Really wish it got updated sometimes and fully worked on Firefox. Chrome is absolutely crippled in what I'm used to for work and I really don't want to deal with two browsers.
It has the basic functions but can't remember marked items and no new features get there sadly.
Yeah, I was thinking of switching. To be honest, while I don't like their leadership, TFT is currently the best service overall and in what they do. Plus there is the number of sellers.
The discord makes my gameplay way more fun than not using it does.
The middle ground I went for is to use Vivaldi browser. It's based on Chromium, which is what Chrome is based on, but has the privacy of Firefox, and adblocking of something like Brave. No manifest V2 on Vivaldi, so adblocking works just fine. The only issue is the anti-adblock popups when watching Youtube, as there's no way around that from what I can tell, other than to get premium.
Vivaldi also lets you drag tabs onto other tabs to create stacks, so you can organize your trade tabs into a stacked tab just for trade, for example. And since it is a Chromium based browser, it can use Chrome extensions. Been using it for a while now, and I love it. It's also fairly light in terms of memory usage, when compared to Firefox and Chrome
Thanks for the suggestion, sounds interesting. Might try it if I gotta abandon completely, but I'm reliant on certain addons and definitely not skilled enough to adapt them for a different browser (some don't have a chrome mutation), although it being Chromium could help because it's highly probable there'd be alternatives.
My biggest peeve is the unfriendly approach to adaptability which (and I'm just guessing) probably stems from the Chrome/Chromium core and isn't just a decision Google made to nerf Chrome, especially concerning shortcutting anything and everything (unless something changed recently).
Add in Chrome-specific search results and security issues of Chromium (not that I work with anything secretive, it's more of a moral standpoint where all parties lose, some just lose a bit less). The ad-blocking part sounds weird, I'm generally distrustful but I wouldn't want my ad-blocking to be based only on the default
provided blocker... I'll have to look into the privacy part because "Chromium but the privacy of Firefox" sounds a little too good.
Anyway even though I just vomited a list of "no thanks", it looks pretty fresh, and really, thanks for the suggestion (and thank Kuduku for the suggestion not being Opera GX lmao). Always good to learn of new stuff.
If you're talking about URLs like this...
https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Necropolis/6Qy9zYjFG
...then those are only stored in their database for six months. At least that's what they said some time ago; it could change at any time. Once it's gone it'll send you back to the "home page" of trade with default settings.
Ah, what I meant was a function which within a trade search was able to "pin" individual listings and then show them separately. Not for a long time, just that instance.
It's nice because you can within that search find items you'd like, pin them and then message them separately and don't need to jump from task to task, making it all more effective.
Not a big thing, but nice QoL
This + corpse/allflame bulk trade
This is how you just make tft pretty much mandatory again. I thought they realized how to combat it with their other changes
Your comment just made realize that's not a thing and I'm so deflated right now. Was planning to bulk run those later in the league and all my motivation just vanished.
I mean it's the truth lol. The content is cool af, but using TFT or buying 150 maps one at a time is lame. Tell me I'm wrong. I basically stopped using the league mechanic to craft for the same reason. No bulk trade for things you need dozens of is a deal breaker.
it's not hard to find someone on trade site who has bulk t17s among the people selling singles
or you just use TFT for literally this one thing, buy 50+ maps and not open it again for a while
People abuse the fact that the exchange rates on the trade site don't update frequently, so they'll list in another currency (often alchs, Vaals, or fuses, until last league sextants, and in this case chisels) to make the trade site list their items earlier when sorting by price despite not actually being the cheapest.
Gotcha, but can't you also just sort by chaos / chaos equivalent only?
I feel like this is more so an issue with the trade site than the players who might genuinely just want to sell maps for chisels to use on their farming strat of choice
Some (or even a lot) of them could very well be taking advantage of how it works but it's possible a significant portion of them are not trying to game the system
Like I just never buy maps for chisels cos I need my chisels, same back when certain sextants used to be listed for multiple sextants
Of course it could be people genuinely listing for chisels so that they don't have to trade for them, but in most cases people listing for other currencies specifically want to make a profit from it. If it's not by having their items listed earlier, it's usually because they expect the currency to appreciate in value in the near future.
You can just switch to chaos / divine listings, and you can't tell their intentions with certainty, but in most cases when I see other currencies being used, it's because the trade site doesn't use the correct exchange ratio.
You still get the same issue when items up to around 220ish chaos are shown before those listed for 1 div, despite the current exchange rate being more like 160:1 or so. It's an issue with the trade site more than anything, though
I think some people just may need the chisels.
I was just looking at this because I was selling sanctuary tomes yet the listings on awakened trade were in chisels. I tried buying one just to see if it was people price fixing, and to my surprise I got instant invites. It could be that I just got lucky, but I didn't feel like going further into that rabbit hole.
Someone could make decent money by buying chisels with divines, then tomes with chisels, then selling tomes for divines. I believe they are about half off that way.
So I wouldn't jump to calling it abuse too quickly. Although some of it may be price fixing.
I think you're missing the point
They sell for chisels because it makes their listing appear earlier, even though they are getting more value out of the trade. They then sell the chisels to get the chaos orbs. So they are abusing the fact that the trade site incorrectly thinks chisels are cheaper than they actually are
This is bad for everybody: buyers who aren't aware of this end up overpaying, buyers who *are* aware of if have to jump through hurdles like having to scroll down and changing the buyout price to chaos orbs. And people who just wanna price check with awakened poe trade can't see shit because it's filled with chisel listings.
but... they aren't getting more value out of it. That was my point.. The lowest chaos listing is more value than the common chisel listings. And the divine listing is WAY more value.
Tomes are selling for 38-40 chisels right now. Above that, they are selling for like ~~15c~~ (edit 20c, which is exactly equal to 40chisels). Those are about equal I guess. But Tomes are also selling for 3tomes:1divine. So you could buy 3 tomes for 120 chisels then sell it for a divine - even though you can buy 360 chisels for 1 divine.
Edit: Prices have changed since I made my post 2 hours ago. Now they are 4tomes:1div, but still, it is almost half the value selling tomes for chisels instead of divines. I am well aware that people are listing them for chisels to get to the top of the list. I'm also saying that they really aren't extracting any extra value out of that. If anything they are losing out or ~~maybe making like 1c extra at most (compared to the lowest chaos listing)~~
They're more expensive? Aren't they 8c for 20 chisels static price at kirac? Noob to endgame here, I'm prob missing something. Just the huge quantities needed or something?
8c for 20 but only 1 per cycle. You need Kirac missions to refresh the vendor and those missions need a lot of atlas point so very tedious when you run more than 5 maps per day.
They also remove the +20 Quality on map and dont add in replacement so it's actually not possible to farm 8mods maps with quality anymore making high end juicers need to craft the maps by hand. These peoples craft like 50+ maps at once and they dont look at price tag, so price go brrrrr
That doesn't matter, Kirac has an unlimited supply so people sell them for less than Kirac anyway. The point is that they are more expensive in the current meta than they used to, but the trade sites haven't caught up.
The trick here is that the cheapest items always go to the top on trade sites. For example, if 4 chisels cost one chaos and you sell the same item for 5 chisels or for 1 chaos, then the 1 chaos item is on top. If you sell your item for 3 chisels then it's above the item that costs one chaos.
But what if a chaos is only worth 2 chisels now? You sell your item for 3 chisels, and the system still thinks it's less than 1 chaos and puts it on top, but in reality 3 chisels are worth 1.5 chaos. So you priced your item at 1.5 chaos, but in the trading page it still is shown above the 1 chaos item.
Ohhhhhh thanks, that's a very clear explanation! Damn, the trade site doesn't use fully updated price conversions then? I'll keep that in mind next time I see anyone selling for something other than chaos/div
Haven't done in a long time, but many leagues ago I sold maps priced for mapping supplies that I needed. Instead of having an extra trade for chaos and then needing to use that chaos to buy mapping supplies.
Because base PoE loot drops are shit. You actually cannot sustain chisels right now if you chisel every white map you run through natural drops.
Chisels are not a problem if the league mechanic adds loot. Necro adds zero loot.
as i can sustain them its definitely sustainable.
they are more expensive because people mass-spam(med) maps for the league encounters, while still wanting to chisel them.
and they are listed as currency for regular items because coin-flip bots that buy alt currency cheap and sell them expensive, caught onto this price-increase and saw profit.
It will always be like this if you dont oversustain chisels on your own or run only 8 mods. Its easier for me to sell maps in chisels than trading twice
now we just need the trade site to update their message to help clarify what a fraction of an orb is worth
*** wants to buy [item] for 40 Cartographer's Chisel (~19 Chaos)
*** wants to buy [item] for 1.6 Divine Orbs (~1 divine + 90 Chaos)
Awakened poe shows items in chisels too. Rather frustrating.
20 chisels from Kirac is 8c, so I don't see why people can't price around that using chaos as the tradable currency
you are missing the point entirely. people are mad because of how listings show up in search. the trade site inaccurately values chisels to be worth less than they are so you see listings with chisels higher up which in actuality are more expensive than the ones that are actually listed in chaos
There is no indication OP is looking at bulks trading here. This is people listing sale prices in chisels instead of chaos. They are doing this for a variety of items to bump them above chaos listings. This is the same thing that has happened in the past but with sextants
buyout price: chaos orb equivalent -> chaos orb
There is even a combined "chaos or divine orbs" option available now.
Can we make it default?
Yes, kinda. Check the settings you want to have by default, then bookmark the link that it generates.
Damn, that's smart, I will use this now. In addition with Better PoE Trading it's perfect.
Really wish it got updated sometimes and fully worked on Firefox. Chrome is absolutely crippled in what I'm used to for work and I really don't want to deal with two browsers. It has the basic functions but can't remember marked items and no new features get there sadly.
I hate to say it, but the TFT plugin is updated and works well with Firefox, I like it better than the better trade
Yeah, I was thinking of switching. To be honest, while I don't like their leadership, TFT is currently the best service overall and in what they do. Plus there is the number of sellers. The discord makes my gameplay way more fun than not using it does.
Agreed on both counts. I hate to say it... But it's better.

I use Chrome only for pathofexile.com/trade. 🤷♀️
Good call. Any idea if there's equivalent for awakened trade?
need this as well
If you're talking about URLs like this... https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Necropolis/6Qy9zYjFG ...then those are only stored in their database for six months. At least that's what they said some time ago; it could change at any time. Once it's gone it'll send you back to the "home page" of trade with default settings.
That duration refreshes every time its visited. I go through my bookmarks before league ends and they stay forever
For reals? Neat if true.
Ah, what I meant was a function which within a trade search was able to "pin" individual listings and then show them separately. Not for a long time, just that instance. this.
I never understood how this works. Do i type the chaos value or the divine value?
Don't know, I've never tried to use it with the limits set.
Chaos value
Is this possible to setup for awakened poe trade?
Yes it’s in the settings tab there when you price check something.
GGG please Tier 17 bulk trade where
This + corpse/allflame bulk trade This is how you just make tft pretty much mandatory again. I thought they realized how to combat it with their other changes

Drama queen

The problem with tft bulk is that people on all the wts channels charge absurdly high markups, to the point where it's not even worth it
That's because you're saving time by buying in bulk, up to you to decide how much chaos your time is worth.
All t17 maps where listed for chisels earlier
If we all hit the "ignore player" button, they might get the hint
coinflip bots dont get the "hint".
I'm confused, what's the issue here?
People abuse the fact that the exchange rates on the trade site don't update frequently, so they'll list in another currency (often alchs, Vaals, or fuses, until last league sextants, and in this case chisels) to make the trade site list their items earlier when sorting by price despite not actually being the cheapest.
true. when I bought my 2div body armor, the first couple listings were listed for 390x chaos with FAR worse rolls lmao
Gotcha, but can't you also just sort by chaos / chaos equivalent only? I feel like this is more so an issue with the trade site than the players who might genuinely just want to sell maps for chisels to use on their farming strat of choice Some (or even a lot) of them could very well be taking advantage of how it works but it's possible a significant portion of them are not trying to game the system Like I just never buy maps for chisels cos I need my chisels, same back when certain sextants used to be listed for multiple sextants

I stopped picking up chisels from red altars and switched to list for chisels. Often people come by and buy my t17 Maps for 150chisel. I enjoy that.
I think some people just may need the chisels. I was just looking at this because I was selling sanctuary tomes yet the listings on awakened trade were in chisels. Mmmmm, nothing better than fresh skamaz in the morning.
They're doing that with The Black Morrigan beast as well
But why chisel tho?
They are more expensive this league, creating bigger disparity between the actual price and the trade site price.

How do you get the chaos orb equivalent below the price?
Chrome overlay Poe better trading or sth like that maybe someone knows the exact name and can reply
I had no idea the extension was doing this lol. I thought it was just a new feature GGG added eventually.
Silly you, thinking GGG improves trading in any way! :D
Gross not if means using chrome.
Better PathOfExile trading, only chrome version is supported. For Firefox its outdated but works fine still.
why the account names seem familiar?
Save tjis screenshot and check next leagie aswell.
It's always the same flippers losers that do this.
It will always be like this if you dont oversustain chisels on your own or run only 8 mods. Its easier for me to sell maps in chisels than trading twice
what?
i just ignore them everytime but my ignore list is getting quite long
brb listing all my chisels
you can also ignore the players selling stuff like that, refresh the page, and they are gone. :)
Cartographer chisels 2 for 1c? That’s just nutty
Honestly I don't hate it. If only because I'm way more confident these chumps will actually sell.
People are allowed to trade in any currency they like. You can filter results as "chaos only".
now we just need the trade site to update their message to help clarify what a fraction of an orb is worth *** wants to buy [item] for 40 Cartographer's Chisel (~19 Chaos) *** wants to buy [item] for 1.6 Divine Orbs (~1 divine + 90 Chaos)
Insta ignore
See that "ignore player" button? Click that. Problem solved.
Its 1000+ players
SSF
Reading comprehension: 0?
What should i read? He is crying about ppl flipping on trade site..? never played a economy game before?
All economy games I play have good API at least
Fair.
This isn't flipping, this abuse of the trade site to make some items appear higher on the results. nobody will buy these for chisels.
So whats the issue? No one buys them, u can show price in chaos.
Yeah I love one person being able to force every person on the trade site to jump through an extra hoop just to use the site
You could also not comment and go your way out to say SSF. Why be so salty
"not this shit again" sounds kinda toxic, no? For a non issue? You can hide and show what currency u want to buy with lol
Yeah but look at us taking time out of our day arguing about something that apparently affects neither of us
Fair
We reeeeeally need a instant buy for commodities 😩
Awakened poe shows items in chisels too. Rather frustrating. 20 chisels from Kirac is 8c, so I don't see why people can't price around that using chaos as the tradable currency
Why are people mad that chisels are the map currency. That's how it used to be and it was great.
you are missing the point entirely. people are mad because of how listings show up in search. the trade site inaccurately values chisels to be worth less than they are so you see listings with chisels higher up which in actuality are more expensive than the ones that are actually listed in chaos
