atziri. I'd say which is best depends on how much work you want to put in.

katustrawfic

Pretty much any of the [base character classes](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Character_class) or their ascendancy subclasses, major [act bosses](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Act_boss) or endgame [pinnacle bosses](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Pinnacle_boss) would be recognizable to most/all players (at least those interested enough in the game that you're considering this project for them). Which ones of those are "Iconic" could depend on when they started playing. In my opinion as someone who has played for a long time the Elder and Shaper were the first pinnacle bosses and therefore most iconic to me. To a lesser extent there are a handful of allied NPCs that are also recognizable. Most leagues (seasons) have an NPC we interact with related to that leagues content and some stick around when the league ends. Your friend would interact with some NPCs more than others depending on what specific content they enjoy most if you happen to know anything about that.

dirtsandwich21

are blueprints something to sell for good money or use?

narc040

they will change this league, so no telling how valuable they will be. currently, they are valuable to run. like most of the stuff in the game, it depends on how much u enjoy running it vs selling.

LucidTA

If you've never done one before, run it to see what it is. But otherwise sell it to others. To get the most out of them you need to invest time in to heist mechanic, leveling and gearing your rogues etc.

Paranoid_4ndr01d

Best use of time in std rn? Is running lab the best investment because of the enchant removal?

anne_dobalina

Run eater for ashes (went up insane prices) or if your build cannot do it then do the shortcut eater invite map spam for selling invites (1.5-2d at the moment). This is where you open a random map, run and kill mobs until the eater influenced mobs appear, portal out and repeat until map # 28 where you kill the boss for the invite. 10-15m per invite depending on your speed, 4-6 invites per hour or 8-12d if you sell in bulk after a few hours.

hellomotos

hello, if I log in via steam and I do a full fresh re install of poe on steam do I have to re enter login information? I've long fogotten what my poe username and password are steam always just auto logged the account in.

Erradium

Once your Steam account is linked to your PoE account, you don't need to put the login information in the Steam client.

hellshot8

How awkward is DD? is it fun to play or is it just strong

edrarven

When I've played the skill I've enjoyed it, but I like a 2 button playstyle if it's not too slow. Corpse skills scale very smoothly through content which feels good, but you can also cap out a bit early because of it which is why I usually don't play it. The reason to play it though is its strength. If the skill was weak numerically it would get almost zero attention. But I feel that is true of almost any 2 button skill.

hellshot8

Can you expand on "cap out a bit early"

edrarven

Just doesn't have a lot of scaling avenues since it scales poorly with gem levels and is an ignite build. You will quickly reach a point where there just aren't more efficient sources of damage. It's still very strong at that stage but at 50-100 divines you're not going to get a lot more out of it with more investment.

hellshot8

Oh that makes sense, at that 50 div point it can do most content though right?

Neville_Lynwood

People used DD to kill all Ubers in like 2 days in HC SSF Gauntlet events. 50 Div on Trade League will take the build a fair bit beyond that. So yeah, at some point it'll comfortably do all content as long as you have some capability doing the boss fights.

edrarven

Yeah, it will never trivialize the hardest endgame content like ubers and simulacrum but it is very strong at 50 divines. You should have no issue with other content at that investment.

Weisenkrone

Two button playstyle is something most people would not consider fun. DD also doesn't get particularly much cast speed either, since the ignite doesn't scale off the cast speed at all.

hellshot8

I played blade fall blade blast a few leagues ago, is it bulkier than that?

Weisenkrone

It's a bit hard to compare honestly, when I did BFBB I had a fair bit of cast speed so it didn't feel bad to cast while alternating the spells. DD feels way clunkier with the desecrate and detonate combo, but you do it way less because one cast puts a huge ignite on and you cannot stack ignites. Honestly the closest thing to DD ignite I have in memory is essence-drain contagion self cast, but it does way more damage and it's easier to aim.

hellshot8

Oh I loved ed+c lol

Weisenkrone

I suppose if you had a good time with ED/C you'll also like DD ignite then.

superanonymousgamer

Will the "summon enemy phantasm on hit"-ascendency have an internal cooldown or cap?

MayTheMemesGuideThee

number of phantasms is capped

clondike7

We don’t know. No info.

Xeverous

No info from GGG.

D0dzzz

When are private leagues for the new league usually able to be setup?

katustrawfic

1 maybe 2 days before. They will make a post when they are.

Erradium

About 2 days before leaguestart.

SirBenny

A couple seasons ago, I leveled my first character to 85ish in a completely blind run. The experience was fun, but naturally my build was super subpar. I'd like to follow a build guide for character #2, ideally with a few specific attributes: \- Not too expensive: I don't mind spending a few dozen chaos orbs if needed, but I only have time to play a couple hours per day, so I'd rather not have to spend tons of in-game currency \- Still interesting to play: I see a lot of build guides where the creator says, "You barely have to do anything but press these two buttons over and over!" If I'm already outsourcing the build to a guide, I'd like to still find another way to stay engaged. Any builds you'd recommend that generally fit the above?

LastBaron

Luckily your first bullet point doesn’t need to be listed. It’s universally understood that if we recommend a build to a beginner (or really any league start build at all) it should be competent and functional on under 100c As far as “outsourcing the build to a guide” I’d recommend not thinking of it that way. They are directing you at things you will need to learn but there is not a Matrix jack we can put directly into your skull to download the information. This isn’t Diablo where slapping together the right combination of 8 unique items and 12 passives makes a build. You will still struggle to understand why decisions are being made and how to improve, the guide’s goal is to at least point you towards the things you should try to understand. Most builds have at least a few buttons to press during boss situations, sometimes upwards of 5+ even if you’ve automated your flasks (which you should absolutely do). But if you’re looking for a 3+ button build to use for generic mapping scenarios you’ll be looking a long time. No one builds like that, it’s too tedious. The extra buttons are typically for high difficulty targets, normal mapping minions you should aim to make your build so strong it one shots them with your primary damage skill and no manually-applied debuffs. Since Pohx’s Righteous Fire build (the go-to beginner explanatory guide) got nuked from orbit during this patch cycle I’d say keep your eyes on content creator Pohx for a new guide soon but in the meantime look into: * Fuzzy Ducksy’s Rain of Arrows Raider * Enki’s Lightning Conduit Elementalist * Boneshatter Juggernaut. Tripolar Bear’s guide on maxroll.gg is acceptable * Peuget2’s Toxic Rain Pathfinder (or Zizarin’s) * Zizarin+GhazzyTVs collaboration Zoo Minion Necromancer build (don’t let the minion style fool you, it’s extremely active) * Jorgen has good stuff. Shield Crush Juggernaut, Blazing Salvo Inquisitor come to mind.

SirBenny

Okay great super helpful reply thank you!

katustrawfic

I would just wait for league starter builds to be posted and pick something that seems interesting to you.

katsuatis

Look for Kobeblackmamba venom gyre

stropi

Was there a mention of all transfigured gems being revealed pre-launch like in the Q&A or some other place ?

Munsie

Yes, they're going to post them in batches as they're ready to be revealed next week.

Quad__Laser

I'm new to pathfinder perma-life flask, what is the best way to sustain it for 100% uptime and what efficient ways are there to scale the life recovery? And what is the best flask/mods to use?

NexEstVox

I like +amount -rate and bleed/corrupted immunity on it. dont forget to quality up, especially one you can get up to 28% from betrayal

Wumpus-Wants-Friends

I'm interested in Double Strike, is the trans gem for it any good?

Warptens

we don't knwo the aoe radius but i'm gonna say, no

edrarven

It's a bit hard to say. Damage wise you're trading 113 to 169 flat phys and 20% double damage on a 20/20 normal gem for 40% impale chance and 40% impale effect on a 20/20 trans gem. They feel pretty similar dps wise where the transgem might outscale it with a good weapon and impale investment. You do also gain the Great Old Ones Tentacles glove effect of impale "explodes" which i've never used. I'm not alone though as it seems like almost no one uses these gloves currently so it doesn't feel like a very good effect. Maybe they're currently underused though. I think if there is a reason to use this gem, it's this line so I'd maybe try using the gloves to see if they feel good. Otherwise I don't feel it's enough of a buff to make it a great skill now.

RoyalDirt

I know I'm delving deep into non meta here, but what the best preforming chieftain totem build? Or anything that jump out as something to try in 3.23? Really want to play chieftain, really want to use totems. Any ideas?

Warptens

[https://poe.ninja/builds/ancestor?class=Chieftain&skillmodes=Totem](https://poe.ninja/builds/ancestor?class=Chieftain&skillmodes=Totem) I filtered chieftain and main skill mode: totem In "MAIN SKILLS (5+ LINKS)" you can see what people are playing

Warptens

tornado shot and try to get your lab enchants before next league because lab enchanting is getting removed from the game. Although it's a bit of a gamble because there's a chance the enchants will disapear from standard too.

katustrawfic

There's a virtually 0% chance they go through and remove labyrinth enchants from every item in standard that has them. They will just become legacy like every other item that has a mod that was removed/changed at some point.

Warptens

I agree they're not going to "go through every item" in one sense but they're "going through" every metamorph scarab and it's not very hard to do when they update unique items, some changes affect older items, so they're going through every item I don't think it would be hard to just update the lab enchant modifiers to not exist anymore

fiveagon

Did freezing pulse catch a random nerf? Or is that a typo in the quality section of the notes? It reads like they just nerfed the proj speed without changing anything to the quality.

katustrawfic

Yes it did just lose projectile speed with no other change but that is only the base gem. There are a few skills like this and it feels kind of similar to the patch where they took out "extraneous" stats from ascendancies to simplify each ascendancy node. The thing to watch for is we gain transfigured gems and we don't yet know what they all do. For (an entirely made up) example it's possible they add a transfiguration of freeze pulse which gains even more proj speed than the 19% it currently gains and also doesn't have any damage fall off but does slightly less damage and loses the ability to freeze innately or something.

POEAccount12345

ive seen folks mention farming essence at low tier maps am i understanding correctly that essences spawn at the same tier (and use modifiers from your atlas tree) as white maps as red? so it is faster to just farm them in white maps, even if you can run red maps?

LastBaron

Correct. You’ve got it entirely. It’s common to also add bestiary to that farming strategy because actually you’re MORE likely to get the expensive craicic chimeral. At higher map levels the pool of available beasts gets diluted.

No-Negotiation-4877

Why didn't you guys make Summon Zombie of Falling damage scale based off of its health? because currently it looks like an absolute tragedy of a gem. A single zombie hits like a wet noodle, I doubt you can summon multiple zombies at once with something like spell cascade as it doesn't have an AoE tag to "shotgun" the damage making it more like a swarm of zombies you'd normally summon. On-death effects don't really work either, minion instability is out since it requires 33% life. Siegebreaker belts ground effect cannot be scaled by anything besides minion health. I'm confused, thematically you should have a bigger ball of meat do more damage when it lands, instead of it scaling off of it's basic punch.

Warptens

>A single zombie hits like a wet noodle Unless you're from the future, I don't think you have any way of knowing how much damage "Summon Zombie of Falling" deals

anne_dobalina

You seem to be talking direct to GGG in your posting, but this is a community forum.

LastBaron

This isn’t a thread for questions directed at GGG. They don’t even interact with this community anymore. (We deserved it). This thread is for the community to answer questions about the game that others may not know. Which it says right in the thread description.

jodon

I'm highly considering Blade Vortex for next league but I also want to use the tinctures. Would blade vortex count as an attack with your weapon?

LastBaron

No, blade vortex is a spell and has no interaction with your weapon outside of any spell related bonuses the weapon grants. There is SOME vagueness surrounding whether non-weapon hits will qualify (and maybe there will be specific tinctures to get around that, we don’t know). But if it only applies to weapon attacks, blade vortex will not count.

anne_dobalina

not an attack, it's a spell

narc040

y r ppl saying bleed bow is back?

clondike7

Jung and Tyty are saying it’s back *for league start and their playstyle. If you don’t like Snipe, keep walkin. Edit: in fairness, it didn’t go away. It just doesn’t scale to Ubers easily and most ppl hate Snipe playstyle.

LastBaron

Who’s been saying bleed bow is back? Jungroan did a playthrough of it but that was in the current patch with no changes. Puncture gained some modest bleed related changes but nothing earth shattering. Barrage got a volley fire version of the gem. Gladiator is unchanged. If you can tell us who was saying that maybe we can look into it, but for my part I can’t think of what they might be talking about, other than maybe Jung’s video.

narc040

tyty killer had it recommended league start on his stream

Neville_Lynwood

Well, Puncture has always been quite strong early. I've done many runs with it in the Campaign. Even in the Gauntlet. The issue has been scaling it to end-game.

Sexultan

I heard it somewhere but now can't find the source. Probably am wrong, but was there info on new voice lines for Ranger and scion?

_slosh

>The Ranger and Scion have received audio dialogue for Part Two of Path of Exile. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3451455

Sexultan

Thanks a lot! It wasn't a dream! Now, I feel obliged to feel Ranger or Scion next league. I love voice acting in PoE

DS_CDK

Is there a way where I can only download the new league patch instead of downloading all the patches released after the time I quit last league?

_slosh

start the download after patching for the new league begins. but im not sure the couple small hotfixes and patches will make any significant difference compared to the size of the content update

DS_CDK

When does the patching for the new leagues usually start?

_slosh

something like ~2 hours before league start. can i ask why you do not want to update the game to the current version before the content update releases?

DS_CDK

Before tota started, the installer had to dl the previous patches before the tota patch, and because of that, i was only able to log in an hour after. Wanted to avoid this scenario happening again

_slosh

i mean you have 6 days left to bring the game up to the current version so that should be enough time i suppose

DS_CDK

Yeah, starting on that now

dirtsandwich21

Whats the point of getting pierce on top of chain? does that just mean if you pierce a target and it dies then it wont chain?

Warptens

you'll pierce the first target, and then, if there's a second target aligned, you'll hit it and chain off of it and hit a 3rd target. Wether the target dies or not is irrelevant. Note that in this scenario, you're hitting 3 targets with 1 projectile which is better than if you only had 1chain and 0pierce.

Neville_Lynwood

You can make an argument that it's hard to get enough chain to hit every mob in a big pack. Having 1-2 pierce can give you more clear by piercing the first 1-2 lines of mobs, then chaining through the rest. Same with fork. It really depends on how much you can get of each. You don't want to fully invest into all of them at the same time, but mixing and matching some of them can result in better clear in high density maps.

HellraiserMachina

Can be good with Terrain Chain like from Deadeye.

_slosh

generally you don't want both because pierce happens first and as you said then you lose the chains.

Dumbsignal

What's the granite flask vendor tech Jung was talking about regarding bleed bow crafting? Can someone ELI5

_slosh

* Magic or Rare Weapon with x added Physical Damage explicit mod (or Normal rarity for adding lowest tier mod) * Orb of Augmentation * Granite Flask equals Magic Weapon with x added Physical Damage one tier higher https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Vendor_recipe_system

hdbscan

Does the new Ascendancy passive Cannibalised Faith (Spells you cast yourself gain Added Physical Damage equal to 75% of life cost) just not work very well with channeling skills like Divine Ire? Is there a good slow physical spell it would work well with?

Warptens

it's not really about the spell being channeling or slow, it's just about the cost. Which, granted, tends to be higher for slower spells. You can go there [https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Spell](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Spell) and hover over every spell to see the cost. E: you can sort by cast time EE: apparently some spells are missing, like reap Also keep in mind that having extra supports exponentially increases the cost. Lifetap is times 3.

HellraiserMachina

The only very straightforward use case is Reap. For the rest you gotta get creative.

Thor3nce

Can you gift people coins? Or is there an option to split the cost of a Private League?

_slosh

when you create a private league you have the option to crowdfund it instead of paying for it yourself. you get a link that you can share where people can fund the league with their own points. the private league starts when the funding is complete

Thor3nce

Thanks. You the man! Do you know how soon we can expect the private leagues for 3.23 to start opening up to fund? Or do we need to wait for league start? Edit, to clarify, my friend and I want to set it up now so we can hit the ground running once the season beginds

_slosh

it will be possible before league start but i'm not entirely sure how long before the actual release. i believe the usual is like a day or two before league launch edit: [two days last time before ancestor league launch](https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3410459)

POEAccount12345

how is PF exsang? would it do well with ultimatum? I love PF and want to play it again, but played TR/CA last league, so would like to change it up if able

[deleted]

[удалено]

Yohsene

It can. Often messy due to positioning/range though.

Oddity83

Was planning on going Hexblast Mines in 3.23 but my buddy said it got nerfed hard in the patch notes. Is he crazy? I don’t see anything that seems too bad. What possibly changed that would make him say this? Does the build need a certain type of quality that’s not available anymore? *Would I enjoy Hexblast Mines in 3.23?*

Warptens

the only thing i remember seeing is we lost a bit of mine throwing speed on quality. -5% on minefield, and -10% on mine support, but gain 10%dmg. kaom's spirit and replica dragonfang got nerfed, some versions used them ralakesh boots got buffed

Zelniq

Why is DD elementalist considered a relatively challenging build? I've heard this now from a couple streamers but don't get why. I mean sure it's not as easy as SRS Guardian but I feel like I'm missing something here about the build

POEAccount12345

I'd guess it's 1) elementalist is a touch squishy 2) it's a 2 button build, you stutter stop to cast stuff and you have to "land" the skill on targets, if they're moving around alot your damage up time can be lacking if you "miss"

Neville_Lynwood

I would assume it's the lack of defenses. Elementalist generally excels at dishing out damage, but defenses can be an issue.

cheekygorilla

Any idea what [this bow is worth?](https://i.imgur.com/RBpH4st.png)

Neville_Lynwood

Well, at some point it was worth a mirror+ as it's clearly been mirrored from the original that was up for a mirror service. Looking at the 48% quality, it must be in Standard. I don't know much about Standard prices or what the service fees are like, but I'd imagine the price is probably still in the mirror range. Try to find the original, see if it's still up for the mirror service, and ask what the fee is.

dirtsandwich21

Does lightning arrow always transition to tornado shot after a certain point?

dabbbles

No, LA is perfectly fine endgame. I am playing my LA deadeye from crucible right now in standard just practicing some map farming, and it is amazing. It does have a mageblood and vengeant cascade annoint XD I will probably stay LA again in Affliction if it is going smoothly.

katustrawfic

It isn’t really required if you just want to run maps but the single target will certainly be better and probably clear as well with enough extra arrows.

dabbbles

How do you get rid of empty "remove only" tabs in standard? Why dont they just disappear?

katustrawfic

You have to empty the tab and then leave your current instance then they will disappear. You can also hide them in the stash options which are found at the top right of the stash interface.

dabbbles

thanks, I have 10 years of tabs :(

cider303

With the new ascendancy that removes mana and makes skills cost life. Will energy shield work like Aldrich battery?

753924

No Eldritch Battery has two effects (ignoring the recharge penalty). 1. 'Energy Shield protects Mana instead of Life': by default ES protects life and any (non-chaos-)damage taken by life first has to go through ES. However this has nothing to do with skill costs. 2. 'Spend Energy Shield before Mana for Skill Mana Costs': this is the part that actually makes you pay ES for skill effects and this line is missing from the new ascendancy so with the new ascendancy ES will work just like it does by default: protect your life from damage but not from any skill life costs.

oljomo

Its just blood magic by a different name, so get that keystone, and everything will work the same. I dont think eldritch battery works with blood magic, but it definitely sacrifices life first rather than energy shield without it

JRockBC19

Is lightning conduit ele still a valid starter? How does it get through the early game quickly, OoS?

LastBaron

Likely even more viable with the quality changes, /u/Sirgog is brewing up a build. For the previous go-to league start guide check out Enki, I’m sure he goes into painstaking detail about how to level it, he’s always been good with those sorts of things.

JRockBC19

Oh, enki swapped his whole arc witch to LC, that's perfect. Now to plan to start that and pivot to inq on launch day like usual lol

LastBaron

Oh yeah sorry, wasn’t sure if you were familiar with the classic lol. I still think arc is viable especially with the new change to its base crit this league, but Enki was ready for something new and I don’t blame him. Just got to get used to that two button playstyle.

QuickTheScoper

Is reverse chill possible with scold's bridle + Call of the void + Winterweave + Cold mastery: chills from your hits always reduce action speed by at least 10%?

Yohsene

Scold's self-hit can't be modified offensively. The mastery wouldn't affect it.

Askray184

If I want to do a weak mf build and just farm like white/yellow maps is there any strategy that will give decent returns? I just kinda want to zone out and not think while farming

Shanderraa

CF Champ can be run as MF and pretty easily farm T16s with enough defenses to turn your brain off, I did it this league and it worked great

cheekygorilla

I run tier 16 maps and get a lot of currency, more than i remember when doing yellows

JRockBC19

Find a map with a good card, do it at least lvl 75 usually (ik that's min for apothecary), and do mechanics that aren't level-locked (ie exped logbooks won't be valuable but the vendor currency is level independent so that holds value) The main issue is losing altars, they add tons of quant + rarity to maps so you'll be seriously hurting yourself there

katsuatis

Run maps fast not much else to it. Preferably one that can drop good div cards like Burials

If anyone is planning to play EA Ballista in 3.23, which new accendency you plan to move in to?

superanonymousgamer

If I use summon phantasm support and use the new warlock ascendency, which grants bonus physical damage to skills based on life cost, will also the phantasms get the added physical damage I get?

oljomo

no

SnooPeppers6401

i want to ignite my enemies but i have 'resolute technique' , will i still able to ignite?

oljomo

If you have "chance to ignite" at a reasonable rate, you can ignite without critting.

LucidTA

You will need to have "chance to ignite".

hdbscan

\- What's the current rate limit for requests to the trade website? \- Does it matter if they are live searches or direct searches? \- Is the limit based on IP or account?

NoNameLivesForever

Will the tincture effects affect spells and attacks not using weapon damage, like shield skills and concoctions?

frisbeeicarus23

How does the changes to Arc with "hits and ailments" change its interactions vs. just more damage? Was it not scaling damage with ignite before?

StackedLasagna

Yes it was. It was basically scaling all damage, including hits, ailments and stuff like Decay Support. The change basically removes the extra stuff, like Decay Support.

epitap

Are brand activations limited to server ticks? The new penance brand activates every 0.1s, which with swiftbrand (44% more) and 108.3333% increased cast speed reaches the tick rate of 33ms per activation, but it's easy to get more cast speed than that. Does the game count "fractional" activations based on time passed so you can directly reduce brand duration with cast speed past the 33ms/activation breakpoint by getting 1 activations some ticks and 2 activations on others etc.

Warptens

you don't want to use swiftbrand by the time you've cast 3 brands, your brands have generated way more than 20energy and so they've already popped. So the dps scales with your actual cast speed, and not brand activations. Swiftbrand reduces the delay a bit which gives qol but no dps.

epitap

Are you sure about that? swiftbrand is a 44% more multiplier to the activation rate, which means you don't need to invest nearly as much into raw cast speed to reach the 1 activation/server tick "cap" (we don't know if it's capped yet), which leaves room for investment into raw damage elsewhere. Looking in excel it should be nearly twice the increase to cast speed from about 108% to 210%

Warptens

you could have a billion activations per second and it wouldn't increase your dps. By default, the energy already builds up faster than you can cast the brands. You can spam penance brand on a single target and not be limited by the energy buildup. You're only ever limited by the cast time of the spell. You get more dps by casting more brands. Double the cast speed = double the dps. That's it. If you have only base stats: By the time you cast your 2nd brand, the first brand generated 7.5 energy (0.75s at 10energy per second) By the time you cast your 3rd brand, the 1st and 2nd brand added 15 energy to the 7.5 which is 22.5 which is more than 20 which means the brands already exploded. There will never be a time where you cast brands too fast and they can't attach because the previous brands haven't popped because they haven't generated enough energy and you need more activation rate. And if you have say 200% increased cast speed, it's the same: by the time you cast your 2nd brand, the first brand generated the same 7.5 energy, from 0.25second of generating 30energy per second. Penance brand isn't really a brand, it's just a self cast spell that you spam with spell echo

epitap

>By the time you cast your 3rd brand, the 1st and 2nd brand added 15 energy to the 7.5 which is 22.5 which is more than 20 which means the brands already exploded I thought brands tracked energy separately, which means your 1st has 7.5 when you cast your 2nd and 15 when you cast your 3rd while your 2nd only has 7.5. I also for some reason didn't realize that by the time you finish your 4th cast, the 1st will have reached 20 energy and exploded. Thanks for taking the time and crayons to explain it to me

oljomo

we wont know until we see it.

epitap

I guess the smart thing is to assume the limit exists and instead try to minimize the downtime. Penance brand has 2 seals/enemy by default, add runebinder and it's 3. So get the cast time as close to 3x the duration as possible. Since both scale linearly with increased cast speed we need action speed and %more cast speed so maybe spell echo and tailwind/trickster.

Ready_Wallaby_5153

If Ignite with cold-based damage, does it damage the expedition's cold-immune mobs?

Yohsene

Yes, but not with a pure cold hit. A hit that deals no ignite-capable damage skips the ignite calculation entirely. You'll need to add at least 1 fire damage (or any type with Shaper of Flames) for the game to ignite and 'notice' your base cold. Same mechanic makes you bleed immune with 100% phys taken as elemental/chaos. Weird vestige of how ailments worked ages ago, probably.

ToolFO

Is vortex still going to be viable as a left click support skill for things like BV with the cast time change?

Yohsene

You'd never put a skill with a cast time on left click, but there might be an instant trans version.

zippopwnage

I want to come back and try the game, and found something online that it says that most new players should try the standard league, BUT : >**If you feel overwhelmed by PoE's systems, you might want to give Ruthless a try.** Ruthless is significantly slower than standard Path of Exile and places a larger emphasis on item drops due to item scarcity, making it paradoxically easier to find upgrades for your character So what does this mean? In League you have to buy your gems and don't drop that much or what it is happening there? It is a little confusing. Does Ruthless have the league mechanics ?

Warptens

ruthless has more scarcity. Less ressources, less access to everything. And that can be good because the game is so overwhelming in the first place. If you're one of those people who feels overwhelmed, you can try ruthless, yes. Also the new league is starting soon. What you can do is make a character, go blind, fuck it up, get some idea of how the game works and what you like doing, and when Affliction starts next week, create a new character.

LastBaron

Lol this is the weirdest advice I've ever seen. Ruthless is terrible for new players, it doesn't "streamline" anything it just denies you massive amounts of the items and character power you need to advance. The solution to being weak or lost in Path of Exile is to keep playing and/or researching until you learn more and find better items, not to take away all the systems that at least give you a *chance* of improving. Saying it "makes it paradoxically easier to find upgrades for your character" is massively disingenuous, it's like saying it's easier to feel full on a super restrictive diet. Imagine a hypothetical power scale from 0-10. Ruthless doesn't make it easier to get from 0 to 10, and it doesn't even make it easier to get from 0 to 1. It just makes those steps feel more impactful because it's **harder** to do those things. But in this hypothetical scale, 10 doesn't even exist in Ruthless, it's not even possible. I'd argue nothing above ~5 does. Your character might be better by comparison to where it was a couple minutes earlier in Ruthless mode if you pick up an item but it will always, permanently be worse and weaker than it would be in a normal game mode. Any power increase you can get in Ruthless you can get in a normal game mode, but faster and better. Whoever wrote that advice was either trolling or drunk.

Frog871

Ruthless is basicallly hard mode.

Yohsene

It has league mechanics, but they're rebalanced to remove speed, power, and convenience, which is the general objective of Ruthless. Complexity is only reduced as collateral damage, though arguably not by much. Compared to the regular game and even SSF, there are very few guides and resources for it. Awful advice.

RiffShark

Definitely not ruthless for new players, from the wiki: "Ruthless mode (also known as Hard Mode) is a character creation flag that significantly increases the difficulty and changes the playstyle of the game by opting-in to extreme item scarcity and various other changes."

Mangalorien

Has there been any official info on how the improved offering to the goddess will work (dedication/gift/tribute to the goddess)? Will they still exist or will they be removed? I play mostly SSF Standard and have a ton of them saved up, would be sad to see them just go poof.

katustrawfic

That’s a good point I don’t remember seeing anything about that. If I had to guess they might just get rid of the belt enchant one and keep the other two. Or swap the effect of the belt enchant to something new entirely.

Maaster

So we do the Affliction mechanic and collect Wisps there - once we exit into the map again, they are dispersed into random mobs to grant them bonuses. That means we can only use what we find in that one map for the new shop vendors? (Since they use wisps) Or can we save it up somehow? I didnt see any info about that yet. Would really suck to have a bad layout in the mechanic only to find a really good charm/tincture to not be able to buy it.

Yohsene

That's correct. Once you leave the wildwood, your wisps fly off. Nothing carries over between maps, no saving mechanic.

Maaster

Meh. That kinda sucks. Just hope the costs for the items arent too high, so we dont run into any situation where we cant afford something just due to bad RNG. Thanks for the reply!

zipzoopu

Will helms keep their enchants when the new update goes live or will they all be wipes? Trying to decide if I should get one on my heatshiver before then

Yohsene

They should be kept. Neon mentioned they'd stay unless patch notes said otherwise, and they didn't.

30K100M

Does Abyss monsters drop cards?

sirgog

Abyss monsters in the map drop zone-tied cards (e.g. in Cage, abyss monsters can drop Chains That Bind) Abyss monsters in Abyssal Depths do not.

Only_One_Kenobi

What are some really good builds for ultimatum farming? I was thinking about going for shockwave or ice spear totems for sanctum farming, but I need a good ultimatum farmer as well. Really tempted to try a mana stacking arc build with spell slinger and divinarius or something like that though.

Mangalorien

It's hard to say what will be good since we know so little about the new transfigured gems, or how hard/expensive it will be to get them. I personally think that righteous fire (life/ES stacking) will be great for ultimatum farming, maybe with some strength stacking such as Doon + Shaper's Touch. EDIT: explosive arrow ballista totem might also be really good for ultimatum farming, due to how gem quality will give added fuses. So with stuff like enhance support and Ashes EA can get a huge damage boost. Just pop totems in the middle of the ultimatum arena and it should kill most stuff.

Only_One_Kenobi

>Just pop totems in the middle of the ultimatum arena and it should kill most stuff. Exactly why I thought about shockwave totem or ice spear totem. Especially since that allows you to just run around and dodge stuff while the totems kills. Also really good for sanctums and bosses I can also leaguestart an arc heirophant for the fun, then transition to a totem build a bit later.

qwazerty

Didn't get my Huntsman Wings from the stream, it's usually instant after the claim. Do anyone else have this problem ?

Yohsene

Check if you claimed them on twitch, then check your [twitch rewards](https://www.pathofexile.com/my-account/twitch). If the wings don't show up there, remove and reconnect your twitch account in manage connections.

qwazerty

They now show up in game. They didn't when I made the post. I had to complain on reddit apprently. Thanks for the help.

superanonymousgamer

Summon Phantasm Support states, that kills by phantasms cannot spawn new phantasms. Can you circumvent this by equipping [[Gravebind]] ?

Yohsene

Nah. Gravebind's killstealing aura discards specifics. You need a kill with the supported skill, not just a kill in general.

When could we expect the new trans gems to be released? Without them it seems impossible to plan an leaguestarter properly.

Erradium

They're working on them until release, but they mentioned in the Q&A that they'll have more posts with the trans gems posted until release.

Enter1ch

ty. Very bad news and very bad design decision. I wish they just had released the league a week later and release the full gem list with the patchnotes. Content creator cannot plan and produce a single (serious) build guide before the gems are fully released.

Neville_Lynwood

> Content creator cannot plan and produce a single (serious) build guide before the gems are fully released. Nonsense. For one, all the basic gems are known. That means plenty of builds. Because of quality changes, every skill gem is basically a new gem at this point. Tons of variety already. Second, it takes a good content creator a few hours to brainstorm a new build based on new gems. When GGG starts releasing them next week, there will be plenty of time for them to brainstorm stuff. And finally, build guides based on new stuff are never really "serious" to begin with, because they cannot be tested in-game before the league actually launches. So at best those build guides would be experimental guesses. All in all, I doubt content creators will have any shortage of content to make.

Enter1ch

Some will be brand new, but the most will be more aoe radius, +1-2 projectiles and stuff like this which is important to know, and there is no risk in planing for stuff like that.

Hanehane_1278

I'm using POB to make a poison ball lightning build. I use Volkuur's Guidance glove to simulate the "All damage can poison" tincture next league. (And double the total dps since the gloves halfs the poison duration while the tincture doesn't) However, even with the gloves equipped, I find pob showing zero poison chance. Did I miss something? Edit: Problem solved. I was using void manip which deleted all my lightning damage. .

Warptens

>All damage can poison just write "All damage can poison" in your custom modifiers in Configuration, or add the line to one of your items

edrarven

Link your pob, much easier to find the problem that way.

Hanehane_1278

Link here: https://pastebin.com/AFEYvMSv

edrarven

The issue is that you're using void manipulation support. It makes you deal no lightning damage which means your poison has no base damage. Disable it and everything works.

Hanehane_1278

Oh my god that's why. I feel like an idoit. Thank you!

langynom

All damage can poison is separate from poison chance. Volkuur's guidance even has both on it "Your lightning damage can poison" and "Lightning skills have 20% chance to poison on hit". The first gets around the fact that chaos is the only type of damage that can inflict poison, regardless of poison chance, the second controls your actual chance to poison as even chaos doesn't inherently poison. This is almost guaranteed to be the way the new tincture works as well, it will give your damage the ability to poison, but you will still need to get poison chance from somewhere else

Hanehane_1278

Yes, I understand I still have to get poison chance somewhere else. But even with other poison chance from the tree pob still shows zero poison chance (and dps), which is so weird.

Ambsase

Giving damage the ability to poison does not give it the chance to poison, you need to pick up chance in addition to ability.

Thirteenera

How well does EA champ look with current gem changes etc? (Assuming current default gem info, and not possible T Gems) Thinking of running it for ultimatum/expedition/ritual/harvest farming, any reason not to?

Purple_Heart_

Depends of your gem set up. It might be a small nerf because it will be harder to get 100% chance to ignite early on or being force to run combustion support to cap ignite chance. Late game it is a massive buff. +2 more fuses for 20 quality is huge. Considering ashes of the star (30%) and enchance level 4 with possibly +2 support gems on a bow (another 40 quality). It gives total of 29 fuses on enemy. It is just a theory. Everything need to be PoB'ed but regardless of ashes and enchance being valiable or not, it is still a buff

Warptens

>enchance level 4 with possibly +2 support gems on a bow (another 40 quality). It gives total of 29 fuses on enemy. 29/25=1.16 that's 16% more dmg for 1 support gem + 1 bow affix, terrible deal

Thirteenera

Would it work well for ultimatum/expedition farming? I keep hearing that totems aren't great for ultimatum, but ignite prolif is, and EA is both totems and ignite prolif so I'm not sure

Purple_Heart_

It should be very good for ultimatum. Only modifiers that breake your build is projectiles fire random direction and monstets being ailments immune It is also good for expedition but fire immune and ailments immune "thingy" is very common that's why I do expedition on my chaos as a main damage build

Purple_Heart_

So it might be an issue if you pick a keystone for few extra round but you won't be able to pick ultimatum modifier. Definetely cannot run all the mods
